Spirit rangers are so easy to kill just land a stun on them. I mean how hard can it be? Its not like they have 3-5 AI things circling and running around them as the dodge and cause blind (the sun spirit). Just make AIs not body block attacks the build would be way better. Also for everyone complaining the spirits die within seconds is lieing.
ps. The spirits follow you around so if they are dieing in aoes that means you are standing in them <3

That if the problem about Mace/shield + GS build is being unreadable because of mace, that is also my problem.
A little common sense is all it takes to read the mace stun is inc. I’m not going to respond to TheGuy. Seems he just loads his posts up full of rambling and nonsense and if anyone doesn’t feel like wading through the drivel and pointing out everything that is wrong, he automatically assumes he is right.
Look kid I get it. You don’t like the fact that your OP build is being pointed out as OP. You do not like the reasoning. This is no different than the quickness bull charge-> 100b complaint except if you miss the stun here you have quite a few defensive option a low CD on it and your is build tanky enough to wait on it. I get the new toy please do not break it argument, but there is no skill in playing this build. It is a stun lock cheese build that is getting the same defense every bullkitten no skill build has gotten in this game from the beginning. This is not new. The complaints will pile up. Eventually It will get nerfed.
It should be obvious to you all that once you see one build on one class start to dominate the meta that there is something wrong.
On another note exaggerating the abilities of other classes is not a defense. While I know the counters I know that just because there is a counter does not mean a build is not OP. You also all need to learn the difference between a stun break and stability. Also recognize that access to these skills often do not fit into most builds. The only class with strong access to both at the same time is actually warrior. recent changes to where the stun breaks are on other classes has actually buffed this build further.
Just because you want to have 3 damage utilities doesnt make this build op at all. This build is extremely predicable and the stuns are extremely easy to dodge. If you are having trouble you must not be that great at thief

Well my first I would say stop qqing on the forums and actually learn to play your class because rangers eat warriors alive. Second I would say run spirit ranger and laugh as all your ai companions get in the way of all the warriors attacks. Seriously though every time i try to land a cc the kittening spirits slow motion style jump in front of the ranger to take the stun.

Runes of the solider are a must. The abilitys on warhorn count as shouts and will remove condi and if you spec into shout heals they will heal you also.
Try to go for healing power and condi damage. So you can heal with shouts while doing condi damage. SO i would shamans

I don’t know what warriors your facing but warrs 1v1 are gods lol… mace shield /gs if your losing 1v1 with that regularly you have a problem… Of course mesmer troll 1v1 specs will win but other than that with good timing and speed you can overcome almost all classes. I kill most necros if I have berserker stance up easy.
They are 1v1 gods against bad players. A good player will dodge all of your stuns because they are so kittening easy to dodge lol.

Lol dude you clearly don’t know how to play warrior it is godam good now… The reason many teams have not incorporated it yet is because right now the meta is broken in terms of condis and people need time to play around with warrior to see how they can fit it in best because keep in mind after this patch they finally just became good. They are not going to take chances like that right before pax….. Try me anytime on warrior I will eat you alive (of course unless you would like to get on a 1v1 spec). Anet has chosen cc to be what warrs bring to table. Stop QQing and practice more simple as that.

Your right warriors bring cc to the table the problem with that is all the ccs are extremely easy to dodge and have massive tells. You can even actually predict when a warrior is going to use a cc because of how obvious it is. Its sad when the most effective race for a warrior is asura because their animations are much smaller and less noticeable. IF they smooth up the warriors animation their will be a perfect place for them in tpvp.

I think you’d be better off taking 10 points out of Death and putting them into Spite to get Chill of Death.
But like the previous poster said, this is basically just the Mr. Freeze build.
I originally had that and about 50% of the time it doesn’t go off.

