ANET caved to the bad players that begged them to nerf warriors. Le t me be more specific everything about this patch is about making the game more simplistic and easy for new players, and nerfing warriors.

I find the sustain of Mesmers to be significantly hogher than warriors. Guardian sustain is higher, ele sustain is higher higher. No one is complain about the classes, you know why because they are not warriors.

The problem is that warriors get high sustain for relatively nothing. Other classes have to build their characters around sustain in order to achieve it and that means giving up other things(damage, mobility, etc). On my warrior I can have high damage, high mobility, high sustain(healing), high group utility, and high survivability(health/armor) all in the same build.

Ya but you are forgeting that warriors don’t have anything besides Hp and armor and their own body to mitigate damage. They have no protection, no aegis, no stealth, no blinks or teleports, no clones, no pets, no vulnerabilities. (endure pain zerkers stnce are not invuln skills) no access to regen boon, no water fields, no healing symbols, no death shroud. In fact warriors have access to none of these mechanics that off more survivability than HP and Armor and Healing signet.

Any other profession that uses these other mechanics to the fullest potential can have more damage mitigation that a warrior who just has High base hp. The issue is you guys are not using them and complain that warriors are OP go figure.

I’m sorry but when you have a base HP and toughness that high you don’t need it not to mention you do have them anyways. Do you not know your class? Other classes have to have all of these things to make it equal to the amount of sustain your toughness and vitality is but the difference is that they have to use these skills in combat to have it while you can just sit there and not worry about it because you have the most passive ridiculous healing signet in the game as well as your high base vitality and toughness and just focus on outputting damage and not worry about using abilities to keep your sustain. And did I not mention that you do have these abilities anyways? Oh ya. Lawl

While you are right PW are easier to kill than the previous S/D meta build, the damage and cc they do is greatly increased. They are still very prevalent in high ranked team queue games and the build just crushes necros, rangers, ele and mesmer. I’d like to know what u think is a more valid and critical thing tocomplain about is. I think the build that cuts 2 classes completely out of the meta is something to complain about.
Altho i do hate decap engies twice as much.

How about conditions, and how horribly designed and implemented they are? How the only way to reliably survive against a conditions is to distinctly build for them, whereas conversely the only thing you need to do to survive raw damage is to avoid it with skillful play, no matter how you’re built.

How about how nearly all condition specs rely on passives and ranged auto attacks to do their damage, meaning you can’t reliably avoid them with skillful play.

How about why there are so many passives in an action/reaction orientated game and how stupidly effective and powerful they are? How about why there are so many pets and AI in PvP?

How about nearly all condition-oriented specs also being primarily defensive stat-wise? How about Clensing ire, and how it works with long bow? How it only takes 20 trait points to have the best reliable condition removal in the game and have one of the most survivable specs with healing signet and longbow, defending against both condition and raw damage, and then can put all the other traits and stats into offensive lines and still be one of the hardest things to kill in the game.

How about the complete and utter lack of build diversity in the game?

Pistol whip does counter some builds, but it mostly counters the stupid passive/pettingzoo builds that are so prominent in the game right now. I don’t think that’s such a bad thing, to be honest. Unskillful builds that prioritize AI and passives like that need to be played less, and having a build that can more-easily deal with them is a good thing in my eyes.

Pistolwhip gameplay makes Warrior gameplay look complicated.

And dagger/pistol thieves don’t? Dagger/dagger? Pistol/dagger? Sword/dagger? That’s just how the thief is: the complication isn’t in the skill rotation or usage, it’s in the positioning, timing, and twitch-reaction to survive the 2 hits it takes to kill them.

For a warrior, the skill is in the skill rotation. The heavy armor, healing signet, and cleansing ire gives the warrior one of the most inherently defensive specs in the game. The problem isn’t that the warrior can have these things, the problem is that the warrior can achieve this with only 20 trait points.

I understand that other things like cleansing ire and all the other meta builds have issues but why does that make S/P ok? Lol. S/P is easier than hambow to play. It is the most ruthless and noob friendly weapon set to play. You’re basically saying that if there were 5 people that robbed a bank that the police should just arrest one of them and the others are fine. S/P is a huge issue in the current meta and if you fail to see it I really don’t know what to tell you.

