If your stability is removed, you can be affected by CC. If the thing that removes your stability also has a CC effect, you get CC’d.
Also to note: If Fear gets converted, it becomes Stability.
(…)- they STEALTH NERFED the training manuals and now they charge you $$$ for it – (…)
What did I miss?
Nothing, this guy thought you could use the training manuals to reset your traits, which you can’t, and you couldn’t.
[DX] your bags tastes extra delicious.
Tea bags?
Enjoying guilds like [GT] that roam together but refuse to fight unless there HoD zerg can back them up when they start to lose (which is always).
At least it’s an easy fight lol.
So Basic loses easy fights then calls in more guildmates? Difficult fights for you must be an even uglier sight than your personalities and pitiful attempts at trolling.
You can’t even talk, man, you’re from that [GT] guild; I saw at LEAST 6 of you noobs running together in AR borderlands, stupid zergers. 5 man god tier, if you don’t have 3 thieves and 2 guardians, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. All praise the forum warriors.
(Also guys in [BS], might want to recommend to your Asuran Engie friend not to go to sleep while attacking a keep gate, by the time he woke up, he was at 10% health!)
Enjoying guilds like [GT] that roam together but refuse to fight unless there HoD zerg can back them up when they start to lose (which is always).
Love you.
See you on the battlefield and we’ll see how your theory holds up, so far the only group that’s even remotely challenged us this week has been BS; nearly every other group only seems to have a chance to beat us when they outman us 2/1 or worse. If we think a fight isn’t absolutely pointless (see: fortified tower with 4 arrow carts in it) we fight.
Buying a Legendary directly is several hundred gold more expensive than making it yourself, because it takes into account the gathering of account bound items and people who make Legendaries to sell are often doing so for a large profit regardless.
I can’t believe people are still crying about ascended weapons/armor being added in.
Have you even looked at the stats the weapons give? It’s garbage. Not even remotely close to being worth it. If I make myself TWO one handed ascended weapons totaling almost 100 gold worth of material, I would get the following stat improvements TOTAL:
8 Power
.3% crit chance (yes, there’s a decimal there)
0% crit damageA SINGLE stack of might gives about 4 times more power.
Have you ever had a 1v1 against someone and have it come down to both players having 10hp left? Where 8 power would have made a difference? Nope. Doesn’t happen.
If you can’t beat someone wearing exotics while you wear rares, you won’t beat them even if you wear exotics. Simple as that.
I think you need to take a look at weapon damage.
Damage done = (Weapon Strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
When the comparative Weapon Strength between Ascended/Exotic is 106.06060606…%, that is approximately a 6% increase in damage with everything.
Ascended weapons give far more than the minuscule amounts of power, precision, etc… you get.
To the guy who mentioned that you should be able to beat people in Rares: Yes, you can have a vast amount of skill higher than your opponents, I win 1v2+’s all the time. But do you know what the difference between having Rare weapons versus Ascended weapons is? At the very least (only taking into account Weapon Damage, not even considering infusions/stat increases) it is a +20% damage increase if you’re the player with Ascended weapons. Now you can beat people with better gear than you, but being at a 20% disadvantage because you don’t have gear that takes a fair bit of effort to grind out seems a little excessive. The issue will be compounded when Armor comes out. Those without Ascended gear will not only be at a 20% damage disadvantage, they will be at a 10-15% damage resistance disadvantage, depending on how much toughness they bring.

Yeah, all signs point towards you being hit by a pirate using Impale, which applies Torment. I can’t imagine anywhere you would have seen the word Agony, you may have just had it on your mind, and since the words Agony and Torment aren’t all that different thematically, you just went straight to that.
Trust me, if Agony somehow bugged itself onto a mob in the overworld, you would know. It would probably be level 80 agony which does several hundred times your health in damage every second if you have no agony resistance.
(edited by Da Sonic.6521)
How much damage did it do to you and what did the animation on your character look like?
I believe it’s per individual character, with diminishing returns for each character past certain points. Other than that you sound correct.
Do you know if anyone changed the Guild Message?
Ascended weapons are worth 1 gold to a merchant. If you think you’ll never use it, pick something random and sell it to the merchant.
Used Zealot’s Embrace, full melee a lie.
The Spider boss needs some reflects or absorbs. Any reflects or absorbs. At all.
