I am already, however I am still at least trying to get warriors fixed. Its not like I wasted 130 Laurels on him already…Sure, it’s commendable to try to improve where improvements are needed. But through lies, slander, misrepresentation and incessant complaining? No one needs that kind of help.
You’d be doing everyone and yourself a favor by just playing Guardian and being amazing at it.
I still don’t think that is a good reason for warriors to not have a good condition removal system and let alone protection boons. Warriors can get burst down easily with reapplied condition builds quick like a thief or mesmer, but worst.
It’s a debate to be sure. Improvements could definitely be made to the profession to give it options to combat certain tactics to a degree…but not every profession has available a build to counter every kind of tactic.
Lies?

Why?
Why do you want a nerf?
I don’t think I understand this at all. In what way would it be better?
Its to powerful atm. Lemongrass + Runes + Traits = Immune to some conditions, food should not be that powerful.

I play a necromancer and I play a ranger as well. I can put 7 stacks of bleeds on you almost immediately after you cure them while raining poison over you with other things like constant pulsing fire traps.Your condition removal is burst, therefore it does nothing against my condition damage, I will immediately reapply it after.
The beauty of the guardian’s condition removal is he turns it into boons to counter the conditions and damage that happen afterwords, while passively removing the applied conditions every 10 seconds. Meanwhile…
YEAH YOU USE MENDING… now your out a heal for 25 seconds… now your dieing…
SHRUG IT OFF! … Shortbow ranger, 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 stacks of bleeding 3 seconds later. You keep bringing up Guardians.
Guardians have good condition removal because they have the lowest base health. Considering 6 stacks of bleed is around 640ish damage per second, after 5 seconds, that’s 3200 HP or 1/3 of a Guardian’s base HP. In the same scenario, that’s practically 1/6 the HP of a Warrior.
They have better stat allocation, they get more bang for there buck because all there best stats are in trees they want them to be in, unlike us with our traits all over. BRAWN does absolutely nothing for us and we require it to get boon hate, that is -300 in stats alone.
Greatsword warriors don’t use condition damage, it simply does not benefit them much since they only get bleeds 33% of the time on criticals, its about 3% of there total damage, that is another -250 in stats.
Please think a little before you post.
I mean, look at the monster that is there toughness tree: … 30% critical damage AND toughness with altruistic healing and purity? Purity should be a grandmaster trait.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
(edited by Daecollo.9578)
In my opinion, critical food was way over-nerfed. -40% condition duration was more powerful then and now its ridiculous and mostly the main thing people use now.
Please change the critical food to ONLY be able to proc 3 times per second, this makes it a little better but not worthless at it is now.
Change the -duration of the Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup from -40% to -25% and change the vitality it gives from 70 to 140.

Fine, then stop complains
I’m complaining because the trait sucks as it is now, not worth the points.

Seriously. We have pretty decent condition removal if you trait for it. No profession gets free condition removal, there is some trait expenditure involved in getting condition removal in all classes. Stop whining about conditions and learn to build for them.
Remove 3 conditions every 10 seconds (some times its 2 every 5, one every 10), able to convert all conditions into boons. Perma Vigor. Draw all conditions to you (helping your party!) and then turn all those conditions into more boons.
Constantly removing boons passively, all of them, and then if your in an emergency able to convert them (converting the boons allows you to pretty much counter more boons which are incoming.)
This isn’t the Guardian class I know, however they can trait to be almost completely immune to boons and if you look at the trash traits we get to remove ours, I would trade all of them for just Purity alone.
Warrior is an absolute joke, I won’t even bother going into elementalist, before they were nerfed they could become completely immune to conditions if they played a sylvari.
Bottom line, warriors need better condition removal that doesn’t rely on gimmicks and healing, it should be self sustained and based off our class mechanic adrenaline, this is why I offered the trait indomitable.
To make this trait, combine “Missile Deflection” and “Shield Mastery” into a single trait. Just call that “Shield Mastery” and move that down.
Grandmaster: Indomitable
Each time you get a bar of adrenaline, you convert one condition into a boon.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
(edited by Daecollo.9578)
Its bs idea as u pitting everyone into pure zerks build to have any sustain. If sustain defense line olny, and tactic for little highter team ones. This trait should bypassing protection and get down to 2% per boon, nothing less, nothing more
A trait should not completely bypass a boon.
https://twitter.com/TalathionEQ2
The idea is good but the numbers are too high.
You can’t expect to destroy several builds by using one trait (even if it’s a Grandmaster trait).
Well, you can expect it, but it doesn’t mean it’s a good expectation.
And base healing of 69?
Its the same as altruistic healing, which can heal for the same amount, however it depends how many boons you get, this is more of an offensive version.
It’s just too strong, man. I know you miss Omnomberry Pie, but it’s safe to assume any idea stronger than the pie was, which this idea is, doesn’t have a chance.
Any idea has a chance, maybe not a strong one, however it has a chance.

