Mind you the original reason I would come to the forums is for all the rage and/or crying posts on the Support forums section. Some of the “I was banned and it’s wrong” and it turned out to be completely justified. Those were great. Now it’s all “FIX MY PING”.

They removed the ability to put auto cast on heal because people were using it to avoid being kicked for being AFK. There is no way you put it on your heal.

For those not used to reading financial reports that’s South Korean Won – Millions

So HOT generated 17,000Million KRW which is around $14Million US

Compare that to the 20,000Million KRW or |$16 Million US that is generated each quarter by gem store sales alone and I think the figures speak for themselves.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that the game went FTP during Q4, so with an influx of new players, one would expect a quite significant increase in Gem store sales.
If we conservatively estimate this increase at 4-5 Million $US, the figures for HOT are looking truly abysmal.

Actually they don’t because pre order sales that occured in Q3 aren’t released for Q4. Pre-orders have their own category. If you want to see true numbers, you need to get a report of the sales of HoT, both pre orders + active sales. Then you’ll see if it’s a failure or not. Also, getting a refund report of HoT.

Actually, if you really wanted to say HoT release was a failure, getting the sales to refund percentage is the best way. Then you’ll know how many bought, and how many returned. That usually speaks volumes on failure.

Verbal Abuse is not ok

Correct, verbal abuse is not okay. So when you see it, you report and if you are really bothered by it, you block. Anet handles the rest.

Not sure what else you want them to do? Some people need a slap on the wrist and then they step in line, others learn from a few suspensions. And those who are extremely bad will eventually get banned.

Unless you think that someone who is abusive in chat should have their account banned on the first report.

Anet can’t fix it. Yes, your ISP is correct when saying “everything is fine with your connection”. But what your ISP isn’t doing is contacting the hop in question and letting them know about the issue it’s having.

That’s on your ISP and the owner of the hop. Anet isn’t responsible for it.

Ive never seen the game randomly make you reset your password, something doesn’t seem right there, I know support makes you reset your password when you ask them to change any details on the account, ( email etc ) but for the game to make you do it randomly.

I would wait and see what support comes back with.

Could your friend have taken any screen shots of a guild list or pvp etc that might show a char name?

If I recall correctly, they made everyone change their password some time ago (like, well over a year ago). The person in the OP might have just not logged on since before that forced change.

It was in October right after release (so 2-3 months of the game being live). Right after Blizzard had their massive security breach. Anet forced everyone then to try to prevent shared information on their accounts. Your memory serves you well.

Are you able to train your hand at all? I lost feeling in half my left hand, which is my keyboard hand for pretty much every game. I’ve had to train my brain to use it as I can. It’s really hard pressing buttons with fingers you can’t feel.

Ranger is really good. If your mouse has buttons on it, you can also program a key to the button. I used to have loot on my mouse so my left hand had left to worry about. I also found playing guardian was nice for PvE. They are tanky, so you’ll last a while, and if you have HoT, you’ll be able to go Dragonhunter and use a bow. Having range is nice.

Good luck though. I know it’s hard.

legendry issues with silverwaste

I just did these mastery points recently (only got the expansion less then 2 months ago) and it only took me a couple days spending like 4-6 hours in the zones to get all of them. You have to go and escort yaks and camp the one you want, and you’ll get it. That’s how I did it. I picked a camp, and ensured it was taken care of the entire time. Calling for help in map.

The biggest thing, make sure you aren’t in a shovel map. But then you can just ferry onto a map that is doing the meta, and just stay on it.

The problem is, they don’t want to say what they want to change, in case they actually can’t fix it. That doesn’t mean they won’t do anything, but at least until they have a better idea on how to fix things, they won’t have broken promises.

That reminds me, and I am sorry for deviating the subject a bit but it’s been answered, why is it when I choose Canada as my country, the prices do not adjust to CAD? I always end up paying around 5$ more when it bills and I just don’t understand why the system is not showing me the CAD prices.

Presumably because it only has two pricings that it displays, American dollars and the Euro.