Agreed as well as all the sigil and rune changes. We only saw around 3 of each but a list would be nice since my water+traveler+monk is worthless now

LMAO get good at the game and learn when to dodge correctly and not just spam it like every other theif does and NO thief does NOT need anymore evades look at shortbow 4 and pistol whip spammer.. LOL your kidding me this is NOT going too happen you have the MOST mobility out of ANY class in the game and stop comaplaining cause you play full glass and die almost instantly…

I actually have been theory crafting and I’ve thought of a 30fire-30earth build to try out.

What I’m actually going to love about stone heart is it’s ability to resist condi specs by not letting them proc condis on criticals. This is huge. (as well as the damage reduction)

With 30 trait points and attunement to earth, you have gained a cat-load of defense. Moderate resistance to condis and extreme resistance to damage. I think with this trait eles can make a come-back into the meta.

I’m also thinking of trying to go for a build that goes 30 in fire and earth. I hope gw2skills can update with new skills soon so we can theory craft better. I wish they had released all the details on all the changes for each and every rune and sigil as well so we could get a better idea on what to go for since my current runes are trash now. (Monk+Traveler+Water)

PvP players have a sure chance at getting a legendary? You’re kidding right? I’m a PvP player and I have no chance at getting one because I’m not good enough to win a tournament atm. Get over it. Then there’s the PvE players who do have a sure chance at getting a legendary. Just do all the requirements or swipe your credit card. 5 people out of the whole PvP population get a legendary whereas anyone and everyone can get it in the PvE population.

So I take it you all think that there shouldn’t be esports in any game. Because those players like in LoL win millions of dollars for winning a large tournament. Or should you be able to win millions of dollars for not being competitive and playing only the PvE part of the game? Should you win millions of dollars for completing the Call of Duty campaign? You guys are ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. 5 players from the whole entire sPvP community get a chance at a legendary and people think it’s unfair? LOL.

You all have been complaining for ages about a new way to obtain a legendary that actually requires skill rather than mindless farming and now you got it and you are complaining because you aren’t good enough at the game. Give me a break

I mean from what I saw the meta will stay the same. Hambow warrior, Decap Engi (actually buffed), Bunker Guardian, and S/P or D/P thief.

Ele’s were not fixed. They were given an alternate route but not fixed. That alternate route seems to try and be a bunker that the Guardian will outclass them in. D/D is a little improved with the evade on Burning Speed and the blast finisher on Frozen Burst.

The problem I have with this is these are the exact notes we were given over 2 months ago and that was supposed to just be a preview from what I understood but it seems to be all that there was to offer and with all the threads about the meta builds and all the threads in the Ele section about how only D/D ele was getting buffed and it wasn’t even offering the sustain we need (like an hp boost? or more than one evade frame?) that absolutely nothing got changed after everything. They just gave us new GM traits which are a nice change but they didn’t “fix” anything……they just added on. S/P Thief is still going to be absolutely out of control and maybe even a new D/P build that brings in the 50% damage reduction in stealth, Hambow is still going to be the god of everything, Decap Engi will still be knocking you around like a pinball with an addition of quickness, and Guardian’s will still be the most important person in the room.

I’m just utterly dissapointed
I’m really hoping that these new changes really do change the meta and I just can’t see it or they have some hidden patch notes somewhere that they didn’t feel like revealing yet because as far as I can tell when it said that those were the high end balance changes they were pretty insignificant (if there were nerfs to any of the meta builds they would definitely be a high end balance change) and that the notes that were low end balance changes that we didn’t get to see were just the bug fixes.

What are you talking about? The notes are fake. None of them are the same as the true patch notes EXCEPT the ones that were announced in January and these fake notes came out after those were released. They just made it seem like it might be real by adding in the ones already officially announced. lawl

Yes, i saw your reply in the other thread and have edited my post. I agree with Nike’s OP after realizing I was wrong and didn’t think about CD’s.

What would you rather have:

A: Swappable weapons outside of combat. This would mean being able to have 2 sigils and not need to use one on a stacking sigil. Though you would still be at a loss compared to all other classes due to having 2 Sigils Vs their 4 sigils (3 with stacking sigil)

Or

B: Having access to 4 Sigil slots (basically 3 due to stacking sigil) This would be a 1 sigil gain on what we currently have.

tbh, I don’t see B ever happening but I would love for A to happen. I’m tired of keeping my weapons in my inventory and swapping them out of combat and would just rather be able to swap out of combat without opening up inventory and this would also fix the problem with on kill sigils with Ele’s. Not to mention that the way traits are going to work with being able to swap them while out of combat would work perfectly for this AND it sounds like we have some kind of wardrobe coming to swap your armor out of combat as well. It would completely synergize with all of those changes.

