Personally, other than achievements, rewards, etc, I don’t think you’re missing much with the story.

Or you can farm up some gold and buy Season 2 from the gem shop. LS1 is not available, so other than a “what did you miss” recap, so nothing to buy there. I don’t know if the Season 3 chapters are available yet. Depending on when you logged in, you may have gotten 1 or 2 of the 3.

I’m glad I started charging quartz in my home instance long ago. Now, it is only the other 1/day ascended ingredients slowing down ascended armor. But I’m okay with that, no hurry. I’ve finished a heavy set and three pieces of medium, so am about half way through the ascended achievement. After those, will most likely only craft exotics.

I would like charged quartz to be tradable, since my alt accounts get it from the node and have nothing to do with it.

Meh, if you all would just follow the Human Female Meta, none of this would be an issue and we’d have a thousand more armor sets in-game already. Hmm, should I have included “ever-shrinking” in there somewhere?

That stuff is weirdly inconsistent. Also, why can you combine 4 of anything up to rares in the Forge, but you can’t mix armor and weapons once you hit exotic?

Some things just can’t be tossed into the Mystic Forge. Some things, if you can’t salvage or sell, all you can do is delete if they are no longer of value.

In-game, you can try adding a desired name to your contacts to see if it is in use. But again, if the server is having issues, it won’t matter what you try.

I assume the next expansion will include another one. I am rather surprised they haven’t been offered in the gem shop yet. I doubt I would ever buy one, but wouldn’t deny such a luxury to others.

With the recent birthdays, I have a small pile of the level 40 boosts, so my last two toons started there. I still use the level 20’s and 30’s for a key farmer.

I always assumed the armors released early in the gem shop had been created during the game’s development, then set aside so they could sell them. Rather than assuming they had been created after the game launched.

But if it’s too dark, then nobody can see my bling! :O

As it is, unless I look up and see stars, I never notice when it is night.

The GW servers are experiencing a DDOS attack. Look in the tech support forum. I was able to finish my dailies for 4 accounts this morning after giving up last night, so had hoped it had ended, but apparently not.

So there’s nothing you can do but wait it out.

If my daughter and I get too involved in discussing Star Wars or a super hero movie, my wife likes to say, “You guys know this is just a movie, right? It’s not real?”

There already are maps that present greater challenge, those intended for level 80’s. So why would the “level up” maps need to be made more challenging? I imagine everything new at this point will be level 80, so your choices will just keep growing.

Also, as the game expands, the playerbase will naturally get thinned out. At the time of this posting, there is another thread complaining that not enough players are in Southsun. Recently, there was a post about not enough players to do bandit champions. I don’t think we want more challenging content added if the players will be gravitating towards newer, shinier maps.

And you only need the core game for that. Find it on Amazon for cheap — just make sure it is a new copy, not used.

I’m okay with adding Tengu, so long as Big Bird does the voice acting.

I was one of those lucky souls to get my primary account locked out shortly after the game launched. I had multiple accounts in GW1 so was fairly certain that I would in GW2, so went ahead and “brought another account over from GW1.” Good thing, since it took quite a while for support to get to me. So I paid full price for that account.

Since then, I added accounts each time they went on sale prior to HoT’s launch (were they $10?), then I bought a core account cheap on Amazon after HoT, so now have five.

It does divide my time somewhat, even though I do focus on my primary account, so that is a negative. But I get 5X login rewards, can harvest 5X a day, sometimes do dailies 5X a day, and when a festival comes around, I can do those 1/day things 5/day. I’ve made some good coin during the new year celebration (hello lucky envelopes).

I don’t buy any gems or otherwise upgrade those four accounts at all. Any extra gold and non-account bound goodies go to the main account. Excess dyes and minis get passed down in order of oldest to newest, so right now the newest account has some fairly boring dye choices.

It helps that I have two computers in the office, so can easily get the alt accounts into my home instance, or do FE and such with two. You know… 1-1-1-1-1-1-1.

@DaniEdwards — Character Slots were on sale a couple months ago. I bought three, but am about ready for some more, and have unspent gems.

Has this been fixed yet? I DC’d last night and just shut down and moved on to TV.

Player housing There are empty homes out there you can… what… sit in? This is an often suggested feature, use google to find previous threads.

Professions Have you played through the main story? Which order you pick counts there. But yeah, it’d be nice to have more “quests” with the chosen faction.

Farmer You know you can just make potions via crafting, right?

You can do the story any time, assuming you are high enough level. I often wait until level 80 to do more than level 10 story.

I +1 this idea. Maybe include a “next” option to cycle early if you get one you really don’t like? Or like IWN indicated, check boxes for the ones to include.

T4: If two consecutive weeks’ worth of meals are missed, the character is automatically deleted. Rangers are the exception: instead of automatic deletion, every 2 weeks they permanently lose a pet due to eating it.

