What, you’ve never heard of Megadeath?!
@Gaile: Yet another reason why dogs are superior. They eat anything!
So… when do we get Hungry Happy Dogs?
Builds for PoF? It doesn’t come out until 9/22, so personally I wouldn’t bother making too many plans since things can change.
Unbound Magic (UM) is a currency in the LS Season 3 maps. They are a part of Heart of Thorns, so if you don’t have that and do not intend to get that, they are of no value to you.
Using the UM tools allows you to collect UM in addition to whatever node you are collecting.
I can see that it would be fun to leap off a mount and glide, but if another mount already goes vertical, then there may be no functional need to do the mid-air dismount.
Legendary armor = Raids, WvW, or PvP.
There is a wiki, link at top of page, and it provides all the info you seek.
Of course 3200g is possible. I hover around 1600-1900 on my account, constantly spending it and earning more. You’d just need patience and a budget to get to 3200. How long that would take depends entirely on you. Instantly, via credit card, or years, via slowly gathering…
[edit] I hit 3000g once, then starting in on Ascended Armor and traded some for gems… Now 1800g is my norm.
What is the average skill activation time? 1/2 second? 3/4 second? Your bard would get to play 1-3 notes, maybe. And auto-attack would drive me crazy, methinks. Or do they sing? That would be worse.
Unless a bard in an MMO doesn’t work via music, in which case perhaps your vision of a bard needs further explanation. And saying “a bard like Game X” isn’t helpful.
Look through the Traits to find things that trigger under certain conditions. Heals when health drops to X%, or condition cleanses when you get X number of condis on you, or X happens when you are stunned, etc.
From the wiki (link at the top of this page):
Limitations:
You cannot send mail to your own characters; use the Account Vault to transfer items between them.
New accounts cannot compose mail until the highest level character has reached level 6.
Paid accounts (newly created or upgraded from Play4Free accounts) cannot send or receive any mail attachments until 7 days (of real-world) time have passed.
The amount of items and coin transferable is capped for newer accounts. The cap is gradually alleviated as you progress in the game.
Free accounts can only send mail to a player who has added the free account holder to their friend list.
You cannot send excessive messages in a short span of time.
You cannot see your sent mails
There is a weekly limit of 500 gold that you can accept through the mail system. Gold will be held in your inbox until it can be collected.
Arenanet does this to hinder gold sellers and such. Be patient, everything will open up to you in time.
Sounds like a great idea. Include the passes, too (Divinity Reach, Elona, Home, etc).
If you entered Home as part of a story instance, the nodes would have been removed.
Oh great. I can’t play a charr because of their run motion. I hope I can play PoF! (I won’t get to try until tonight or sometime Saturday)
How would you send mail to Bob when there are a million Bob’s?
What, exactly? If it’s in the demo, it’ll be in the game?
If by “crafted” you mean purchased from the gem shop, then absolutely!
I had that happen last night. Entered the “door” past the Tooth in Holebark and ended up in the home instance in the Citadel. That made me realize I’d missed a couple of PoI’s there. Got them, exited, ended up back in Holebark.
Woof!
I really don’t know what you are referring to. “100 things popping up?” “Random small chest…”? Can you please provide some specifics?
GW2 is a huge game. There are a great many systems in place. It is now and has always been complicated. To keep players interested, Anet will keep adding to it. I don’t see a problem with that.
I’d say the best answer is: the one you enjoy the least. If a profession is “hard to level” but you enjoy playing it, that lessens the burden.
For me… definitely Mesmer. I’d put Revenant and Elementalist close behind.
Well, it’s been too long for me to remember the particulars, but don’t you need your Hall of Monuments setup in GW1:EoTN before you can link them? Have you done anything with that yet?
I’m at 57. I just keep going. If I’m missing something, I don’t notice.
So I’m not sure how it holds you back.
Did you get the 9 points they recently added to Core?
If you’re willing to spend “normal money” then get the unbreakable harvesting tools from the gem shop and earn UM every time you gather something, in any zone, home instance, guild hall or WvW.
You do realize that Anet owns everything, can change anything, you own nothing, and that you agreed to all this when you clicked the check box stating so? Right?
