the only flaw i see with it is that might is very low on priority list for boon removal so it will mostlikely never (unless necro uses corrupt) get “blocked” … however might is one of the main factors defining current meta imo
in generall i do like the idea althrough it might be huge hit on guardians

least picked classFor yourself you have these…what point is there to give the numbers overall? You should feel for yourself what class you fare best with, not follow the fotm. Cause that’s a problem that often repeated itself in WoW.
People will reroll fotm regardless charts or not. I just want to see those statistics and wondering why in gw2 they are not available.

Don’t want to be too mean here but let’s face it: current leaderboards basically shows whoever got better bot running ranked 24/7. The proof is pretty obvious too as certain current “top” of the players has to be botting because his character just runs same route every match from respawn to the same spot and doesn’t even fight back if you actually catch them mid of their “route”.
At this point i would rather have old leaderboards where players actually were awarded for wins and not for how many matches you farmed (no matter results)~
What is the point of doing ranked now? You get similar reward for unranked. Leaderboards were only difference and now it is just bot fest zzzzz.
WTB old system or some improvement to ranking system that would be more based on wins than amount of games played.
Inb4: omg they want ranking to show off and what not. Maybe so. My personal issue is that you don’t even get decent teammates or decent enemies anymore if you actually play plenty of ranked. If you get up there, there is mostly brainless bots running and games are not fun.

All I see is tears from people who prefer crying over trying to counterplay better & trying to adjust to the metagame and wish to be competitive but fail at doing so.
not everyone enjoys hybrid tank staring at hybrid tank for 15 min playstyle, punching dummy is probably more exciting than current gameplay… except meta forces you into that garbage

i run pretty much same build as i run in pvp, caed’s d/p trickery except with 2 in SA
zerker gear, zerker weps… can throw some valk in it but food/wvw stacks usually cover surival stats anyway… that is ofc if you are decent on thief since build is pretty glassy

1. we will see some changes in spring probably
2. they won’t change anything that would remotely nerf engis

Good thieves prevail, bad thieves rerolled engis/eles/wars or anything really that runs current meta (aka celestial might stacking crap).
Too much effort to play one when you can drool on keyboard as cele ele and collect points. Thieves by itself are not bad the current meta just favors other classes/builds, besides you don’t want more than 1 thief on team.
Obviously consistent nerfs every single patch are not exactly big motivation for playing the class.

1) ranger – because most of them run brainless rapid fire build and never cap anything, nor rez anyone, nor stomp, nor decap… all they ever do is sit on ledge and pew pew
2) thieves… because i main thief myself and more thieves on team decreases win chances by a lot
Not sure why people hate mesmers, if you coordinate burst with mesmer you can keep entire team at spawn all match + portal bombs is not something to laugh at. Then again it seems like in current meta people enjoy sitting afk on tanky hybrid and stare at other tanky hybrids~

Hello everyone,
seeing as there are very few teams out there and quite few players looking for one i decided to start one myself.
General requirements/preferences:
- be open minded (i am starting a team and it will require certain patience/commitment)
- 1000+ ranked games played
- know rotations, own class etc.
- be available around 8-12 pm CET
- 18+ year old…
- mic/ts
Classes/builds list:
- celestal ele
- shout war
- engineer
- mesmer
- necro
- bunker guard
In generall all classes welcome for try outs, if you are good at it.
Builds are open for discussion. At the moment i am looking to build a core group first.
I don’t expect members to be on every day but at least on practice day (mostlikely weekends/friday).
Prefered language is english. German (as i live in Germany myself) is welcome however if teammates happend to be from different countries we will stick to english~
As side info: i love pvp(been pvping in pretty much every mmo i played before) and joined this game only for pvp althrough i spent fair amount of time in fractals/wvw, i have been around top 100-300 on NA before i moved to EU servers, main thief <3

^yea i understand that but if the MMR system was working as intended i would eventually go up against a team in which the team i was on had a close game, but it hasnt been like that.
because community is small and game looks for next best fit which results in lopsided matches
if we had divisions and actually big community it probably wouldn’t be such an issue
all you can do is to assume that 4 people on your team are bots and carry them harder hehe

besides dmg it lacks utility/defensives/mobility… not to mention that every class in this game has more range than p/p thief – GL getting in range w/o moblity while they pew pew at you
another problem is while p/p by itself isn’t great the pistol combos with other weapons are; if they buffed p/p in some way it would just cause p/d or d/p being too good

even in 5v5 the games have been really lopsided. I tend to score pretty high on either team but as a whole we get steamrolled. /sigh
personal score is not what wins game, issue is mostly behind teams capping points and never defending them