(2) Weapon skins. I too would buy more weapon skins if I could simply pick and choose from the gem store, rather than deal with tickets. Right now I have 7 tickets in my bank, but I hold onto them “just sure the next set will be better.”

(3) Grind. I’m not sure what exactly you’re complaint is against grind — what are you grinding, exactly? And throwing out the name of another game means nothing to me, you would have to make actual arguments or comparisons.

(5) Lack of Content. I’m not a WoW player, but since you brought it up… Looking on the wiki I see WOW expansions every two years. Anet is working on the next expansion. Game release, 2012. Expansion, 2015. In between, multiple LW releases. How is this different?

I’m not thrilled with the mastery point system and “disappearing XP.” I think XP should always count for something. That probably goes back to my pen & paper gaming days. My main account right now gets nothing for XP unless I’m leveling an alt. My four non-HoT accounts get nothing for any level 80. Yes, I know I could finish masteries blah blah blah, but I’m not always focused on that and am “playing the way I want” so am not there yet. Thus, wasted XP.

So many nice features have been added, so I would not want to hit the reset button. No gliding? No thank you. I already suffer that on my non-HoT alt accounts. You’d want to give up multi-salvage, shared slots, permanent harvest tools, and mega-expanded materials storage? The list goes on.

That slot is “seasonal” and I expect it to remain until it is replaced with a Wintersday gift. I hope they have some in-between seasonal items lined up for us.

But there’s so little weather in Tyria! Capes and cloaks really are useless!

That’s really the thing, what about another Outfit is going to entice me?

When there were 5 or 6 outfits, getting another one as an option was interesting. Now, there are so many outfits and so many minis and so many gliders, and they come out so quickly, nothing individually registers any more.

That’s kinda where I am. I already have a number of outfits and gliders. I don’t really care about minis. I have 3000+ gems sitting, been there for quite a while actually, hoping for some QoL, convenience, or something truly enticing to be offered. I haven’t bought gems for quite a while (and I always use cash) since there’s nothing I’ve wanted to spend them on since they last offered character slots.

Offer another node for my home (I don’t really care what it is), another bank tab, another shared slot (or three), maybe a new armor set, or something else that actually gives me a +1 to my account and I’ll gladly spend the gems sitting in my wallet and replenish them.

But I really don’t need or want another shiny (outfit, glider, mini) since I have too many already.

Perhaps you need to explain your ideas further. For example, what does the game look like without any levels? Making the game “being about having fun” could mean a great many things to a great many people (Mounts, Fishing, Housing are just a few oft-mentioned items). I really have no idea what the game you are envisioning looks like.

I like your ideas. For this point, did you mean experience points, or did you have some other points system in mind? The previous comments re: concern about playing sub-80’s may go away if it isn’t strictly XP being used.

[edit] I usually have 1-3 sub-80’s I play out of many possible toons, and I wouldn’t have a problem if they did not add to the “points” since as it is, they don’t add to mastery points, and right now I’m one of those “wasting XP” due to my lack of focus on mastery points.

Wouldn’t that have to root you in place while you anxiously await your weapon’s return? And wouldn’t the auto attack be rather slow, since you lose your weapon, wait for it to complete its arc, do a fancy catch animation, then wind up and throw it again?

I have a hard time envisioning it as a main-hand weapon. Maybe an off-hand?

Either way, I’m doubtful we will see any new weapons added until they have exhausted all current weapons through new elite specifications. But Anet could surprise us.

When Tyrian’s want to have fun, mostly they go out and slaughter innocent critters, chop down young (never old!) trees, and uproot plants from unsuspecting farmer’s lands.

I farm 1-5 keys per weekend, so will just keep using those. Nothing good since this change, and that’s 5 free keys, +1 from a login reward, +4 farmed last weekend.

I hope they put in an interesting “seasonal” soon to make it more worthwhile.

I assume you mean as part of a black lion chest reward? They are a “seasonal” item, so I assumed they would remain until the next “season.” So maybe until Wintersday?

I would like to see in-between items of some sort. Especially considering we have a glut of festivals between Halloween and Super Adventure Box (April 1st-ish), then, what, nothing?

I can only stand to use any of the wings on an asura. They’re just too big and obscuring otherwise. Now as a glider, I think they’re terrific.

Too bad they didn’t just release a white set that could be dyed.

Radiation field on the Asura in a condition build thief. Trait Caltrops. Drop Caltrops on a target such as two rams at a gate manned by the enemy. Drop radation field on top the caltrops. 15 seconds of Poison field. Whirl inside with deathblossom and apply poison,

Any that stay manning the rams are dead in short order and the rams themselves take a whole lot of damage..

This also works very well on Pve Bosses and large monster groups.

That sounds interesting, but I’m not sure what “trait caltrops” means. Or should that have been “equip caltrops?” Or did you mean the trait that drops caltrops when you dodge?
