If I had 1 million gold I would log into my asura and stand near the mystic toilet and sing “golden ticket” and the “I want it now” song from the original Willy Wonka as I randomly mailed free gold to anyone I could see lol.
If you are focusing on leveling your character as fast as possible you’re running the whole experience of the best thing about this game. The DE are the best feature and I believe leveling to max is already to fast in this game. Take your time when leveling and just play the game and focus on the fun not the xp bar.
Simple solution only pug if you start the dungeon then you can do the kicking :-)
I was wondering if the Super Adventure Box was the only update we are going to get for April. Don’t get me wrong I love that box, yet I would feel a bit cheated of monthly content if that was it, considering that that magical box will be gone come May.
The game has plenty of content. The amount of content should be the last thing Anet is working on. Much more important things deserve their attention like rangers and engineers.
It would be pretty epic if a A.R.E.N.A. commando jumped out of a chopper and threw you a thumbs up at level 80 though, just sayin.
I have 4 level 80’s and had a blast leveling each one. The leveling experience in this game is the best of ANY mmo. Now if my ranger pet was kidnapped by Asurans who did terrible experiments to it which caused Sarah Mchlachlan to cry and I never had to use the ranger pet again that would have made leveling my ranger to 80 the best of them all but that didn’t happen.
I have MANY criticisms of this game and Anet but seriously. Did you expect fireworks to go off in divity’s reach?
You should just be proud of hitting 80. That is an accomplishment in any game.
2. No one should see your account name until you add them to friends. They party userface kind creeps me out.
3. When someone wants to add you to friends, IT SHOULD ASK YOUR PERMISSION before they are allowed to see your account name and every toon you log on.
I use my friends list to catch botters. If I see someone acting suspiciously I add them to friends list and if they start teleporting to nearby nodes I find their name on my friends list and report them. If these changes would be made catching botters would be so much harder.
This is so bizarre on so many levels. I don’t even think Cartman would do this if he played an mmo.
Oh and those accounts you are reporting are the only thing keeping things on the TP at a reasonable level. Bots are horrible but Anet should police it’s own game and not make it the responsibility of the players.
“keeping on a reasonable level” and preventing you from making money by selling those materials that you have gathered, yeah.
Though I do agree with your second statement. I feel as if the forum is over moderated and the game is under moderated, if we moved like 3/5ths of the moderators from the forum to the game so much more botters would get banned.
If only and it’s sad they don’t just ban any ip that is reported or seen to be botting. I think you have a lot of wisdom about mmos especially this one and could be having more fun and helping other players a lot more if Anet really cracked down on the bots.
It’s nice that you have passion about this game and it’s very admirable but it’s sad that the bots have been so bad you felt like you needed to do that to help.

The only people who are going to read all of those for each person is going to be suffering from a severe case of OCD. What happened to wins/kills in wvw and spvp and that being the most important 2?
And fashion one sec let me catch my breath from laughing.
Make it possible and viable to be something other than dps? Stop nerfing every class except warrior with most patches? Got rid of the useless hunter pets.
Balancing spvp, pve and wvw the same is a major issue but not sure if any of the balancing devs play the game or this would be obvious.
This game isnt for me because the “community” it caters for isn’t for me. I have been told:
If I don’t like SAB or its 8 bit graphics, I am
- self centered
- not part of the time poor cash rich majority demographic of GW2 who are 25-45 living in developed countries
- I hate GW2If I don’t like new AC, I am:
- a bad/nub playerPro-tip: the best way to enjoy the game is to ignore the self-proclaimed “community” and play the way you enjoy. Don’t let anyone else tell you what YOUR Guild Wars 2 experience should be.
P.S. I don’t care for SAB either. I also have zero desire to get ascended gear, play fractals (though I have to admit, the one where you become a dolphin was pretty fun) or get a legendary weapon. Guess I’m a noob. But at least I’m a happy noob.
Maybe you’re both just highly intelligent and want to have fun playing the content you like and don’t have an mmo or gambling addiction? Addicts tend to be VERY defensive of the things they are addicted to :-)
I’ve bought this game a few months ago, and every time I sit down to play, I can’t get into it. I don’t understand the draw to the game. I aimlessly walk around the starter area and do the heart activities and the events and I gain levels apparently, but I’m just not having any fun. I also have no clue why I need to progress further.
