Your virtual memory is capping at 99% when you are crashing. People will say it’s not an issue, but it is. It’s a memory issue. Might be an issue with the sector your virtual memory is using, or it could be that your actual memory is having an issue which is forcing the game to use so much virtual.

Their SLA is 72 hours for the first reply. Make sure you did get the automated message, if you didn’t get that, then you won’t get any reply from them.

The thing about mmos is that things change. They will add new features to keep people interested, and older computers will have issues with it. It really sounds like your computer is the problem and not the game. It sucks, but that is what happens with technology.

It could be that your network card is slowly starting to have issues sending large amounts of data. It could be your video card just can’t handle as much information as before. It could that your processor just can’t handle all the information needed to process the game. It could be your hard drive can’t spin as fast.

If you want an answer from Anet, sending in tickets is the best you’ll get. Posting the same post over and over isn’t going to help you out. It’s actually frowned upon.

The game is in a very bad way at the moment with lots of people having issues from high pings, lag, crashes, fps isuues and so on.

I logged in yesterday and didn’t even have time to type “hi all” in guild chat before I crashed. Everything was fine until 26th patch.

I have taken a break until Anet sort it out.

Actually, most of the “high ping and lag issues” are unrelated to Anet and they can’t even fix it. It’s completely out of their hand. It’s people who don’t actually understand how the internet works that blame Anet.

They aren’t going to change it. They could have just never done it, but people complained way too much.

The reason it’s so expensive is because of the market, which Anet has 0 control over. You could just go and farm all the materials without buying anything.

If you don’t want to work on it anymore, don’t. But expecting Anet to change something, or reverse what you have done, when they were really honest about the option, PLUS all the guides out there about it is really beyond reasonable expectations.

The point of legendarys is just that, to take time to make them.

People complained that precursors were hard to get, so Anet gave them another method, but they certainly cannot make that new method “easy”.

If you really want to quit GW2 over 1 very small part of the game, then you need to really think about many things in your life. You don’t need a legendary to compete. They have the same stats as ascended weapons. So do you really need that skin? Or can you just do all the other features of the game.

You realize when it’s a gpu driver issue, it’s not on Anet to fix it, but on the gpu driver to be fixed. You are laying the blame on the wrong people here. Anet can’t fix how your driver works.

I thought you were talking about mods as in moderators, as in, people for support. They have a LFG tool, otherwise, you use map chat or even their forums, or reddit. But no, they don’t allow any mods for the game. And rightly so.

They have support available 24/7, but depending on the issue, they don’t respond, or respond right away. If you are reporting hackers, you report in game and move on and Anet will look into it.

Anet has never had ingame support in the 3 years the game has been out.

Someone posted a trace route from Australia to Anet, and it had some hops between the two of you being really slow. You should also run one to see where the issue is, so you can actually blame the correct people.

Telling Anet your speed is slow isn’t going to get anything fixed. You have to show where the issue is so they can assist you, or tell you where the problem is so you can deal with it.

You do realize how useless that piece of information is. For all anyone knows, your computer could be running a scan and slowing everyting down.

If you really want to do something, you need to trace your internet connection to Anet’s servers and see where the problem is. Most of the time, it’s not at Anet’s server, or their ISP so it isn’t actually an issue on them.

The easiest one to use is ping plotter. Google it and when you are having the lag issues, run it and see where the problem is. If it really is happening at Anet’s servers/ISP, you can send it to them so they can look into it. A picture of high ping is going to get you no where, and it won’t get fixed.

Your GPU is also not going into its full x16 speed. Make sure its in the PCI-E slot closest to the CPU and re-seat it if you haven’t already.

Also, I opened and cleaned all my computer today, video card, processor, RAMs, etc… and it improved just a bit (arround 5 fps).
Now it’s arround 25 fps vecause I overcloded from 800 to 850MHz.

Your GPU is running at x1 instead of x16, that will cause a massive fps issue. If during your cleaning you didn’t reseat your video card, or ensure it’s in the correct slot, you might want to try that.

Hi Chad, first of all, huge fan of your work and I can’t get over how mind-blowingly beautiful the graphics in this game are. Now, I understand the High Res Character option and Best Texture Filtering option has been disabled for insufficient CPU’s. Well I’m a little confused because I can check the latter option yet not the former. And I do believe I have a quad-core computer (unless my DxDiag tool is lying to me lol.) No Name Change Warning?

Have you had a forced name change for one of your characters before? If you have maybe they are not giving you any more chances. It is possible too that they have changed their policy and are no longer as lenient as they were before.

If the person has a consistent issue, then yes, they could very well change it, otherwise, they let the person pick a new name.

That’s their SLA for responding to a ticket. 3 days/72 hours. They try to hit before that, but it can be up there. Especially with people creating multiple tickets for the same issue.

You should look at submitted a ticket then to Anet if you want assistance with this. It sounds like your computer is putting your network card to sleep/reduced usage unless it has a steady high stream of data going through.

Ok, I logged on this morning and was thinking about being a massive idiot and crash some more. Know what I found out? By what I have seen and felt the last half an hour it acctualy works again. Thank you scipters and coders of arenanet, lots of love \o/

Rephrase on this. It still wont work for me. Silverwastes work perfect, been getting 2 ranks since i got in. But thats all there is. Cant go into the next area out of frear of crashes and such.

When the game crashes, can you post the game log here so we can see what the issue could be.

It sounds like it’s actually an issue on your end and not Anet’s. If your internet connection isn’t completely stable, or your pathway from your house to Anet’s server hits a hop that is having an issue, or even if your network port on your computer can’t handle the amount of bandwidth you are sending through.

