Let’s just be honest, the high volume requirement was put in place to slow progression. You were either going to have enough to gear a couple of characters or you were going to buy a lot of gems to gear your alts. It’s the slowing down and the gear chase they wanted from the start.
Thus, silk demand is more than likely going to stay high for the near future.
Been having some fun in Snowball Mayhem. There has appeared a couple of nearly indestructible players though in there. Where their HP just keeps regening in ticks without any visible supporters, nor running to the back to grab the regen boost’s. Is there something I’m missing???
Just to make certain this stays relevant since it is truly annoying
Dan must be a Necro
Yes and Yes and Yes…. please???
A little red bar under the portal tab, like any other ranged skill, would be awesome. Also, a countdown from 60 seconds to let us know how long we have to create the portal exit. Those two things alone would be amazing additions. The lower CD would be appreciated too. Since I burn 10 points to trait for it.
that would be awesome!
This would have to be the first time I’ve ever heard anyone complain it feels over crowded. Please, this must only be in LA right? Because most zones are empty unless there’s a world boss or champ farm taking place.
The drop rate of those 5 slot bags is extraordinarily high compared to the other starter zones. It should be reduced to the same level as the other races. Having all Norn’s until recently, I was amazed these even dropped.
btw… not every character is a level 80 to go to FGS to champ farm with.
I’m beside myself on why back slot items are so rare, yet skins so plentiful. What’s the worth of a skin if I can’t find a decent back piece to put it on? Dev’s please make Basic and fine grade back items.
Oh… btw, whomever priced the light of Dwayna at near $60 usd, it’s a touch much no? I have 16 characters total
That’s Awesome! Happy Holidays!!!
I always thought more game mode like “The Sims” or “Farmville” would be good for the game. Anything besides the (kill x #) equation we have now.
Yes, had that one last week. It happened when I was trying to cross thru an ice wall. Was interesting to play around down there.
Encourages players to kill each other, then wonders why players aren’t being nice to each other. #smh
Honestly, it’s no biggie. More time irl and less with the game that’s all.
Speaking of laziness, while spending time playing a video game
Also, when did acting in the safest and most efficient manner become a bad thing??? YOU can always run around in white gear if you like if you like suffering.
As mentioned, Guardian Staff #1. Just be methodical and make a path up and down lengthwise. Imagine like you’re mowing a lawn, just keep making passes.
I’ll fight who I come across but if they’re eating my health too fast I’ll find the nearest friend/NPC I can to help me out. If anyone ever complained it was unfair well… It’s WvW… Not PvP.
I had that experience just last night. On my zerg build Mesmer and while on my way back to the zerg a thief jumps me. I just blinked and high tailed it for a nearby sentry. Afterward my victory the thief sent me a party request to politely complain he wanted to 1v1. I apologized for not being in a 1v1 build (nor mood) and expressed it wouldn’t have been a fun fight because it’d just be a free kill. I usually like to accommodate the needs of my fellow players but, sometimes I just don’t have the time for it.
For the article, it’s missing the large aspect of how one defines a win. A win is not as simple as a number on the screen. A win is as special and unique as each of us are. Like in my above example, I’ll usually dive into every fight and give a roamer their kill because I know it makes them happy. I also know with Zerg’s running all over the map, 1v1’s are few and infrequent. So I make it a conscious choice to take them when they come along. Thus, my apparent lose in a 1v1 is actually a win-win from my perspective.
People are too lost in the numbers to remember the spirit in which games were made for….
Far too few have issues with the downed state. I think it’s fine as is.
I haven’t noticed Revive time being significantly faster than stomp time. It should be faster if the Rezzer is traited to act as a combat medic.
Personally, I can’t get enough of those mats. You must love running Dungeons and FotM to have so many. I dislike Dungeons and FotM so I have very few of those mats. Except for the dust which I just keep making bricks with. For Shards, I have zero…
Thus, if they create a “sink” where one could profit from those mats, then they should make them more available to other areas of the game too.
IDK id it’s been mentioned yet (tldr set in) but, what about those of us with multiple accounts? I do the dailies twice, one for each account. I do them mostly for the laurels. Thus, take into consideration there are more of us than you’d think that run multiple accounts. We also have purchasing power with Anet since we buy things in pairs too!