I understand the concern of this but I think it’s only fair to realize that Ele’s and Engineer’s get the advantage of “On Swap” sigils. An example would be the “Sigil of Energy” where an Ele would get 5 dodges automatically while a Guardian would get 3. So I think it’s ok to assume that since Ele’s/Engi’s have the advantage of “On Swap” sigil that other classes can have the advantage of “On Kill” sigils. I think the only thing up for debate would be the question that, are “On Swap” sigils equally as powerful as “On Kill” sigils. If not, then one class would definitely have the advantage with sigils over the other.

On swap sigils have a cool down. Thus the benefit is not applicable when you get into it. EVERY class has the same cool down when it comes to a sigil. No one class has a benefit over another class with that in mind.

So ele and Engineer will actually be down to ONE sigil they can use if removing the stacking sigil weapon means removal of the stacks this is an even BIGGER nerf to both these classes and something tells me ArenaNet didn’t think this one through. So not only do every other class get FOUR sigil slots, if it is true that to keep your stacks you have to keep the sigil equipped will mean that all other classes will have THREE times the number of sigils than the Engineer and ele will have access to…

Thieves (PvP) primarily but also (PvX)

I like the thoughts in the thread. I do feel you repeat your self a little in the second post.
The short version is this.
Because thieve’s have no a global cooldown instead of personal cooldowns for their skills, in every fight they get into they will use the most dps efficient skills they have and not use the others.

looking at the dagger main pistol off hand. we can see that they will focus on backstabbing, as the only other skill on the entire branch that does damage is their #3.
on the dagger; dagger item set they will again use back stabbing, this time because the only big single target damage skill they have aside from it is cloak and dagger, a skill that sets them up for a 0 initiative coster.

as to your post on stealth, there are realy only 2 ways that stealth could be built into the game. arenanet had the decision of making it incombat stealth or out of combat stealth.
In WOW, their thief type character has a long term stealth and I think only 1 incombat stealth trick, to offset this IT’S STATS LET IT HOLD ITS OWN IN 1V1 COMBAT WITH THE OTHER CLASSES. Because the thief has in combat stealth instead it’s ingame combat abilities are lower to where it can not hold its own vs other classes with most of its builds.

I realy like your viewing on initiative as thieve’s don’t so much spam skills as they try to use the most optimum options they have to win.

Unfortunately, for stealth to work in this game as an IN COMBAT version, combat vs the stealth classes(thief/mesmers) will always remain aggravating for some players. I don’t see any way to fix it without heavy rebuilds of both the thieve’s, mesmers, and probably ranger classes.

Thank you and yes, I tend to repeat myself as writing papers and such has always been my worst area in school, although I did my best to explain. And yes, you completely get my post with that summary. What you’re saying with stealth’s issue I think my solution would take A LOT of the hate away. Reason being, they need to take stealth away from being completely dependent on those weapon sets which means taking away backstab. It also means taking stealth away from being a primarily offensive skill and more of a defensive one which like I said by taking backstab away as well as making stealth limited (maybe only via utilities). Of course this will require a complete rework of everything on thief and they would need to give them different attacks so that they can keep the definition of the Thief class being the most mobile as well as having the highest single target burst. Out of everything though, I believe the initiative is a bigger problem than stealth is although stealth is pretty high as well. But a lot of the stealth problems would probably be fixed with the change of initiative meaning the rework of the entire class.

From the looks of it the only balance changes will be those already spoilt in the “balance preview” which was months ago.

What does this mean?

It means no nerf to decap engis – so solo q is still unplayable
It means no nerf to pistol whip
It means no nerf to thief sustain in general (withdraw)
It means no nerf to AH guardian (so another year of bunker guardian required)
It means no nerf warrior (8% healing signet change doesn’t count sorry – espicially with sigil buff for them)

I kind of knew this would be the case based on:

1, Previously their announced balance changes (even when months before a patch) = their only balance changes.
2, Devs already announced they were “keeping balance changes to a minimum”

I think the rage when this balance patch comes out will hit new heights on these forums. Personally I would be astonished if they don’t address things like AR and pistol whip

Considering these are overview blogs are not only aimed at PvPers, but rather the community at large and that decap engi, AH guardian, PW thieves aren’t of great importance to them. I’d recommend that you should try and keep your panties out of a twist for a few more weeks, Rick.

