While I hope there is some hype for the expansion, I don’t think it’s really needed for a Season release. In this very thread it is stated that a season is only five hours of content, for which one has 2-3 months to complete before the next one, so doesn’t the announcement that “it is coming next week” or the actual release serve just as well?
I’m not a PvPer, but just want to note that you can immediately enter PvP, no need to wait for level 80.
Feel free to level up then go back and do the zones and story. Having everything unlocked – skills and traits, exotic gear – then lets you experiment with weapons and builds, which I find enjoyable. Other than getting story rewards which you won’t use – level 20 gear for your level 80 – there isn’t much of a penalty. Plus you can run through the story from start to end without having to gain 10 levels for the next chapter to unlock.
And, of course, feel free to tackle level 80 content as well.
I just use a birthday + XP + food + utility and go clear zones. As you go, kill the yellow critters since the longer they stand around, the bigger an XP boost you get. Plus it keeps the killstreak boost going.
Really, anything you do in this game awards XP. If you need a break from open world stuff, switch to WvW for a while, or do some crafting if you have the materials for it, or map the home cities. It’s all good.
As I understand it, the forum software will not be updated/fixed. Note the broken Search function. So good luck.
There are a bunch of poll tools/sites out there that could be used though. Although, player-created polls (IMO) are often flawed – “choose the answer I want or choose this cruddy answer” kinda stuff.
If you completed the starter zone for your race, then zoom out the map and portal over to another race’s starter zone and carry on. You will have one portal for each available.
Until you get comfortable with the game, I recommend continuing to explore maps and discover all the “points” on each – hearts, vistas, etc. You can also get XP and rewards for mapping the cities, one for each race plus Lion’s Arch. There are portals in each town for free travel.
Dragonhunter
Ranger
Thief
Would be my top three.
Other than when everything crashed the other night, zero trouble.
Arizona, US, so NA servers.
I would never want a race/profession change item for myself. I have 1 norn and 1 charr that are just parked at chests, doomed to never see any real play time. I won’t delete them since they are from launch, but don’t mind logging them in for the chest rewards and eventual birthday rewards.
As the game continues to grow, I can see the value of race/profession change items. When it was just core Tyria, I’d say sure, just create a new toon. But now there is so much more to uncover plus HP’s, Masteries, etc that there could be value in swapping your race and/or profession. Maybe it just locks the personal story, I dunno. But people change and the game changes, so a choice would be good.
But charge a bunch o’ gems for it! ;P
How else will I finish my Daily when the PvE ones are annoying?
SkyShroud.2865I don’t see how introvert you are when you are willing to start a thread about it.
It’s easy (at least for this introvert) to communicate online rather than in-person. That applies to in-game as well.
A more serious response, compared to my first post:
I too play primarily solo, but enjoy running with a pack as well. I don’t normally chitchat when doing so, partially because I can’t type and play at the same time. But if someone asks for help (“how do I get to this PoI?”) I will gladly team up with them and help them out. Again, for me, much more comfortable to do so in a virtual environment than in-person.
I’d add something to this discussion, but am too shy.
Just a flesh wound.3589How about boots with green fumes? The owners can role play that they have stinky feet.
If you get Green Boots I get Brown Pants. :O
I ran the OP thru the google translator and still didn’t understand. I guess it just doesn’t matter…
But I must say the forum is blazing fast!
Now I can’t log in. Endless swirly loading screen.
I can’t get into the Guild Hall or Home. Tried 2 accounts on 2 computers.
Been around since the beginning.
1689 hours in 1691 days.
Regardless of a mount’s functionality, I just don’t want to have to try to see around a winged norn on a giant winged lizard. The winged norn is bad enough.
“Retreat!” could be simply “Run!” Forwards, backwards, it don’t matter.
“Save Yourselves!” is fine.
That’s what I do, dailies such as the veteran critter or monument, and I finished the GoB track quite a while ago for if I ever decide to make a legendary. If I find WvW to be “crowded” then I try another map or just skip it that day.
Sometimes if I find myself unable to sleep early in the morning, I head into WvW and farm it since there are often very few players then.
Yeah, I pretty much play WvW as PvE.
It used to bother me when an opposing player killed me, but now I just view it as a hassle, having to find another guard to kill or monument to claim. And I have even managed to kill another player or two — but they were probably PvE scrubs like me.
sigh Yet another AFK farming thread? Merge please?
I don’t see how any of the mentioned BDO stuff adds any kind of fun to the game. Gathering water? Really? I’m more in favor of Anet figuring out how to log out AFKers better.
The addition of a “noisy glider” is ironic considering the still popular post about changing/reducing other item’s sound (ie, a certain bow).
As a desert dweller, this concept of going from broiling hot to freezing is exaggerated. Even if the temperature drops fifty degrees (F), if it is that hot during the day (say 120) then it still only gets to 70 at night. Hardly requiring both extremes. Of course, this is a fantasy setting, so I suppose a game designer could exaggerate such a place.
Still, since we can carry vast amounts of food, beverage, and materials with us, a survival setting seems highly unrealistic. Right now we can go endlessly, no need to stop for dinner or sleep, so where does “building a shelter” fit? Now, if there were fantasy elements, like poison gas, quicksand, etc that could be overcome with masteries, then maybe. But that seems like boring masteries.
All professions can fit that bill. Elementalist with daggers, Ranger with a melee weapon, even Mesmer with swords.