Simin needs players who understand the fight, it has even been nerfed several times already.
If anything, the other dungeon paths are far too easy and should be ramped up to the “difficult” people seem to have with these two. These two require an iota of communication and teamwork, something very few other dungeon paths provide.
Long story short, it’s called Dungeon Master because you mastered the dungeons, not because you got them nerfed.
I’ve had this happen to me twice today at Garrison and Bay. I’m present and attacking at both gates and help kill the Lord, stand in the circle and get no credit whatsoever for taking the keeps. It’s not a case of me just not doing enough, I’m the only condition user in a group of 5 that’s taking keeps.
Just the two keeps is nearly a full rank for me with my birthday booster up. Pretty annoying to miss out on that after the work it takes getting it set up.
A mix of Rabid and Dire is likely the best for WvW. You should bring enough Rabid to get a reasonable crit rate for Dhuumfire/bleed procs should you bring them, and then Dire for the rest.
The power from Carrion is pretty terrible for condition based Necros.
It adds precision as a percent of your toughness/vitality, and for the past 13 months the tooltip was bugged to say it gave power. Made it difficult to tell what I was going up against.
A thief who is stealthed is doing no damage to you. A thief who isn’t stealthed with “obscene damage” is about as durable as wet tissue paper.
There are a vast amount of skills with which to hit a stealthed Thief. All ground targetable AoEs, many cleaving auto-attacks, channeled attacks that are cast before the thief enters stealth.
Is stealth strong? Yes.
Is Death Shroud strong? Yes.
Are Eviscerate, clones, and (properly managed) pets strong? Yes.
Is there a counterplay mechanic to all of these strong things that make classes different?
I think you’ll find the answer is yes.
Also, my boss would like me to provide the information that you are approximately the 160,647th person to make a “[Class] is [Overpowered for some reason]” thread, and the 23,195th one to make one specific to thieves.
So after a bit of accidental perfect timing, the Tamini warband that attacks the Northwest supply camp survived. I decided to follow them after they left the camp, and evidently they go to the Northwest Tower.
This is an open call to every server to figure out what happens next if the Tamini get into that tower and survive.
I know you can do it.
My own flesh.

It’s not guaranteed to give Ori/Ancient, sometime it does drop Mithril/Elder wood.
In WvW small man:
S: _______________
A: Warrior, Guard, Thief, Necro
B: Elementalist, Mesmer, Ranger, Engie
C:_______________
The WvW game is surprisingly balanced, every class can and will be a threat.
Dungeon:
S: Elementalist, Thief, Warrior, Engie
A: Guard, Mesmer, Ranger
B: Necro
C: _______________
The Dungeon meta is all about personal DPS and vuln/party buffs.
Try opening your task manager and looking for a gw2.exe in the Processes tab. If there’s one running, click on it, then hit End Process.
GW2 won’t open another version if there is a process of it running in the processes. If the game crashed in an unexpected way, it may not have properly terminated the process.
If that doesn’t help, not sure what it’d be.
You have an insatiable appetite for apples, and always thought there was something sneaky about him.
How come you don’t use double-tap? No Unreal Tournament fans here??? =)
Walking forward a small distance in short bursts is important for positioning/precision jumps in Jumping Puzzles/SAB. Pressing a single button is half as many actions to dodge, and it doesn’t force me to let go of the direction I want to go while I dodge.
It’s just inherently more efficient and allows for more options.
It’s in beta, you don’t have access to it yet. You’ll get access to it soon. Be patient.
You can’t ask for people’s opinions and then imply their opinion is invalid by telling them to watch a video they have already watched.
That’s not how conversations work.
Here’s a video about cooperating, you should give it a watch and then maybe we can have a meaningful conversation about why arenanet can’t possibly intend for every single legitimate use of a skill when they create it.
It might be because I’m oldschool, but in my opinion, whoever has the shortest time interval between zoning in and getting the end reward has the record. The only thing prohibited should be third party software like telehacks and zoning in beforehand to prepare certain things before starting the video.
Other than that, to me, all is fair game.
I realize not many people on this forum will share that view, so I guess I could settle with the need to kill all bosses/complete all objectives along the way, but in my personal opinion, saying that all is fair game usually sparks more creative solutions to dungeons and encounters.
I’m with him.
