Don’t become overly childish or they simply ignore you. Not if they care about the dungeon community but don’t make the situation worse you know.
Apart from the inaccurate tooltip, any idea why this change is good or neccessary? It’s just another PvE oriented nerf for one of thel less desired classes and has 0 effect on PvP.

1. A better tutorial (we probably get now a popup window anyway) and …
2. Include the skills amongst other class specific skills in the hero menu.

Done. But nope dumb it down even more if the game isn’t easy enough after you get used to it.

While most of us take it as a given that every player knows what to do at the down state, it was never explained ingame what to do when downed.

You’re on your butt with 4 skills. What do you do?
1) Call your mom
2) Click a button to see what happen
3) Uninstall.exe

I bet a monkey would figure it out on his own.

Dungeon Instance Owner

We’ve changed the way dungeon instances work. Currently, the instance is “owned” by the first person to enter the instance; this creates some issues when that person leaves or is kicked from the party. To prevent the dungeon instance from closing when any one person leaves, we’ve removed the concept of a dungeon “owner.” If everyone leaves an instance, it will close, but you don’t have to worry about one person leaving your party and having to restart your dungeon! Our goal here is to make instances more user-friendly, as the hidden owner concept was often hard to understand and resulted in people losing progress randomly when someone left.

Regina, please accept my sincere thanks for coming and talking with us, but with no new content on the way, promises of less-buggy versions of the same content just doesn’t do it for me.

I hope the company realizes that it offers one of the most interesting combat systems around, but without fresh, replayable, challenging content…it is being wasted.

It’s been fun. I hope that some day a compelling reason to return will exist. But for now, you guys have dropped the ball hard. Keep listening, keep working, and add new content before its too late.

inb4 BHBs — No, I don’t think I’m special. But I want to let the friends I’ve made on this forum know what happened to me, and let the company see yet another person leaving because of their prolonged silence and Living Story tunnel-vision.

I would like to implement option #1 this way if possible.

If ANet selects, they’ll have to be prepared to weather a storm of criticism from the people who think they’re already out of touch with the community.

If you leave it up to a Forum “vote” here, then you will only be getting the opinion of the forum-goers. (Not to mention you will have to MANUALLY tally up the results, and many people will chime in multiple times. No control.)

As I suggested in the other thread:

During the Beta testing, we were given little in-game questionnaires to help you guys decide what people liked, and disliked, and what needed work. That seems like a good way to reach a nice, sizable spectrum of gamers. Do you think your little questionnaire program could be adapted to quiz the community on their desires?

You can control that each account gets to vote only ONE time. Offer a checklist of “hot topics” we’d like to see addressed. Your computers can quickly tally up what topics are the most important to the community as a whole, not just the forum-goers.

Easier. Faster. More representative.

With the incoming FGS nerfing would be “stacking” still a big issue? Los tacttitcs would be still used to make advantage of cleaving so i’m not sure why force it still.

After the Fractured incident i’m simply too afraid to suggest anything. Wait and see.
But … The team being so overwhelmed with stuff to do they have a skrittload of time to gather feedback, suggestions, opinions, cupcakes. In theory of course. Unless they decide dungeons are permanently off the table.

What i don’t understand is why Anet decided that berserker has to be be all end all.

That is forced by a small percent of the playerbase. ANet give a lot of options that is viable. Being able to succeed with anything basically the only measurement we can use in efficiency is killing time, where the meta builds, including berserker’s/assasin’s gear, is the most optimal choice. See the difference?

Your argument that i can do dungeons beling zerker or full tanky and is my choice what to do is like that in WoW for flying.You have the option to fly and say that it will be better without it and someone say just to not use it.Well that’s not balance.That is something else…

Flying has nothing do to with balanced gear sets in a particular game mode of another game. I know what you mean, it just don’t make any sense.
Are full tanky builds viable so you can progress and finish content in PvE? Yes.
Are full glassy builds viable so you can progress and finish content in PvE? Yes.
Are intermediate builds viable so you can progress and finish content in PvE? Yes.

Balance.

It’s a good change that Anet nerfed the FGS.Now they have to keep nerfing other dps things that are out of proportion.Make the game more balanced in PvE.

So you want to further nerf damage for the sake of nerfing without even take into account trade offs? That don’t make sense. Builds with less passive defense should have higher damage output before running out of active defense so they can complete content. Am i right? So why nerfing it even more?
Tanky builds don’t need it due to little to no risk to die, so they succes eventually which is just a matter of time.

Right now we don’t have the incentive neither to cleanse conditions nor to use aoe heals.Combos?Forget that.Interrupting?Forget that either.So what are we left with?only pure dps and nothing else.Ahhh yea and dodge once in a while.