Destruction of the Empowered
Deal 5% bonus damage per unique boon on your target.
Each time you hit the target, heal yourself for each boon he has.
(At level 80, the amount healed per boon is 49 + 0.01 * Healing Power.)
Example:
If your target has 3 unique boons, each hit will heal you for 150.
This would allow warriors to have an Anti-Bunker Role in SPVP/PVP, but not overpower them in PvE, because most mobs do not have boons except bosses.
Most mobs, trash mobs don’t even have boons, so in PvE they would not gain a bunker increase.

Its not vitality that needs buffed, its toughness.
There is no reason having 3k toughness should be almost the same as having ONE boon: Protection.

The point isn’t “you can always dodge it”. No one dodges infinitely. The point is that the skill isn’t instant cast or a very quick cast (like .25s), and it has a fairly distinctive animation (IE, if a Sword MH thief pulls his arm back, you know for sure its a skill you probably want to dodge). You always know when the skill is coming.
Yes, Inf strike is an option, but at the cost of 3 init – 5 if they have to clean up an SR to gain access to IS again. When you consider that you need to spend 3 init for FS every time you want to LS and at minimum another 3 init for IS (if they don’t have SR up) it’s a reasonable combo, rather than something a thief can spam endlessly.
Something nobody mentioned is that LS is incredibly similiar animation-wise to the 3rd sword autoattack and, you know, nobody wants to dodge the autoattack.
Also, consider that arm animations are fairly hard to notice, expecially if the Thief is an Asura which has a model 70% smaller than any character, which bring us to another flaw of this game. What are you saving your dodge for, FS? DD? Most S/D thieves at this point don’t bother with CnD (outside of interrupting a stomp), since without SA, the stealth doesn’t offer much, and its costs 6 init for crap damage.
Do explain why you wouldn’t want to dodge a swing that does nearly the same damage as LS, and carries cripple and weakness with it, especially since another complaint in the thread is that most thieves would use IS to ensure the LS strike. Crippling strike and LS are the only skills worth dodging/attempting to interrupt with CC in the current “Wah, spam 3 more noob” meta.
Oh, and I mentioned specifically that the animations were identical. Its actually right in the post you quoted. Additionally, any animation is hard to see with an Asura – that’s a poor design move by Anet that’s true across every class and ability.
Your crazy, I use C/D to cure conditions/heal up, switch to dagger and backstab, then black powder and heartseeker into them again.

This is for open world, its meant to be slower like keg brawls, other things.
Duel
1v1: Fights are slower to make fights more epic.
1 Each player/pet/minion takes 50% less damage/condition damage.
2 No downed state, when the player is downed he is defeated.
Brawl
Group vs Group: Fights are slower to make fights more epic.
1 Each player/pet/minion takes 50% less damage/conditon damage.
2 No downed state, when a player is downed, he is defeated and out of the fight. When all the group is defeated the other group wins. It would be very team oriented, losing one teammate makes you 4/5 less effective in a brawl.
This would be like super smash brothers, could have cool fights in epic places, like the giant bridge in Caledon, and be awesome for role-play.