You can download GW2 right now, and it will be getting updated along the way prior to release (Sept 22). That has already begun, actually.
Has anyone else noticed a “no mount zone”?
So how does a preview weekend work? Do I take in my level 80 main, or do I need to create a new character, or is some sort of “preview-only character slot” provided?
If existing characters go in, how does loot and consumables work? Loot gets removed when exiting, gold gets reset, consumables return to whatever quantity they were at?
As a holder of five accounts, I think the prices are terrific!
@Bears Man: Are you sure about that? I see no indication. What I do see for pre-purchasers is this:
“Pre-purchase before launch and receive one Sunspear Weapon Skin of your choice, a Miniature Balthazar, and the title of Elonian Envoy. "
I don’t see why they would change, Travel Items and Mounts are two different things. Toys vs. functional items.
But Anet could surprise.
I’m referring to actually playing on that account, rather than just logging in. My four alt accounts have 6-6-6-5 characters on them, all but one each level 80, with the last slot for weekly key runs. If you want to be able to do dailies, that means a level 80 that can get to JP’s or Orr harvesting or WvW or whatever.
If the dailies are easy enough, I do them on all 5 accounts, plus gather the home nodes and guild nodes. That takes a bit of time, even with two computers in the office. If you want to develop the alts more than that, then you’re taking time away from your main.
Re: Bank space, just remember all the Account bound stuff. And I hope you have a guild bank you can use to share stuff, cuz mail is a bother with its limitations.
I have 5 accounts. Two full price, the other three cheap on Amazon, only the main account HoT and PoF.
The only negative is the distraction of spending time on them. The game rewards people who dedicate their time to one account and/or one character. Of course, if someone spends enough time in-game, I suppose it doesn’t matter too much, but that’s not me.
I like the outfit and have been wearing it on a couple of my toons. How many times were complaints voiced here regarding overly detailed outfits? Well, here’s one for the “simple crowd,” including me.
I wasn’t overly excited about any of the weapons.
I just have to ask… what does “kms” mean? Or is it a typo?
Amazon is your friend.
I concur with Kormeg’s analysis.
If you buy just PoF, you get the core game as well. That’s the level 1-80 experience.
I did the pre-order Tuesday night and the gems arrived with a mail announcement Thursday night.
I’m good with a spider mount for my necromancer.
So long as I can dye it fluorescent pink.
My Norn still hopes for an Asura mount!
Have you seen the new Mesmer Elite? That may be as close as you get.
Good luck on any new professions. We have elite specs to fill that role in GW2.
Have you tried the free version? It is vastly different than the paid version. Yes, you get to play the core game for free, but the limitations placed upon it are significant.
And what game doesn’t get cheaper over time? Or almost anything, except maybe cars.
And we vets do get “a bit more.” We don’t have to spend $20 to buy HoT, which we already own.
Regarding tomes and insta-20/30/40 boosts: speak for yourself, I never have enough of them, they are far from useless.
I really like my Guardian/Dragon Hunter for open world stuff. I equip all trap skills and reel ’em in. Love it!
Besides… a Giant Bear riding a Giant Bunny would just be silly. Oh, wait…
@Djinn: Let’s just hope for a catapult mount! Give us a gold ol’ launch!
@Djinn: It’s difficult to properly respond when we haven’t played the game yet. I can’t imagine dismounting is any more difficult that pressing a key. So now it’ll be <dismount key> + <jump key> rather than just <jump key>. Is that really a big deal?
Also, if you consider how many PVE maps GW2 began with, and how many there are now and yet to come, the player population can/will get spread thin.
Still, I normally do 5 key runs every weekend and have yet to be alone in those starter instances or in the starter maps.
All anecdotal, of course, but that’s what this thread is about.
I don’t understand, either. I see people everywhere I go, whether that be new or old maps.
Are you in an active guild? (sorry if you mentioned that in your wall of text) Regardless of map populations, an active guild makes a huge difference for socially-minded people, or those seeking help with content.
I assume we can do both. Has something been said about gliding not functioning in PoF maps?
There is a bundle. At checkout, you can add HoT at a discounted price. If I understand correctly, if you buy PoF for $30, the bundle price is $50. In other words, normal expansion price.
