It makes no sense to make Mending a physical skill and there’s a simple reason for it:
Physical Training is in the Strength tree.So all that you would do is make the zerk GS Warriors even stronger, as a lot of them already go 20/20/x/x/x to begin with.
After all, we’re talking about a healing that’s on a 20s cooldown and heals you for a consistent 11,120 and removes 2 conditions.
Also, I think bolas at 10s cooldown for a 1s Immobilize is a bit too strong, especially if coupled with Leg Specialist, a Shield, a Mace or a Hammer.
You realize that is only about 50% of our HP, trait lines are all being changed and GS warriors are probably getting nerfed? Oooo… 2 conditions..
Consume Conditions removes all of them and heals for each. The developers themselves commented on how poor our healing was.

(edited by Daecollo.9578)
So you used 20 initiative… um… you realize we only get 12 right?
This was obviously over a long period of time, the guardian had plenty chance to react. In fact from how many attacks you did, you had many chances to react. Why didn’t you dodge? Why didn’t you use any of your invulnerabilities/shelter? You know a thief can’t hurt you when his initiative is down right?
Sorry, but this is a learn to play issue.

I will describe what I want physical skills to be like, a berserker charging into battle and smashing everything up, causing as much chaos as possible, punishing anyone who doesn’t use stability or simply zergs up.
Currently the problem with Physical skills is they are on such a long cool-down and really don’t have any synergy with our weapon sets, why does kick push enemies back when we want them near us? Why does an AOE knockback ROOT us and have such a slow animation to boot?!
A lot of these ideas, I admit are from other games i’ve played.
Skills
Leaping Kick
(Cooldown: 15 seconds.)
Leap quickly at your foe, kicking them as you land, if you do not hit a target, the cool-down is doubled, this cannot be used in melee range.
Damage: 252
Daze: ¼ s this makes it an interrupt.
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 250-1200
This I admit is originally Force Leap from star wars, i’ve always thought warriors needed a way to gap-close without using greatsword/sword, I really like the other weapons and you just really need a way to do this constantly.
Bull’s Charge
(Cooldown: 20 seconds.)
Charge your foe and Knock down your target if you hit them from behind or from the side.
Damage: 183
Knockdown: 2 s
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 800
This means you cannot simply chain-stun targets anymore, you only knockdown foes as the description says, no more bull’s charge shield back 100b combos, sorry but if you fix this little detail, you can greatly lower the cool-down so its more of a reliable ability.
Original Description Charge your foe and knock down fleeing foes.
_______________________________________
Stomp
(Cooldown: 20s)
Launch nearby foes into the air with a powerful stomp, this reveals targets that are in stealth for 1 second, however it does not stack with other revealed.
Damage: 183
Revealed: 1 s
Launch: 450
Radius: 240
Combo Finisher: Blast
You can now move at a slowed pace while you perform this ability, the cool-down was reduced dramatically because of how much access to stability/interrupts and dodges other classes get, the ability already has a very slow and very easy to see animation, if they do not avoid the stomp, they deserve its power.
Throw bolas
(Cooldown: 10 seconds.)
Throw bolas to immobilize and cripple your foe.
Immobilized: 1 s
Crippled: 4 s
Damage: 161
Combo Finisher: Physical Projectile
Range: 1200
Instead of throwing it near the ground, you throw it a little higher so it does not hit objects so much, the projectile also should be 2x faster.
Mending
Heal yourself and cure two conditions.
Healing: 5,560 (1.0)?
I’ve always thought mending should of been a physical skill to begin with, however now that it is if my idea goes into play, the trait that improves physical skills should double its healing and reduce its cool-down by 20%, this is balanced because we have a much higher health pool then other classes, and its a big sacrifice to get the physical cool-down reduction.

