The only time you need to jump is if you are climbing rocks, gravestones or something of that nature to escape. 99% of people getting this bug just random jump all over like they are avoiding skills doing so. Fix for them, is to stop jumping for nothing. It is an issue that needs to be addressed and has gone to long unchecked. Other time but more rare is when someone falling and gets imobed. For example…walking off clock tower to get home with someone behind you; imbos you right as you start your fall..etc.. OR a leap move that doesn’t cause evade.
what is fix for those classes that get immobed mid of leaping skills and can#t use any spells?

Honestly, i am really tired of
- facing same premades over and over and over again while i am qing alone.
- having 3v5 games which happen way too often
Expecting everyone to have full 5 man team on TS is unrealistic.
Please give us back soloq.
I am sure if anet would lose 100 bucks every time 5 soloq faces full premades they would go bankrupt by now.

To be fair, I think the Engineers have been crying for years now to make Kits look appealing – and I think it could solve a lot if they looked kitten rather than hobo-sacks :P
Though I agree… They are trying to attract people to it in an ambiguous way… Or so it seems
That is my point:
- make engi spells look epic, something like asura style for example (they have plenty of cool looking tools, turrets etc.)
- make pve rotation not so hard to execute so engis are on par with wars/eles and co. in dungeons rotation wise

engis are still one of the least played classes in gw2 overall so anet probably would give them even more turrets if they could fit it on the spell bar so ppl reroll engis and improve statistics…

I don’t even bother pvping anymore on my thief as i know i will get killed every time i will try to use HS and someone is smart (or random) enough to use immob at that time.
Will you also tell us not to use weapons because of this “small” bug that prevents player from using any spells unless their character dies or immob runs out?

i have seen this before too… really annoying as not many classes have high ranged dmg from begin with and this placement makes killing them almost impossible :/

If by leg issue you mean the weird curving on the left foot, I reported it as a bug in the past but nothing has happened. Since it has been in the game since launch, I suspect the leg is posed like that on purpose—despite the ugly twist that causes boots to be warped.
pose isn’t an issue, legs themself are twice as thick as they suppose on certain sylvari models… i literary can’t wear any knie high boots on this character because boots look like made for tall norn and not tiny sylvari

WTB new body types for total make over kit at least.
Preferably that don’t involve unproportianlly oversized legs and shoulders by sylvari or that include curvy/leaner female norns~
i am talking about this leg issue btw (that been out there since launch and makes most boots/pants unwearble as it just looks really bad)
you might think why bother? but new decent body types would make a lot of skins (gem store ones included) actually good option so i can see how it could increase some skin sales~
P.S. the joke is, this human is bigger than my sylvari character yet has somehow decent legs even in biggest shoes in game…

- any engi build, really any – too much of everything, anet favorite child since 2013
- dd ele – too much drooling, too little risk for high reward

tl/dr: backstab already has too many requirements and is not worth it in many cases; making it even more punishing will leave the spell obsolete… removing the spell won’t change anything as it is not what kills you most of the time
So let me understand it.
For backstab to even do measy 4k dmg following requirements need to be fullfilled:
- stealth
- hit from the back (because facestab is worse dmgwise than AA)
- actually crit which requires 6 pts inc rit basically sacrificing a lot of surivival
- actually hit target in melee range
- thief actually need not die to all aoe, random attacks and what not while getting in position.
Not to mention that even if you successfully do land backstab (or after your suggestion not even execute it) it puts 4 sec reveleaed on thief thus leaving them extremely vulnerable as they don’t have blocks, big heals, invul etc.
Now let’s look closer at requirements:
stealth – usually archived by either dumping in a lot of intitiative or blowing relative long CDs thus causing thief to sacrifice survival and/or potential dmg… i would also like to mention that stealth doesn’t last forever, in most cases thief has very short window to land backstab or stealth falls off… many invul/block etc. spells last as long if not longer than base stealth duration.
- hit from the back is actually harder to archive as it may sound as 1) targets are usually moving in pvp 2) this game really does suck at registering weither or not you hit someone from the back 3) hitting from the back also requires thief to actually go in melee range thus putting themself in extreme danger of being nuked before they even can land any attack.
- crit % requirements: as said, requires investment either from traits and/or amulet; usually both thus denying thief even more survival leaving them no choice but running glass cannon… keep in mind that as stated above backstab requires thief to go in mid of fire, so to say, while being absolute glass.
- actually land an attack: now this one is also pretty tricky considering amount of blocks (instant), invul (instant), blinds (instant/automatical) in game… not to mention random dodges.
All of that is for measy 4k backstab (crit) which is most cases is even lower due to facestab and perma protection on current meta builds.
Yes, it may hit sometimes, when all stars line up, for 8k or so in pvp on zerker but is rather rare and in 90% of the cases it is not even worth all the risk and requirements it demands. By the time you actually manage to sucessfully execute backstab you probably would have done double of dmg by spamming auto attack – yes, this is how sad backstab is actually atm.
Now considering all that, you suggest that backstab should reveal thief right away no matter weither they landed backstab or not so thief should be punished even further for even trying to execute it.
If this (rather absurd) idea really would get implemented i think following things would need to change as well:
- no attack can follow or hit thief while they are in stealth (that includes aoe)
- stealth skills are not interruptable
- pets stop following/attacking thief after he entered stealth and don’t follow/attack him unless pet owner executed attack on thief
- attacks from stealth don’t trigger passive procs like from nightmare runes or trait/spells like counter attack from ranger or blind from turret engi
- backstab doesn’t require to hit target from the back anymore
- spells like block/invul/protection/aoe blind now have a cast time
just to make it “fair”.
P.S. i personally can’t believe that you suggest thief suppose to predict instant spells like invul/block etc.

yep, can’t run p1 anymore
she keeps running toward the dome after 1st boss and pushed back non stop completely ignoring player group; that way gate is blocked so players can’t proceed the dungeon
only way around it atm is to hope someone on party has invulnerability spell and walks into dome while under invul effect

Whatever you did in the patch, it brought back immob bug that caused your character to be stuck in their air and not able to use any spells is back.
Happens also with any leaping skills. For example immob + heartseeker = enjoy getting stuck in the air and unable to use any spells untill your character dies or immob runs out.
D/P for example is unplayable atm because of this :/

actually defiant stance would have been just as ‘OP’ as some ppl claim healing signet to be
weapon swap trait didnt have anything do do with it being possible in fact I did my first attempt with mai trin build (66002) accidently and i got shaman down to 40% in that one
can agree on the survival part, because of being able to tank 1 hit instead of 1 shotted but all of that doesent make it impossible to do on any other class
yeah but weapon swap trait allows you to switch weapons and get access to corresponding defensive spells more often (example GS evade, sword OH block) compared to other classes
as far as HS goes, my point is you don’t need to see your HP bar for it as it requires no activation or timing

These all sound like (and not surprisingly come from) thief ideals. I wouldn’t say it’d totally fix it for people who can’t just teleport around. It fixes it for you guys, but you’re by and large, not the only people who are affected by it. :P

i think the HP threshold is mainly the issue if anything
33% might sound a lot but given low thief HP it is actually nothing, you can go below 33% in literary 1 hit so predicting when LR gonna hit or not is actually almost impossible on thief
if thieves had as much HP as bunker necro, maybe it was actually manageable and you could plan around it….
also it gotta be only 1 trait in entire game that you can’t disable if you go SA and that is designed to actually get you killed instead of helping you
