How G2A works: People buy keys from other sources (usually with a sale, or a stolen credit card) then resells the key to other people. If it’s with a stolen card, they just sell it for a low amount knowing the price entices people.
Now the original stolen card started charging back all the purchases. This can even take a month or 2 to occur. (Some people are really bad at checking their statements.)
So what you are saying, you want people to wait to ensure the key isn’t stolen. Sometimes those charges aren’t removed until it’s shown up on a statement to the original owner. Then the credit card company has to research the charges. THEN the charge backs occur. Should people really wait a month after entering a key to see if it was purchased from a legit source.
It’s not a very quick thing that occurs.
If you notice, that is from Level 3. Anet does not have any control over that spot, nor can Anet fix the issue. You need to contact your ISP and inform them so they can let that company know. Anet can’t help you. It’s nothing on their end, nor do they control which hops you take to get to their servers.
But there’s no way to upgrade my already existing account to a HoT account without purchasing the HoT right?
That is how you upgrade, you have to purchase it.
You can also just buy a prepaid credit card (ensure you check if your country will charge tax with the purchase, or if you will have a conversation rate if purchasing with a different currency) and use that. It works like a regular credit card, as long as you have enough funds.
Many places sells them, like Walmart, or corner stores, or even some gas stations.
First most players only use heros to replace the empty slots not filled, or in some cases make the completion of the mission viable (eg adding monks= heros or necros).
I am not requesting the development of new unique content, simply for some skills to be changed back to how they use to work in PvE (to help encourage groups to form, as currently things like dungeons etc are often very difficult to teach to new players, especially UWsc/DoA/Fow).
The manipulation of drop rates would be a very easy fix and wouldn’t require a lot.
Yes, I am aware of Anet’s previous statements regarding this topic, however they also implied that Gw1 servers would be completely wiped, yet haven’t been. They have made it clear that the on going costs are a fraction of Gw2 so I can’t see any financial reason that this isn’t possible. Hell, if they want to why not start up a funding page, if enough people give then clearly there is enough potential profit to invest in Gw1.
Look at what Extra Credit achieved with their fund raising, you honestly think a company like NCsoft/Anet couldn’t generate 10-20-100 times that amount?
Simple: Why spend money when they aren’t going to make any from it. Tweaking the game isn’t going to net them new sales. And a couple people buying it for HoM rewards isn’t enought to make tweaks.
Welcome to a game in maintenance mode only. And do not be surprised if/when this thread is locked for being off topic, as this is the GW2 forums and they do not handle any of the GW1 requests.

It is bull how there are multiple instances of this same type of issue being submitted on these forums for mac people and not a single solitary person responds from Anet yet 1 person running windows and omfg lets just drop what we are doing. SMH
Because if you need support, you’re supposed to submit a ticket. The forums isn’t the place where they can give support all the time. The amount of posts they get is too many for any team to be able to handle.
If you really need help, submit a ticket. Michael has even said there is Mac support agents.

presumably that means in a bullying context, if you cant reference trademarks or historical figures than most every name i have ever used would have been removed, and every name im looking at in game right now. (goodbye batman) no i was singled out
It means in any context as Anet sees fit. Some someone reports a name, and it actually goes against this naming policy, Anet can choose to force a name change.