That’s disappointing. I used to buy prepaid credit cards because I don’t own a credit card (I’m a student) so it was a real pain in the kitten to deal with the extra I had to pay because of currency exchange. I always ended up with approximately 7$ left on those cards that I couldn’t use because of the increments of gems.

I have never seen GW2 gemcards in my area.

You can’t add more money to those cards? The ones in my area have a Visa or MasterCard logo and you can add money to them as you want at the grocery store that sells them.

In Canada they aren’t reload cards. It’s a 1 time use. And they don’t sell gem cards up here. Montreal had them like 2 years ago. Thankfully, we don’t have to pay sales tax because it’s higher.

To Kitta: Check with your bank, some of them are added visa to their debit cards. TD has them attached to the card, RBC has an online only card they send you. It helps. And they aren’t visas, so you don’t have to do a credit card, it just uses your bank account.

They have a SLA of 3 days (as in 72 hours) to respond, and most tickets are dealt with in 1 day (within 24 hours). But first, did you receive the automated message saying they received your ticket?

Sounds like one the hops your path to Anet’s servers was having an issue. Next time run ping plotter (google it, it’s free) and you’ll see where the issue is. If it’s Anet’s servers, then you can send it to them. If it’s outside of that, you can contact your ISP so they can let the hop know there is an issue. Most ISPs “forget” they can contact the hop in question mind you, so you might have to wait until it’s fixed. Or not having extremely high traffic for whatever reason.

I got HoT mid January. I guess I played a lot before I stopped about a year ago as I’m only 1 point short for finishing Tyria mastery. I have basically all of the Living Story to do for them, just been super lazy with other things. Tyria points don’t seem to really be a problem. You get enough in fractals for fractals. So it’s only the other 2 you have to worry about.

I find the HoT ones “harder” because I can’t do most of the adventures due to my hand not working well, so I’ve had to go slower on those.

Respectful is telling me your side, and saying that you think support is good, support is fine, that it doesn’t need to change.

I counted a lot more than one person, giving me their opinion on the matter (great), and then tacking on some kind of insult or bait for me.

All opinions were welcome from the start aslong as they were civil, I’ve been on defense this entire time. Which is why I want this over with.

You think supports great, and that’s cool.

You do keep saying that, and yet you keep coming back here. I’m really starting to wonder if this is what starts the in game spiral. Someone whispers you, or says something in map chat, and you have to get the last word in, and it spirals on and on. You know you don’t have to come back to your post to read what is written. You don’t have to comment that you are being attacked (when you aren’t, your ideas are, but not in the manner you are positive is happening). You don’t have to say you want this post done. You can leave. You are choosing not to.

So I’ll say it again: If you don’t feel the action taken on another account was good enough, send in a ticket to Anet and talk to them. They don’t even need you to take screenshots of the issue (usually they don’t accept them as they can be photoshopped) BUT they do ask for the player’s name involved and a rough time that it happened, and even which chat channel. They also expect you to block said person as well. You can click support at the top of any page on these forums, then on the right is the Submit a request.

I actually frequent the Support Issues forum a lot (so much drama there from ‘unjustly’ banned accounts) that I can say people do in fact get banned for many many things. Michael and Gaile have also many times called someone out for the chat behaviour when the person claims “they were a saint, or it was just 1 swear word”.

I wanted to talk about support, it turned into a mob solely focussed on trolling the bajeezus out of me, and grew only worse from there.
This guy came along, and spoke the truth, I’m sorry but I consider him my white knight at this point. Even if it’s only because he is the only one to share my view.

There was 1 “troll”, the guy telling you to stop posting. 1 person. Everyone else was asking questions or giving them opinion.

1 troll isn’t a mob focused on trolling you. And the only person who didn’t troll you is the person who shared your opinion.

People who disagree with you aren’t trolling you. You just didn’t like what they have to say. There is a difference. And I’m all for agreeing that the 1 troll is the punk who has said you shouldn’t post and kept coming back. He’s a child and you can ignore him. But most others were pretty respectful.