Do not increase the time requirement for getting the 5 in for the daily. It can be annoying enough as is with the Living Story tied in.
I like this idea! For me, I’d appreciate more toggles for visibility. For chest, I’d like the pieces themselves broken down into selectable visibility zones. Even if it’s say just sleeves and centers to be a toggled.
For dyeable undergarments, yes… yes…. and more yes.
Kinda like how the Golem Banker was a launch. It would literally follow you around. Which became annoying and that’s why they changed it.
I’d love to see our pets and mini’s get a Walk cycle added to them. Would make them that much better.
-Upgrades to home instance (crafting stations, NPC services, decorations) and your own resources, such as a garden of harvesting nodes, and direct access from anywhere you’re playing the game.
I was thinking the same thing. A Wardrobe closet in the instance would be great too. Also, to have the Total Makeover Kits be active in there. That we can use the make over kit in there and it only becomes permanent when we leave the instance. The preview/creation window is subpar to say the least. I’d like to walk around and test drive a new look before purchasing
I believe the drop rates should be higher for Wintersday. It’s not the right time to play the Grinch.
Maybe there’s DR upon opening boxes? Would explain the drop rates from that reddit link.
There’s a way to curtail inflation and to protect the casual player, it’s raising the seller fees and increasing drop rates. My last full build 2 months ago cost over 85g for exotics. That’s not including the karma cost for the back piece. Nor, does it include the mat’s I had on hand. Per unit pricing on some items are steadily increasing into the out of control realm.
TY for this technique! Will most certainly come in handy.
1. Pants
2. Pants
3. Pants
4. Angel Wing Back skin
5. Pants
6. Pants
7. Kitten it, just unlock all armors and appearance items. There’s enough to make me happy, it’s just gated and can’t be used.
Honestly, a new artistic direction would be nice. I’d like more fantasy and flare than the morbid and muted. Wintersday makes it so much more obvious to me. I wish there was more to actually build as I’m getting sick of death and violence. And yet, my time is either spent killing in a wholesale fashion or figuring out the most efficient means of killing. All so I can keep up with inflation.
My cynicism approves this message.
Of course YOU don’t see the problem because you have them. For those searching for them, it doesn’t show up AT ALL. Hence, why people are rightfully calling it a bug.
Please bring back the Toymaker’s Bag from last year? They are awesome for Wintersday!
I’m on the Guardian forum expressly to say, WTH???? SoS is mostly worthless now as a speed buff. Might as well remove it and give us a good offensive skill or something added to the field.
As a full height Norn, I have to have perma swiftness or the game becomes near unplayable. It’s just a slug on so many levels without at least a 25% speed increase.
None for now. Like most of us are saying, the cost is simply outrageous. Our purchasing power is dropping as prices continue to rise. I know Anet’s wishes this so we’ll start buying Gold (gems) from them. But, the cost of living in Tyria is beginning to be a bit much.
Running the content is supposed to be the “challenge” of the game that is to be rewarded
I don’t play this or any game for challenge or suffering. I play it for fun, the fantasy, and the social immersion that events like the Champ trains bring. As they are laid back, social, and rewarding. If you haven’t noticed it is one of the few areas in the game where large groups can come together peacefully. Which is what I believe bothers those few whom despise and disrupt the train. They simply don’t like others enjoying themselves collectively.
I think the champ train can be a great place for new players to meet others and ask questions. If anything is making it toxic, it’s those antisocial players that are going out of their way to derail, diminish, or outright destroy the train. After getting treated in such a fashion, how can one not expect those on the train to be agitated?
If you’d like for the train to have greater challenge, fine. To the Dev’s, please increase the champs difficulty to the point where they cannot be killed without 8 or more players. This will keep the toxic antisocial solo players from creating havok in Queensdale.
For playing in the other zones, I simply do not like the environment of most other zones. Queensdale is lush, green, and open. It’s just a nice place to spend time! Wayfarer Foothill’s is another similar zone to run around in. Frost Gorge isn’t a bad map either. For all the rest, I have little desire to go into them no matter the reward. Forget Ascalon as that place sucks! (to me)

My only real concern is, what will happen to our existing skins in sPvP? Please give us the choice to not just bring PvE skins in, give us the capacity to bring our PvP skins out! At least for the ones that exists in both game modes.