Trust me. Those are the balance changes. We have 6 more months of decap engis and pistol whip thieves to look forward to.

I mean, dude, warrior is one of the things I don’t even care about right now. Warrior is balanced and fun to fight against compared to those two things.

What a complete and utter disaster this feature patch is going to be.

Anet: None of your new traits, sigils and runes matter for kitten. You can theory craft some new epic necro/ele/whatever build but it won’t matter for anything. You will have an awesome coherent build and then you go to play it and you just get pistol whipped to death over and over by an unhittable thief. What ruins this game isn’t what is not there. It is what is here. Addition by subtraction is something you people should be aware of. There is no point in this patch if we just get pistol whipped over and over still, or if we can’t even fight a 4v4 because of a decap engi on our close all game like a braindead idiot

This patch is going to be the worst ever produced. And I was excited about it. None of it matter anymore. New map? Who cares. I will just get pistol whipped 7 times in 10 seconds on that map too. So who gives a kitten.

LOL, you made me laugh. I can understand your frustration because I feel it too on these particular builds/weapon sets. I was dissapointed as well from seeing the same exact information they told us previously on that Ready Up months ago. Literally the same. But, I’m still keeping hopes that those summaries of the changes aren’t even close to what’s being changed. I’m hoping it’s much much larger. Anyways, let’s wait for the stream here in an hour and a half.

Omg, you guys are ridiculous. Saying it requires skill to kill AI? Give me a break. You know you went out and killed the UP monsters until you got 25 stacks and then changed weapons or w/e and started abusing it. That crap needed to get changed. Obviously the people saying that are the ones who were doing it. I play Ele btw.

I am kinda dissapointed with the changes they showed and the only reason I’m dissapointed is because they told us everything that they showed today several months ago. I was expecting something new. The Ele changes are the same ones they said on the stream, they could’ve given a few different ones. W/e, hopefully they enlighten us on the stream here in a little over an hour.

EDIT: and no way would I ever want to agree on laurels being tied to the tomes. This is in the WvW section and badges are the currency for WvW. Daily’s are so time gated there is no way. I can understand the ascended trinkets requiring laurels and badges because they are ascended items and I can understand the time gate and large cost, but tomes? Forget it

Wow, thanks for the responses Justin. I think it’s really great when you get a healthy debate between the devs and the players. Seriously. I would love to see more devs getting into threads and debating with the players. It sparks life into the thread.

Anyways, I agree that I want more progression in sPvP. I didn’t when I first joined in and then I realized it was just way too disconnected from the world and I wished that it was kinda like how WvW worked. But hey, that’s just me. I came into this game solely playing only sPvP and then finally moved onto WvW and PvE as I wanted to roam and found out on what I was missing as well as what I wished sPvP had. Thanks for chiming in Justin.

Great Puzzle, more needed like this

So I just randomly found and completed the Flame Temple Tombs puzzle in the game. It starts out with a couple dynamic events that finish with a portal bringing you to an area in the game that you can’t go without the portal as the gate to the tomb is locked. Inside the tomb is a series of puzzles for each room that you have to complete the riddle to get to the next room. Most puzzles just require you to jump from spot to spot to get to the next area. This puzzle you also can’t complete without a couple teammates because you need a certain item in a different room that you can’t holdon to to complete the current room and the champ at the end is too difficult to complete on your own.

I don’t know if this qualified as a jumping puzzle since I didn’t receive an achievement but it does give you a nice chest in the end with a bonus chest to open as well. Give us more of these. It was a great puzzle.

I’m not talking about stealth overall but specifically for Thief. The main problem with stealth for Thief is that it is not just a defensive maneuver, they MUST use it for offense as well for certain weapon sets.

  • The main problem with stealth overall is that it is just a guessing game when attacking your opponent and so is fine when it is limited to a degree. With thieves it is not limited and most importantly is the only way that they can deal damage.
  • Because of this you will only ever see a Thief for 3-4 seconds when either his stealth has finished or he has succeeded in attacking you. There is no other reason for a thief to not be in stealth so besides those 3-4 seconds you will only always be guessing where to attack and when a thief doesn’t want to be hit because he has “Hide in Shadows” traited and needs to get rid of condis and regen all of his health, he won’t get hit because he’s going to move away from you and not toward you and you’re only guessing so might as well be defensive with your guess and protect yourself from backstab hopefully. Stealth doesn’t have a “true” counter. Note that this is only one example.