How do i add a Hot to an already exiting account. As how do i go about doing that.
Since you created the account, you need support to do it. And they will merge them together. At this point the serial key from HoT is used and won’t allow you to add it to your existing account.
The account name is the email address you used, so it would have been what you used to log in. It wouldn’t have allowed you to create the new (aka HoT) account with is.
It sounds like you created a new account. To add HoT to an already existing account, you need to do that on the forums.
So you don’t need all the of information to speak to support, and if what the form asks isn’t enough, they will ask additional questions that being the original owner of the account, you should know.
Having it contain the IP doesn’t help you in the slightest. You are either trying to log in, or you aren’t. If you aren’t trying to log in, and an SMS (or receive the email, depending on what you use) arrives, should be pretty obvious that something is wrong.
If you are required to submit a code, or authorize a network, then you wouldn’t be allowed to log in. If you logged in, and later on received one, someone is trying to get into your account. Means they have your email address and a password you use.
No, was doing something else, not internet related thing.
I got a timestamp so i’m sure when I got it.Is it possible that it belongs to an earlier successful login?
I got the sms at 10:29 and i was logged in at 9:10
If your phone didn’t have a service signal when you logged into game, then it’s possible. It’s also possible someone else tried to log into your account. You should still think about changing your password. Or, you might want to create a new email address and have anet change your account to that one.
You have to do the story mode since they released the new pvp track.
Actually, aren’t they now requiring them to be combined? I can’t remember.
Nonsense to me. I purchased this game while it was in beta, using the same credit card I also used to buy a small amount of gems last year, and then used the same credit card to buy the $99 expansion. The credit card and my account has always been tied to the same name and address…
It is a stupid thing and no other game that has a store where you can exchange items for in game money, including but not limited to World of Warcraft, Everquest 1, Everquest, Eve Online, and many more do not have this silly restriction. There are plenty of ways to detect fraud, this is not one of them!
If I do not receive the gems in exactly 72 hours from purchase, I consider this fraud by NCSoft.
PS: I also own and played (with the same credit card AION and Wildstar) since their release. Same name, same address.
If you want, I can link the numerous places where they clearly stated that it can take up to 72 hours to receive them. And fraud is the reason. They are verifying each purchase. And you should be happy they haven’t kept your billing information from the other games tied to GW2. Because that would open up a huge can of security issues. Unless you bought it at a store (Which, just so you know, that version is impossible) anywhere where you bought it clearly states it.
You really are angry about something that very clearly has been there for many months even.
Oh so it’s not just me. Was talking to GW2 support and I got this response:
- Thank you for getting back to us and providing the requested report.
I noticed the previous agent asked you to contact your ISP. But I will give you more details regarding that and I will also give you the exact information you need to give them regarding Packet Loss from Hubs. After reviewing the WinMTR report you just sent, I noted that the package loss causing the disconnections is starting on your local network Hub: “BrightBox.ee” and I also found some Jitter (Ping Spikes) that went from 183 to 584 (you can find this in t he column under the title “Wrst”) in the following IP: “213.1.112.80”. I do strongly recommend to contact your ISP in order to troubleshoot this issue. You can send them the reports you just sent to us, in order to make it easy for them to locate the root of the issue. Remember to highlight that the package loss start on your local network Hub.
Please contact them at your earliest convenience and let me know if you have any additional questions about this issue.
Unfortunately I am not the owner of this connection and he is away on holiday for 2 weeks. I am not sure what I’m gonna do though, I’ll try to call EE tomorrow but I doubt I’ll get anything because as mentioned.
I am based in London. The related ping issues thread also showing alot of concerns that are related.
Some internet providers (at least in Canada) will help you troubleshoot issues with the service even if you aren’t the account holder. Good luck calling though. I know some American companies are silly. Mine knows the service is paid for, so they want to ensure they can help fix issues.
ah man
… iam very sad now….. all the effort for nothing… thx anet i will remember that!
So if it was all that effort for nothing, why did you delete in the first place? And really now, how can Anet know what you deleted? Do you really think they have a database somewhere storing every item you have deleted? You made the choice to remove them, because you didn’t think they were worth it.
Same here. Wired to modem. Lag, spike, dc, internet blinks off, lose connection to TS, internet comes back on, everything resumes as normal except GW2 won’t connect (connection errors detected). Has started happening regularly since Tuesday. Never lose my connection except when playing GW2.
If I let GW2 continue, it often reconnects after 10-30 minutes. All other aspects of the internet are working fine in the meanwhile.
It sounds like your capping out on your bandwidth from your modem, and it loses it. I would suggest calling your ISP (if the modem is from them) and see what troubleshooting they can do.
I was having that issue and it turned out my router wasn’t working. It would tap out and drop my connection. They sent me a new one as a replacement due to it.
My router works perfectly fine, all other games, browsers and websites work, but NOT gw2. I join, have 50-100ping, try to enter an instance and it rockets to 4-5k ping. So I know its not on my end, its on ArenaNet’s end.
Run PingPlotter (you can google it) and show it’s on Anet’s end. Anet’s connection can’t completely drop your connection. It sounds like you’re hitting a wall in your router and other things don’t hit it.

