No boons no food. No Sigents or Signet mastery. No dumb traits that gives more defense when your full health. No screenshots with me having full adrenaline. These are my stats just base stats nothing fantastic. NO ascended.

Those are nice stats though I fell with all that ascended items your attack power should be higher. Especially with zerker armor. Because I have no ascended items and I am using knights armor with only 10 points in strength and my unbuffed attack is higher.

I know right, that’s exactly why my screenshot includes the UID. And I also pointed out exactly which food buff I had going – 50 precision is pretty minuscule anyway. However people upgrade to ascended as they go, you can’t expect people to hang onto their old exotic gear just to compare to your weaker gear, though really the stat boosts are minuscule as well.

Also just look at his crit damage, 90% is crazy high.

Also I’ve just noticed that my health is different in the stats compared to what it is in the UID O.o

I have been knocked back when blocking, also when I’ve had stability. I do believe its just lag and according to the game you activated them a split second too late ( I only find it happens immediately after activating either.)

Sweet Revenge does not work and is a waste of a trait in which Signet Mastery is much more beneficial. In PvP I think it works well, but it’s rare to be downed long enough to Vengeance up, and people are smart enough to just run away and let you die. Honestly I’ve rallied from Vengeance more often since I got rid of Sweet Revenge, go figure.

LOL null field is incredible! Burst any bunker after dropping that and they’ll keel over… But yes their condition removal is almost as subpar as ours. But they excel in every single other aspect to the point that they are the most OP class. Only strong condition damage professions – Engie/necro/thieves have any chance at dropping an experienced Mesmer. It is their one and only weakness. Even then the Mesmer will still probably win.

Yea Guardian for sure. Warriors to Guardians are Heavies to Medics. Though general PvE is so easy you won’t even feel needed, Warriors can just faceroll everything. But in dungeons Guardian is much more preferred as Elementalists have to sacrifice a lot of damage to survive on the front lines, or being a staff healer standing off in the distance.

Well it’s assumed running that many Signets that you are using Deep Strike. So no I wouldn’t have figured you to drop any in case you lose 0.5% critical chance…
Don’t take it personally, Signet Warriors have long since been proved to be sub-par. So the stats are really irrelevant on a build doesn’t have half the capability of any other…

Seriously, enough with these suggestions. They’re just bad. On top of that you really think someone has enough strength to dual wield swords that are 2 – 3.2 kg and up to 180 cm long? That’s a 4.4 – 7lbs pound sword that’s taller than me! (up to 5 ft 10inch).
I don’t know about you, but I’d have enough trouble lifting one of those. Then you have to use it in armor which can weigh something like 100-300 lbs.

Give me a flail, a greataxe, or a halberd type weapon.

What is that? A Greatsword for ants!? Not to say I’ve ever held one before but that much steel has to be at least 10kg

Thank you Jzaku, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that after reading Ninetails comment. It simply must be an oblivious PvE comment. If you’re a warrior still using the Greatsword then the legitimacy of your post goes into the toilet. I think even at my skill level with warrior I could roflstomp you into the ground, duel me and let’s see how this is a l2p problem.

I don’t worry about kiting too much as a warrior with a range weapon. With heavy armor and the highest hps of all classes, I always go on the front lines throwing AOE’s.

If on the other hand you absolutely must run away when a huge zerg is approaching which happens quite often in Tier 1, haha, activate signet of rage, 33pct movement speed for a whopping 39 seconds. You can also blow this signet for kiting if you so prefer, 33pct movement speed for 39 seconds is a long kitten time.

You don’t have SoR going as soon as you can? O.o that baby’s going as soon as soon as the enemy draws their weapon…

If they are standing still, 3 sec immobilize, if they are running, knockdown and 4 sec immobilize.

Seconded, people are usually moving anyhow. But keep it 5.5 seconds immobilise (at least that’s what my tooltip says) people are so worried about making us OP.. we are UP, VERY UP, we need every edge we can get.

