I hope you’ve contacted support?
When it’s ready. Or, wait, no….
I too spend a lot of time in the Tyrian maps. It’s good to take a break from the “goals” and just clear a zone. I always have an alt to work on, even if they now begin at level 40. So always something productive to do in even the beginner zones.
It’s more of a convenience item than a way to generate gold. I wouldn’t be opposed to aa buff, but don’t see the need.
Except… greatswords can shoot power beams and daggers can fling fire. This is a fantasy game, no need to limit possibilities. Besides, often Warrior = Gladiator, and gladiators have been depicted as using tridents.
Maybe the spear gun becomes another ranged weapon for an Engineer? Flame, Explosive & Sticky “Javelins”? I dunno.
Dogs love cats. Especially with gravy. Mmmm!
So when do dog lovers get some love?
I wish they would regularly do themed weekends, just to mix things up a bit. We’re at Halloween now, so there are ToT bags dropping out there in the wilds. Wintersday is up next, then the new years. SAB sometime after that. And that’s it, right?
They could supplement their (too few) celebrations with themed weekends (or weeks) – valentines day (chocolates?), pirate day (booty!), st patties (clovers?) – whatever. It wouldn’t have to be as big as Halloween with the Lab etc, just toss some drops in from killing critters and add them to the dailies like we have now with ToT’s.
Why only spears? Why not tridents? Why not spear guns?
I think there is potential there, but would want them to get all current weapons to all professions first through upcoming elite specs.
How is this different than Anet just making a new elite spec? ’Cuz (using your example) the “Vampire Blood” elite does not exist and Anet would still have to create it.
And isn’t part of the appeal of an Elite spec that they do have some sort of new functionality? If a warrior whacks away with their sword as a vanilla or whacks away with their sword as the new “Whacker Elite,” then other than the numbers being a bit different, how does that change game play?
LA takes a while for me, but nothing like that. 45 seconds? Of course, that can feel like 10 minutes…
You guys are saved. I read this thread, went home yesterday, and sold 500 of my 1800+ MC’s. Problem solved! Not to mention, that 300+ gold helps with my current crafting endeavors.
There is gear. Exotic > Ascended > Legendary. Do you have all that already?
I think I’ve worn mine once since those early days. If people like a ballcap, Anet should offer one similar. Maybe with the expansion’s logo?
Hylophobia. Fear of trees. It’s a thing.
Last I knew, Batman had the corner on the Batwings.
Yes, I believe it is a necklace. Again, saw it pop from the ToT bag, saw it was account bound, so moved it to a safe bag to decide upon later. So that is a “poly-whatever” which is different than what the OP is hoping for, I take it?
Both would be very welcome additions to the game!
I’m sure I’ve opened less than 200 ToT bags. But hey, this is the first true shiny I’ve gotten in four years!
Wait. Are you talking about the amulet with the infusion from a ToT bag? I got one last night, said, “Oh that’s nice.” It’s account bound, so I figured I had time to decide which toon got it. So I can extract the infusion and make a ton of gold? How do I extract it, just a BL salvage kit?
There may be merit to your suggestion if explored a bit more.
Wouldn’t that make vistas and jumping puzzles pointless? And if falling, due to a glider, isn’t a problem, then where’s the challenge?
Adding nine elite specs with their associated new mechanics will be challenging enough. Anet struggles to balance now with only one elite spec per profession. Adding two at once would be one too many.
I’d be more than happy with one.
Originally, didn’t all events show? But then it was too much info, so they reduced it to show only nearby events? While on “daily event” days that would be good, the rest of the time I think it would be too much info.
For me, a casual/easily distracted player, this game is huge and has nearly endless things to do. As mentioned, upgrading weapons and armor to Ascended is a good goal. That includes time-gated material (“craft 1/day”) not to mention collecting the necessary mats if you don’t already have them, so can take a long time. Google “gw2 efficiency” to look up crafting needs as well as being able to browse your account. Great tool.
Look through the Achievements and note those that are of interest or have a reward or you are just close enough to finishing that you could spend a bit of time to knock off, such as a Slayer.
Have you finished the Personal Story?
Have you explored Dry Top and Silverwastes?
Right now Halloween, and soon Wintersday, will be good focuses.
For the new builds, I spend time on the wiki looking at weapon skills and how traits would impact them, making note of things that either complement each other or look like they’d be fun to try. Add runes and sigils to that. You can look up the meta builds (google it), but without HoT most won’t help you.
Dang it! Now I gotta quit using shield on one of my warriors! Why did I read this dang thread?
Halloween is happening right now in LA.
Just report them in-game and move on.
I like the idea, but how could you limit sales to cash rather than gold-to-gems? Or is that possible now, with buying HoT on the store?
WinchesterThank you very much for reading my suggestion and opinion, feel free to share yours in your comment section below
Sorry for sharing my opinion, I could’ve sworn you asked me to.
WinchesterI never understood people like you who think they can speak on the developer’s behalf when they claim to know Anet’s plan, how many people are working on the game and how many resources they have.