TIL Not Joining a Squad gets you called out

I will admit, when I’m in a squad, I will invite anyone with us who isn’t in the squad. Why? It’s easier for me to see who is downed in the squad then on the group when a lot is going on. If I see a downed in squad, I can try to find the body to help. I can also see who is dead/dead and remind people they need to run back. Some people still won’t, and wait to be rezzed during long fights.

Those are my two reasons for it. It’s just easier for me to see, but I also don’t call people out for not joining, EXCEPT when it’s a guild raid and someone from the guild isn’t joining. And then I leave that to the leaders to handle.

I don’t take offense at the most innocuous things but it makes you wonder when you have a thread like this, and you explain why you made the thread, but then people starting harassing you over the harassment you mentioned, and it’s like “What?”

So how about you come up with a more reasonable comparison for your concern and then we’ll be able to have a serious discussion.

The post was done far up this page as far as I’m concerned, I am not looking for further discussion, only to be left alone at this point as it’s beyond ridiculous.

To reiterate:
Support is good for you guys. It works fine. Cool. Great. Okay.
My experience is not the same. End of.

This is similar to "I called XYZ Company and demanded ACME product for $2 and they said they only sell it for $12. I demanded my price and they said no. Bad customer service. " Support looked at your report on the person, and deemed it worthy of the action they took. As I even said, Unless you watched that person be online 24/7 from the day you reported until today, you actually have no idea if any action was or was not taken. Just because you saw them again in the game doesn’t mean they weren’t suspended. And unless you added said person, are you 100% certain it’s the exact same. I found someone with my mesmer’s name, but they had an accent on the 2nd E in the name. Otherwise it’s the exact same name. Is it possible it’s just a name super close. And you have stated you have this issue with so many people. That’s a lot of people to harass you in a game that you have kept track of. That’s concerning that you remember all of those people (which, by your own words, you said your block list was getting close to full) that you remember every single one.

So I’m actually starting to wonder. Was it really just 1 person who went really far over the line, and since they are still in the game, it bothers you. If that’s the case, send in a ticket to Anet about it and talk to them. You just said support isn’t good for you, but you don’t want to talk to them.

So, what do you want? What was the original reason for the post?

I don’t want to put more examples, but basically, saying to someone, “Hey maybe it’s you.” or “Look at your own actions first.” is essentially saying it’s my fault. That I asked for the abuse I received. Which I would love to reuse my metaphor’s for right now to explain better but someone will get mad about that again no doubt, so I wont.

It’s Simple. I didn’t ask for any of it ingame. End. Done. Finito.

And no, it’s not about someone being rude. I was using “rude” as a word/quote from someone else. I consider what I received more than simply “rude”.

No. You claim to have received so much in game abuse that your block list is getting full. Many many others say that is not the case. So I’ll be extremely clear with my comparison.

The fact that it’s SO MANY, it could very well be you. Should people still treat you bad, no. But if it is what you are saying, then you also shouldn’t be doing it. That’s not victim blaming, that’s saying both parties are in the wrong. And the worse I ever gotten in this game is asked if I would suck a guys stuff. And I’ve gotten that a few times. Never seen death threats, haven’t talked to anyone who received 1, let alone so many it’s scaring them.

Good to know where people stand on this sort of thing. It’s my fault they did what they did to me.

Example 1: He didn’t say it was you, he asked if ever thought you own behaviour might be to blame?

The block list is only so long… We’re talking about hundreds, thousands of these horrible horrible people. But essentially you’re saying, let them get away with it still?

Excuse my examples, but:
If I were to say, murder your family. Would you accept “ignoring” me as a good form of justice for my crimes?

I understand people still do not want to take cyber bullying (for lack of a better phrase) seriously. But it IS real.

Been playing this game since launch. Can’t say I have ever had to block anyone for being a jerkism or for crimes against justice. And hundreds or thousands of horrible people?

These things are real, and should not be ignored, nor should the victim be victimised further, as is starting to happen in this case already.

Example #2, person said to look at your own actions. That’s not mobbing, that’s asking you to sit down and actually see if you are the problem. Sometimes the “victim” is actually the instigator.