You have five character slots, so start creating characters to see what they are like. If you have the insta-80 boost, you can use that to test out professions with all skills unlocked without having to commit to any one.
Maybe someone with ESO experience will come along and offer something more specific.
I don’t know what exactly “battlemage” means to you, and have not played ESO, but a Druid has a ranged attack with support. Elite form of Ranger.
Remember that other than high-end content like raids, dedicated support is unnecessary.
I’m not really grasping what you are after. Your title suggests roleplaying, which to me means that you create a character and bring it to life, infusing it with whatever personality you wish. So any profession would work. You could have a “paladin” engineer, for example. The profession doesn’t limit the personality, since the character has no personality until you give it one.
If “Lionguard” = Yellow, and that color theme is a requirement, then that means Warrior. Each profession has a color theme, as you noticed with Guardian being blue.
Which class fits each month? That one has me totally lost, no idea what you are after with that.
I too once had over 1000. Now I keep it at 500 and sell extras. While I don’t have any immediate plans for a legendary, you never know. But I can always use the gold for something now.
How many coins are you talking about?
Would trying to scroll or otherwise change the camera on a screenshot or video count?
I would much rather have new maps added than existing maps reshaped, combined, or otherwise revamped. Sure, add events/bosses/whatever, but don’t spend the effort to add physical features of any significance.
Gaile GrayDual- or Multi-Boxing
1.You may use more than one account at the same time.
2.You may use more than one computer at the same time.
3.You must be actively playing on each account.
4.And as stated above, you may not program your keyboard to perform functions on more than one account at a time.
a. For example, if you press W on your keyboard to move forward, a single character on a single account should move forward. The keystroke or mouse click should not perform functions on more than one account.
There has been a clear statement.
I think it could just be more concise. Often, if you are with multiple NPCs, it seems each must speak on each “topic” which makes the conversation unnecessarily long.
Personally, I preferred the original cut scene version.
moonstarmac.4603The thing to remember is just because a person is dual-boxing using a shared keyboard control does not mean they are botting.
Which would also be an offense that could lead to a ban.
All the time. Except maybe the “really high” part, I think that’s just you.
Pressing K? Did you remap the charm function, ’cuz normally it is an F.
And if this is already someone else’s pet, it will still give you the option but will not do anything. Maybe I only see that when someone is logging in or entering a town? Like, the pet arrives before they do?
Is “trash” literally the trash items, or are you lumping other things in there – white, blue, green…? ‘Cuz they say one man’s trash…
Personally, I have no problem with the current drops.
Would a RAM upgrade fit in your budget? 4GB seems rather low for systems nowadays.
Others will chime in on graphics I’m sure, but the question gets asked often so if you simply scroll down you’ll find recent posts on it.
Being in Arizona, I’m not sure how much your budget translates into US dollars.
If you’re just running around open world PvE and dabbling in WvW, then why change your gear at all? Why follow a meta? Better to perhaps tweak your traits and utility skills if you find that balance changes have lessened the desirability of skills and traits you were using.
You could play it on your PC with a controller. Google it, people are doing so.
Yeah, but I’m cheap with my gold as well as my cash (gems). :O
Oh, and I have not yet traded gold for gems. I’m at that point in my life where buying 2000 gems every once in a while is not an issue.
I was hoping they would hit today, too. I have plans for three. I guess I’ll break down and get them, while still hoping for the sale to carry over into April and I can get a refund.
How many gems for the Singles Meet Upgrade?
The pros & cons of a new race have been argued to death. Google it.
If a new race is fully integrated:
“New voice actor” = tons of work (expense) to record every existing place a character is used plus going forward just that much more. Male + female, unless the birdmen are unisex and all sound the same (and the community would not accept that). Plus I would assume there would be a number of birdman NPCs needing voices, so add that to the mix.
“New animations” = similar, 2x for male + female (if unique). And sorry, I don’t view “new animations” as new content.
“Etc” = That’s the kicker. How many armor sets are out there? How slow is Anet about creating new ones? Add to that two more (male + female bird) and it takes even longer. Armor is just an example, but a major hurdle. The real issue is that everything they do now is slow, so you want to add to that burden by adding two new models to deal with? With the community already complaining of a lack of new content?
And as I stated originally, I don’t think the GW2 playerbase would be happy if they only got a few new armors to choose from and none of the existing. Same with the story.
While I would like to see new classes, I imagine we’ll only be seeing new elite specs for each, since we have a “balance” of 3-each weight class.
I personally would prefer they spend their efforts elsewhere rather than on a new race. The amount of work it would take to make one work hardly seems worth the cost. And if they excluded a new race from all existing things (armor, story) then it seems not worth the effort.
I can, if punctuation is allowed:
I must, of course, object to the use of “must of.”
Eddbopkins.2630i want to kill a boss to get a claim ticket or a peace of the mob to take back to some npc or something
This is in the game. You collect things and trade them in for things you want. Aka, currencies, of which karma was just one example. By way of extension, you also earn gold in-game which you can use for obtaining the skins you want. That’s a big part of the game, whether you trade it in for gems or buy off the TP.
Multiple ways to acquire weapon skins are available in the game: buy off the gem store, open BLTC chests hoping for claim tickets, kill things, buy with in-game currency (such as karma), earn from achievements or collections, buy with gold on the trading post, exchange gold for gems and buy off the gem store, and more.