Heck, if you wanted to keep the current “fastest possible time from zone to completion” and still show off the people who aren’t using these questionable methods, you could very easily have an any% and 100% category like the communities for a vast majority of other speedrunners do. Any% is just that, all methods are good-to-go, 100% can vary in definition for each particular game/dungeon path. In the case of most dungeons, I would think the death of every Legendary enemy in the path that can be killed (obviously exceptions for rng things like AC Cave Troll) would be a fair marker for 100%.
The skill leaves lots of bits of a trail, each bit of the trail does damage. Seems to be working perfectly fine to me. Is it perhaps stronger than lots of other options? Yeah, but the skill itself is working well within the functions they allowed it.
In the case of the Fiery Rush + Teleport, that’s most definitely like a bug, the player should continue running after they teleport.
At least when it happened to me, the game didn’t give me the option to send a crash report, it just froze and I had to go to my Task Manager and kill the application. I know a guildie was having similar issues the past few weeks too.
Well, for PvE, Dagger/X power build is pretty “viable”. Far better than Condition damage, for sure.
In WvW, A 30/20/0/0/20 can give you the extended fear+fear damage, in addition to the Dhuumfire trait, which gives a fair amount of burning. Typically ran with Scepter/Dagger and Staff, it’s not going to be the most engaging build, but it’s kitten near the most effective damage you can bring in smaller groups. Be warned, running this is pretty much going to make you public enemy #1, expect hammers flying at your face.
Don’t keep up with the sPvP scene, but in general heavy CC is shifting into the meta to counter the typical Necro builds that dominated for a good while. Dhuumfire itself got a nerf a while ago in that the burning it applies lasts only half as long compared to PvE/WvW (in addition to the lack of condition duration food, it makes it less overpowered here).
I’ve gotten 6 or 7 ecto from salvaging random rares that dropped today, one was even 3 from one, not seeing an issue.
From what I’ve heard, some unrepeatable and unexplainable series of events makes Mesmer clones think they have runesets you used to have.
So these redesigned bosses are not going to require players doing event chains in the zone for them to spawn?
How is Anet going to get players to play normal DE’s? If those DE’s are not part of a boss chain.
Well, I know when the nearly hour long Scarlet events were active, I got bored of “Stand here and mash 1, collect loot.” To remedy, I went and did the events that everybody ran past and didn’t do. Soloing the Mad Bombardier when he’s scaled to a 100 player zerg was pretty fun. Took the latter half of the entire event to get him down.
You need 2 stacks to make a weapon. If you don’t plan on getting to 450 any time soon, delete all but 4 stacks. You’ll save a lot of room and you’ll get far more than you’ll ever need by the time you do need it.
This is so annoying. The only cure for this disease is to join the selling party with a friend and kick their leader, so you discourage them to repeat it again for some time. I’ve sent to ArenaNet a folder with screenshots describing and showing every possible Arah skip I know. Nothing changed yet. Especially I look forward to fix the skipping to lupicus (jumping on the coral on wall to the right of couple of risens, when you start P1).
That’s a terrible practice to condone, you have no idea if the people selling Arah runs did it legit or otherwise.
I’ve got quite a lot of time on my Necro, nothing has changed.
Speed is reduced while you are in combat, always has been. Signet of the Locust has always been included.
So I see that HoD has stolen [NA]’s superior T1 tactics…..
Dang man, what’s that song playing in the background of your guild chat?
It’s like a dubstep haiku for people who don’t know how to count.
can someone tell me all the colors. i need rabid but im a mesmer and i like puple colors…orange just looks horrendous on it. i only know celestial is multi color, berseker is red i think…..what other colors are there?
Yes, because Anet definitely benefits from you missing out on putting more currency into the game, making the Gem:Gold ratio higher.
Right?
Right?
Right?
Well, you are on your character, and it did die, I don’t see why it wouldn’t count.
I much enjoyed doubling my Mesmer’s amount of deaths doing TM World 1.
They were all in Elona. Don’t have access to it, won’t see them till we do.
You have to get the recipe for the specific weapon you want to make, check the trading post for Recipe: Celestial.
I salvaged 20 level 76 Exotics (Black Lion Kit) and got 16 globs of Dark Matter.
I remember this particular sapling, although I don’t remember specifically if I chopped it down.
I think I was able to finagle my way to it eventually, although it was a massive pain and is obviously in a bugged position.