Summary
Now since there is the initiative system a thief is extremely predictable because it can only do one thing to do damage and everyone knows what that is. But also because of the initiative system, even if you stop it the first time because it’s predictable the thief can just do it again and again and again and the next time you won’t have those defenses. Stealth also becomes broken when a class cannot do anything without it because it is a tool that is so extremely powerful when it takes away the ability for one to see you or target you. These systems are also annoying for a Thief because it becomes so repetitive that it becomes boring. I mean all you do is the same attack over and over again. There is no diversity. I believe that you can take away the initiative system and the stealth dependence and completely redo all the weapon skills and traits and come up with a Thief that is still the best single target burst class as well as keeping it’s mobility the best and keeping it a powerful class. This is coming from someone who has more hours on his Thief than any other class. I’ve moved on because I got bored.

Let me know what you think. I know I’m going to get the usual Thieves coming in saying that I need to L2P and such but that’s definitely not the case. This would make Thieves more fun to play and play against and I would go straight back to my thief and never stop as that has always been the class/profession I’ve always picked in every game and this game until I got tired of the repetitiveness. Also, this is just the basis of the problem, I could go much deeper into it with examples and much more but this thread would be way too long. Thank you for reading and this is only my opinion.

Alright so I’m pretty sure we are all getting tired of seeing Thief OP threads posted everywhere on a constant basis. I’ve been wanting to make this thread for awhile now but have refrained because I really didn’t want to be put on the spot but I just don’t see this suggestion that much and only see nerf this, nerf that, adjust these numbers, L2P!, etc. So here it goes. Note: please read the summary.

In my opinion no matter how much the numbers are messed around with and nerfed on thieves we will always see people complaining about them for one reason and that is because of how Thieves can spam attacks over and over again and we will not see a decrease in these threads until Thieves are nerfed to the ground and not viable anymore, if every class was given the initiative system, or unless something is changed. That change would be the initiative system(primarily) and the class’s dependence on stealth. I request a complete class makeover.

Initiative
There are two main issues with initiative, one being on the Thief’s side and the other being on the Thief’s opponent’s side.

  • Since Thieves have initiative it makes it so that they only truly have one attack that outputs damage. If they had multiple attacks that had good damage the Thief would only use the one that had the best cost of initiative per damage output ratio. There would be no point in using any other. Because of this all thieves will do the whole time they are attacking is the same thing over and over again which in my opinion is extremely boring as it is so repetitive. (Stealth Backstab Stealth Backstab/Teleport Pistolwhip Teleport Pistolwhip)
  • On the opposing side it can be extremely annoying and aggravating and is seen as “spamming” although what they don’t see is that this is the only thing a Thief can do to attack you. Also, since a D/D or D/P thief have to stealth in order to do damage it is extremely annoying to see a Thief stealth and disappear every single couple of seconds or with S/P constantly and repeatedly teleport and immobilize you when you only have a certain amount of condi clears and it seems never ending.

we been waiting a year and a half with that optimism… hasn’t worked out yet and history tends to repeat it’s self, so yeah try playing underdog for a year and a half waiting to get fixed and having to deal with empty promises and being flat out told “no you guys are not allowed to do burst of any kind because that would just cause a power creep in the game” and to see burst potentials getting promised to other classes. The ranger optimism has run dry at this point and unless it is pointed out that there needs to be things changed and they should not be so rigid on their views of classes that are not fitting into any meta in the game.

Yes I understand that. But that’s not what you were implying in your OP. You were talking about the new traits that have just been announced implying they have something to do with the current meta when we have no idea what the new meta is going to be. Hell, they may have just given your wish and gave rangers that burst(unlikely from what Allie has said), but what my point is is that you can’t qq about the new traits until you know of all the new traits and balance changes first. I mean I play Ele who is worse than ranger in the current PvP meta with spirit rangers being viable so I’m banking on these changes too. You think I care about a trait that gives a 25% boost to healing? No I don’t, I’m sure someone wants to be a healer but I don’t. I’m just saying, wait till everything else comes out as far as balance goes before you start a rage post. And ven then, it would probably get more attention if it wasn’t in rage but in a constructive format with bullet points and reasonings like the poster above you stated. Mon got his post recognized about balance patch frequency because of this particular reason. Just trying to help you out man cause what if the things you qq’d about did happen? You would get it shoved right back into your face you know? Anyways, that’s just my 2cents

