Reading reddit would really help with some of the questions raised in this thread.
I don’t think they really like the price of mystic coins because John has already said that he’s taking a look at themAlso, some players are quick to call it market manipulation whenever prices go up, that’s true, however, in this case there might be some manipulation mixed with an overall demand increase. Both John and Chris Cleary suspect that there could be something fishy going on like someone trying to corner the market.
[–]ChrisCleary 3 points 19 days ago
I’m up at 2AM almost everynight
Also, the market should start recovering shortly, I found the problem.
19 days ago Chris said things looked okay. So whatever they thought it was, he says he fixed it.
Once upon a time it was one coin per day from dailies. When Anet changed to the log-in rewards, coins dropped to 20/month. Those of us who think about these things (probably too much) realised that a 1/3 drop in supply for an item vital to crafting so many shinies meant the price could go only one way.
Which is why, after making Astralaria yesterday, I still have three stacks of coins in my bank, which I bought for 4-5 silver each an awfully long time ago….
Think I’ll hang on a bit longer, and hope to call the point at which Anet increases supply (and price falls off a cliff)
Wasn’kitten per daily + 10 for the monthly (WAY back in the day). Which is what, ~40/month? That’s closer to 1/2 a decrease if I’m remembering the numbers correctly. I remember the monthly gave something besides AP.
Were you using the same card for the 2nd purchase? Is it possible it didn’t have enough for the amount you wanted?
Many players own multiple accounts to get rich like an investment. It is much more effective than paying for gold over time once you own a few accounts. What’s more is that players sell their accounts cheaply often online when they quit GW2.
I have long argued against the free market of the TP and they way the limit player to player based trade. It takes the economic fun out of the game and some players with multiple accounts further ruin that fun for people. This is why I boycotted pve because it banned every creative way of making money to standardize it.
People like games where they can do something unique to move forward. GW2 overbalancing certain things creates a bland game where everyone has to use the same rout. It is closed minded. In fact I don’t mind them balancing get rich quick schemes I just wish they would only mix them up rather than ban them so players don’t feel they are being more limited every-time they play smart.
I can’t think of anything that is on the TP that is a MUST HAVE to the point where you can’t compete in the game.
Yes, farming mats/items takes time, but you can play the game and never have to buy anything. Also, isn’t the TP actually more economic? You can see what the current lowest sell price is and the highest buy order (so, current Lowest I’m willing to offer and highest I’m willing to pay). Isn’t that better then what someone could say in chat?
Also, it’s so nice not having the “WTB/WTS” spam in chat from players.
This is both a list of questions as well as a request. The questions first:
Does Anet monitor the amount of gold people have and make?
Does Anet think it’s fine if someone has 100k gold, buys up all perma items on the TP and puts them back up one by one for 2-3 times as much as they were before?
Will there ever be a top limit of gold one can own per account? And the request:
Something needs to be done about this. It’s so unbelievably sad that the economy in this game is just the same as in real life. The poor will always stay poor and the rich will forever get richer. Why is this allowed to happen? Why is there no system in place to keep things fairly priced?
I am not lazy. I am actually working hard for my gold in GW2 (which is sad in itself). But with this stuff going on it will be forever impossible for me (and 99% of players) to ever catch up. I can never make enough gold because I can only do it slowly and by the time I get close to buying what I want it gets bought up and relisted at 2 or 3 times the price.
From what I know from my very rich friend: He doesn’t have his gold in cash. If he does, he’s doing it wrong. You have so much of your gold in investments, or items you are selling on the TP.
Only time gated component I’m having issues with is the Wood one. And that’s not because I don’t have the wood. My issue is that I need so many for different things (oh nevermore, how badly I want thee, but 35 spirit planks is a lot for part 1).
Yeah, I could accept 1 pod for my home instance. I have so many keys for the other 3 maps that I have no issue using 1 each daily. Some days I don’t even enter DS, but I still grab that machette.
Or you can do what a normal adult would do and turn it back on.
Okay, that “normal adult” thing is kinda rude. You’re thinking of a “normal automaton” that is happy doing repetitive tasks. (No offense, farmers).
Normal adults realize that it is the program’s job to restore the Mini Pets once the all-clear whistle has blown. ANet has had regular problems doing that.
Mini Pet users have put up with a load of issues since the start. If they want to keep selling them (there’s the magic word!), then they shouldn’t alienate the consumer. One way or another, fix the problem.
Actually, a normal adult would realize that what is required to program it into the game is not a few lines of code or an easy fix, thus until they can work it into the code, the normal adult would turn their mini on.
See here, a mini pet follows you. Anet’s code has to react to your movements. Those Ambient creatures you want Anet to remove so you can keep your mini. They don’t follow you, they can have set paths and would barely use anything. Your mini pets location has to be constantly updated. Those ambients, they don’t.
