if he switches to grenades, go in sb and kite him while spamming choke/cluster bomb; when he gets low HS his kitten
avoid magnet pull

if you couldn’t interrupt crate, just leave

at the end, it comes down to dodging right spells and not let him overload you with condis

yes i want them to acknowledge officially that something is going on even if they can do nothing about it
at the least it would be fair towards people who have not yet bought the game and have no idea what they will be getting into, but ofc profit dictates the rules

actually they can do something… yesterday lag for example was at ncsoft servers, it was only node where i had 100% packet los

WTB report option for leavers/afkers….i don’t understand why it is still not in game?

Person feeds enemy half match, rages and leaves match and doesn’t get punished in any way for ruining match for other players. Why is it ok?

It seems like us poor germans are being hit the hardest here. After a couple of mails with customer support I was asked to contact my ISP.
The PingPlotter on the other hand showed me that everything was fine until the signal reached the Frankfurt server.

Germans problem is that your ISPs give no kitten about problems.
And Telia is #1 I give no kitten about anything except dough.

Ya, noticed you lagging like crazy in our Tournament yesterday evening.
Everyone’s connection seems fine, so I really can’t understand why there has been nothing done about it yet.

On the other hand, they’re (Anet) stationed in NA, so they can’t really experience the problems we have back here, in EU I guess.

reason is, my whole team plays from UK/sweden while i play from Germany and get routed through Frankfurt… go figure

i did post quite few times that is hardly fun to get one sided matches where you just pretty much farm enemy team at their spawn point :/

the current matchmaking isn’t fun neither for winning nor for losing team in long run

not so amazing players shouldn’t be facing full premades or good players in general, it will just lead to both sides quiting pvp at some point (for good players because of boredom, for bad players because of frustration of contantly losing) and reducing community overall

old matchmaking/LB/yoloq vs teamq was flawed but was better than current one in some ways imo

…Allowing us to manually reset are MMR once in awhile. Perhaps once a month or maybe every other month.

With the new back-end servers we can do this, but I’m unsure if or when we’d be want to do this. I’ve mentioned it to the team on several occasions, but I don’t recall what the designers said, and I know it just isn’t as high a priority as other work right now.

I am finding myself in matches that are too easy to me because before the switch to the new leaderboards I multiclassed a lot in solo queue and accumulated losses on some of my off classes. I have no idea what else would be possible to help players to play at their skill levels if they’re stuck in a weird MMR spectrum.

Then again I have played against some players like Ostrich Eggs and others who have high MMR in the past month.

These kind of matches can be caused by a number of things, but rating is probably the least responsible. Nearly everytime I’ve looked up a bad match, rating was usually the strongest factor trying to prevent the match.

No, I don’t think that.

I’m aware there are some critical combinations of things (team comp, # of people queued at your rating, rank, etc..) that can be very detrimental to match quality. Those things will drop quality regardless of rating accuracy or emphasis.

That’s not to say rating is perfect. I’ve got it on my todo list to explain in more detail in a forum post, but here is the gist of two problems that are now fixed.

  1. Early on after the Dec 2nd build there was a bug that caused deviation to stay at the max. This bug was caused by a mismatch between how I was calculating the amount of time that elapsed since the last time you played. One section of code worked in milliseconds and the other in microseconds. I had poor test coverage of this code which is why it was missed.
  2. Due to some improvements we made intended to more accurately reflect a player’s impact on a team when updating ratings, the rating changed much slower. Unfortunately deviation was still changing at the normal rate which mean people zero’d in sooner than they should have relative to where their rating was. I’m still not 100% certain how much an effect this had on match quality, but I’m optimistic the fix will improve things.

These two impacted some players (especially those that had desertions early on before #1 was fixed) more than others causing them to have wildly inaccurate ratings that took far too long to adjust to where they should be.

These problems are both fixed now, and we did the partial-reset so that anyone affected will stabilize in their proper location much sooner. We could have done a full reset, but it was a minority of players that were hugely affected.

Everyone will benefit from the fix to #1, but you may not notice the impact of the fix because it will still take time for the population to spread out and stabilize.

Notice that both these problems aren’t with Glicko2, but how I set up the servers to use it. Mae Culpa.

Even with these problems, for players unaffected by the bugs the ratings are still mostly accurate. E.g. the top players are still the top players.

use 6 in trickery so you can steal stability and interrupt rf if you got knocked back

really there are only 3 things to watch out
- avoid intial RF (dodge, los, interrupt)
- dodge roots/cleanse them with stolen ability
- kite/stealth when they got invul up

most of the time rangers are easy food, for dp at least
you can blind most of his attacks as well as pet with BP
inf. signet helps to close gaps (especially precast BP+ signet)
you can blast stolen spell to heal up

also there is a trick, if ranger RF you and you are close enough, you can get on top of them and walk through them which allows you to avoid at least some part of RF

Ehhh the issue is just enemy has garanteed 1 point capped unless you happend to have staff ele on your team which will be probably farmed by everyone else on enemy team.

Also, the fact that you need multiple players to kill 1 engi or just have to ignore the point says a lot about the build.

I might not mind the build itself if it wasn’t so braindead and too rewarding… makes me wonder why even bother playing high risk classes?

Game should motivate player to become better and actively react in combat and not degenerate to afk botting playstyle but that’s my opinion…

After this game been for a while it is quite clear what balancing strategy anet is following (which is pretty much same for any gaming company out there)… they couldn’t care less that class/build XY is too strong/braindead and what not as long as they get their statistics right so i wouldn’t get any hopes for any engi nerfs for year or 2 at least~