The combat seems frustrating and hard at times, as if the challenges being presented to you are not possible with your current character. The very odd difficulty spikes make little sense. It jumps around like crazy.
I guess I haven’t been a huge fan of MMORPGs in the first place, but GW2 was supposed to be something different, and it honestly isn’t. Yes, you don’t talk to quest givers anymore, and yes there seems to be less busy work to do, but I still think it’s basically the same thing as before.
What is the draw to this game? Why play it?
Play a Mesmer and use staff with some condition damage gems in your gear and you can face roll most of the content. Join a guild and make friends. I would suggest a large wvw guild because most of the pve players like myself are more hardcore and burn thru the content faster than wvw focused players. Wvw and spvp are where this game shines.
Avoid the bad dungeons with bad loot and bad design as well as the engineer, ranger and necro classes. Ranger is fun in wvw but it’s not worth leveling with the broken pet AI ATM.
Mesmer, elementalist with d/d and warrior will reward you the most in the game. Warrior is the least fun IMO.
Remember ranged combat is your friend in this game. Stay ranged :-)
Games are only as fun as you make them and mmos are only as great as the people you play them with.
Also this game has the worst rewards of any mmo I have played so if you are playing for loot you will probably be disappointed.
Guild Wars 2 has a better and nicer community and is like a living painting.
Wow has:
1. Better combat system and classes that can be something besides dps.
2. Doesn’t have patches that continue to buff the strongest classes while nerfing the weakest so the devs can think they have pvp balanced.
3. Better loot and I’ve never killed 6 things in a row in Wow with no drop like has happened to me playing GW2.
4. The game is focused on being fun and not focused on the economy and gem store.
5. Blizzard actually tests things yes it’s shocking.
6. Dungeons are a lot more fun in wow and you actually get decent rewards for doing them.
7. Wow can be played the way you want and you don’t have to feel paranoid about hitting DR when you farm mats to craft.
8. Small and large guilds are both able to do ALL of the game content and small guilds aren’t punished for being small.
9. Mounts.
10. All my friends quit playing GW2 but my friends that played WOW are still playing it.
@Rizzy
ESO probably has a lot of potential, but all MMOs launch with bugs and lack of content. Every single one. At around the time that launches, Guild Wars 2 will be getting its act together. You can bet that a lot of people will try it, but I’m not convinced it will retain a lot of people.
It might…but it’s by no means a sure thing. The surest thing about a new MMO is that it will be buggy as hell, and it will not have enough content for the content locusts.
This is true but its been 7 months.
7 month is NOTHING to an MMO. It’s the bottom of the line time wise. Most MMOs today are forced to release six months early. They spend the first half a year catching up. This is what the game should have been on release.
It really does take a year or two before MMOs find themselves. And this is true of almost all of them. There has to be enough there to hold people till that happpens. Rift did it. And theyr’e doing okay.
In another year, this game will rock, but now…it’s just in it’s growing stage. It’s pretty typical.
Its been in development since the release of GW:EN, in 2007
Thats a long time for development.7 months after release is a long time.
This game needs to start showing more polished features soon before more players start leaving.JQ’s Malchor leap might as well be Undead territory since no one clears any of the outposts other than those needed to get to the temples, a stark contrast to when the game was new and players controlled all the contested WPs.
7 months after release is a long time by who’s standards? Most MMOs are forced to released early, because of financial pressure. The cost is just too much to bear without getting anything back to pay staff. Other MMOs launch early for strategic reasons. I firmly believe this game launched to beat out MoP, figuring there would be a lot more sales if WoW didn’t already have a bunch of people hooked on their new expansion. They were probably right, too.
So if they launched early, the first six months are playing catchup. Stuff like WvW culling issues and guesting didn’t launch until many months after launch. There are still features it was supposed to launch with that aren’t in the game, including the shooting gallery and the barroom brawl.
Development takes time. To you seven months is a long time, to a programmer, not so much. What I try to do is to compare MMOs to other MMOs, as far as development goes.
So much time in the first months goes to fixing unexpected bugs, and finishing up the stuff that should have been released, but never made it in.
Rift had the best MMO launch I’d ever seen (except for the security/hacking problem they had) but the world was really really small. There wasn’t that much to do. So they made a tiny game but it was highly polished. As soon as it launched and they started changing stuff, the bugs started creeping in.