One of your suggestions was for Anet to leave them on. Again, the lag when there is 50 people in an area + minis (say 20-30) the lag is horrendous. And this lag isn’t just what you see, it’s also putting a lot of pressure on the server. I’m fairly certain they would like to fix it, but unless you want to go in and program it for them and 100% positive that it will not break anything in the game (Hint: That’s not possible, that’s the nature of programming as well), then it will take time.
I remember when they were allowed in WvW that people would zerg v zerg with all mini pets on to lag out the server.
They can’t glide either. They also get “removed” from high populations such as WvW to reduce lag.
My bird Minis should be able to glide, you’d think. And I can understand if they can’t swim. Maybe a system like Ranger Animal Companions that lets you pre-select different Minis for underwater? But that’s WAAAAAAY down on their lists, I’m sure. I’m not asking for that.
I did address your “lag” concern in my first point. Get rid of the white non-important “set decoration” creatures if they really feel the need to remove something.
But I seriously doubt in this day and age that there is any lag problem on their servers due to Mini Pets. And any lag problems that we may have could be addressed individually by allowing us to cull other players’ Minis. Perhaps a multi choice checkbox? …
- Show All Mini Pets
- Hide other players’ Mini Pets
- Hide other players’ Mini Pets while in combat
The main problem is that they can’t seem to efficiently restore Mini Pets when they remove them. So I say don’t remove them at all as the simplest solution.
Or you can do what a normal adult would do and turn it back on. It’s not like they turned off your weapons. The minis you see aren’t just for you, it’s also server lag. Ambients work differently then minis for 1 simple thing: Minis have to follow you. Ambients just have roam paths.
Just so you know, some mini pets actually can’t swim. They are afraid of the water.
The answer: Hacked accounts cost Anet A LOT of time, effort, and money plus it adds a copy of every item the player had back into the game.
So no, they will never put in a “Never ask again.”. They want to protect their assets as well. You may not care that your account is open to being hacked, but Anet is trying to curb support tickets, and this is one of the easiest ways.
I realize this answer is not for everyone, nor is it a fix to the problem at hand, but:
If you don’t mind pvp/doing the dailies every day, do them. Every reward track gives clovers. They can add up after a while. I was sitting at 173 there for a bit, and I haven’t made any clovers since I made bifrost like 8 months into the game.
Again, I realize this doesn’t fix the mystic coin issue, nor is it an answer for everyone. But if you can get even half the clovers from PvP, imagine how many coins you saved.
I can see why they won’t let you craft it more then once (the whole point of the 4 parts was that it would be expensive). Being able to craft just the last step would flood the market.
But yes, send in a ticket and see what they say.
One of the guilds I’m in, a person made a ton (like 1000s I would say) of the SAB clouds and proceeded to make a jumping puzzle throughout the guild hall.
I would say that is pretty creative. Even has little purple arrows from the waypoint to the start of the puzzle to lead people in.
As long as it is daily based don’t bother fixing.
Fixremove the timegates instead. Those should have never ever happened in the first place along with diminishing returns.I really liked the new chest, and I’m not happy that it has been disabled and also shocked if it was indeed once a day.
The thing is, it wasn’t daily for people who found the loop hole. It really was supposed to be 1 box per zone per day. People found ways to get more then 1.
Because mastery points are pretty detailed, I’ll just link this
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery#Mastery_points
It explains everything, and has links to understand what will help you earn mastery points for the 2 different areas (Core Tyria and HoT zones).
Short Version: In your Hero panel under Achievements: All of those Green symbols are HoT mastery points you can earn, Red is Core Tyria. Clicking on any drop down menu will show you what you have to do (explain: HoT Act 1 story, doing it once, gives X mastery points).
The bar at the bottom of the screen shows what the experience is at for your mastery point you are working on.
Hero panel – Masteries: Shows you the options available. (Suggestion, get into a HoT zone and earn gliding 1 ASAP)
Otherwise the wiki should be able to explain every really.
Well considering right now there are no exclusive PvP skins (sorry, the PvP legendary Backpack is actually an item, you said skins!).
In my eyes it is a unique skin, just as the Fractal Legendary Backpack is a unique skin. To me this isn’t about being a special snowflake; I’ve done 100% map completion twice in GW2. Not done it more than twice in my 9 months of playing because I simply haven’t wanted to or seen the point given I’m not actively making legendary weapons and have a decent amount of transmutation charges. However, despite not having full map comp on all my characters, the majority of them have most waypoints unlocked from levelling.
In GW1 I did Legendary Cartographer without TexMod on my first attempt (guild leader bet me I couldn’t), used it on my subsequent mapping and didn’t deride those who used it.
