1) Should this be in the raids etc forum? Cuz I don’t think it applies anywhere else. You speak of PvE, but open world has no need for trinity.
2) We have one elite spec per profession right now. Expac 2 is on the horizon. Once we have more elites, then more roles should open up. Wait and see?
I forget what time of day it was, but recently I went into EotM and found a basically empty map with one third unclaimed. I did see one other person from my color out there, but that was it. I wandered around, claimed a few things, gathered a few nodes, shrugged, and moved to a borderlands map.
So yes, anecdotally, there are some dead spots in the game. But not the game as a whole.
Except gliding, mushrooms, etc, not to mention the associated masteries, are expansion-only. So to keep things even you’d have to exclude all those.
I’d think a new map or at least not-EOTM would be preferable as currently proposed. That Death Fog mechanic would be hard to implement otherwise. Plus if the object is to fight, there are a lot of hiding places in EOTM.
But yeah, better move this to the PvP forum.

Does one really need all waypoints, which I assume is the actual goal? I mean, how long does it take to run from LA to Orr, for example? 15 minutes? I’m not a good judge cuz I always get distracted by nodes and events.
I’m not opposed to getting everything unlocked once you’ve done so on one character, so long as no rewards are associated with it. It’s not something I’d use, but wouldn’t object to others consuming a Gift or better yet buying an unlock pack from the gem store.

I think it’s a very bad idea for a community to “direct” a developer like that. Who would they listen to? How would they prioritize the requests? What if the ideas really are not in the best interest of the game? Who makes these decisions? And, if a request isn’t fulfilled, how is the community to respond?
If I divided correctly, 200,000 gems = $2500 USD. That’s what, a week or two pay for one person? Yeah… no, not happening. And do they hire someone with the “if the community supports you” condition?
If you want to support the developer, then buy gems with real money.
After taking a longer look at the outfit, I do like it. I already have enough outfits though, so am having a hard time convincing myself to buy it. If I had a character that made me think, “Ooo! That would be the perfect outfit!” then it’d be a no-brainer. But, at least for now, I’ll wait.

There are a lot of guilds advertising in-game, and there is a forum here “Looking For…” that you can check out. You can join up to five at once to see if they fit.
Reddit prolly has guild resources, and Google would undoubtedly turn up other GW2 guild sites.

I just checked my account. Since acquiring the set of UM tools, I’ve collected 1800 UM this week without setting foot in a map that would provide UM. That’s doing basic dailies and spending most of my time in WvW, which ain’t got lots of nodes. I did take a spin through an incredibly empty EotM map, and made sure to gather any nodes that showed on the mini map.
1800 “free” UM in 3 days? They are totally worth the cost to me.
I would cast my vote for separating gathering tools skins and functionality. Like some have stated, I will choose the tools that provide the most benefit. But like others have pointed out, it would be nice if I could choose the look and benefit separately, especially if more benefit choices are offered going forward. I’m not overly concerned with how fast they are, though I like the “multi-hit” of these new tools and hope that gets applied to them all.

There’s an expansion coming this fall? Has that been announced or just an assumption? If it is, it is far too late for any suggestions to be implemented. Not to mention, these things have all been mentioned in the past, which a google search would reveal.
Your best bet may be to post your ideas, such as marriage, to the QoL sticky above.

Last night was one of my “short nights” in GW, which means the basic dailies, harvest GH and Home, then if I have time do dailies on the other 4 accounts, and maybe something more fun.
So I bought the new tools, did the above mentioned harvesting plus a few nodes on the way to the daily JP, and gathered a few nodes in WvW. Just that netted me about 400 UM. Since I don’t always have time to venture into the newer maps, for me that’s a pretty sweet deal.
It will also change the way I think about some things. Passing near a copper node? Heck yeah I’ll swing over and get it now!
The problem with allowing everyone to use the same names with the account name added is confusion over which Legolas just <insert insult here> you. With unique names, if you know Legolas just scammed you, then you can take that to support. If one of a billion Legolas’s just scammed you, not so easy to sort out.

B) I don’t watch the videos, so assume others will not. So please post your complaint/suggestion. What profession? What skill(s)?
There’s only one choice for armor, so that’s a non-issue, leaving just weapons.
What do you mean by “most useful?” They are the same as ascended, plus the stat-swapping option. So do you mean, which weapons do you swap stats on most often? Or something else?
If ascended armor came in increments, then Runes could be problematic. If there were long enough delays between increments, then one would want to apply runes. If the increments came quickly enough for runes to not be an issue, then I’d think “why bother” would be the attitude.
I think things are fine as they are.
And what happens in the next expansion when a new map currency and associated tools are introduced? I agree with Astralporing, this is a slippery slope.
If you just bought them, contact support to see if you can get a refund.
While I agree it would be good if something could be done about AFK farming, I don’t think punishing people who play Ranger or MM Necromancer is a good solution.

I have 26 character slots on my main account, and 6 + 6 + 6 + 5 on my other accounts.
So yeah, I’ll get to max eventually on my main account. Not that I’ll ever have time to play them all, but I enjoy creating and leveling characters.
Soon enough you can play as Warrior, Berserker, or <whatever the new elite is called>. And some time after that, you’ll have another choice. BUT, you can switch back and forth between them if desired. Why lock into a choice?

I guess I’m okay with mounts, so long as my asura gets a charr mount. Eh, I guess, to keep things fair, then my norn gets an asura mount. Sucks to be asura.
I’m all in favor of easy access to dueling, so long as it is part of PvP. Click character, right-click > Duel in PvP, both taken to an arena just for the two of them.
Wait, maybe I need to reconsider duels. Is there a reward involved? If so, I could log in two of my accounts, then endless slay an alt to reap the benefits! Woot!
Do other MMOs have event scaling? I haven’t played any others to know. If not, I’d think that would be one consideration, having things like that, all the co-op stuff for the open world (shared boons, heals, etc) that would somehow have to be kept secret. Otherwise, non-duelers could “grief” duelers by spamming boons on them.
There’s already PvP, WvW, and guild arenas. Use them.

I don’t necessarily want everything in my shared slots to show on-screen. I wouldn’t want to consume something accidentally, or activate salvage in the middle of a fight, etc.
I think a consumables bar should be separate.

One advantage to NOT deleting characters is keeping their birth date for birthday gifts.
There is no reason you can’t take a level 80 back through core zones and the personal story to help relearn the game. I’m assuming they all haven’t finished the story and world mapping. That also gives the advantage of having all traits and skills unlocked so you can play with different weapons and builds to see what you enjoy. They are all that much closer to advancing their elites as well.
Teleport via Short Bow skill 5, with the trait for extra initiative.
I’m not sure what you guys expect from a balance patch. Could ANet (or anyone) ever make every single trait line + weapon choice equivalent? I can’t see how players will not always gravitate to whatever becomes most efficient/powerful/meta. That perfect world will never exist.