The issue that Anet was posting about yesterday was fixed. It was a global based issue. Now it’s not. It really is something on your ends.

He’s running dual video cards so on most motherboards that aren’t socket 2011, two video cards are supported by spliting the x16 PCIe to the CPU into two x8.

Oh Anet knows exactly why they suspended your account. Account issues is a wide coverage of reasons.

It’s used if an account is hacked, and they block it until the rightful owner reclaims it.
It’s used when there is a billing/game key issue.
Etc.

Also, your post isn’t even 24 hours, let alone 72 hours old. They have an SLA of 72 hours to respond to players.

The issue is, there were mini roll backs during this time. I doubt they will see one dropped because of all the roll backs that were happening. You can still attempt to send in a ticket, but usually when an online game is having those issues, it’s best not to try anything that could result in you having to redo progress.

If you could do a test for me. Download GPU-Z and when this problem occurs take a screenshot like this (Gpu-Z on top of the Gw2 window)

Ignore CPU-Z for the moment.

Here is the GPU-Z monitors on top of my Gw2 client. (There is one for each GPU). My FPS was not capped at the normal 17-19 FPS, however I made sure the FPS cap setting was not buggy by swapping it to 30 and back to 60 and it did not fix the capping issue. That being said, here are what the pictures are.
(GPUs overclocked from 1150Mhz to 1210Mhz and is very stable)

Pic 3 – Low settings with high FPS (after restart)
Pic 4 – High settings with high FPS

Did you run a ping plotter before running to the forums asking where the lag is coming from? Ping plotter will tell you where the issue is, and then you can post it, if it shows that it’s at Anet’s server or their ISP. Anywhere else is outside of their control.

Is there going to be an official response to this problem? Its a rather large one for a lot of your customers, and you aren’t letting us know whether you are able to fix the problem?

It is easy to replicate on multiple systems and yet its like Anet are denying it exists. Even chatting with support, via a friends account who has EXACTLY the same problem its clear that they wont admit this is a known issue yet will say to avoid using Windows 10. This is the CURRENT operating system and while I understand GW2 was not out when Windows 10 was introduced this is the only problem of its kind I have seen on close to a library of 200 games since moving to Windows 10.

There was a time when Windows ME was the CURRENT operating system, but many people will remember how awful it was. Just because it is current doesn’t mean it is the best to use. Windows 10 has a lot of updates that happen without most users knowledge, and it also still has an issue with the automatic driver updates.

That’s a windows issue, not a game issue. You really should take your problems up with Microsoft. Anet can only do so much. They can’t go and make the drive work for their game. Especially when it works for so many others.

Then your ISP is blocking everything to control bandwidth. You can do what IC said and talk to support, but really, you can’t expect video game companies to completely change how their product connects to the internet because your ISP is blocking things.

And using a VPN wouldn’t change things if they have ports blocked…. you still have to get past the blocks even with a VPN. It really sounds like you are having other issues, and placing the blame on the wrong feature. If a VPN fixes it, it sounds like the path you take on the internet with just your ISP has a hop with an issue, and the VPN is bypassing that hop.

Then I’d call your mobo provider for help. Because under specs it doesn’t list 2666, and also, that ram is meant to have all 4 pieces in.

If something isn’t working with that, then either your motherboard is having an issue, or the ram isn’t work.

Right from your mobo specifications website, it appears you bought the wrong ram for your computer. And when you changed it to match what you bought, it will cause a lot of problems.

It’s 2 new sticks. I replaced my old RAM. My motherboard specs say they’re compatible. I suppose 1 or both could have issues. Seems everytime I put new RAM in I have issues. I had bought a different set before and the computer wouldn’t even boot with them in so I returned those and bought these. I had to adjust a setting in BIOS to get them to work properly. I had the frequency orignally set to auto but it was showing them slower than they’re supposed to be so I manually changed it to what they should be and they worked but I’ve been having blue screen of deaths that I thought was unrelated to the RAM but perhaps it is related?

But if the RAM is having issues why does it stop having issues after I reboot?

Rebooting clears the RAM, and then after a bit you get errors again.

I put in new memory about a week ago. been having computer issues ever since. Different than this. First time with this game. But it always fixes itself after a reboot. I don’t understand why.

Because you are having a memory issue. It’s unrelated to the game. Either the new stick is bad, or it’s incompatible with your other ram. Ram issues can cause a wide variety of problems. But you do need to fix it. Otherwise you will keep having problems.

You are having a massive memory issue with your computer.

Honestly, I don’t know much about that stuff, but there is certainly an issue.

You might want to run a memory test to see if any of your sticks are failing, or even check if they are seated properly. Your virtual should never hit that high. Something is really going on with the regular and virtual memory on your computer. I doubt what I suggested will help fix the problem, but it could help remove what isn’t going on.

Um, if your ISP is blocking port 80, you should really look at switched fast. Port 80 is almost always used for browsers, and it should really not be closed. If they are blocking everything, it means they are really trying to conserve/control bandwidth usage. Anet isn’t going to be able to get around this. It’s really on your ISP.

Even your browser to access the internet needs open ports to send and receive information. It’s like locking the front door of your house, and telling you to get out of it, but you can’t open the front door.

You should look at updating to a 64bit OS. You are having a memory issue due to the limited ram access on your 32bit OS. That will help fix a lot of your issues.

Just so you know, when you send the crash reports to Anet, it’s not tied to your account or anything so they wouldn’t be able to track it. Also, the crash.log you posted contains mostly “gibberish” to humans, so we can’t really read it.

It’s best to get a crash again, and just copy/paste what is happening.
