Lol that’s what you played the game for? A legendary? I thought people played it for the content O.o at least I do
Its not as cool if everyone has one. Its a lot more valuable to show off when its not as common. Stop complaining that you can’t get everything in the game. Sometimes pieces are there to be not as common.
You’re definitely a minority. People like large weapons. Roll an asura.
It isn’t Dessa labelling the portal though.
In the game world there is no floating yellow text that says “gateway to Lions Arch”
That text is purely there for the players and as such it should be corrected.
How do you know that? Maybe there is text there so the people of Styria know where they’re going. I mean there’s so many portals next to each other in certain cities how would they know which is which? I don’t see any signs. O.o
O.o. I didn’t even know that was the goal.
I have had 0 problems with getting up when downed in LA. I almost always rally within seconds of getting downed or for some reason I’m really lucky compared to your post and get rezzed right before I die. Only had to wp once and it wasn’t even a big deal when I did either. Just wp, its not hard. And when you’re asking for peoples help while farming heirlooms you’re not really helping people out with the event either. Think its funny that you posted that you were “quietly collecting heirlooms” ie:farming and posted a pic of someone saying they were farming bags. Same thing.
LOL, sounds like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag or something. I wouldn’t be against something like this but I would much rather other things come first such as:
Better sPvP
Better class balance
New Weapons
New Legendaries
New Class
New Race
And the list goes on ;P
Lol, they won’t nerf Ele by looking at someones build. They nerf it when people make videos with easy ownage. So don’t worry, nothing here is getting needed, with build or without. That video doesn’t show anything op.
Eles are getting buffed this next patch. So there is something to look forward to in the forseable future.
Thanks guys
Those last 2 responses is what I was looking for. Thank you.
According to wikie
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pristine_Fractal_Relic
They are once per day, per account, per level.
So does that mean if I am on max level 5 and complete it and my next level is 6 I can get one their too? I just can’t go down a level from max? Or just once per day no matter what?
I do teq plenty. Its done quite a bit. On all servers? No.
And then all the new players are discovering areas not tied to world completion and are saying, “wtf am I doing wrong?”. You can see how it gets confusing when areas that are not tied to it are scattered between areas that are tied to it with no way if funding out which ones are without leaving the game. Not to mention about that code your saying is a big deal is already implemented into the game when they made wvw maps count towards completion. Don’t think those chars got 4 gifts for completing wvw.
Yes, the issue currently is that conditions are extremely powerful and op in PvP/WvW while extremely underpowered using them against AI in PvE. I’d rather have them toned down and fixed in PvP to make it more competitive instead of noob friendly/skill less, and have PvE just focused on DPS. PvE doesn’t “need” conditions to win, all it would do is give them another option while in PvP condition soecs are basically needed to win and is brainless spam aoe.
The macs your problem ;P. But I’ve never seen anyone or myself had any problems with guesting. Does it happen continuously? Like it wasn’t just the last time you guested?
Because people complain that its too much and not fair even though its not truly map completion.
If you want to have the most fun kd go with elementalist. It has the most abilities to use with different elements and its actually getting buffed this next patch. You are more active with the character via switching into different elements based on what you need at that time be it healing, protection, crit/speed, or damge,/conditions instead of using the same 2 attacks over and over and switching to ranged when you need to.
I’ll say this again lol. Until dungeon bosses and mobs AI becomes better instead of telegraphed with a constant cycle of attacks dungeons will always be easy once someone figures out where to stack or when to attack. These bosses need to have random attacks and better attacks that they use such as when you’re stacked in a corner for x amount of time it will throw knockdown at you. I don’t know, I just know that in order to get hard mode you need better AI or else it will only be hard in the beginning till someone figures out the mechanics of the bosses and then it will be easy. Hell, giving them a profession would make it harder lol. Just think of a boss thief who keeps going in is and backstabbing you, or a PU mesmer throwing out mad conditions with chaos fields while going in is at the same time. Of course they would have to be attacks that are not in a rotation or else it would just get figured out again.

Thanks for all the responses! Although I still find it hard to decide because everyone was back and forth on it, lol. Let’s just pray that the ele gets more hp on a patch here soon. I decided to go with vitality as my build in the first link shows. I just feel that my overall crit % is low for deciding to put my stats into that area. Because I know I can get plenty more power from might stacking. I guess my question is should I ditch the zerker gear and just go all soldier for power, vitality, and toughness? Or is having around 30% crit still worth it?

I really don’t get why people make these threads if you’ve already purchased it tbh. Use Google to find the new updates and jump into the game and play it to see if you like it. Its only 2 clicks away.
I do agree that there should be less name clutter, especially enemies in wvw as hiding behind a corner doesn’t really help when you’ve got a big name hovering over your head. As for the others, that’s personal preference
So you ask for less clutter with names and then add 30 more things to clutter the screen. No thanks. The currency suggestion just boggles me as its just 2 clicks away and would put like 20 things on your screen at once.