It looks like it’s not set. Have you gone to your skills and attempted to re-select your heal ability?
You do realize how the internet works. If you did what support asked, then it’s pretty clear the path you take from your router to anet’s server is the issue, and they are correct. They can’t change the path you take.
So the Dev’s can’t fix the path you take. And whatever isn’t working on that path is outside of Anet’s control.
This still stems back to the university blocking something, or have something on their connection. Sorry, but you want Anet to fix something (that they don’t even do) because schools are controlling their internet.
If the schools want to block it, then they should assist in any game that is having this issue (as in pay for the changes). Otherwise, blame your school and stop blaming Anet.
Your video card is running at x8 1.1. Check your video card drivers, and possibly revert to a previous version. (Since you have a laptop and can’t go in and reseat the card).
It also could be a dust issue.
Thanks for the help. I will try to revert the driver. Shouldn’t be a dust issue, since it was working fine some day ago. I really hope it isn’t dust. To clean it I would have to completely disassemble the laptop. It had problems with dust and heating early this year, but the motherboard and graphics card were replaced. Would be some awful luck to had the same problem within months.
Laptops still have vents on the side that you can blow compressed air at.
Still the same problem with an earlier driver. I will test some others, but thanks anyway.
Usually when that starts happening, it’s the GPU isn’t fully in the slot, or is having issues, or is just dusty. Since you have a laptop, it’s really hard to fix most of those issues.

If you get a refund your account will be permanently closed, so make sure that
you really want that. And no .. you can’t reopen it .. and then close it again, just to reopen it later
and then close it .. and so on ..
If it’s the prepurchase, but they have a “PAID” base game, yes, Anet has been refunding HoT and the account isn’t closed.
If it’s F2P, the account is closed and gone.
If it’s a brand new account with HoT, the account is closed and gone.
You have to submit a ticket about the missing gems.
Just going to put this here (as it’s been this way since Free to play was announced).