Guild Wars 2 launched with a massive world, lots of stuff to do, but more bugs than anyone could reasonably expect in any game (except maybe a Bethesda game which is in a class of its own as bugs go).
In the end, saying 7 months is a long time is a relative statement. For playing, sure. For programming, not so much.
Nobody does bugs like Bethesda (fallout 3 new Vegas) anyone?
But even with all the bugs ESO I bet ends up being much more fun as far as combat and builds and what you can do than this game and probably won’t have DR.
Yes it’s doing well and is a beautiful game that’s designed very bad. Once you get past the beauty and see how shallow the game really it’s just like any other game based on gambling.
So is every other mmorpg that has ever been made. If RNG is your problem you should give up on online games because they all have some type of RNG to them.
Every other mmo doesn’t do what Anet has done to loot in this game and anyone who played this in beta til now knows loot in this game has been nerfed into the ground.
The secret world is horrible. Tried it and deleted it from my hd after playing it for an hour lol.
Would you apply this to anything else? Would you say Guild Wars 1 was named as such even though the fact is that many devs and designers had a part in World of Warcraft? They build up their name, they realized something worked and they continued on with it. This is a huge practice among publishers and develpers. often times publishers who even hear a dev mention “new idea” instantly dismiss it. Because they know what has sold is what should sell. Is this always true or good? Nope. It’s a great idea to step away from the norm and be different. Look at portal and some other niche type games. Look at it on paper and tell me that it sounded like a good idea. These people didn’t just profit, they excelled at what they had done. Plenty of other examples: Minecraft, the original Final Fantasy series, and so many more I’d actually have to look up. They (Arenanet) took a safe route but at the same time they learned from mistakes and fixed those. Then added their own finesse to the game and style.
Except that GW1 was a success and it was different. GW2 is just a really bad WoW clone with a couple new twists and really inferior content. Sadly, they took a step backwards, not forward.
This is far from a wow clone. That game has better dungeons, combat system and you actually get rewarded for playing and you can farm :-). Don’t insult Wow by comparing this game to it.
I believe GW2 would be doing even better if more people could actually run the game.
If you don’t have a high end processor that is super OCed the game just doesn’t run that great.
The game is a piece of art visually and it makes my friends iMac overheat and puts a strain on my MacBook pro but my mother’s dell run’s it very well but does get hot to the touch playing it.
They will optimize the engine in time but you will need a computer that can run this game if you plan on playing future mmos.
Why should players be punished for something a gold seller is doing? If this is the reason that shouldn’t be the players problem.
What’s your suggestion of a workaround, given the circumstances?
I don’t get paid to police this or any other game so solutions for dev issues isn’t my problem nor should they be any other customer/players problem.
Your missing his point all together. Your just whining and complaining without anything useful or resourceful to say. Small guilds are complaining sure but how useful was the vault transport in the first place? Far as I am concerned as a GM I never actually used one cause I never saw the need for one. Such as my personal bank golem I never them either cause there isn’t much need for them considering you can access your bank anywhere as is.
Only one I wish I could afford is permanent merchant express due to the constant need to sell stuff while in a dungeon or field. Like someone else said earlier Anet must have had its legitimate reasons for performing this increase in the price. There was an exploit that people were using that may have been a big issue. You keep saying that it hurts the smaller guilds more when it could actually effect the larger guilds as well. By making it cost merits it prevents certain large guilds from making huge quantities of it. Maybe the exploit occurs when a guild has a built a large number of them. This would explain the drastic increase of cost cause its the only way to fix guilds from buying so many.
There is usually more then one reason for an exploit it is not always from gold farmers. We do not know the circumstances surrounding the issue at hand and even if they did tell us. Only a small fraction (less than 1% of the entire community) would be able to figure out what it means due to coding tech.
I like to point out what should be obvious unless you have a tinfoil hat on.
Why should players be punished for something a gold seller is doing? If this is the reason that shouldn’t be the players problem.
What’s your suggestion of a workaround, given the circumstances?
I wouldn’t run a F2P game that depended on gambling for revenue. If I wanted to make money from gambling I’d work at a casino. When mmos get into gambling then it seems issues like this become a problem for them that isn’t as big of an issue in a game with a sub.
Why should players be punished for something a gold seller is doing? If this is the reason that shouldn’t be the players problem.

