No Mesmer esp the condi kind is a bad match up for druid, a good one will block your bursts ranger as a class only has burst and condi rangers aren’t that good sense Mesmer will either send it back to you or just cleanse of your pet or roots, and any decent Mesmers will wear you down, often times you’ll get moa’d before you can cleanse, in pvp they can effectively press you off point, but it’s alot more manageable in wvw kitten is broke

the most you can hope for against a condi one is that they are vipers, so you can burst easily,
second bring all the cleanses you possibly can,
thirdly its more of a look at your buff bar and rotate your cleanses.
Finally look for their buff bar (the best way to tell which one is the real one) and constantly call target so you can identify the real one quickly since you only have a small window before they block or go invuln.

In pvp the best you can hope for is to stale mate them in wvw well gluck cause the stats esp expertise is broke as kitten

Sides due to resistance and what not, it only is kinda of reliable against kittenty revs, staff eles, rangers if you draw out their lightning reflex and pop it after they go cele form, condi teefs and Necros (which good ones will send it back to you) I would say simply due to the power creep of oh kitten buttons and resistance it’s underpowered, I mean hell if it was reliable you would see slot more rangers in big groups

There is a real issue here, I don’t care much about the solution but it needs one.

While, for whatever reason, I don’t seem to have the same difficulty on this front, I’d totally support a “Reflected!” over what might represent a significant power creep that could result in potential class breaking nerfs to druid down the road to compensate.

If that message could be toggled on/off via options, all the better.

Condi mes is pure cheese, constant 11stacks of to me at ans confusion, while they either double mass invisi/moa and block/invuln.

But as for your question op metabttle has actually updated their builds foe wvw and the basis behind them is not bad to suit.

I think k then hit the nail on the head. What you can do is constantly take small objectives and pop boosters don’t for get the free guild hall one if you have it, you’ll rank up quick enough. I usually go on a bl tower/camp tour. Usually draw fights and helps the server out.

There looks like there’s a alot of confusion what roaming is. And take the negativity with a grain of salt lolz peeps take this way to seriously. Anyways here’s my way too indepth explanation.

Theres 2 types havocing and roaming

Well first off roaming is small very small 1-4 peeps usually lightly or unorganized, usually just friends looking for fights, can they be effective? Well ya a few ways

1st they can back cap objectives,

2nd they can frustrate maps, I’ve personally had a ebg zerg come after me and my one friend since we were on a roll and capping and killing everything, lots of hate pms there. Which is great cause it can take the pressure off of the main tags in other maps

3 going for the sniping/gank when their tag is attacking an objective, think of ambushing the enemy to prevent reinforcements, if you show you are decent enough tags will occasionally ask you to do your thing and help out

Finally roaming is hella fun, I’ve made some good friends on enemy servers just cause we enjoyed the fight. Spent many a day just milling about chating and dueling. A bit more rare these days cause everyone’s getting more and more toxic as Anet’s been weak with the updates, (for cats sakes it’s been a year since they promised an overhaul and passing things out in phases)

Now on the down side has roaming got wayyy harder well yes, back in the day due to the less boons and restriction of stats, very limited non cc aoe and less reset buttons 2-3 good full zero players could wipe zergs

Since the condi change and elite specs it’s kitten near impossible to lazer a decent tag who’s in to as all the members have perma everything which means you cant cc, or do enough damage, not to mention whenever you down someone mercy guards and ect can install red them. it can still happen but it’s hard and thus roaming has been nerfed.

Now for the more effective havoc. Well havocing is 5-10 super organized guilds, think mini fight guilds, who aggressively hit objectives either ppting, fighting, or zergbusting. They can be super effective, laying waste and building off each others builds, and generally can do whatever “roamers” or on the other hand what zergs do just way more efficiently. Although sometimes you get the baddies who organize and just gank solo roamers

Now to roaming guild and havoc guild can be one in the same, for example my guild is usually very loose and disorganized, on rare occasions when my guild leader is on and my guild decides to actually play a Comp, we can do some pretty crazy fights, and I’d say last year we were in our prime and even took on a few fight guilds, now due to the absence of certain key players we’re now very loose roamers with varying degrees of skill. Some are good some are well leave much to be desired.

Dude it’s been two days and we’re still way off from the next PvP season, shoutbow and power survival with probably nature magic will still be viable, and in a world where warriors fall off, rangers do better.