Out of all the posts in professions section, warrior section is the only section where people are endlessly posting their ideas to replace/improve the existing skills sets they are given because of how lackluster their class is compared to every single other class.
There is so much doom and gloom its just mind blogging, I made sure to check necromancer’s section too and necros could use help for sure but aren’t in anywhere near the sad state as warriors.
There is a classes which are poor/strong in certain areas and classes like warrior who are the laughing stock of the entire sPvP community that even the dev themselves laugh and are widely known as a “free kill”. I’ll keep playing warrior because I find it entertaining when I pummel the lesser skilled players in a 1v1 as a warrior.
I agree to everything stated here, everything above this post is my proof.
Here is the problem with the warrior at the moment.
1). They are stupid good at easy PvE content, in fact I think ALL PvE content is a horrible joke, its no wonder everyone wants 4 warriors for CoF-1 and some other zones, the mechanics are nothing but a TANK/SPANK burn it down as quickly as possible, no utility is required at all for these fights and the developers are slowly adding strats to each zone, however until they do warrior will always be the class for these faceroll dungeons.
2). They are horrible at PvP, lets face it. Players are a lot smarter to be facerolled anymore, they have been playing for a while and they know they have a bag of many tricks and can use it, this makes the warriors horrible for PvP, they are by far the worst class out of all of them, Guardian might as well be called Warrior+Better. In PvP since nobody likes to stand still for some reason, the warrior’s dps is cut down to 1/3, since everyone also likes to CC/Kite/spam other things its cut down AGAIN by 1/3… this slowly adds up.
3). Warriors are horrible at clearing conditions, lets face it. Our traits have the worst condition clearing lines in the game, this is simply comparing to the options other classes get. Fire/Poison/Bleeding wrecks us completely and we cannot do anything to the condition monsters that constantly reapply these. With weakness affecting critical hits soon, guess who is effected the most? US, we have the lowest condition removal by far, this means we are going to suffer a damage nerf, this means we need more sustain, which THANKFULLY the developers are going to give us. From what they described they are pretty much revamping the way adrenaline and our class works.
4). I trust the developers, they know warrior is in a horrible place and they are going to take the time to give us more traits that heal us/cure conditions/and improve our base healing by a very big margine (for example, I believe mending is going to be healing for double what it is now, and have less of a cooldown.). We are not meant to run away, we are meant to stand and fight and live through sustain, and I believe the new adrenaline will work like that.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Elementalist has very easy access to weakness.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glyph_of_Elemental_Power
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stoning
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lightning_Touch
Elementalist has a way easier chance to apply weakness then most other classes, I think you will all be suprised when the changes come in and weakness is lowering enemy damage by 25-33%, it would open up an AIR dps build for ele, because you could throw up perma weakness on your targets.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Argh… the emote system hurts my eyes so much, please change it to different colors.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Warrior’s need more sustain, and I think this is a perfect idea. Many others agree.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
The problem is this….
WvW (Roaming) – Average
WvW (Zerging) – The current OP class
sPvP – Average
PvE/Dungeons – Really strongSo, how do you improve WvW roaming and sPvP without making WvW zerging and PvE completely OP?
Roaming: Horrible, almost every class does it better.
Zerging: Average, every class is good at Zerging. Warriors are a missile, however they don’t bring nearly the crowd control a necromancer/elementalist can in Zergs. Unfortunately Hammer warriors lead the fight, however they die very quickly and are very squishy.
What tier do you play on? Warriors are the MOST desirable zerg classes in tier 1 and 2 at least. I can’t speak to tactics on anything lower than that.
Warriors are NOT squishy when it comes to zerg fights. They have some of the best survivability and when it comes to 20v20 fights, most top commanders want more warriors than any other class.
If a warrior is dying a lot or is squishy, they are using the wrong spec or it’s a L2P issue.
That build would be trash against a raid of S/P thieves, however because there is no counter because nobody plays S/P thieves then it can run rampant, however compared to guardian it is still horrible.

So basicly your a healway guardian with 3x less utility/healing/group support? Or a DPS guardian with 3x less defense.
Again, this is a problem in the Warrior forums:
-Warrior posts about success.
*Degrade and dismiss said success.Don’t have a problem with people posting their opinions (I’ll post mine too), but resorting to talking down to people? We going to criticize how crappy the enemies are in the posted Warrior videos next?
Of course i’m going to degrade about success. An mesmer can stealth, doesn’t mean hes as good as a thief at it. Doesn’t mean its a make or break thing, a thief can do it a lot better.

It is a warrior. CC, some group support. Banner was much better when stability was available on summon but that got changed.
I haven’t ran a guardian. Haven’t felt like working on a third character either.
A guildie has stated, there are things his warrior can do and things his guardian can do. It always looks greener on the other side of the fence until you stand in the grass.
Guardian has better AOE CC/Better group support.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
As a roleplayer the /emote system is horrible, all the colors are the SAME, you cannot even click peoples names…
Instead of grey, the names of players should be in a different color then the emotes, and YOUR emotes should be a different color then other players.
The current system is horrible for emotes, some times we get stormed with so much grey we don’t know whats going on.

Zerging: Average, every class is good at Zerging. Warriors are a missile, however they don’t bring nearly the crowd control a necromancer/elementalist can in Zergs. Unfortunately Hammer warriors lead the fight, however they die very quickly and are very squishy.
They are most definately not squishy when built for zerg hammering.
They are VERY squishy, its called 8 seconds of glory
They spec like a missile, getting double endure pains so they can go into the zerg and cause as much pain as possible in that 10 seconds, then die.
Who are you up against that is squishy?
You have not ran into hammers in my guild.
Don’t need endure pain to zerg surf.
My warrior is by no means of any kind of defination of squishy.
What server?
Blackgate.
You?
TC, I haven’t seen hammer warriors in ages. However I play a thief/warrior, so I never have a problem against them when I fight them in Zergs, but not many people play S/P thieves.

Spectral Fire.