Maybe the added RNG to getting that chest or you can only get it once a day or something lolz.
Every class is powerful compared to rangers and engineers. :-(
Yes it’s doing well and is a beautiful game that’s designed very bad. Once you get past the beauty and see how shallow the game really it’s just like any other game based on gambling.
It was fun for about 5 months.
That word used to describe something almost always means another bad design by the devs so let’s take it away or we need more people to buy more gems.
This game should be called Gem it to Win it :-)
Not only do I feel sorry for new guilds but I feel the most sorry for new players just starting out. Things were so much better and more fun when this game started.
The launch was great and the game was great at launch and up till November. It’s almost a completely different game now.
Your right i remember all the bugged skill points when the game first came out and they fixed them. It was a great game when it was first launched now its even better.
Oh you must mean how the ranger pet is fixed right?
The launch was great and the game was great at launch and up till November. It’s almost a completely different game now.
The classes aren’t boring IMO but the loot, combat system, dungeons, class imbalance, gambling, DR are extremely unrewarding which makes the game boring.
IMO, GW2 will forever be know as the king of RNGMMOs. In few years time, people will recall this being a great game but sadly centred on luck/RNG.
Mark my words ANet.
Not even close. The RNG in this game is 100% for aesthetics. Play another MMORPG, and the RNG applies to better gear as well with no alternate method of obtainment… other than shelling out huge sums of money. That along with aesthetics too.
Wow doesn’t sell gear for money. The players actually earn it.
This game is more of a slot machine/casino than an mmo. Hopefully soon there will be legislation passed preventing games that incorporate gambling into their games that allow people under 18 to play it.
There’s no telling how many kids are developing a gambling addiction from playing this.
If I was a parent there’s no way my child or teen would be playing this.
I feel this game has the worst reward system of any mmo so I no longer play it but I browse the forums from time to time to see what has changed.
I think about 50% of each patch is focused on fixing things but I don’t think anything can really be fixed until they can balance pve separately from spvp.
I bet most of the content in these patches has been developed for months so they are stuck with what they have until they are done rolling it out.
Vayne why should you even explain how you spend your time?
same logic can be applied to them, if they are here to complain in the forum what they are complaining about since they are not playing the game?
they trolled you because you like the game and you dare not to find the ranger profession useless while playing the best class in every mmo in the world that is the mesmer. if they like the mesmer so much they should play one (i would like see them leveling it properly with no crafting, learning the skills and the timing and just laugh once they discover that is not an easy class to play as they claim especially when they are stomped in wvw) and start to enjoy the game too or a warrior for that matters (i could die of boredom playing a warrior).that said i love fotm too, while i generally avoid other dungeons unless i can run it with my guild with no elitism over classes or gears. once i have my gift of zhaitan i’ll probably won’t bother anymore with dungeons ever!
i agree that living story was slow paced but i liked the new istances very much and you don’t even need to be in a party of 5 to run them, it was refreshing and fun.
i wait to see more… am i waiting too much? maybe but who cares? i can do something else in the meanwhileActually, I was responding, because I had said people who are enjoying the game don’t spend time complaining about it…and they wanted to know why I wasn’t playing. I felt it was a reasonable question, so I answered it.
You’re right, of course, No one knows anyone’s personal circumstances, but they judge anyway. But I wouldn’t say I was being trolled.
I actually believe the OP has his heart in the right place. I believe he cares about the game. And he’s not “wrong” in what he says. He’s simply asking for something that’s going to take time to deliver. That’s the nature of MMOs. It’s a time game.
I’ve said all along that this game released early because they had to be MoP to market. They paid a price for that. Because the game really should have been released around January, with some of the features it was supposed to have already in it.
For one thing, if ascended gear had been in at launch, no one would have said two words about it. Only because it was added, and how it was added was it a problem.
In the end, the game will grow and mature. It’ll have a decent sized player base. Some people will come back to try it, some won’t. But it’s not going anywhere.
Programming content takes time, a lot of time. Guild Wars 1 had significantly less content at launch, didn’t have nearly as much content patches as GW 2 and it’s been around for seven years.
And it also had tons of complaints about balance. People just don’t remember.
As for the person who brought up World of Tanks, it might be an MMO, but it’s not an MMORPG. It’s a completely different thing. I should have specified MMORPG, but I figured most of the people here would have understood.
