Admittedly, I was raging about two thieves last night. They were painfully (for me) aware of the class mechanics and were abusing the cheesiest ones. It’s like Perplexity Runes right now to me. We’re all aware they are broken and using them is super cheesy. Thus, I avoid using them.
That reminds me I really should bring my ele back into WvW. I used to run it all the time last year when it was one of the weakest builds in game. My one suggestion then was that we should have a couple of skills that use the Staff as a martial artist would use a Bo Staff. For example Gust, let it become a skill that we slam the staff down as a knock back and blast finisher? Even better, another could be like a Warrior or Guardian’s Hammer #4. I think that would make staff feel much more epic and our character’s more skillful.
“No risk = No fun”
That’s simple :P
Actually, it’s not that simple at all. Take me for example, as I do not play or find any fulfillment from risk taking. So there you go, differing player desires Anet has to develop for.
I believe it to be a timer, not a counter. We’ll see how it goes…
If it helps you to know, I’ve died many times over by trying to undo those clumps of mobs. The leash range of mobs in the tower appears to be quite long.
For the mines, yes, you have to be careful and stagger out your pacing with those in front of you. I try to run ahead and plow the road, setting off as many as I can.
It’s really as social as you make it to be. It’s all about communication.
If you’re on a less populated server, guest to JQ. I play odd hours (either afternoons EST or sometimes 7 a.m. EST or after midnight) and tower has been plenty populated every time I’ve been in there.
As a fellow JQ’er, I was going to say the same thing. Because I’ve been pinning up during NA to Zerg the tower a floor at a time. We should have pins in the tower often actually.
If you don’t see one, take the initiative and ask for a zerg in map chat. What I do is set a 5 minute countdown until running the floor. Every minute I call it out in map chat, “Running the 3rd floor in 5 minutes” for example. About the 2 min mark I put down a try of food. By the time I get to 0, there’s enough people to Zerg the floor.
Another hint is to wait for that initial first floor event. When it ends, there’s usually a good number of people grouped up that are going to run the tower.
I’m pretty confident no one has solo’d the tower yet. Even if you ran through it, a party ahead of you opened the passages for you.
For fighting everything, yes, I am a Warrior with a pin and we killed all the things repeatedly. Because we were clearing the way for our server mates to run through it.
This is truly an annoying bug in the game. For me, the ramp in Southsun Cove going down to the beach is notorious for killing me this way.
There’s no reason to do the final instance beyond the couple of times required for the achievement. As long as people keep that in mind, there’s no reason why we can’t keep this content around for a while. Unless, it’s really a countdown timer and we’re only given the illusion of choice in the matter.
I’m more concerned with leash range on the mobs. The first floor mine field some how managed to aggregate several Elite’s and Vet’s. Making it extremely difficult, even for a party, to get through.
I’ve been pinning up just to zerg it floor by floor. It’s really the only way to do it.
For the tower, running in Zerker isn’t that hard. Especially if player’s ahead of you cleared the way. I’ll also assume, like myself, there are WvW player’s bringing in support builds to run the tower. Knowing full well they’ll be plenty of Zerker’s already in there.
This thread hit the “tldr” a while ago. Like Teq, have the boss as an object that doesn’t just hit hard but, hit’s frequently . Hence, the Zerker / Dodge combo shouldn’t be the best choice.
I have some questions about Chambers. Does anyone know the chamber cycle timing? Do we have to hit each Chamber or just find them? Are the content’s of each chamber unique or random no matter which chamber we go into?
thank you for any info….
I’d chose other things to do before video gaming. If a child really wanted to play a game, then I’d try to introduce them to games that are less demanding of their time. Something they can turn on for just 30 minutes to an hour a day.
I can pick apart the female Sylvari’s biomechanical flaws. Instead, it brings up what I usually ask for in this game, freedom of choice. Wouldn’t it be great if we had options to choose the run cycle for our characters? Maybe that’s something we should ask to be implemented?
super-fun daily
Umm.. this is a video game. Shouldn’t we be having fun every day???
For Tequatl, yes I too feel he needs to be scaled back. It was fun for a temporary challenge but, after 2 weeks it should have reverted back. The is the dilemma the Dev’s face, temporary vs permanent content. People complain either way but, when it comes to extra difficulty, it shouldn’t be daily. First Southsun, then Tequatl, and even the new TA path are perfect examples of how to make ghost towns out of content.