Whilst Cook is being modest, most people will crucify an all ranged Warrior. You CAN do it, and you can deal good damage whilst doing so, but it really isn’t what we are made for. I’m assuming were talking about PvE here so I’ll follow that context. The pure ranged players (staff Elementalist, ranger, Mesmer etc) bring a lot more to the table than just DPS, DPS which is comparable to a ranged Warrior.
For instance the Ele has strong healing potential, the ranger will out DPS yours in a heartbeat (though at the moment dungeons are very anti-pet) and the Mesmer has invaluable skills such as Portals and TimeWarp.

What Warriors absolutely excel at is melee damage. The best in the game. So it’s really wasted potential going all ranged on a Warrior.
But really it’s up to you, hang the rules and go full ranged Warrior if its what you want to do (actually happens in high level fractals where any sort of melee conflict with bosses is a big no no) but for the most part, a warrior with two ranged weapons will raise some eyebrows and you’ll suffer the wrath of elitists.

Also regarding your comment about condition damage. Never spec for condition damage (or healing power) our damage comes from power/precision/crit damage.

Aye Warrior potential is there. Hopefully improvements will come once they split WvW and PvE. Because any buff to Warrior for the sake of WvW will make us even more OP in PvE. And that’s exactly why we’re in our current state. As for PvP? Well it is separate so I don’t know why it hasn’t been fixed, perhaps the buff will hit WvW and PvP at the same time, I don’t know I’m being optimistic.
But really all we need is:
1. Make our attacks do what they are actually meant to do, as well as our gap closers either A ) immune to cripple/chill it B ) run their full distance regardless of cripple/chill
2. Make the +% Burst Damage trait +5% for each tier, 1% is a joke.
3. Give us self healing that is proportionate to our health. Watching your foe giving them self a full heal when you kitten well know they’re not in Healing Power gear is an insult. Shall I sacrifice the awesome ability of refilling my adrenalin so I can use our BEST heal that will give me a 3rd of my health back? Big whoopity doo. I’m better off getting a pathetic heal and trying to land another Burst Attack.
Lower the CD by 5 seconds and DOUBLE it’s potency, yes, DOUBLE. Warriors are clunky and generally predictable, we have few evades and usually have to eat a lot of hits on the journey to landing our own.

And to even suggest that you’re concerned about Warrior becoming OP while you’ve let Mesmer run rampant is a joke. Don’t even get me started on the neutering that profession needs.

Haha if I want to feel invincible I use my Ele. Half cleric/half PVT, things an absolute kitten to kill. Not to mention an actual escape skill for bloodthirsty zergs. But even so I got bored of roaming solo as I rarely encountered 1v1 and would get roflstomped by groups (would often start out as 2-3 then they call back up at the sight of a singular enemy, dat WubWub mentality, though I probably would have lost anyway assuming they weren’t uplevelled.)

And I agree with Albundy, simply BEING a guardian will cut out one third of their burst attack.

I actually don’t mind fighting Guards as a warrior. I mean they hit like wet noodles even when I’m a berserker. If they’re bad I can quickly burst them down before they heal, if they’re good I have ample time to just turn and run away as guardians cannot chase… I have nothing to lose.

I dismissed the 5 man team statement as you strongly pointed out Never leave the zerg, a simple communication error.

It is true that most people will fall to a multiple thief burst (an Ele could perhaps mist form and RTL away before too much damage is done.) But ultimately the point is whilst you are trying to get others to try your build, it is simply weaker in comparison to a Guardian or Ele. My warrior couldn’t dream of being the team player that my Ele is.

I would also argue that a singular thief could easily tear this build apart in a 1v1, the healing couldn’t dream of mitigating that much damage and the lack of offensive during the short bursts you have to attack would point all the more favour to the thief. By saying that thieves can’t kill you I’m still under the assumption that your team is fighting for you. Just take a look at tPvP, 5 man teams, not a singular warrior…

IMO opinion PvE is a brilliant introduction to the game. Dungeons need some tweaking here and there but overall good. However it is repetitive so people will turn to either WvW or PvP (or y’know, both.) This is where the problems start, whilst they aren’t “dead” they need some serious love or they shall be “dead” soon.