I think we need to stick to the topic and not insinuate what anyone postings motives are. Just because I don’t always agree with Vayne doesn’t mean I don’t find his opinion just as valid as anyone else’s
I think the critics and fanbois both want this game to be the best game it can be.
World of tanks is balanced and yes it’s an mmo. See you didn’t have to wait that long and if this game is so much fun to play why are you on the forums and not playing it?
Let me try:
GW2 is undoubtably the best MMO ever, Anet is so generous in giving out free content, the updates are nice. But I feel it is more important to rebut whiners and critics on the forums than it is to have fun playing GW2 itself.
I agree and I can’t think of a better way to spend my time then whining about whiners on a forum.
With regard to rangers and balance, I have a ranger in my guild. He played for a month at launch, left for a period of months and came back recently. His ranger is level 80.
He’s beaten some dungeons, including Arah path 1. He’s up to level 19 fractals now. He doesn’t think the ranger is so underpowered…why? Because he doesn’t read forums. He’s playing the game, and he’s happy as a clam with his ranger.
When I told him a lot of people see rangers as a waste and no one wants to take them into dungeons, he was like really? It doesn’t bother him, because he’s playing the game.
Seems to me the more you focus on the stupidity of elitists, the more unhappy you’ll be.
So you seem to be focusing on the playtime of what would appear to be a very casual player as the standard for all rangers. If he’s cool with it, everyone else must be right?
Ok..done discussing with you then.
I’m saying if you play the game, and stop listening to whining, you might enjoy the game. I’m saying it’s possible. Since this guy HAS finished hard content and has done well as a ranger and everyone likes him in a party in my guild, then there’s no way you can say a ranger can’t do these things.
I’m not saying the profession is perfect. I’m not saying it doesn’t have challenges. I’m saying it’s being blown WAY out of proportion. The biggest problem with a ranger is pugging dungeons. Because you can go into WvW and joikittenerg, or follow a commander and do just fine.
Actually I’ve played a ranger and the biggest problem is their pet dies in 3 seconds in a dungeon and the various builds are absolutely pointless. It’s berserker gear and max dps or no loot for you just like every other class in this game.
I wonder how many times these types of posts are made per day.
Does that make them any less valid? Or do you comment with genuine curiosity and agreement with the points made?
Yes, it does make them less valid. Every game that exists and has players get similar posts. The more players, the more complaints.
Well its easy to generalise without identifying specific points. So forgive me if I disagree. It wasn’t a whine post..it was pretty clear that there are legitimate issues with the game. But feel free to be an Ostrich
Disagreeing that your post has merit does not make one an Ostrich.
Virtually everyone who complains feels that THEIR post is “legitimate” and “not a whine” post. Yet the vast majority are. So feeling that way is silly. I liked the update. I felt it was fun and substantial. If you don’t feel the game has been added to a great deal in the last few months, I have no idea what game you are playing, frankly.
Well..“frankly” you’re obviously playing a different one from the rest of us. I would assume you are a lone ranger in the game. Have you talked to other players? I don’t know what server you are on, but on mine, sea of Sorrows, most people I talk to or listen to in general chat or Guild chat or random pugs are UNDERWHELMED.
I’ve never understood why some people take legitimate constructive criticism of the game as a personal attack. If you are personally happy with the current level of updates , then great. But I think you are in the minority imo.
Strange, my server is largely positive about the changes…in map chat anyway. Of course, it’s usually natural for unhappy people to vent and happy people to play anyway. The question is how many people happily playing stop in map chat to say, hey, I’m happily playing.
Most people who stop to say something in map chat are venting. So it’s not a great barometer of how well a patch does.
I thought the patch was fine. Not awe-inspiring by any means, but it was fine for a free content patch. Very few MMOs come out with as much stuff as GW 2 as often and many who try do a much worse job than this.
Try comparing what SWToR did as updates in the first six months, or Rift. Then you can complain. Until then, you’re just asking for something unreasonable.
Ok..irrespective on “content”..how do you feel they have performed regarding profession balance? What profession is your main toon?
I’m not tremendously stressed about profession balance, and you know, most players aren’t. The only real issue is that if you’re not in a guild, and you play a ranger, necro or engie, you might have trouble getting into pugs.
But I play in a guild. I have one of each professions. I’ve done dungeons with my engie and ranger, even a couple of with my necro. Mostly I use my mesmer though.