Heck ya it is. Need to level up. Get some gear. Get some moneys. All takes time. And by the time you’re all readied up, the huge update their supposed to give will hopefully be about ready. This year is supposed to be a big year for guild wars 2, especially with all the competition coming g this year they have to do something big to stay in it/on top.
Did… did you just suggest that they start now, so they can spend a month or two just getting ready to have fun?
Sigh
But still, good point. The Devs like sticking story stuff at level 80. (Level 1-15 zone? Let’s put a level 80 instance there! An upleveled 12 can handle that, right? And let’s stick our toughest world bosses in mid-ranged zones!) I don’t see them changing that now.
So, yeah. Might want to jump in and start grinding. I’d avoid any ascended gear, though. The big update may change builds and gear enough that you’d regret the time and effort spent on getting it.
Lol no I didn’t. Leveling and achieving that gear is fun to me. Playing the game gets you what you want. If you want to do it fast and grind that’s different.
Is this game still worth getting into?
I’d say no. ArenaNet still seems to be at a crisis point where they are figuring out what the game is supposed to be. I’d wait three to six months, and see what happens after the game weathers the launch of several competitors, finishes the first living story season, and gets into its next stage of development.
By then, it should be clearer where GW2 is headed, and what kind of player it wants as its audience.
If he has the game why not play it instead of waiting forever for a competitor to come out. That makes no sense lol. The game is extremely fun and I’d recommend playing it to have fun and by the time all the new big stuff comes out you’ll have extra fun for being leveled up to play that content.

I got to admit during the first 6 months after I reached lvl 80 I didn’t like my asura at all. I found it too small to see any of my cool looking weapons and the armor used to look very ugly to me. I wanted a sexy human female instead. The consumable makeup item was released and I immediately took it to increase the size of my asura. Now she was at max size and the weapons were clearly visible. After that I started to love the animations, emotes (specially the /threaten and /laugh) and now I even love how a few armor look amazing on her for my liking.
Agreed! I love my ele asura. I made him max height and I dwarf those small asuras. It’s crazy how small they are, lol. Asura all the way, nobody else can flip and actually look like they are dodging not to mention I think some of the armor looks kitten on an asura. Also, take the Incinerator as example, on the asura the flames literally go up the whole entire arm while holding it so it looks a lot more kitten with a whole flame arm.
So I’ve been messing around with a build editor trying to find the perfect build for myself. So is toughness actually worth it to gear towards? I mean, not as a major in anyway. But all I ever hear is that toughness does almost nothing and people who have 6k toughness (exaggeration) still get busted down by thieves and such in seconds. So would it be smarter to biff all the toughness and just go more with crit damage/power and boost up my vitality? Instead of giving myself some vitality, power, some crit damage, and toughness? This is what I’ve build in the build generator mainly disregarding toughness.

Let me know what you think. I was trying to give myself some survivablity via hp, and go for power, precision, and crit damage. Note that this is going mainly towards roaming as a person who isn’t anywhere near advanced with an elementalist yet but not bad either.
(edited by Cush.4063)
- HP up to memsers for some survivability without dying in seconds
- RTL CD reverted back, 40 sec is ridiculous
*Everybody else has some great suggestions but these are my main, especially the HP
Lol I just had a match a day or two ago in teamq where a necro was seriously just wandering around the map on foefire. Literally wandering the middle of the map not doing anything/fighting people that came near him. I kept asking in team chat what he was doing as we needed support at mid and he just kept wandering the whole match. The match ended and he was rank 1. This should not be happening.
Hell I’d tell your friends to buy it from the gw2 website to give them support at the full price. Continuous 2 week updates with new content that most all companies make you pay $15 a month or make it pay to win with an in game store is a steal. And even when you pay $15 a month they usually don’t give you content updates ever but an expansion pack that you have to pay for. Its pretty cheap
Your friends will be exceptionally happy with such a purchase or at least I was especially with all the new major content being released in the next couple of months its a great time to buy.
Color hasn’t been tied to ranking for awhile from what I understand and it would make sense that before I transferred a couple days ago I was on anvil rock and we were green, and then we won that week, and we moved to red. So I’m pretty sure they aren’t based on rankings.
I would think so, yes.
Minotaurs, Minotaur everywhere! :p
Someone’s a lightweight. Took me 5 min.
Ya, that’s not global. They were trying to be fair and giving an example from each of those regions and showed how many that did the survey were from each one. Kinda sucks this went to links ville. Bad mod decision. Not one person will see it now. Yet anybody else can post links to other things. This isn’t a fan site. Like wtf?