If you give us more information on the rudeness you’re seeing most of the time, then maybe we can talk about what can be done. But until you do, we’re not going to discuss what most of us feel happens only rarely, beyond going: that’s not what I see.

It’s just a case of “rude person” is rude.

Later Date: “rude person” is rude again.
Report again. Nothing happens.
Rinse and repeat endlessly

So either:
A. They need said “rude person’s” money income over temp muting/banning them.
B. They disagree with what has been said/done is rude.
C. They are so inundated with support tickets/reports they simply can’t do anything quick enough.

We know it’s Not B. because I think we all can agree death threats are serious…
And if it’s C. then that is why I suggested alternative support help from player helpers. :p

Pretty sure this post is all about someone being rude. Your entire example is about someone being rude. Then you say “It’s not B because death threats are serious.” Your example isn’t about death threats, it’s about someone being rude. That’s why numerous times you were told to give a specific example of what you are experiencing, and this is what you gave.

No. You weren’t mobbed. You didn’t agree with people who didn’t agree with you, and thus they were attacking you. You did it a few times, and others have pointed it out.

So what I got from all of this is that you’ve reported people for “being rude”, and you still see them around? How do you know Anet didn’t suspend them for 24 hours? Did you friend them and track their times online. Or did you just see them again and felt that what they said deserved a perma ban?

Because from Anet’s stance, they don’t perma ban people for rudeness. Depending on what is said, they suspend the account for a period of time. And said period of time increases as it goes. And yes, I know it works. I have a friend who is extremely hostile in PvP and he says things that even I say he shouldn’t say and to just turn off all chat. But he does. And he gets suspended. Last suspension was for 3 days. He’s been up to 7 before. And he’s been ‘a good boy’ for a while, so it went down.

The system works. But Anet will not ban an account because of what a person says. Unless it’s been an ongoing issue.

Low FPS with low gpu usage GW2

Run the game in windowed mode, and download and run GPU-Z and CPU-Z. And post the pictures. Also, it could be that your computer is in a “cool n quiet” mode while GW2 is running, and isn’t getting picked up to speed up so you don’t have issues. Also, Witcher 3 is a GPU heavy game, and you have a higher end GPU while GW2 is a CPU heavy game, and your cpu is not higher end.

Simultaneously I ran pingplotter to see how my connection is routed to the endpoint. Since I live in Germany I was routed over Frankfurt which in my case is the worst routing I could possibly had because of the ping problem. I contacted my ISP and told them my problem but since I was connected to “working” server IPs I thought this matter was resolved.

So that would be the issue still. Unless that hop you cross over is fixed, it will have problems. There will be times you don’t use it, and times you do.

If it’s not showing up under add/remove programs, then you can just delete the folder. Refunds are only granted if the purchase was made from the original Anet store within the last 30 days. If you purchased it from another source, you will have to discuss your refund with them. If Anet refunds you, your account is closed permanently. If you ever decided to try to come back, you would not be able to repurchase the game to reopen that account. You would have to create a brand new one. It does mean any character names you had would be locked as well.

Well Seleuce, if you read what I posted, the OP’s issue is actually NOT an Anet issue. Not even in the slightest. So please don’t go posting that it’s an Anet problem when in this case it’s clearly proven it’s not.

OP: You can send the picture to your ISP and they have the ability to contact the hop in question to inform them of the issue so the owner can look at getting it fixed. The issue: Your tier 1 ISP tend to not know about this, and will not want to help. And once the owner is informed that the hop isn’t working correctly, it can take a long time for it to get fixed. You can try a VPN to see if it routes you differently until it’s fixed, or see if your ISP can look at routing you differently.

Hop 7 is having packet loss issues.
Hop 9 is having a range of latency coming back. That could be related to the packet loss, or it’s own issue.
Hop 13 is the same as hop 9, but again, since 2 other hops are having issues, it really could be a chain reaction.

The biggest issue is the packet loss on hop 7 though. The range on the latency isn’t an issue as it could just be signal delay.

I know you said you fixed it, but incase it happens again here are a few things to look for.