EDIT: OH AND YOU SHOULD ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THE RANGER CDI PROBABLY WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE PATCH NOTES. JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER CDI, THEY ARE NOT IMPLEMENTED RIGHT AWAY. THE RANGER CDI ENDED LIKE A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THESE NOTES WERE REPEASED WHICH MEANS THAT THEY WERE MOST LIKELY NOT INCLUDED AS THEY HAVE TO TEST THESE THINGS BEFORE THEYRE IMEMENTED

This is probably one of the reason the devs wanted to take away ranks because people qq over facing a rank 30 when they are much lower and such. It would be a lot better if we had our MMR rank displayed instead of our animal rank.

How about we NOT start guessing and speculating so that we aren’t disappointed and enraged when it inevitably does not meet the wild speculations we had prematurely formed?

I’m ALREADY excited about the trait changes alone. This feature pack is going to big no matter how you slice it. I would much rather be excited about a game I love, then perpetuate this constant state of negativity that seems so prevalent on these forums.

Come on guys, it’s okay to think new stuff is cool! Even if it turns out to not be exactly what you thought it would be, it’s still new stuff for a game we’re all clearly passionate about!

The game is already I a bad state of balance. I think the best time to introduce new traits/weapon skills is probably now rather than when its balanced.

there will never be balance, in any game that has different professions. The problem is when some professions are way above or below average. In the GW2 case, before the December patch professions were very near each other balance wise but since then a few professions have been constantly above every other profession…

As for the introduction of new traits / abilities, it’s better sooner that later.
If we were to wait for balance to introduce new stuff, we would have to wait for years.

I glad changes are being made even though (apparently) the “baby steps” and “shaving” policies have been scratched and we can expect allot more bugs and balance issues…

Just hope it isn’t to late… Even Quake 3 Arena has more twitchtv viewers / streamers that Gw2 I checked it last night…

I completely agree. I don’t think complete balance is achievable. I was just putting it in perspective in what it is now compared to what if could be that this is probably the best time to put it in.

Well it can’t be too expensive or first time players are gonna be outa luck.

Who wants to play a game that heavily restricts your access to your traits as well as skills? It seems the new trait system is going to make it awful for first timers. No traits till level 30?! No grandmasters till level cap??

Ohh those look like good traits. I’d like to experiment with them and see which make a better build. Oops, can’t afford to buy them so I can’t experiment. Guess I’ll have to stab in the dark. Uhh…that one.

Makes it hard for levelers to experiment and try stuff out, really get a feel for traits and synergy and their class as a whole until they hit 80 and buy everything.

Yes but, the devs mentioned in a different blog for china that they were going to make stat boosts a lot different as well. Instead of boosting an insignificant amount per level they would be doing a large boost every certain amount of levels so that you could really appreciate and see the boost. This might go hand in hand with this trait concept in order to help you out at earlier levels although I could be completely wrong.

They have to give an alternative method. They can’t force people into doing dungeon, PvP, hard solo content, etc. It would only cause even more problems. In a system where everyone is meant to be at relatively the same power, not offering an alternative would simply be unfair.

For example, imagine having the best trait locked behind Liadri without offering an alternative.

This. It will only cause people to say they are now forced to play in a way they don’t want to play.

I am wary about this, and I am waiting to see how it works, but I’ll be really annoyed if each trait cost anything near even 1g. It only costs a few gold now to unlock the whole of the grandmaster tier, so paying a lot more than that per trait? No thanks. But, making people complete dungeons etc … well, that does sort of go against the “play you want to play” philosophy they spout (and I really don’t like to use this term lightly as I think it gets abused a lot). I would think eventually, I could see a lot of people just “not being bothered” and walking away, which I don’t want to happen.

Well they have to make it so that the cost is somewhere equal to the other method so I definitely seeing it being slightly expensive. Otherwise nobody at all would do the exploring option if they were 50s-1g a piece. And it still is play how you want even with this added in because you can purchase it with gold. Gold is made by doing anything in the game. Just my 2cents

I’m sure its wxp or both+more. Let’s hope for everything to be account bound shall we :p This patch is going to be great for the game and will change a lot.

If we are talking about wanting death match, I would hope its smaller scale such as 2v2. And don’t get your hopes blundered yet, they never said that each of these blogs only talks about one specific thing so more than one can be bundled into one of em. I’m extremely excited for these changes. These sound like big changes coming to the game. Let’s hope that sPvP takes a big part of it.