I upgraded my account, but the game is still acting as though I’m on a free account!
After you upgrade a free account, you’ll need to exit the game and log back in to see your permissions change. There’s also a longer delay (up to five days) before mail attachments, the Black Lion Trading Company, and guild banks are unlocked. You should see a message in-game displaying the time remaining before you have full access to these features.
You would have to speak to support. That is too many what ifs to be able to give a correct answer.
My guess: If it was F2P and you purchased HoT, you actually bought a full account, and thus, they would close it and make you create a new F2P account. There are still differences between the purchased base game and free to play accounts. They can’t go into an account and remove features that become unlocked.
Uninstall the VPN Service you are using. That is the answer. It’s breaking your GW2 game. Or you can contact the makes of Astrill and inform them of the issue their program is causing and wait for them to fix it (if they do).
I just don’t get how they can let this problem go through it obviously not on our end because so many people are having the issue and the worse part is that this is right before the beta weekend which now I will probably miss they should have fixed this as soon as they possibly could and if its not fixed tomorrow I will be quite upset.
Because of how the internet works, a lot of the time it isn’t at their end either, but one of the connecting points between the two. And before you say Anet is still responsible. No, they aren’t. It’s owned by another company, who isn’t Anet’s ISP.
That is why when there is lag issues, they always request a trace route/ping plotter, to show where the issue is. So if it’s at their ISP, Anet can contact them. Or if it’s at their server. Or one of the connection points in between.
As much as people say “Well x game isn’t having lag, so it HAS to be on Anet”. That isn’t how the internet works either. You don’t follow the same path to everything. Sometimes Path A is broken, and Path B is working. Anet doesn’t get to pick which path you take to their servers.
I am not saying this is or isn’t Anet’s issue. I’m saying you need to show WHERE the issue is so the correct people can fix it.
first of all ty angus and second of all, i said i never received meaning not at all so read carefully.\ freedomgeass
Actually, if you read what he said, you need to be “current” level. You never specified your level, so his comment is correct. I think what you said was “read carefully”.
You gave limited information, people were trying to assist you. It sounds like something you did to not earn the chest. Like do enough damage, be the correct level, already done it that day (as in since the previous daily reset, not your 24 hour timeframe).
i don’t use twitter, did they say how long i (or we) will have to wait for the servers to go back up ?
You don’t need an account to look at a twitter page by the way. And since it seems the forums were having issues, it makes sense to have another fast method to communicate the situation.
Are you the spec in pvp that lets you have a pet? I know they were changing the specs that one of them will not have a pet. Is it possible in spvp you are that spec?
Did you find out anything on this? I bought the Heroic Edition online, and it works ok. I can go to Lions Arch, and leave the early zones. The f2p chart says that would be blocked, but I can still do those things, and my account page shows a full active copy.
However, I cannot sell things on the trade shop or buy things. I was running out of space too so had to throw away items, until a mate sent be some bags.
It says I have to wait 4 days. It also says I have to upgrade to hot but I paid for the game, so can’t afford to pay again really. A person responded in a post I made (here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/Can-t-access-items-on-trade-post/first#post5539560 ) that said it would go normal after the 4 days though so I will see. I hope so.
If not I can reverse the charge hopefully, but they should tell retailers not to sell these copies if they will not work. That’s unfair. Plus, I’ll have to start over again.
You have a full account, but you will not have access to the expansion coming out, and the edition you bought does not include it.
If support doesn’t see a transfer, then it’s possible he never actually was on Fort Aspenwood, and you guys could still EOTM as both servers were the same colour each week.
Unless you were directly beside him when he selected the server, it’s really quite possible he never was.
If he upgraded his account from F2P to a full account, I think (don’t hold me to it) that you are allowed a free server transfer.
It’s quite possible he transferred servers with that free one. Instead of asking support to switch servers, he should ask in his ticket when the last server transfer was.
That’s really the only thing I can see.
You have to speak to support. Sending in a new ticket puts you back of the line, you should have just updated your original ticket stating that you did what the GM asked, and the account is cannot be logged into.
Anet can’t. It’s not their content. You have to protect your work. Anet can’t step in and do that for you. They will only step in if it’s their work being stolen. And in this case, it’s not.
Yes. He can contact support, using a new email address he has created (before contacting them). Just let them know on the form which email to contact, and that you need to change it. They will verify the account information he sends in, and then assist him from there.
Anet doesn’t restore characters that were deleted, since you cannot “accidentally” delete a character. You could delete the wrong one, but with the double confirm they have set up, you can’t delete without knowing.
If you had gem store items on it that you forgot to remove, you can send in a ticket to anet to ask for those items back. The character is gone though.
If you look at the text you posted, most of them are fine, or the issue starts outside of Anet’s control. It’s the path your connection is taking from your modem to Anet’s servers that is having problems.
You can speak to your ISP to see if they have any other suggestions, or try different VPNs, but it really is outside of Anet’s control.
Have you done an error check on your disk? It sounds like something on your system is causing the issue. If it’s a disk error, that could explain why other games work fine, only 1 object can be saved on the part of the disk with the error. It doesn’t explain the lag, but it could explain some of the issues.
Per this link:

Fox, you really can’t go “FIX LAG NOW” and now show where the issue is. On other threads, the Anet team has clearly stated what they require to be able to assist.
Anet is completely aware of issues and willing to fix them. If you don’t help them with that, how can they find the issue. As others have stated, they can go play pvp with 0 lag. So if Anet were to go and “fix the lag” and enters pvp, and never encounters it, how would you expect them to fix it.
So, what you need to do to actually get someone from Anet to help you (including if you ever submit a ticket)
1) Include the specs of your computer (also you might want to include screenshots of the programs CPU-Z and GPU-Z while GW2 is running)
2) Run a traceroute while you’re experiencing this lag to show where the spiking is occuring.
3) Stop getting angry at people trying to help you. If you really wanted it fixed, you would understand that you also need to help so they can find the issue.I’m gonna have to call you out on this one. I’ve taken all the steps mentioned plus 2 support tickets. The problem is on their end.
Prove it, show the trace route you ran.

Make sure you are logged on on the website. Sometimes it “looks” like you are logged in, but you aren’t. That has caused an issue for some people. Otherwise, if that isn’t working, and you are following the steps, I would say submit a ticket to support.
Someone else might also post ideas.
It’s pretty likely your CPU is actually your bottleneck. I used to have that video card thinking it was the problem, but it was really my CPU. Getting a new GPU won’t really increase it. You can still check to ensure your GPU is in the correct slot per the previous post, but really, your CPU is going to cause issues.
Update your ticket again and explain what happened. Are you certain both keys were used? Is it possible you didn’t actually add the second key?
Or is the second key a different type then the first one?
Either way, you still need to speak to support, the forums can’t help you with this issue.