Staff / Dagger 2 is going to be AMAZING soon. Elementalists are going to recieve a huge boost.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Elementalist are getting a huge buff soon.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Dagger does LESS damage then hammers from other classes. And hammers can cleave up to three targets.
Necromancer Daggers should also hit and cleave three targets. However the animation should be a bit different.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
You’re already RPing around a world that isnt, I dont think it would be farfetched to say to go a bit further with it. Not putting you down or anything, RPing is fun, but RPing in an MMO has its well, challanges.
A seriously roleplayer would want to roleplay and not be interrupted every 2 minutes by attacking NPCs.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
That sounds like… a guardian ability. hehe.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Only thing about this (and the main reason I never use kick) is that 99% of the time I want people near me, not knocked away from me. Most of the time we are getting kited and crippled, and when I finally get to my target the last thing I want to do is push them away. I wish kick could be turned into a pull somehow
I wanted a very very aggressive attack that put you right into the fight, but a short cool-down so you can leap to your next target to keep up the pressure.
However, I wanted it to be VERY offensive, not used for running away. The knock back allows you to do things like stop rezzes.
I changed it to a very very very short daze, so its pretty much an interrupt.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
For dungeons, i’d rather take 4 guardians and a mesmer.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
(Cooldown: 15s.)
Quickly Leap at your foe and drop kick them, build adrenaline for each for hit.
Damage: 222
Daze: ¼ s
Adrenaline: 5 (Per Foe.)
Combo Finisher: Leap
Range: 1,200
((This skill replaces kick, can hit up to 3 targets.))
This skill has double the cool-down if you do not hit a target.

There are a lot of areas in this game I love, however for role-playing sake it would be very nice if you made them a bit more open with less NPCs so we can role-play and or have guild meetings or open discussions, fun things.
For example, adding empty houses, empty caves around the world, little things for players to find and use.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
@Donut.
Don’t say Vague terms like “PvE” Tell me which dungeon this is best at.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
I think the karka video was a troll. Every class can solo the vet karkas it just takes along time.
Dude… Warriors have the LEAST get out of jail free cards. of any class. IF WE SCREW Up, we lose.
Meanwhile, if a mesmer screws up, he can portal away multiple times, so can thief. Rangers can use buttons and swoop away and evade and has much higher regen and better traits and can kite as well. Warriors are just horrible at high-end pve.

The problem is this….
WvW (Roaming) – Average
WvW (Zerging) – The current OP class
sPvP – Average

Spvp: Horrible, i’d rather bring a ranger’s pet, more damage+more survivability.
PvE/Dungeons: Average, they are good in old content (CoF Path 1.) and horrible at new content (Karka.)
You should see the video of a warrior trying to solo a Karka, wheras every other class can solo them, warriors cannot without luck+lots and lots of skill, one mistake = instant death.

should be:
30% of burst damage ignore’s armor+protection+damage reduction.
God that would be kittened as well. Maybe just 30% chance that attacks are unblockable?
It wouldn’t be kittened, it would be good because it means we would do more damage against bunkers and around the same against glass cannons.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
I want my survivability tree to also give me 30% damage bonus.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Currently they do not, please make them hurt.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Vampiric is crap. When did I ever say it was OP?

Alright, however make Lac strike free, lower the cost of flanking strike to 2.

should be:
30% of burst damage ignore’s armor+protection+damage reduction.

Sigil of Blood has been bugged since beta, it should have a 2 second internal cool-down, but it is 5 seconds…
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Scorpion wire is a joke as well, always misses.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Can we please have an ETA for the POOF fix?
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Yeah… even mentioning vampiric in this makes you lose all credibility to me…
I think its a fine and balanced trait.
I started with 5%, but I could even go to 10% and it be fine.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Please make the ‘3’ on the chain faster, a lot faster. Its not creating a ward that heals/gives us perma protection, there is no reason why it should be ‘1’ second, in fact it should be 1/2 a second. Your bashing someone over and over.
Maces in real life are not even that slow, why should they be slow in a game that your suppost to be stronger?
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Um… we had 3 guys who apparently played warriors speaking for us, but no mention of brawn?
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
nice but someone else also told this:
Indomitable
Grandmaster, Defense Tree.
Convert a condition into a boon when you gain a bar of adrenaline.
If this would be there than healing surge is OP… heal the most + full adrenaline = 3 condi to boon..
Would be nice.. but Mending is useless after that.. (so is the signet)
Wait, Healing Surge has a 30 second cooldown and if you use it with no adrenaline the healing is very horrible and poor.
How is that OP?
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Well, it does 50% less then it did before. So it benefits for the warrior to have toughness and not just be full zerker and win.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Well I just reread and saw your proposed cooldown. I retract my previous statement lol.
I’m glad you aren’t sick after all.
Hey when you dream, you gotta dream big.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
I got the idea from a berserker ability from EQ2.
http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Adrenaline
(You can make the cool-down on it 1 minute with gear.)
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Change the ‘1’ it into a cleaving melee ability.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
Endure Pain should not simply remove damage, but should help them against spike damage.
(Cooldown: 30s)
Endure Pain
Take 50% damage from attacks and conditions. Lose all endurance and reduce endurance regeneration by 50%.
Duration: 10 s
Breaks stun
This would give us more protection against spike damage in team fights.
Defy Pain (trait.)
Endure Pain lasts 5 more seconds.
(ATM, the trait is just horrible. It activates and I just die from conditions. It would be much better if it helped the active.)
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
(edited by Daecollo.9578)
Its like the opposite of confusion.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
I suggested this earlier a while ago, there is no point to using a sword over a rifle and longbow for conditions at the moment, its just not enough pressure.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