Just wanted to say, being able to portal events is fun for me. I’m not a fan of having my abilities blocked. It doesn’t even make sense for story immersion.
Remember the motto, “Play your Way” the next time you feel like removing a players abilities please?
That Mother Father! Whisper’s unite!
….quietly…
Yes, the ‘Tower Hybrid Slayer’ and the ‘Tower Hybrid Master’ achievements are for repeat runs of ‘The Nightmare Incarnate’ instance.
Because I really really wanted to do it again and again
GG I hope they don’t ever thing of changing the female Norn, I’ll quit the game in a heartbeat if they did. They should use the Norn one for the human too, imho. That side to side lurching on the human run cycle is a bit much to me too. For the Sylvari, wow, I really can’t say express how I can’t tolerate it.
My guild theme in Angel’s and this finisher is Kittening AWESOME! Been asking for a back item like this since launch too.
Immobilize is trolly, plain and simple. They should just remove it completely. I’d much rather duke it out with skill, precision, and timing, than troll a person with pseudo condition’s like this.
It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize immobilize stacking was going to be extremely not fun.
If only Anet could figure out a way to nerf Elitism, the game would be really good. For crafting to 80, it was by design. Do you really think it was a random coincidence that crafting equaled 80 character lvl’s?
To the OP, yes they should align the 10 level’s of character experience back to lvl 400. Inflation is an entirely separate matter.
Awesome! Now if we could get some permanent tools without all the affects, I’d be set.
Many of us would consider players uniting to become a stronger unit as rising up!
What if no player who is in their own home borderland could be killed. That wouldn’t affect balance because all 3 worlds have it equally. Would you find that acceptable?
You realize your analogy is completely broken, right? One slightly affects a small area, the other completely breaks the game. One, was how we used to play, the other is something we thankfully never had.
For having Treb’s in the citadel, it was how it used to be. It didn’t prevent the towers from falling. All it did was add a little more difficulty while making it easier to retake the towers.
Wow, GJ Anet! Gorgeous map indeed. Cleaner and more life to it than the ruins added to the bl’s. Looking froward to trying this out.
I am well aware that T1 servers do much more than stack and spam, but they do so with massive communication and organization systems separate from the game. That is not okay, that is a giant flaw in the game mode
Funny, I was just having this conversation the other day. I wish Anet would look at all the 3rd party solutions/websites we use and implement them into the game mode. To have separate forum sections on here for each World. To add voice comm’s to the client or even a separate official client to run. Heck, I’d pay for that!
The fact that one couldn’t place siege inside there own Citadel made very little sense to me. It doesn’t even affect balance because all 3 worlds have it equally. For immersion purposes, this should be allowed without any limits.
I say this even with knowing there’s a high probability the treb shown was pointed at my server
(edited by DeWolfe.2174)
As far as I’m aware, still bugged. Been over the shards with two characters, twice each. Any resolution on this topic?
PSA: The Dolyak parade will be in 1 Hour (7 pm server time) in TCBL! See y’all there!
Sorry to say, I’m calling bunk on this. I think your server forgot the time or something
Yes, the camera also needs an adjustable Z-Axis. Very much so in many cases.
I appreciate that the concept of a larger world come before Guilds. Though more Guild features could always be a good thing.
Since this thread was merged, I don’t know if it’s been mentioned previously but, the one thing the Trinity had was a greater role play capacity. May I ask, does anyone feel truly immersed in their profession? The only profession I don’t have yet, is a necro. Already have the name, just never got around to it. Int he end though, they all feel awfully similar to the point of being a bit tedious. Especially in WvW, there really isn’t a lot of depth to a character and a role. Which is why I say don’t even bother with roles in WvW Dev’s. cough account bound WxP Now in PvE though, there we can do more with our roles since there isn’t such high expectations of ones performance.
The other issue I find is that the game mechanics, our skills and utilities, even combat itself, is all very frenetic. It just doesn’t lead oneself to have a soulful bond with their role as the trinity used to have. At least for me, that’s been my experience. I’ve always been the healer or then a tank. So I do miss them being an option. If you always played a damage dealer, then the Zerker meta in Gw2 is why you haven’t felt like something was missing.
Hope that made sense?!?!?!? As Chopps knows, I put a lot into my Characters
So it’s an important aspect to me.
Weekly Tarnished Coast Dolyak Parade
Hey all! It’s almost that time of the week again!