And by the gods yes, the singular FPS I have during zerg vs zerg is spent watching my skills refuse to activate before getting instantly defeated. Only looking back to the Combat Log to see that I was infact stationary for so long that multiple people were able to land melee hits on me.

Lets take a leaf out of the most OP profession’s book. Gain invulnerability while hacking and slashing away. “But no!” They say “It’ll be OP!” They say, yet it exists on a profession that can keep up a non stop assault with their F buttons alone…

Just drop the Greatsword seriously, after the frenzy nerf it lost its only use considering the current state of Rush.

The build is good for WvW, AoE boons/cleanses/heals (no overlapping regens) are a good way to keep the zerg train going. But that is all it is good for, and really, in large groups you could build yourself any which way and still come out the victor because as I’ve said before, numbers and using the OP’d classes will get you much further than skill. Yes there are situations where 5 pro ts3 users decked out in ascended/exotic gear can mop up 10 up levelled PuGers…. But we’re talking generalities here.

You CANNOT hide behind an army of teammates and call yourself valuable. Sure you can take a hit, funny enough so can my zerker we have that much health. But what do you do when you get ganked by a few thieves? You blow your defences and go running for your team so they can do everything for you that a warrior cannot do for itself… E.g give you a substantial heal/defencive boons/actually have enough DPS to kill the thieves before they pop stealth because you’ve rooted yours by being a ‘team player’.

However even this seems unlikely as you never leave the zerg right? Wubwub mentality makes me sick, zerging is the sole reason WvW is the failure that it is. How to counter this? I really have no idea. People will always follow the path of least resistance, for WvW, that is staying in a huge untouchable ball of players…

So… That’s a yes?

Greatsword is good for nubstomping. But if that’s what you wanted then you may as well roll a thief. Without ranged attack even slightly mediocre players can just kite you into the ground (I still get roflstomped by decent rangers/all ranged thieves despite having the rifle to fall back on.)

As far as PvP goes I’m still trialling out different builds so I’d be interested in seeing what it can do, if you’d care to duel at some point? Relax I’m no pro player, just looking to improve.

I make no claims to being particularly good. I win and I lose, but the typical rifle/gs combo is hilariously ineffective 1v1. I don’t actually run a longbow by the way (I run a hammer+sword/shield setup, my own build) but I do have a bit of time fighting with one as I like to pick off the scouts with my longbow before switching to my usual weapon set. If sPvP is what you’re talking about I generally run defektive’s hammer build as well.

All this being said, I have no qualms with taking a challenge. No hard feelings afterwards is my only requirement, and to give me a couple weeks (I work in third world countries, and my internet service is poor at best when I’m on the job as I am now).

You’re on! I’m only level 10 in PvP to give you an idea of what you’re dealing with. Though if it isn’t in the next few days it’ll have to wait a month for me to get back from overseas (seems to suit you as well) I’ll add you

I logged in and played some hot joins for the first time in about 3 months. Back then warrior was still the worst class but today……… after about 2 hrs of playing i literally was the ONLY WARRIOR in the servers i joined. Jesus, even back in Jan, there were still plenty of warriors even though we were bad, now there are none in spvp.

Still did fine in hot joins where the average skill level is pretty low, but wasn’t able to pub stomp as hard as before. Not even gonna bother in tournament, i know my warrior will get its kitten handed to it. sigh…….

This is what I’m finding… I’ll think I’m doing really well and be all “wow warriors aren’t that bad” then I’ll try tPvP and just the level of play and teamwork is such a huge step up. It really shows you how poorly a profession that relies on a couple of predictable attacks to dish out 90% of our damage with little to no self healing ability will fare…. I mean with my build just L2D Eviscerate/Killshot and you can just nibble me to death. Other classes just easily heal through the other attacks whereas I cannot heal at all (what it feels like.)