Good video man. I agree. I really hope that they bring in a 2v2 matchmaking. One flaw I see though is with the current matchmaking system and people getting paired up wrong and flame fests ensue.

BUT, it would be a great relief to the game with something brand new and I would take it over anything we have now.

This patch has made me consider uninstalling this game for the first time.
I’m seriously considering it, not because things haven’t been fixed yet, but because of the removal.

I think it speaks volumes about the company: removing gameplay incentive from their players, for any duration, simply states they don’t care about keeping you engaged.

LOL! I love when people catch these. They really are hilarious. Kinda like when the dev called out a player in his own thread saying that he hadn’t had the 4v5’s he claimed he had. Love em.

Anyways, I’m currently trying to finish world completion still. I just need to get it over with and I’m finally at around 70%. I also have been playing Titanfall everytime I need a slight break from the game but unfortunately Titanfall isn’t near what it was all hyped up to be, meh. But GW2>all atm so really just killing time with something productive like world completion for this patch to come and change my Ele game up and hopefully some other classes/builds. We shall see.

Although it is dissapointing, it sounds like we may finally be moving away from goldwars2. If that’s what they are referencing by change of progression in the game. Which would mean no more of gold being the only realistic way to get a particular item hopefully.

I would tune into GW2’s Ready Up stream this Friday as they are finally releasing information on that patch for the next 3 weeks in a row. We don’t know if the patch will come at the end of the month or at the beginning of April. People are saying May/June but I extremely doubt that although I won’t rule it out(will be extremely dissapointed). Just tune in.

There was another slight hint in that interview saying that the patch will be after CBT3 and before the China release and CBT3 ends on the 25th of March so my guess is that it will either be at the end of this month or at the very beginning of April. I’m expecting it to be at the end of this month because of the WvW season. But……who knows.

4) Don’t give up, this game WILL surprise you. My girlfriend and I were completing the Hirathi Hinterlands last night and came to the final skill point and point of interest we needed in the North East of the map. We’d done tons of events during the evening but not really seen many people other than ourselves. We get to the last bit and a massive gate is closed and won’t open so we figure it’s something to do with an event that was just starting. Before we know it we’re fighting a Champion Hirathi, then holding off hordes of Centaurs, then we go back into the main bit to see 3 Champion War Beasts and all of a sudden we’ve gone from 5 of us doing the event to 25+. Once we took the beasts down we had to destroy this massive Earth Elemental thing followed by another Champion Centaur.

It took about 30 mins to do all of it and it was really intense at times but I really have never experienced anything like it. It has completely relit my love for this game and I can’t wait to find more events like this.

Sorry to ruin the magic, but that centaur boss is tracked by every boss tracker website (eg. GW2 Stuff), and those people that appeared out of nowhere at the very end were just world boss farmers (since that’s the only part that gets flagged). They just wanted their daily chest…

Does it matter? If there’s people like that around then that means that these events will stay alive. I probably won’t return to Hirathi Hinterlands for a while now that I’ve 100%‘d it, but as long as the ’Event trackers’ keep going there then new people will continue to experience the event like I did rather than missing out on a brilliant part of the game. I don’t give a kitten if people want a chest or not, what does it matter to me if 25 different people are there for different reasons, so long as we kill a boss it makes no difference.

I would like to know your definition of ‘special’ as you seem to be hard to impress. The OP raised concern that he never got to do group events so I shared with him one of the experiences I’ve had so that he would have some reassurance that PvE is not always empty. Whether they’re genuine players or event trackers it doesn’t matter, it would be very difficult to co-ordinate having 25+ people in one area at the same time without the help of event trackers.

First couple of months of game release was special. Lots of players everywhere.

Anyway, if you’re impressed by this, I guess you’ll have a blast farming with the Queensdale champ farmers. You’ll fit right in.

Stop being a troll. You’re obviously dodging around the point of his story. We all live for those moments in the game. Who cares what those people are doing. Its about your experience, not theirs. Just ignore him, he realized he was wrong and is resulting to insults to try to make himself seem like a big man.

I love when those things happen though, I’ve had it before, or when you spend hours trying to defeat something and failing and then when all odds are against you, you somehow defeat it. I’ve taken screenshots of these moments that may be meaningless to someone else but not to me. Wish they came more often though ;P