It looks horrible as it is now. :/
Well, I am not going to knock down the majority for my petty preferences, but i always found that sylvari males somehow look better then other males, and now that I understand this problem, I understand that I always prefer the way clothes look on sylvari males.
The way coats frames the slender sylvari, the way they flow, and rest, i see it as making the sylvari look elegant and graceful. To me its a hallmark, rather then a bad thing.
So this is a good thing?

Rangers, Necros and Engineers also have high health pools too. Warriors got them beat by an extra 3k hp I believe if wearing Knight Amulet.
Rangers, Necros, Engineers have better stat allocation.
Necromancers have condition damage (there main thing.) in there precision tree which is also really nice.
Rangers have there trees mostly where they need them, they waste no points on anything, almost everything they get is helpful.
Engineers (I haven’t played them so I can’t say for sure until I do.)

Dogged March, sure its nice… but what kills us most is Poison>Bleeding>Fire, in that order.
Shrug it Off: You would take this trait over lowering all shouts by 20% Or Quick breathing?
Quick Breathing: You can’t choose what you want to remove, warhorn skills have to long of a cool-down for it to be viable, and it relies on a weapon and using buffs when you don’t want to, to be honest it should convert 2 boons instead of 1.
Mobile Strikes: This is just worthless, it doesn’t stop the most common things like cripple/chill.
I wasn’t aware those didn’t count as, “ANY” form of condition removal.
“Cures a condition when you X.”
Restorative Strength, buddy.
That only heals movement based conditions. Dogged March is almost 100x better in every single way. That trait really isn’t worth its weight.
Its absolutely nothing compared to example like:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PurityCouple it with Mending. Mending recharges faster and will remove 2 conditions after Restorative Strength. There are only 2 non-damaging conditions then left to cover you from removing those damaging conditions: Blind and Vulnerability. Meaning someone has to time their blinds with your heal instead of your attacks or vulnerability to stop you from removing 2 damaging conditions.
Now you’re complaining about not having the game auto-drop a single condition every 10 sec when you can have a skill fully cleanse you every 25sec. You’d be arguing preference since waiting 10sec to remove bleeding then 10 more seconds to remove poison IF you don’t have other conditions like Weakness or Chill in the way at the time is ultimately inferior to cleansing all conditions on command when you need to heal.
When its combined to other large ways to remove conditions it adds up.

You guys are seeing the situation in the wrong direction.
Let’s consider the facts.
Flanking Strike can be easily spammed. Period. It is on 4 initiative which is quite low, also most thieves enjoy run S/D+S/D to get initiative regen on weapon swap, allowing them to have almost unlimited initiative to better spam their FS.
It is an issue. I know you are enjoying your newfound FotM skill, but you have to stop to see the situation as a Thief player and look the picture as a whole.
Every thief said that the backstab combo wasn’t powerful; there was NO ONE who said it can use a little nerf, everyone said “if can be dodged”, “l2p” and all the BS we are seeing here again over and over. Fact is that it was overpowered and, in fact, it was nerfed. So, probably, you should adjust your point of view and stop justifying any flaw with the more of the same arguments. If is fair and right that Thieves have access to some boon stripping skills, but that boon stripping shouldn’t be that much powerful for two simple reasons:
1. There are profession who completely relies on boons. Being able to constantly strip boon moves any form of boon build into the unviable category, which isn’t exactly a symptom of an healthy meta. This is actually what’s happening.
2. Any other profession which is specialized into boon control is overshadowed by FS Thief, another symptom of bad meta. And please, please, don’t start again with the “you can dodge” argument, because it is an horrible one. Everything in this game can be dodged, this doesn’t mean that you can justify something which is too much powerful.
I play Spvp and WvWvW and I still don’t see many S/D Thieves.