When did I state anything remotely relating to Anet’s plans, staffing, or resources? Have you really played this game? Have you played any of the personal story? I only stated that the purpose of the home instance is a place for that story to play out. I pointed out the current state of the game.
Then I offered a suggestion, which again I coulda sworn you asked me to, which was that your suggestion was more akin to an often-requested feature for player housing, which you could peruse endlessly with a simple google search.
WinchesterYou can say you don’t like the idea but lying right out here in the forums facts you can’t possibly know if you’re not working there is absurd.
I again stated my opinion that I would not enjoy having to tend to servants, home, etc, else they “deteriorate” if I step away from the game. I’ve played GW1/2 since the beginning in 2005 and this has never been part of their game. With their games being non-subscription, a player never feels forced to play, but free to take a break and not miss out on anything (insert asterisk here for “seasonal” stuff). Thus, my opinion that if such a feature was added, it wouldn’t be something I would do. There are many things in this game I don’t do, but I don’t deny others if they enjoy it.
If that quote of yours was trying to communicate something else, I apologize since it came out unclear.
Finally, have I ever been anything but calm? I don’t remember even using an exclamation mark! And you’ll have to quote some toxicity in the thread, since I’m not seeing any by anyone. Or was something deleted by a moderator?
Nope. Don’t know what that’s like. I assume you condense it into larger chunks of luck?
Yep, casual player here who began at the beginning (but there have been some breaks), and I just hit 147% for the account MF last night. I have never once intentionally purchased things just to salvage for luck.
The point is you are asking to change the Home Instance into something it shouldn’t be, since then it would not serve the Personal Story. My suggestion is for you to suggest something other than changing the Home Instance — such as the too-often-suggested Player Housing idea (google it).
And I did express my opinion of not wanting to “work” in a game to maintain my “home” since what you suggested sounds like a lot of work (hire workers, feed them, etc).
And I don’t feel it is good for the game to have these NPCs creating income for you, aka gathering, rather than you doing the gathering yourself.
My opinions.
@Necrotic – You could, I don’t know, make Ascended gear with it?
@OP
What you’re asking for is something other than the Home Instance. Our Home serves primarily as a story instance, secondarily as a place for the nodes and other things we’ve collected.
I’d say it’s more along the line of the oft-requested player housing. Personally, if they added all that “gotta play/pay to maintain it” junk, I would skip it. If it was just a smaller space to go for your nodes, then sure.
In a non-subscription game that for the most part doesn’t penalize people for taking a break, I don’t see “keep your people fed or they starve” as fitting into Anet’s plan. I also don’t see “hirelings doing your gathering” as fitting Anet’s plan. May as well allow bots if they allow that.
HesaconI’m sylvari, I still haven’t fully recovered from my ordeals. I don’t know what’s Realtree anymore.
Fixed that for you.
You realize that the holiday begins in less than a week? If you had ideas, you should have posted them long ago if you hoped to get them into this year’s event. Maybe wait to see what they roll out and make a new post: What I Hope to See Next Year?
I vote for mounts. With capes.
I probably take that long to do a key run. I’m admittedly easily distracted, though. I mean, who can say no to villagers crying for help or a caravan being attacked by centaurs? And look! What’s that shiny stuff over there? Think I can dig some up with this pick I just happen to have,,, er… in my backpack?
I will add that it is possible to take the Mystic Forge with you everywhere you go. Yes, it still takes time to toss runes and sigils in, but that gets them out of inventory at the cost of adding one more permanent item.
It’s been suggested many times before. Just make the runes and sigils salvage into dust or some low end material. Done.
Before beginning character creation, could you check if a name is in use by adding it to your friends list?
I’m not convinced any new weapons will be added. Maybe after elite specs grant every current weapon to every profession? Even then, they might be able to add off-hand use of a primary-hand weapon.
To my mind: Don’t get your hopes up.
Get the whip sword. Problem solved!
The first waypoint of each starter zone is available. Has he done all those, and all their next zones?
You can go back to any zone and have your level adjusted. If you’ve already cleared the hearts/100% finished a zone, you can still do events.
The only thing I’d want is to be able to see what skins are in use by a right-click on a toon, or somesuch. Sure, I could whisper them, but I’m more the sort who would just browse while waiting for an event or whatever.
Flowerpower.6795Why do they always come up with things that make playing the actual game pointless because you can skip big parts of the game.
I don’t see how your level makes a difference. You can still clear any zone, map the world, do events, do stories, whatever, at level 80. Sure, you may be a little over powered, but if anything you are more free to go where you wish and do what you wish. Just without having to upgrade your gear as you go along.
Fenom: Does Profane armor show in your wardrobe? If you see the whole set of Profane, then obviously you got the chest sent to you. If some random piece of Profane somehow dropped for you, then that’s another issue.
Khisanth.2948That has nothing to do with what the OP posted which is basically just a request for less clicking and also avoid being a nuisance to others while spamming tomes.
Read the post before mine. Suggested they be tradable. That’s what I was responding to.
WTB level 80.
No, I don’t see that as a good thing.