1) Make sure the new card is running at x16 on your board. You can check this by running the game, and getting GPU-Z and running it as well. It will show you want your card is running it. If it’s not at x16, it can cause hits to your FPS. (Sometimes dust, or other things can cause it to not run at the full speed, usually reseating the card or even getting compressed air to spray on the motherboard can help).

2) Sometimes drivers aren’t happy in life. You might need to go to a previous driver or update to a newer one. Depending on all your specs, different drivers work better for different systems.

3) Also make sure your computer isn’t going into a power save mode. Some laptops do this, or even some motherboards (cool N quiet) which can tank FPS.

2-3 weeks ago a submarine cable somewhere in the Pacific got damaged and everyone from SEA/OCX region had horrible latency (Pings so high, the game gave up on even measuring it). It’s a lot better now, but I still get periods of higher than normal latency. AFAIK the cable isn’t fixed yet.

I know it’s an obvious question, but is anyone else using the internet at the time? Whenever someone uploads videos/photos in my household, my pings go through the roof. Doesn’t seem to happen when they are downloading though.

Sounds like your upload speed is really low (could be your package you have, could be a problem with your connection). You should confirm with your ISP what your upload speed is, and test it. From there, if it’s supposed to be higher then it is, you might be able to fix your issue.

You’re hitting the memory crashes. I would say get the 64 bit version of the game, but you only have 4 gigs of ram in total. You have a ram issue.

Have you done the full story once through before trying to do them again? You have to complete them once, then you have access to the achievements, and then have to do them again. Some of them will put a buff on your bar (in the same spot as boosters/etc) and if the buff isn’t there when you finish the story, you won’t get them. Some of them even require you to finish the story before you will get them. Been working on them myself (trying to get the luminescent set) and they have been working just fine for me.

Yes, your ISP should handle it. As I said, your ISP actually has the ability to contact the node in question and inform them they are having issues. That is what your ISP is supposed to do. You pay them to access the internet. This is what they do. You aren’t paying Anet to access the internet…

here what mine looks like but it all looks normal to me

this must be a wide spread issue a lot of people are posting about massive ping spikes and really low fps. starting think it at Anets end server/client side

Your processor is your bottleneck. It’s nothing related to Anet or their client. Your processor is your issue.

My point wasn’t that it was all Anet.
It was that I could not play anymore due to the latency on NA server.
I just shown that EU is playable for me and that they should make arrangements for this kind of situations…

Don’t bother, this has been asked a thousand times already.
Myself and a lot of other players are having the same problem since quite some time, most of them just quit due to the fact it’s nearly impossible to play the game like this.

There hasn’t been any decent response from Anet so far on this. They think it’s still our own fault by having a bad internet connection :-/

Ellieanna, I have enough experience on the technical part to use trace routes and ping plotters to trace the issue.
And in my case it does show the major delay and latency in the connection starts when it reaches Anet servers.

I indicated it to Anet and showed them, that for me there is a major difference in latency between the NA and EU servers, but since they charge gems to change servers, I have to pay to get a stable game connection…

That’s what you said. You even said you traced it and showed it was at Anet’s server. What you posted clearly shows the opposite. If you want the EU ping switch to the EU server. Anet shouldn’t offer you a free transfer because the connection between you and them for NA is poor. They can’t “make arrangement” for these situations because they are a business. If it was something wrong with their server or ISP, I would agree with you, but in your case, it’s clearly the path your ISP chooses to send you on to Anet’s server. That’s between you, your ISP and the node having issues. You have options.

1) Pay to switch to EU.
2) Use a VPN (will change the path your connection takes to Anet’s server, which could by pass the node, there are pay and free ones. Free ones do have issues with spyware/etc so be wary of those.)
3) Talk to your ISP and tell them the issue, they can either tell the node to fix their stuff, or they can work with things to fix the problem.

Anet shouldn’t have to step in when it’s not even a problem they created or caused.

Can you download and run GPU-Z while the game is running, and post the picture (the first tab please). You can also run CPU-Z too if you think it’s a CPU Issue.

I would run a memtest on your memory first. It sounds like as much as you have 16 gigs, something is wrong with some of it.