Evasive purity is crazy good

That nature magic trait evasive purity is so good im running base melee ranger just fine. That with sig of renweal that 2 condis removed every 10 secs on top of survival traits, hell for pvp I’m even thinking of a pure go kitten yourself condis builds with the new sigils

The new sword trait is quite gooood

ws with quick draw is gkitten good but I love my beast mastery and gs too much, I just live the burst when landed right. But ya staff and quick draw can see some clutch as plays,

Also fantastic placing of the mushrooms, I use s controller so I tend to kitten up the placement.

Your pets are affected too, there are some pets that deal 6k damage on two skills even if you get LOS’d you could use your pet and longbow #5. Also when you have traited SOTW, you automatically use the skill at 50% hp or something like that I forgot.

Na, it was only semi-useful in LB/GS power build that was rather weak to begin with. No one is complaining because they nerfed an already useless utility. Ranger has 1 effective build and playstyle at the moment. This did not hurt that build, so know one cares.

1 usefull build? What are you smoking. You can literally play any druid build effectively the only one that is weak ATM is condi druid, but for pvp and wvw there isn’t a trait line that I can’t or don’t use.

Also all of our weapons are used I can’t think of a useless ranger weapon they all have a place depending on what you want to do

Yes it’s just a bug were you get stuck in druid form, I forget how to trigger it but it only happens in bitterfrost

They’re quite easy to kill in a 1v1 it’s when your fighting two or are in a fight with someone else that they become an issue.

Anyways what’s your class OP I could give you some ideas there pretty easy to counter with ranger/warrior/rev/scrapper and the ultimate teef killer dragon hunter.

I just want a strong tell on the gdman thing is that so hard to ask, the little hand up and down motion is not okay, maybe if the smoke effect hit you first then applied the spread, just so you can be like oh kitten dodge. That’s it if not that than just a CD increase.

Yes there’s 2 power based PvP/wvw ones. The beast Master nature magic shout build and beast Master marksmanship remorseless build. Quick draw other than the trait wouldn’t add anything to those 2builds

Instead worrying about the gimmicks of names, let us have a gamewide server alliance chat system through all game modes that can easily be turned on/off, with some restrictions to avoid spam.

Some example restrictions could be:
- Only can write message in WvW – this will pretty much also limit the spam from f2p alt accounts
- One post per duration of time
- Maybe tied to wxp rank? Extra control on f2p alt account

Server loyalty and pride don’t really come from the name, it’s from the interactions within the server community.

For those that will say “But this won’t fix the population balance etcetc.” Of course it won’t. There is no magic formula to immediately fix the issue with 1 or 2 big changes – hopefully you realised that after all these years. Everyone will have their own, always conflicting, opinion on what makes WvW WvW. The only thing that no one ever disagrees is the sense of server community.

So why don’t we start with making the greater community care for WvW and on their respective server?

Remoresless GS builds to me seem like something that would be really fun before elite specs hit and killed the viableness of nything that wasn’t a meta build.

Remorseless is still good just it’s harder to play to be effective, and people tend to be drawn to easier to play and be effective builds.
hell this one dude I think named maize had videos of wrecking esl players (one of which was the bunker meanders meta and that was before this buff )

Also you loose team support which is what druid is ment for.

To OP I see what your doing with the sigs (maybe I can make it work I’ll try ur build out later) but I just just can’t justify taking the sig traits over clarion bond and mom of clarity. I’d rather go balls deep if I’m going to play burst. And you can reasonably proc mom of clarity 4 times, and cycle through those.

Also if your taking soldier runes I would go with protect me (cleanse, protection, taunt stun break) and sig of wild (I like the regeneration for ag form) and renewal. Idk I’m not a huge fan of stone especially since the CD nerf and does nothing against condis.

They should just give it entangle and call it a day

Tiger and hilt bash hit more reliably, but it still is an easily counterable build. Warrior thief and any Condi build will shut you down still.

Everything is a “counterable build” actually warriors and teefs I have an easy time with. As they are both easily countered by big bursts, (warrior well 2 bursts one to trigger the passive and one to end em)

Now a medi dh or condi mes will give you trouble since they can negate your bursts consistently if they properly manage cds

It’s not a bug. They have yet to split pve and wvw balancing. And to an earlier post: this was tested less than half an hour after the patch and it does apply 3 in wvw.

Retal, druid form, mesmer sword 3 all are spilt between wvw and pve.