Fastest way to level is by crafting, will get you as far 56 levels but that costs a lot of gold. So if you don’t plan on buying it the best and fastest would be through WvW by clicking “B” and clicking one of the borderlands, preferably Eternal Battlegrounds or Edge of the Mists and finding that blue commander tag. sPvP is a good way to level and make some coin as a newer player and get better at the game quickly. BUT, I recommend completing the maps by getting all the hearts, vistas, and points of interest done because when you end up wanting a legendary weapon and you speed leveled, you’ll end up regretting not doing it first in the beginning like I did because you need mal completion in order to get it lol.
Although I agree people exaggerate a lot of things on these forums such as 4v5, sPvP does have some big issues that need to be fixed/added to make it more popular because atm it is the most unpopular and disliked aspect of the game. But I still love it, especially since I know they are improving it. But good luck man!
That was a good read and extremely interesting. It seems that GW2’s customers love the game even more then when it first came out. The only area that has reason to complain is sPvP although WvW has dropped in population but I bet after the EotM release it increased a lot more. Literally almost everything has steadily increased since launch when it comes to satisfaction when they were already really high.
It’s kind of interesting the topic on the cash shop. Most players agree that the prices are unreasonably high, but most people do think that they do have interesting things in there and it is not pay to win. Which I think we all know that.
As far as the releases go, most people liked the Super Adventure Box. Please give it back? lol. Also, 80% of respondents would be interested in purchasing a major expansion. Cmon Anet, give it to us. I would pay for it if it was that good.
When it comes to favorite class, it looks about right to me. Guardian being the fav, while warrior and elementalist being second. One for cheese, and the other for different flavors. Guess which is which? I was surprised Necro was last though, I thought it would be Engi or Ranger.
Anyways, thanks for the link! It was a great read and I suggest other people read as well.
The devs have access to a developers tool which gives them anything in game they want.
Dawn, 1 button press, I have Dawn.
Eternity, press button, I have Eternity.
They do not after do any grinding…
They do not after wait 3 months to get a item because of timegating…
They need it to test stuff obviously but there is a disconnect with the devs thinking everything is real easy to get.
That’s just not true. They actually have stated multiple times already that they don’t have any extra-commands on the live-servers; at the very least not any commands that give them items and stuff. They are pretty much playing like we all are; except that they’ve got that logo while representing the anet-guild.
I have video proof!
Just type, ‘guild wars 2 developer guide’ in youtube search engine and you can see the the developers tools in action by watching any of the guides.
I am sure many members of Anet play there characters normally but I am sure many have cheated to give themselves equipment too.
Those are not on the live servers. If you watch any of the live stream a they have they teleport and type in code to kill mobs but those are on test servers.
Getting ddos’d again? Everyone on Anvil Rock at least is getting major lag
I use so basic salvage kits for all my magic find. Well worth it for sure.
Welcome.
Chances are you will find its $40 well spent.
Read players helping players forum to help you get over the learning curve.
Also, remember that 99% of players are level 80, doing level 80 stuff. So the levelling zones will be quiet.
If you want loads of players around you when you level, you can level via World vs World (particularly the new Edge of the Mists map) or the champion train in Queensdale.
Map your dodge to middle mouse button and use it often.
Queens Dale champ train is not a good way for someone to learn how to level with mindless grinding in a circuit making new players think that’s how you play the game and then quit.
Otherwise, welcome! Join a healthy high populated server if you want more populated lower level areas. I know all the servers say they have a high population but they don’t. Go to the main gw2 page and click on rankings and then wvw rankings and from their you will see the highest populated servers. I’d go with a tier two or three server. GL!
This has been asked a million times. Like everyone said. Now there is a program out there that allows you to move with your mouse instead of right clicking with an “X” in the middle of the screen so you can zoom in and play it more action combat wise and according to reddit, Anet said this program is allowed because it doesn’t alter anything in the game and actually just puts an X in the middle of the screen and acts as if you’re holding down right mouse button the whole time. BUT, if you’re specifically asking for first person view as in inside the character, seeing out of their eyes with your weapon in front of you I don’t see it happening anytime soon. This isn’t ESO ;P
What server do that play on? And how do you know if they are a dev? They have a tag like commanders or something? Just curious.
I still prefer to mist form and leap to my doom then be spiked..lol..at least it seems like your option to die not theirs to kill you >.>
Bahahaha, I do the same thing. I’d rather them not get the satisfaction of finishing me off and jumping on my corpse and /laugh me so I give them the finger and mist form off the cliff.
They are making big changes to the game from what the devs had said. They said the change from crit damage to ferocity is the first step in this. I also want to tell you that conditions are also a major problem in sPvP as well, as they are ridiculously overpowered.
He’s asking if his friends will get the buff if they are farther than 600 meters from the banner because the mob is. No.
Yes, about 18 posts prior sneaky posted a couple links about it
Well just lagged out and got booted a second time >.> so that explains my framerate issues that I posted several seconds before I lagged out