^ The build
This necro is not played like the others. This necro is a tank and extremely hard to kill 1v1 and 1vX. You can face tank people. Unlike most necro builds this one is actually very hard to play correctly and has insane combos and synergy. But good thing all the old necros actually have skill. <3
Weapons and Why
Dagger- Good life steal good damage and probably most important IMMOBILIZE!!!
Focus- One of the most underrated necromancer weapons. This thing is amazing. Do you want to get a massive amount of regen and roughly 20 vulnerability stacks on a person? Focus 4 is amazing and is deadliest against a foe in melee range. (pst i already see a combo here with these two weapons) But wait the focus gets even better!! Focus 5 is a 3 boon purge (good bye warrior signet elite) and does decent damage but most importantly applies CHILLED but it has a long cast time so be smart when to use it.
Staff- Amazing helps so much with this build has a BLAST FINISHER and APPLIES CHILL IN AOE staff works extreamly well for this build and is worth greater marks.
The Utility Skills
Well of Blood- If you have seen the build link you will have noticed that this is a well build. This heal is amazing and with my cleric ammy you can get a full heal out of this spell as long as you stay within the well. This can be easily substituted for consume conditions if you are up against another condi class.
Spectral Armour- Stun breaker grants life force and protection (death shroud swapping is very important with this build) and its so “op” that team paradigam made a qq thread about it and necro DS. Can be swapped out for Well of power for some extra condi cleanse/
Well of Darkness- Amazing!!!!!! Super sexy its beautiful stay within it so many combos and thanks to your talent it CHILLS.
Well of Corruption- its Well of Darknesses super sexy twin sister
Summon Flesh Golem- 1v1s its a must to take and provides a CC known as LAUNCH and when somone is IMMOBILIZED LAUNCH acts like a long knock down. For tournys take Lich is extremely worth it for this build.
Oh did i mention that wells are all COMBO FIELDS!!!
Chill
Chill is by far the best condition in the game. A 66% movement speed reduction that stacks in duration and it has a 66% increase to skill cooldown (get it chill). This build when played right has 100% chill uptime. You focus applies chill, your well of darkness applies chill, your death shroud port applies chill your staff applies chill, your weapon swaps apply chill. Use it and abuse it. Anyone else seeing some synergy with chill movement speed reduction and wells?
Weaknesses =(
It is ironically weak to condis but you have the ability to swap utilities to make it stronger against condis.
Also its a tab bit weak against range but it you play well (lawl get it) range wont be a problem to you at all.
Strengths
everyone who trys to melee you will die horribly and kinda slowly depending on their builds but you will always be on top. Stun warriors will fear you, D/P thieves will cry and call you op, Eles will get kittened, Guards poor guards, mesmers will cry as their clones end up healing you, Rangers will be annoying and will occasionally beat you but that is because that class is amazing in pvp (and most rangers are awful and just qq on the forums)

Skill ideas for Greataxe:
Adrenaline Skill: Decapitate, does high damage, each bar makes the damage increase from Vulnerability for this skill 1.33>1.66>2X more effective (so if the target has 10 Vulnerability, when this skill hits it’s like having 13>16>20 Vulnerability)
Auto-attack chain Penetrating Chop: Does damage and causes 1 Vulnerability for 6 seconds. Penentrating Blow, same damage and causes another stack of Vulnerability for 6 seconds. Agonizing Chop: does more damage then the other 2 previous skills, and applies 2 vulnerability for 6 seconds
Skill 2, Executioner’s Strike: High burst damage skill, 10 second cool down
Skill 3, Charging Strike: Leap at your foes (600 range), with a powerful swing, gain 3 Might for 5 seconds if you hit, 12 second cool down.
Skill 4, Rending Sweep: Swing your Greataxe 360 degrees, causing 5 Vulnerability for 8 seconds, and doing high damage. 20 second cool down
Skill 5, Power Attack: Swing your Greataxe as hard as you can, doing damage and knocking foes down for 1 second. 30 second cool down
Cool downs and Vulnerability might have to be balanced, but I thought it would be cool if the weapon focused on taking advantage of Vulnerability
I like it a lot the vulnerability is very nice. It all works extremely well except for the number 2 skill. It should be a low damage but adds a huge amount of vulnerability. That way the weapon would flow a lot better. It would be all about build stacks then when the time was right unleashing your F1 for massive burst and consuming all the vulnerability stacks.

I made a gs/longbow condition build it is amazing currently and gets around 12-15 bleed stacks with rather high uptime. Am i going to post it on the forums? Nope I believe everyone should experiment and create their own builds. It helps the class progress.

TBH i occasionally do that for some might stacks then to combine it with signet elite then #5 on the longbow then bolas then rush/bulls charge and then destroy them.
ALSO many warriors do not know this because it never hits but rush does insanely good damage use it when your target is casting a long spell or using a heal that way if they dodge it interrupts what they are doing.

Defektive, honestly, how are Warrior’s now?
Like for example, in my experience, in MMO’s a bad stigma tends to become permanent.
So if a bad class is bad for long enough (like us Warriors) then we are doomed to be generally viewed as bad by the community as a whole even when we aren’t, if you get what I mean.Not saying that Warriors are bad right now, but after being weak for so long, I feel it’s going to be hard to shake off this bad vibe of the class.
Like right now, people must be losing matches, or 1v1’s and blame it on the class, rather than think what they could improve etc.
And kudos, watched your Thief 1v1 video, you make it look so easy man ^.^
Warriors now aren’t to bad now. Most people expect them to play like the other classes where you can have success by spamming your skills and not waiting for the correct timing windows to use them. Warriors how ever require you to constantly think and adapt to be successful. This why most of the community believes they are bad.

1. Good players will always dodge the shield stun and the mace stun they have very obvious animations and they are very easy to predict
2. Try dueling a sword pistol thief with that build and may god have mercy on your soul.