In the open world, I have no problem with any profession. Engies with the bomb kit, for example, are great for farming. My ranger is pretty kitten survivable in the open world. Engineers and rangers both have some place in PvP as well, as do necros.
So the real thing here we’re talking about is dungeons. That’s it…dungeons. And since my guild has beaten every dungeon with every professions (one of the guys who has the dungeon master title in my guild is a necro), I don’t really see the same problem some of you do.
If you’re playing a profession and having trouble getting into dungeon pugs, join a guild that doesn’t worry about running a dungeon five minutes faster. You’ll be much happier.
I have to agree with you. PvPers, the ones stressed over profession balance, have all but left so it’s true that very few of the remaining population would be concerned about it.
I defy you to find a single MMO that has PvP in it, that doesn’t have a forum full of PvPers whining about balance. Just find one.
The fact is, I’ve yet to play ANY MMO at any stage of development where the PvP fan base said, yep, we’re balanced, it’s all good now.
You’ll never see it because a lot of PvPers care only about their character and not about the game’s overall health. To them, things would be more balanced if they were more powerful than other professions. Without the data, it’s hard to know, but again, you find me one MMO that is balanced according to the PvP crowd.
I’ll wait here.
World of tanks is balanced and yes it’s an mmo. See you didn’t have to wait that long and if this game is so much fun to play why are you on the forums and not playing it?
These are cosmetic so if a player can’t afford these with gold farmed in the game then you need to buy them with gems converted to gold. This is a business and Anet has to make money and I believe should from cosmetic things.
It’s to bad these weren’t placed in the gem store to generate revenue from the start of the game.
Roll a warrior, only use berserker’s gear and have fun.
I have a berserker warrior and I don’t find it fun. What am I doing wrong? lol
Oh you must have a Mesmer and or gaurdian in berserker gear then or if you play another class you must be support which means even less loot and not run very many dungeons.
Roll a warrior, only use berserker’s gear and have fun.
There is a trinity it’s Mesmer, gaurdian warrior :-).
Ppl who dont farm allegedly doesnt care if someone does so why is problem if we could get same amount g/m from arah like we get from CoF? For me the enjoyment is in creating my character make him look as much powerful as i can……is it really that horrible? I mean i dont care if you like jumping puzzles and meaningles zergs in WvW thats your business but i dont get why ppl act like if i like farm and having option to get things faster then…lets say someone who plays less then me iam some kind of horrible person who ruins GW2 and needs to GTFO….
You’re not a bad person…but you are playing a game designed around a different sensibility. Some of the things you’re asking for, Anet has already addressed in things they’ve said. You might not follow the game that closely and might not know it.
For example. in Guild Wars 1 there were certain bosses who only dropped certain things. And some people would farm them. Anet said prior to release they didn’t want to do that, they didn’t want people to have to wait for a drop, killing the same thing over and over again. Some of us understand this, and some of us don’t. Asking the game to change in such a way that is against the design is part of the problem we already see, with fractals and ascended gear.
The people who ask for this stuff ended up getting a compromise from the dev. It caused a whole lot of people to leave the game. Why? Because Anet has laid out the game to us one way and you want it a different way. But we’ve been following the game for years.
I understand why Anet made the compromise they did. I don’t love it, but I understand it. But different games are designed for different reasons and you’re missing the points behind the design decisions in this one.
It’s like if I’m a baseball fan and you like basketball because it’s faster, so you ask the major leagues to change the game and make it so baseball isn’t so slow.
The very nature of this game isn’t supposed to be one giant loot grab. That’s why some farmers complain endlessly about DR and players like me (and most other players) don’t.
Because most of those who don’t complain have never hit DR. DR comes from people wanting to farm the same stuff over and over again, to get rich. To get something specifically.
The term long term goal bothers people like that. Taking their time. Enjoying the game. Playing in a beautiful world.
No, you’re not a bad guy. But this game was designed by devs who expressed certain design paths and every time they deviate from it, they lose some very loyal players.
Two weeks after they make the changes you want, you’ll want more changes and eventually this game will become a different game and the die hard fans will end up leaving.
There are plenty of games for you. There aren’t so many for us.
If they didn’t want people farming and grinding for a specific thing then why did they create charged loadstones and why would someone need 250 of an item for a gift.