You gave an example in your previous post with Mai Trin. There goes your incentive.
Combos working. Fire fields for might, light fields for cleanse, water for emergency healing, dark fields for life stealing, smoke fields for stealthing, lightning for swiftness, poison for some extra weakness though it can be done with consumables.
Again. You not using something it doesn’t mean it’s not viable or it isn’t used.

Interrupts are kinda problematic. We will see how it turns out when burst damage isn’t that high post FGS nerf.

You forgot support completely but who am i talking to … You can’t be convinienced because you don’t want to and you come here for the sake of arguing and force down your opinion on others throat.

In my opinion pulling boss to the wall and melting it like butter it is wrong,just wrong.I doubt Anet even intended to design the fights that way.That is why i love FotM.There you can’t pull bosses to the corners and kill them.

Except you can burst a few one currently, like Mossman, Ettin, Dulfy, second Archy to a lesser extent and so on. Basically any terrestial and non-stationary boss. It’s just harder to pull off than in regular dungeons.

In the current dungeons Anet support a lot pure glass cannons.What they have to do is this:

Sorry, this is just stupid. All i see that both end of the spectrum (full glass and full tanky) is VIABLE and can go trough content. Is glasscannon faster? Of course but why it frustrates you so much apart from being envy? Tanky setups has little to no risk involved and occasionally it’s pure afk fights. Isn’t that supposed to be nerfed in a action based MMO? Imo yes, it has no place in the game.

  1. Remove the stacking in the corners.Don’t let bosses to be pulled there at all.They must not be killed in 5seconds.
  2. Redesign the defiance buff.Add the interrupt as more often usable mechanic in dungeons.Give people the incentive to remove the defiance stacks so they can interrupt a specific spell.
  3. Rework the dodge mechanic.Right now bosses hit almost instantly and you have to press the dodge button fast.Well i don’t want to do that.Make the attack a bit longer so i can direct mydodge.I want to choose to where am i dodging(left,right,backwards or forward)
  4. Make condition removal more viable.I really love Mai Trin and General Volkov.Applying bleeding makes you cleanse it or you may die if the stack gets to big.
  5. Buff the Controll and Support roles for dungeons.Remove that full zerker mentality that GW2 has right now.In PvE everything else that is not zerker right now is worthless.Anet should change that.I love to have bunker guardian with me.Or pistol/pistol thief.What if they are not in the meta berzerker?Make the other two roles more attractive to bring.
  6. Buff the combo fields.They are almost meaningless right now.I like their concept but they almost not used currently.

1. So you want wide open areas without walls, objects and other items? Sounds great. Not. Or all of the bosses becomes big stationary punching bags in a middle of the room (Bloomhunger). Non of them seems to be a good idea.
2. While it works now exactly this way i would like to suggest (as others already did) that all interrupted skill should go on full cooldown AND remove any enviromental item that can remove the need of CC skills (Arah P2, Abomination for example). Every class has a few CC skills anyway.
3. You mean well telegraphed 1-2 second long casts are instant? Ok. Practice more.
4. Condition removal is viable. You mentioned examples too where you need it.
5. We don’t need buffs, just slight changes. Maybe you have 20 hours to play a day but not everyone has the luxury to RP in soldier gear for hours in a dungeon that can be done in 15 minutes sorry.
6. We can agree on that, some of them needs really big changes across the board.

Right now the PvE ballnce is really bad.It supports only Zerkers and that’s it.What about the other two roles?Suppor and Controll?Make having vitality,healing,toughness stats more meaningful in PvE.

You are not using=/=not viable.
Teq and basically majority of world bosses are a great example how berserker is obsolete and PVT becomes the best choice there because it helps you to survive better and you can’t deal more damage anyway due to crit immunity.
Same with support (reflects, boons, etc.) and control. Not using at the time when you need it it’s your own or your party fault.

tl;dr:
Get a decent party with friends who knows how the game works so you can enjoy it in a better environment instead of rolling with crappy pugs.

I often run without Ele and FGS nerf won’t change much, the only boss where FGS was much faster was the ooze in Arah, killing it before it start jumping was sweet, other bosses will just take 4-5 more seconds.

Also some bosses in HoTW but not many people do them anyway.

What about Mossman? :C

I recently dipped back into GW2 after 15+ months away – happened to be logged in at Cursed Shore.

Map was largely empty – but I stumbled upon about 100+ people doing this Blix farm.

Started screaming at me because I didn’t know wth they were doing and I was trying to win the event. Everything wrong with GW2 community in a nutshell for me.