These are all really good ideas. Vampirisim really needs a a buff but i would say leave vampiric rituals grandmaster. That trait is extremely strong i would know i use it. Necromancers don’t really need vigor or stability or any of that. What they need is a buff to their LF generation. Instead of generating 2% make it somewhere between 4-7% life force per hit and give more weapon skills life force generation. Make it easier and faster to fill up your life pool.
I disagree with you about the stealth thing. Thieves are an extremely squishy class they need stealth in order to survive. Stealth should be more defensive like almost a fade out and dodge attacks instead of a extremely offensive ability.

Ok Defektive.7283, then answer me this. Since it is common in tPvP, you’re suggesting that the opportunity cost of focusing on the necro, as opposed to someone else on the team, or focusing on capping a point/other secondary objective is not great enough?
If so, then let me ask you this: if there was a different class that felt more threatening, would you perform the same maneuver on them instead?
What I’m seeing is – you’re establishing a threat according to your team comp, and focusing on that threat. If a necro didn’t threaten your team because of the comp that you’re running, would you still do that?
How is it not counter, when there is a specific condition that is necessary for the success of that strategy? Maybe I’m not understanding what you’re saying, but it sounds a lot like counter play to me.
You are incorrectly inferring that targets are placed based on their threat level.
Targets are generally chosen based on squishyness / ability to escape the damage train.
In the early game, capturing a point isn’t important, winning the first team fight is.
If you can eliminate key players, or even 1 player quickly enough, you have a fight in your advantage.Necromancers are PRIME targets, no matter their damage because of their complete inability to mitigate pressure or to tank it. Warriors unfortunately suffer from the same fate, we have no Z axis teleport or invulnerability unless we pop all of our utilities.
Early game:
1) Eliminate the easiest target from stealth.
2) Put the team fight in your advantage early on.
3) Switch targets to the most threatening in order to apply pressure and reduce their damage output.
4) Wipe out the remaining players
5) Capture the point.Who cares if you’re down 20-30 points in the early game if you can secure a 2 cap immediately after and hold it for 2-5 minutes.
There is no opportunity cost to doing this, only an advantage to gain if your team understands how to use stealth mechanics correctly and can point out a target who can’t avoid your damage.

With all that you’ve said (btw, really appreciate your objective feedback), do you agree that necros need something else to boost their survivability?
The most effective way to do this is simply increase the amount of life force generation on skills and add some life force generation on skills that currently do not have it. Instead of gaining 2% life force on hit why not 4%? Remove the Talent the grants life force when marks are triggered and make it like that normally. I would rather have more options to generate life force and those options to be better then having to wait around for stuff to die to build up life force.
In summery
1. Increase the amount of life force gained by skills that already give you life force instead of 2% 4-7% would be nice
2. Increase the amount of skills that generate life force
3. For the sake of balance and if enough life force gain on skills is added remove the “gain life force when something dies”

The issue has always been a burst that is not telegraphed. Every other class’s burst can be mitigated with certainty. The thief is just guess work and a gamble.

What? If you can’t see a telegraphed mind wrack there’s something wrong with you.
And an ele’s air rotation alone is hardly comparable spike compared to thief or warrior spike.
Ele spike requires an air rotation combined with arcane utility use and phoenix into a 45 sec cd firegrab.
Let’s give your thief burst skills 45 sec cd’s and the crappiest consistency ever (try to land fire grabs) and see how you get away with even comparing both.
The scepter ele’s burst also requires that the ele close in distance if he’s doing anything outside of the air rotation.
Ele spike outside scepter air attunement #2 is some of the most easily telegraphed burst in the game, with way higher cd’s than other classes and delievered piecemeal meaning you need to land several in a row instead of one big hit.
Scepter ele is only pushed to the top because he can bring competitive burst on top of his team utility. Key word being the team utility in form of CC and boon share and cleansing.
I’ll take D/P burst any day of the week over ele burst if we’re talking solely of burst and not of the toolkit.
I play an ele and a warrior and i have to say eles burst is a lot easier because of how all their skills chain up and the fact that their burst is a insta gib. Warriors burst is all about timing and playing defensive then striking at the right time.
That’s only an issue with the warrior’s problem of uptime. There’s no question that if the warrior does land an eviscerate or 100b, his burst will do a lot more than what the ele could, and he can do it much more often.
It also doesn’t help that Eviscerate doesn’t have good tracking like the new Flanking Strike.
My shaman amulet BM ranger doesn’t fear taking a full burst ele’s rotation. He does fear eating an eviscerate or 100b, let alone a full whirlwind followed by that. It just isn’t happening too often because of the stationary nature of that burst.
I have no doubt that if thieves were given more group/teamfight utility, and warriors had better sustain that they would be competing with scepter eles for the burst position.
Warriors and thieves are NOT lacking in damage. In fact, besides burst, they have the potential for much higher sustained damage if it wasn’t for the fact that they get pressured to retreat early in a fight.
Warriors do fine damage its just a lot hard to do your damage. All of your skill are insanely predicable and easy to dodge. With eles you can burst faster and way more effective with the use of lighting flash. With warriors people see the gs and the know you are going to be using 100blades. With warriors you need to use a set up.
like have the player waste both dodges blow all stunbreakers and time the skill right all while that said player is pressuring you and most likely using blind witch is the hard counter to warriors. Warriors are the only actually balanced class.