I was 1v2ing just fine i didnt really have any trouble killing anyone who came at me. The 4v5 made things next to impossible but at least 3/9 games have been 4v5. I dont mind losing if the game is somewhat close but games have not been even remotely close.
ah that… i think it has something to do with the bug…
currently if you queue up you get randomly kicked from queue…
also if you DC from match you might not be able to come back
also, sometimes ppl get queue popped mid match and accept it

Well basically the way the game feels (for me at least) is that you have to be able to 1v3 if you want to win any match..
I have won matches if could do it (or at least stale 3 enemies for very long time)… i lost pretty much every single match where i wasn’t capable to handle multiple enemies at the same time by myself…. reason? Whole team rushes far ans keeps dying there whole match. EVERY SINGLE GAME… unless i queue with someone.
I really wish this game had better tutorials or something :/

thieves are not issues, it is celestial might stacking meta allowing bunkerish classes still do too much dmg while having silly amount of healing and tankiness overall
looking at the past patches, i doubt anything would change in ANY positive direction for thieves, ever… however everyone is already fed up with current “cheese” so maybe anet will listen for once and change meta a bit overall

In 2 games that I won today i was disconnected. In both matches i come back and of course helped in winning.
But at the end i lost 2pt for each match, yes ? So, it means that in total i lost 6pt. This is so much frustrating!!!
Why can you ad check at the end of match whether player is present and gained points and has same class as at the beginning ? If conditions are fulfilled player receive normal points instead being punished for desertion.BTW i didn’t lost communication on TS during those matches so, it wasn’t my internet connection problem.

Question to people that hate the Cele bruiser meta. Why? Can anyone please articulate their thoughts on the toxicity of Cele bruisers for the enjoyment of the game.
I didn’t read the rest of this post, but screw it. Here’s my reasons why I hate this meta:
- It Minimalizes Working Builds – No one plays bunker guardian. Why? Did it get weaker? No. We just gained the ability to have builds that work in pretty much every situation. The teamwork factor that comes with proper rotations is gone. It’s just about matching numbers and being a better cele. There are no “jobs” anymore. I don’t make a build with the intend of a single goal like bursting, support or bunkering, I make a build with the intent of being able to do everything.
- Certain aspects of play are gone – Rotating the right stuff to the right place has turned into just matching numbers. Watching out for bursts is pretty much gone. It’s just outsustain right now. You might go for a focus fire, but that’s not really the same thing. Stomps are also pretty rare now, especially in team fights. No bunker guardian made it so players are pretty much only going for DPS outs, even against things like warriors! DPSing out a target isn’t really that interesting to me. The play of trying to maintain DPS so you can get a stomp off is a lot more interesting.
- Mobility isn’t a counter – These comps play on all three points. They’re pretty kitten fast too unless you’re taking a necromancer. Thief, ele and engi are all really fast.
- They’re really hard to duel against – It’s not about getting a good burst off, it’s about getting multiple bursts off while not letting them even get one. If I want to kill a cele engi on power nades, I’ve found that I need anywhere from 2-4 really good bursts to get them down. In a row. They really only need to maintain pressure via burning and occasionally get a few hits in.
- It DOES take less skill – Is the skill ceiling still high? Yes. There are a lot of things you can do with cele engi and ele to make yourself the best in the world. But the punishment for kittening those things up is WAY lower than most builds. On burst builds, kittening up, having bad positioning or focusing the wrong guy could equal death. Don’t even get me started on 100 mines and other like yolo builds.
- Burning On Cele is Dumb – This goes a bit beyond cele, but I think it’s a big reason why it works. Engineer has incendiary powder which is really hard to avoid. Ele has drake’s breath which requires two dodges to fully avoid and burns you for eternity (12s on a 6s recharge). Combustive Shot burns everyone. If you miss with this, uninstall GW2.
- Sustain is really hard to stop – For warrior, it’s healing signet which they never use and traits that regen them. For engineer, it’s a 1/2 cast time skill, backpack regenerator and transmute. For ele, it’s a dodge in water, small healing on all casts, regeneration and two skills you can actually interrupt. The only real good counter is poison, but they remove it so much that you need a crazy amount of poison to do it!
- Games going to Timer – Because there’s three decaps almost all the time, it’s boring to play and watch. I vastly prefer the super active fights where doing something wrong can spell death, not a slight loss in health. I want people to be making PLAYS, not just trying to stall the game/fights. “OH SNAP HE JUST GOT THE BURST OFF AND HE GOES DOWN” instead of “OH SNAP HE JUST GOT THE BURST OFF AND I THINK IF HE CAN GET LIKE 4 MORE IN THE NEXT 10 SECONDS WE MIGHT SEE SOMEONE DIE”.
- In the ideal game, every build is equally viable – Cele is a meta right now. People want to play their style of builds and not be worse off for it.
The concept of a build being able to do everything is broken. It’s called “Holes in Roles”. There are no decently enough sized holes in these builds.