Other than that, I guess I better start using the stack of glory boosters
I was hoping they’d keep it on the market. Removing the armor wasn’t the solution….
I’m shaking my head at any complaints on this offer. I’ve very happy Anet is being upfront and offering this. As when the kites came out as a “thank you gift” for buying gems, a lot of people complained. Either we would have bought gems or we did buy gems a couple days earlier, etc. Having an offer up front gives everyone a chance to get it if they wish.
Which to me is how the game should be, filled with opportunity. Not having exclusives that benefit a micro percentage of players and gives very little money back to the company to support the game.
For me, yes I’ve purchased a lot of gems. Bought quite a few on Friday before this offer. In fact, I’ve spent quite a bit more than 4k gems this past month before the offer. At least now I have all this month to buy some more. Maybe Gem Cards will be on my Stocking Stuffer/Wish list for Christmas
With every thread on Armor, I start with choice. They simply have to pumping out more Armor choices. I’m not even going to look but a year ago I made a thread simply titled “PANTS”. Because I was so discouraged by the lack of pants on all armor classes. I’m not a fan of the tent skirts, trench coats, flames, skulls, and tribal themes. So I’d like more choice in the game.
Also, I’m all for the skimpier stuff too. Why beach wear wasn’t introduced with Southsun Cove, I have no idea. That’s a Gem purchase Anet missed out on.
extremely…. kittens!
Gold may be "easy " to come by but, it certainly isn’t plentiful enough to cover all my alts and desires. I do not have a single legendary, nor ever had a precursor drop, or even a really great dye. The best drop has been one I just received yesterday, it was white dye. That’s after 4k hours of play!
So I’m stuck just trying to keep up with the cost of virtual living with a family of 11 alts to feed and cloth
I completely agree with the op as it should have a range indicator and a countdown timer. Especially when the mini map radius isn’t always the case. As before I move off a portal entrance I always pop a marker on the mini map. It still misfires from time to time.
Actually, I think Norn’s should have one for each spirit.
Well, TC right now, is placing really low on my list of servers. They really are clueless….
idk… how is running a karma train so perplexing to players? Does it require a video tutorial or something?
Umm… TC why troll a good karma train?
All Ele’s should use Healing Rain to rejuvenate our friendly Krait out of water during those sunny afternoons in DR. Those bricks and cement get’s hot! Maybe even trait for the Krait by adding some soothing mist while walking beside him.
for my poll response, where is the option for
[x] put Flamekiss back on the market, make more T3 variants.
This way those that bought it get to keep it. Those that want it get to buy it. Those that whine can kitten it.
Variants are good, it’s called choice. Especially if they have data that show’s which armors are the most frequently used and make variants of it. This wasn’t lazy, bad form, or whatever other complaints being given. It’s simply giving us a choice!
To the image mafia, whom think they have a right to tell others how to look, you don’t! I’ll look as I darn well want. If I want to walk around without armor, I will indeed do that too. I think every free spirited player should do that for a day to send a message.
For this cultural armor discussion, Tyria is a global civilization. We’re all traveling and seeing the world as we play. Like in the real world, it’s highly probable we’d buy clothing along they way. Hence, buying clothing from any city is completely within the scope of the game. More so, I would say it’s not just probable but, that it should be expected! Whom doesn’t come home with a T-shirt from Hawaii, New York City, or even a place like Disney Land? Did you get asked for proof of residence? Did they deny you and say they only sell to locals? Kitten NO! A shop owner or vendor will sell to whomever wants a product as it’s just clothing. Thus, cultural armors should have always been available to anyone with the gold. It’s just that the fashion sense stems from that culture, no more, no less.
To take it to another level, if you finished story mode, did you not just save Tyria from the Dragons? Do you really think, after saving the world and all, anyone wouldn’t offer you some kitten clothing from their city as a token of appreciation? Also, as an attempt to get you to pimp there city?
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
To the op, I’m hoping the answer is a hard and sharp, no! A small percentage of players raged and took this armor away from everyone. Now you want to keep it as an exclusive on top of it? #smh