Any player that wants a legendary will hit DR at some point and will have to farm and grind for it. This game is just as grindy if not more than any other mmo.
Also people are leaving the game because of bad decisions the devs have made and continue to make and those decisions are not caused by players they are caused by Anet wanting to make $$.

how to you earn 1g every half an hour in ssc? i’ve just hit 80 and am begging my legendary and would like to know your secret!
If you want to make gold level artifice and weapon smithing. I could make from 6 to 8 gold from one exotic apothecary staff. Not sure what they go for now since not playing but crafting makes $$
So sell the ones you get from the laurel vendor. No one will know that you are passing along nerfed dyes.
Nerfed dyes. jeez.
+1. This is the correct suggestion.
Secretly shunt these nerfed dyes to others on the trading post, and then buy the un-nerfed ones. No one will be the wiser.
You might take a 15% loss, but it’ll be great because you’re getting the good unidentified dyes.
Yikes.
You seriously don’t think just because something is labelled unidentified that it isn’t already locked into a color or a group of colors? Anything is possible and I bet Anet controls drops completely and all the label RNG makes me lol.
They control when and how much every item drops in this game and I bet there’s nothing random about it.
Because character bound = grind and grind = longevity in an mmo.
I visited said island about once a week.
It’s the best place to get the vials of potent blood and only place to get karka shells.
The mobs are ridiculous until you learn how to face roll them. As soon as the karka start to shoot at you interrupt or better reflect the damage and they are toast. Reflecting their projectile does sometimes over half their health in damage. Ele use staff earth 3 to reflect or interrupt with air 3. Mesmers use feedback on the projectile and hunters just faceroll.
Reasons IMO:
1. Bad class imbalance. Balance of spvp and pve should b separate.
2. Condition damage is a useless stat in the state it’s in.
3. All content is a dps Zerg berserker gear only zergfest.
4. Boring combat system with supposedly bugged traits in some classes.
5. Wvw is totally pointless. You pay for repairs but are mostly getting a grey item toenail as loot or a few copper. The server that has the most players in the map always wins.
6. The dungeons are absolutely pointless and the bosses can 1 shot you and since the game uses a really bad combat system it makes the dungeons even more unfun. Sorry trinity is a much better system. Trinity is actually using a team of players where all members are important. Once you learned how to run past the trash in dungeons you could farm them and get tokens and almost always bad loot from them. Dungeon rewards are horrible.
7. No dungeon finder. Yes there is Lfg but it’s not ideal and every mmo should have the same features that other more successful game has on release.
8. The cash shop is horrible and there is nothing in it most players want. If the gems are what bring in the game’s revenue put the BEST and coolest cosmetic items in the shop. If players don’t like that then they should pay a sub. Sorry nothing in life is free.
9. The game’s rewards are horrible and make the replay of the content pointless. Why level an alt for no rewards (games combat system is bad so the cause it’s fun excuse doesn’t fix that for most players).
10. DR and the worst RNG. This game is basically a casino without slot machines or blackjack tables.
11. Until recently there was no reason to be in a guild and now the only reason is to do the guild missions and join a big guild. Anet offered nothing for small guilds. Main reason why my guild left the game.
12. The game community and forums are moderated very strictly but when many threads ask questions they mostly go unanswered.
13. Nerfs nerfs nerfs nerfs to loot and classes while buffing content.
14. Anet doesn’t use it’s own forum as the first place for news about the game.
15. End game is non existent and you can try to get a precursor for a legendary but the legendary requires gifts and those gifts require farming and grinding but they nerfed all the world drops so badly that by the time you might get something besides a porous bone you’ve been tagged by DR.
And the list goes on and on.

ATM in this game you should always use berserker gear. Loot is based on damage and I have read that magic find gear is worthless and I tend to agree with that. Just use berserker gear and magic find food.
That isn’t the best idea for high fractals or PvP… for easy mode dung’s and open world PvE yes though ^^
From what I have read there is no point in running the high level fractals because of the loot nerfs but I could be wrong since I won’t grind in this game to get to them.
Also with the class balances as they are it’s pointless to level or play anything besides a Mesmer, warrior or gaurdian if you are concerned with loot and the ability to pug.
The recent nerf to the world boss loot is another reason there’s no point in anything but playing glass cannon.
Pvp you should just role a Mesmer, Ele or thief.