Can’t wait! Pretty much every alt has been carrying Dollie tonic’s since our first match in July. Yet, I haven’t been lucky enough to join in the fun. How about make this span multiple BL’s at once?
Keiel has some great advice for you. I wasn’t aware of that trick either. I’m also unaware of EU servers to recommend. I’d say guesting is your best ally right now. You can try two other servers every day for PvE players.
For NA server’s, I believe we on JQ probably has the highest number of players on during Aussie prime times.
What we need is simply the ability to tank and heal better. Instead of the Damage/Dodge mechanic that exists now.
I’m all for it OP. I’m for much more freedom of appearance. Not only should every piece of armor have a toggle, each piece should be broken down and have sub toggles. This is mostly for separating sleeves from tops and skirts from leggings.
We should be able to transmute between armor classes too! I find it to be absurd to have these ridged armor classes. As if by appearance we can really tell the classes apart. You can barely even tell an Asura from a Rabbit they are so small!
For the argument of people running around naked, we’ve always had the option to do so. On one of my Ranger’s, a Norn Female, I remember running through Maguuma Jungle doing the whole Jane of the Jungle bit. Nothing but pants, a wooden bow, and a Jaguar. It was a lot of fun. Even though more difficult from not having the gear on
Underwear should be a new type of item. Having it being both customizable and dyeable. Obviously, certain safe guards could be put in place. Maybe something along the lines of only being adjustable while in our home instance? Leading me to wonder why every zone doesn’t have either a homestead, tavern, barracks, or fort for us to enter the home instance.
More wings, less steam punk. To me steam punk is immersion breaking. Wings on the other hand, let’s see where they fit in Tyria…. Oh, I got it, Divinity’s Reach!
I’d pay for Angel Wings just for my Guild even.
Sorry you had a bad experience. It is a social game, so one should expect people to be running in groups, right? Instead of thinking antisocial and punishing others, try being inclusive and joining the group. You might find it’s a lot more fun!
Out of 26 Zones, only 3 have any large group play like farming. The resources given toward and the opportunity for solo roaming by far outweigh any given toward large group play.
There’s this thing called privacy. You don’t need to know, nor I would argue the right to know, what I’m doing. Especially not with my entire account. If you want to know something, ask. Then it’s our choice to tell you or not.
Go to sPvP if you want an inspect feature.
Speed Buff’s help in a JP. How, it get’s it done faster!!! Including the error correcting benefit’s of the extra jumping distance. Anet’s concept of spacing for a full heighter is to defy gravity by having one foot standing on air to make a jump
Torukmakto, I appreciate the thoughtful post and I would agree with one addition. Each class has there damage output adjusted down equal to their speed boost. There’s a reason why RtL was nerfed.
Everyone should have a toggle for the glowing eye’s. It’s be great if we had more appearance options period.
Being a Taller Norn across all professions, I certainly require swiftness to feel like I’m moving at all. It’s bad enough that being huge gives us a giant Bullseye on our backs, right?
I’ve spent SO much gold on Runes just for swiftness.
Can we get a toggle for the “Sack of Junk” heavy armor sound effects, please? It really sounds like a bag full of pots and pans or other junk banging around. I don’t want to turn off all other sound effects, just this one.
TY
Oh …. OP, please make another post on this in the suggestions forum if you haven’t yet.
I like the Angel idea too. Since, well, Angel’s are in my Guild theme
Anet QUICK!… make this for Christmas, puh’ leeeeeeze!!!! The timing couldn’t be more perfect for it.
To me, finisher’s pull me out of the flow of combat. In sPvP, where the number of combatant’s are low, it’s ok. There’s also the “haha” aspect toward the other players. There is no such moment to an NPC in PvE.
If there was a story specific finisher, like a special item to kill that creature, it would make finishers in PvE plausible. Though the usage would have to be tempered and kept low. Otherwise, it would make finisher’s an annoyance really fast.
Ever consider it’s natural to lose interest after a while? People should take breaks from the game now and then. What Living Story does is gives the players things to do on their scheduled returns. Not having periods of stagnation in between that expansion packs create.
Let’s put this thread to bed by saying it was not wise to post the schedule at all. We should have been kept in the dark completely. Simply looking forward to and playing for each week would have been much better, Also, much more competitive.
In the future, I do not wish to know in advance. I’d rather be surprised at reset.