I kitten hate this. It’s kitten dota cmomunity sindrome all over again.
About 15sec into the game someone mentioned enemy team has 2 guards, and another team mate idiot told us we have 4 noobs. A few “omg noob” statements later someone else is ranting he killed 1 person in 2v1 and noone helped him. Ofcourse nothing indicated he needed help and he didn’t even say he heeded help.
Communicate with the team! A simple “help altar” or just “help” might take you a long way!
well i said 3 noobs and i was referring to you and the 2 kitten thiefs. we discussed our plan and you who was supposed to go mid followed me to home point and did nothing the entire game. Theirs a reason you and the 2 other players finished with under 50 points while me and he other actual good ranger finished with over a 100 points all you did was ignore team our team when we needed help on a point. all you did was running around and fighting people off points this isnt hot join. if you are going to fight off points at least get the kittening buffs!! 1. Remove all the breakable floor pieces around A and C
2. Make jump pads interactive skills instead of touching them and flying
3. Nerf cannons damage to maybe 6k make it dodgeable.

Instant kill mechanics would be fine IF AND ONLY IF they were extremely kittening hard to do/hit. Knocking someone off this map is extremely easy. Like today on my engi i would go to a point break the glass and use tool kit 5 magnet to pull them into the pit they would dodge so i would cancel the animation maybe shoot them a bit then bam pull them to their deaths. This map takes no skill.
It is extremely easy only if you are extremely bad.
You don’t need to be any uber-skillz-pro player to understand that when an hole in the floor is between you and an engineer it is probably time to change position or get ready to being pulled.
You are a kitten the map is removed go play it on hot join. This map takes no skill thats the reality. I’ll let you stay in your little dreamland were you are preforming some masterful feat when you knock someone off the map. Enjoy

burst would be d/p?
any decent pvp player can dodge basivenom/backstab in a 1on1 and when you need to 2on1 the engi we are in a bad spot (3vs4) on the rest of the map and will probably lose the teamfight there.
on top of that d/p needs to land that backstab and the engi got a blind bomb, a 7sec blind on FT#5 (instacast), this shield stun and so much area denial that it is pretty hard to be melee with him.
i say it again, to be great with the engi and pull all that stuff off it really takes practise and skill, much more than for example a s/d thief, but when you know your kittens then your are a freaking monster.

Yes and good thiefs can always land a backstab. When you are playing the super op engineer you will see first hand how well the do against a good thief on point. Engineers lost all their reliable stun breakers. I am getting really tired of people who have no clue about the class decide how to balance it. Also you do know engi was nerfed last patch right?

You should explain me why the ability of push off someone from a cliff makes this map skill-less.As far as I see, this map is just less forgiving against players who play bad.
This map is for gimmicks not fighting, pushing someone off a ledge is not skilled play its easy to do if they dont have stability its good game. However I dont really have issue with the maps layout. Killing people in 1 hit with a siege weapon is not skilled play.
WvW is already a game mode that already has siege covered, really really really really kittening covered. WvW players despise the power of siege like AC’s, zero reason to bring that kind of bullkitten into the PvP game mode.
If you want to feel good at the game by pressing one WvW is for you leave PvP alone.
I love you. The map design in very nice i like how it takes advantage of the Z axis. If they make it so you cannot be knocked off the map or at least removing all the glass panes from the map and nerfing the cannon and making it avoidable and reducing its aoe range it would be a very fun tourny map

It was probably removed because of the massive amount of QQ around that map.
ArenaNet doesn’t just put a map in the tPvP rotation when half of the community QQ about it.There is no skill cap no room for growth and tactics if something is already insta gib.
The map is terrible, we have plenty of this siege garbage in WvW already. Anet really needs to just kittening stop it and let PvP be the one kitten place in the game where players actually fight each other with their class.

Because you push one button and do it thats pretty much the skill cap. Growth for tactics? You mean everyone run a class with a lot of knock backs? The reason their was so much qq was because the map isnt balanced for tpvp.

The easiest way to kill an engineer is with a thief or ranger. Mesmers are pretty tricky too.

Its funny today on my engi i would go to a point step on the glass switch to tool kit and used my #5 skill magnet and pull people into the pit. This map requires no skill. If you think pressing 1 button and instantly killing someone requires skill you must be a hot join hero.