So you base your opinion about the whole community due to how those “100+” (probably 30-40) people behaved? You must be a nice person.

That mechanic is already in game. CoE P1, Bjarl the rampager. Imo it’s not making the fight more engaging, just unique amongts many others.

Change one of them and you will understand it.
It prevents stupid CC spamming in stanced content, so you have to work for it.

LOLOLOL. Because the devs intended people to fail events when they designed the DE system right? Ye. There used to be an Orr farm like this 9-10 months ago where people purposely failed an event south of meddlers waypoint. The devs fixed that event specifically for the reason that players were failing it to get huge amounts of loot. I remember those days, I remember trolling that event so hard to purposely make it succeed since thats the way its actually supposed to be done.

Acknowleges that he trolls for the sole purpose of kittening people off. GG.

Plus DR kicks in after two hours so where’s the issue ? Are you mad that people actually make money in this game and not you ? Stop that.

And for Vayne, this isn’t a bannable offense to fail the event. The only thing that’s wrong is ANet in not having a longer queue for the event restart, thus making it farmable.

Its exploitative, thats all that needs to be said. This happened before in the game once, and was patched. It will again. Just admit what you are doing it wrong. Tell me with a straight face that events were meant to be failed on purpose repeatedly?

I wouldn’t say events were meant to be failed, but they’ve often been designed with failure being an option since a number of events result in a different chain of events with failure.

In this particularly case though, I’d say the biggest fail is a design fail in that if the rewards are that significant rather than completing the chain of events, the reward system in game is not where it should be. Same with the SoE champ farm, it’s more rewarding to kill the three champ golems over and over than it is to actually completely the path.

Do I need to find quotes for you people to prove its not intended by the devs? People are trying to maneuver their way out of the fact that its exploitative lol. It doesn’t mean you will get banned, people didn’t before with the old event farm that theyd fail intentionally

I disagree with it being an exploit, granted I have slightly more faith in the dev team than for them to have made a giant over sight about their event chains and mechanisms that have been in place and played for two years now…..if it is an over sight though I feel less secure about this game, two years is a long time to miss something that’s pretty obvious….

I always see that box farm on lfg, is it that good? seems like a waste of time.

People are going to tell you from 20-70 gold an hours, it is not, what it is, is about 70 champ boxes, if no one mess up, if you tag everything. You can get more than that if you have a good dedicated group for AC story or SE path 1 farm. This morning my team reached a pretty solid 90 box from Se in 1 hour, however we get to the golem in 2:45 using thief, mesmer, warrior, 2 ele.

But for AC and SE you need good team and actually some brain activities :P

So it’s like 1g/hour? And white knights still can’t deal with it? GW2 community becomes arrgh … i don’t give a crab anymore.

And yes, they are gaining an unfair advantage. If I’m busting my kitten off doing dungeons all day to make gold, I certainly don’t want people making more gold than me with a lot less effort.

Proof? Source? Reliable statistics? Envy is one of the deadly sins, don’t do it mate.

May be so, but ANet has not explicitly announced their opinion on this method yet. Until they have, we can’t know for sure.
Sure, I can’t reliably prove that it’s true (and never said so), but you can’t prove that it’s the opposite either. And I’m not being envious. If I wanted to, I could join in on the free gold as well. What I want is justice and fairness.

ANet don’t like to confirm or even mention exploits, why do you expect that? They just simply punish for it. Therefore, following the thing called common sense, you can assume they will do the same as in a previous case (ember farm), nerf the event upon failing.
Stop with the non-sense white knighting, it’s unhealthy.

As for the envy thing, if you make less than 5g per hour with farming, you do something horribly bad. If you are lucky, you can make more sure, but it’s RNG and also path selling can be more profitable, but thats out of the question now.

It’s hardly warrior supremacy, most people either just can’t be bothered or don’t want to play their eles. And herein lies the problem – we don’t know what anet are balancing around. GS is like non existent in PvP and nerfing the damage of two skills doesn’t make it more viable, and warrior is an average dps offensive support class in group pve content. There is no precedent of anet balancing around solo efficiency and they haven’t even elaborated as far as I’m aware if the GS changes are for pve or PvP. Precedent would say PvP, but who knows.

In general, PvE group content, except few (Southsun Cove, Maguuma, Tri-wurm, Tequatl and Claw of Jormag), is designed so that no one really needs to play support at all, they were designed so they’re playable with any builds, even if everyone (100%) uses Settler gear, but are heavily leaning over to direct damage and crit builds, and also lacking mechanics that limits singular player defense capabilities..