Knights with cleric gear? Yuuuuck.
Full DPS all the way. Warrior damage in PvE is OP considering our health pool and heavy armour, we can mince up the targets before needing to heal/taking any hits.

Dungeons are slightly different and advise you to stay out of AC until you’re level 80 and clad in exotics. I know it’s silly but even some parties of all 80’s have difficulty with this dungeon..

EDIT: Sorry I thought you meant explorable, I have no idea if Story Mode was altered but I don’t believe it was, just take at least one person who has finished it before and you should be okay (I’m about to log on for that matter if you’re interested.)

Just yea… Never put Healing Power or Condition Damage on a Warrior.

Warrior is useless in most guild bountys because the mobs NEVER STAND STILL.

I beg to differ for this guild bounty comment. Because I’m usually the one to survive and revive others during guild bounty event. As a warrior, you have a wide range of weapons at your disposal and you need to use this to your advantage. For guild bounty, or dungeons like fractals, just switch to rifle/bow and you can do great damage at range.

I know as a Warrior I can just go rifle/bow and dps from distance but is it possible and doable to melee dps in dungeons since thats what i like best?

Warriors should ALWAYS be in melee range. With the exception of higher level fractals and a few ‘ranged only’ bosses.

I’ve had people try to kite me with a rifle in WvW and honestly it’s laughable. I cover the distance easily, dodge cripple/volley if they fire it off before I get there and then they have to swap to melee once I get there or prepare to get their face bashed in. So they switch to their GS but they don’t have any control abilities so there’s nothing to set up their HB with. Of course I keep them good and crippled so they’re not running away…

WvW = the greater number wins and is so imbalanced you can’t survive outside a zerg as anything other than a thief/mes/bunker Ele. Basing your warrior opinion off WvW is invalid as its biggest weakness – lack of healing and survivability – is made up for by the fact that you’re in an ENORMOUS group of people.

And as Albundy said, being an immobilise machine for your group/zerg is just the lowest style of play. Warriors that call themselves valuable because they lock down people for their team. Get people in 1v1 and let’s see how valuable it really is.

Balanced Spec, only showing Food Buff (+50 precision) at the moment. (FGJ, SoR for permanent Fury, Banner of Discipline, Heightened Focus Trait, Superior Sigil of Accuracy on Shield – 89%/94% crit chance.)

Edit: Banner Healing wrecks my damage, but hey, each to their own

Because our best heal gives us a 3rd (at most) of our health back on an ungodly long cooldown. Other sources of healing just do more harm than good – banner regen is a joke, shout healing renders our utilities useless. If you have ever lost to a shout healing warrior then you are a terrible player :]

Giving us high base HP was a good way to go, it helps us with this DPS race that the Warrior is all about. But our healing skills weren’t scaled to match (not to mention they are terrible even if given to another profession.)

^ Then it’s good training for PvP. Combo up some CC and Immobilise with some gap closers to maximise bursts. Though PvE mobs have much higher health than PvP opponents….

All for the blowout effect. One does not simply get up after being drop kicked by a warrior. An Elementalist’s pansy little kick flip leaves you on the ground for two seconds…

The amount of all melee Warriors I’ve kited to death (as a warrior myself) is too kitten high. The damage difference between ranged and melee really isn’t that substantial considering you can keep ranged damage up 100% of the time. I know I’m in for a free kill if I see a Warrior come at me with a GS…

That said, the longbow 5 skill is the only good thing about the bow, the AoE is stupidly slow and easily dodged. Rifle #2 for immobilise, #3 for strong damage that lasts longer than a dodge roll, #5 sends people absolutely flying, great for capping points/protecting downed teammates. Not to mention the mother of all ranged DPS, Killshot.