Clarion bond is broken since the update and even before. With the recent changes to call of the wild for rangers, the rangers attacks for the next 4 seconds is unblockable. The patch notes mentioned they “fixed” SIGNET of the wild from a bug making them unblockable but now when i use pet swap, which grands me CALL of the wild, my skills are completely blockable AND the blast finisher does not work at all when you are granted CALL of the wild (which has always been a bug for some time). It is important to mention that the pet itself is not blockable still, BUT the ranger is. “Clarion Bond” says nothing about ONLY the pet being blockable and until this update, it worked as intended. Warhorn 5 does say pet only, but im not even sure if its always been like that considering no one uses warhorn.. This is a bug causing the ability and combo finisher to work not as intended, both for the unblockable damage AND the combo finisher.

Lol dude wrong thread and clarrion bond was since the call of the wild buff, only applies to pets period.

And second the blast finisher on clarion bond only dosnt work on smoke fields, which at this point if feel like it’s intended.

Nope dps still sucks but seriously guys, GS is a defenisve, burst weapon, PVE needs either 3 things Sustained deeps, buffs, heals. Nowhere in that would GS fit, howver its insane for pvp/wvw like it should be thats its role, not every weapon should beable to do everything.

Zenith uh gs is a defensive, burst weapon so it’s great for pvp who cares about it being good for Pve, you have sword and offhand axe for that.

Dammmm my build got buffed. Boiss just gs, and tiger, your talking 12k ish bursts. And with the hilt bash buff you can keep hitting like a truck

obbsesion? its logic, if in another player vs player game mode, stats and runes were stalling the fights out and they fixed it by taking the healing/toughness stats and broken runes out, now bunker scrappers, druids, mesmers are not really an issue (they still do have plenty of good viable builds too that use the same skills ect as before) cept for the occasional really good menders ele.

The stat issue is further compunded by food and utility, most of the build you guys are complaining about would no longer be that big of an issue if they controlled the stats better. The style would be still there but they would actually have to use skill to do anything (as they would get hit harder and couldnt heal as much and have less boon uptime)

Condi mesmers are not a problem in PvP, Condi wars are killable, no ghost reefs to speak of. Hmmm oh yea the stats are actually balanced

Anyways balancing wvw mechanics and making it accessible to newer players would inject wvw with so much more. Balanced exciting content explodes games up. PvP is the best it’s ever been in part due to the new league system and every class is viable and matches don’t stall out (it’d extremely engaging and bursts) . Wvw on the other hand (in small scale fights 1-100 has turned into PvP season 1 boring kite bunker.

Rofl look at bdo that game is dying on the floor and the biggest complaint is there’s no skill for PvP it’s all a grind wall.

Also would like to say this could really help ease newer players into wvw, as they could now easily hop into ts ask tag or whoever hey what’s a good build? And kitten near instantly would be set up for success instead of having to grind a separate gear set solely for wvw.

Also guilds would have a way easier time to try new comps and could adjust on the fly to changes in the meta instead of having to wait for their guys to cycle through stats swapping or gear grabbing.

I would like to point out this ironically would create build diversity. Currently one of the biggest complaints with wvw is that everyone is running bunker meta (lol remember season one of PvP? It’s like that every where) there’s currently no down sides to running tank. With the prevalence of boons plus over the top stats combined with runes and food, might stacking and protection further compound this issue thus making burst glass cannon builds ineffective against any organized comp. With a reigned in stats amulet system this would be mitigated as now everyone runs a downside to a certain type of damage.

Pet accounts for a considerable part of ranger damage but that damage is not available in big fights because the pet doesn’t survive for more than 5 seconds. You are basically playing a class without class mechanic.
It is that simple.

? You can always go bear and smokestacl and they survive all but the biggest blobs especially if your running NM BM.

Bear gives aoe cleanse every 20 secs and more cleanse is always good. Smoke scale does the rev 3 skill every time you swap to it or enter combat so it will hit. And also who cares about damage if your main goal as a druid frontliner is to heal.

Druid is excellent roamer and even better havocer or zergbuster

But you clearly don’t ranger. Pets only attribute burst damage and that’s the new ones. Most of them are just utilized for utility.

Yaks are still blinking all over the place. Normally I would think lag but my guildies will experience the same yak blinking and our projectiles will fly behind us.

Power Rangers ment for burst damage not sustain. It’s fine power buffer still is super good and offers that form of game play. Cides I’m sure the next elite spec will be offensive orirented. I’d argue that ranger/druid actually is one of the most versatile builds classes in the game right now. (Would be baddas if they buffed sword though since you can’t stick to your target anymore.)

Hell druid have us some much needed teamplay (I don’t care much for healing outside of raids and play a murder remorseless build in PvP and I love it. I bet you 5g the next elite spec will be the offensive gap we need