To me, map completion has already been simplified in this franchise as has fast travel. Do we really need to make it even easier? If an item to unlock WPs was added for purchase without people getting nerfed/no map completion rewards, you’re looking at pay to win. Can we please not send this game further in that direction a lá Nexon? Just to clarify, I’m fine with the select waypoints unlocked with the Lv 80 boost as they make sense and it’s a one time thing per account.
My thought is that someone who gets these WPs might then even go and run around the map, giving the old maps more action. If Anet decides they want to go this route, I would be against it, and might even start on world completion on more characters again. Every time I think about it, I remember Lornar’s pass and I cry.
And you’re welcome to keep bringing up GW1, but to me, GW1 is a different game, and from a different era. In this era, we have GW2, and this way. You’re almost going the “But when I was young, we had to walk to school in the snow” comments. Why does a different game’s concept have to be brought into GW2. Doesn’t matter if one is the descendant of the other. They are separate games. GW2 is not a DLC of GW1.
Nice instead of reposting that one short sentence here you link to a 3rd party page
Considering how many times this question keeps getting asked, my bet is that he has this one bookmarked and a copy/paste is faster.
Cleared whole pc + went from W7 to windows 10

My bet: Windows 10 did what Window 10 does best (read: worst) and automatically controlled all your drivers. Drivers and Windows 10 are… a good amount of the time a hit or miss if it works well or not. (One of the reasons I’m staying with 7 for now).
Best is you can go in and pick different drivers until it’s back to what it was.
All I have seen in this thread is “Well I did it (x) times, so everyone can do it.” and comparing map completion (which doesn’t affect anyone else but the player in question) to things that are even TP based. (Wardrobe unlocks, pvp rewards). And if you really want to say that all the mats/items the person could get from doing map completion with free WPs would destroy the market… Do you really think someone who hates map completion this much, and is only doing it for the gift of exploration for legendaries is going to spend the time doing it over and over for mats?
If someone wants access to the WPs after they already did full map completion, let them. It’s not going to harm you in anyway. Is really having any/all of the WPs on a map on a new map completion character really going to change things for you?
Though, I have no idea why all of you are arguing. Anet would never put this in.
So does this mean you support being able to buy pvp skins because I don’t want to pvp anymore. And I have done my share of hours there repeating the same thing over and over. Why is someones wish to have all wp unlocked more important than the desire to have any portion of the game unlocked for others? I haven’t said how many times I’ve done map completion and so far it’s more than double the highest amount posted in this thread. I don’t begrudge anyone who would be able to buy map completion. What I dislike is someone wanting it and the rewards that go with it. No it wont affect me at all if they did this, but then neither would letting me buy pvp skins through gem store affect anyone else.
For the record I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if Anet put this option to buy ones way through the game in the gem store.
Well considering right now there are no exclusive PvP skins (sorry, the PvP legendary Backpack is actually an item, you said skins!). And just so you know. I have all the original PvP skins that were removed from the game. I am completely okay with them coming back so others can get it. I am not a special snowflake. If someone wants to pay money, go for it. It will not affect my game. It’s a skin. And it would support Anet… which we all should want.
All I have seen in this thread is “Well I did it (x) times, so everyone can do it.” and comparing map completion (which doesn’t affect anyone else but the player in question) to things that are even TP based. So you support Anet adding a permanent consumable that provides 100% movement speed on open world PvE maps? After all, it won’t affect anyone else so why should anyone against it care?
Why not? It’s PvE, and there are WPs. Why do you care so much? Why are you so against it? Would I buy it, doubt it, being unable to work tends to do that. Would I be jealous if someone could run faster? Sure. Would I be salty and rage at Anet? No. I’d play my game.
When you say to “hide the hearts” what does that mean, exactly? That you don’t see them? That they no longer count towards map completion?
Well you please stop quoting a post and not posting anything, it’s literally bumping the thread and is against the rules. It’s also making your thread look more popular then it is. I already reported 1 post, but you really should stop. It’s against the forum rules.
In my experience the weapons/armor from these chests are account bound by default…
No, they are very much soulbound.
You don’t need to level crafting to 400 to PvE. You can earn gear a numerous amount of ways. Dungeons, doing events for items to sell and buying the gear off the TP, anything you can sell for TP.
You don’t HAVE to craft for your gear.
X T DI know, but since your are limited in how many shared inventory slots you can have, I think a separate set of slots where you equip tools would be nice.
I would like that, too. I tried putting my endless tools in the shared slots, but I was forever forgetting to swap them out before changing characters. Then I had to remember who had them last. Bother. I gave up.
I only have 1 extra mining tool. Everyone else buys the disposables, and I have 17 toons on my main account (FYI).
That does sound like an inconvenient way to go, plus with the limited shared inventory slots we can have, it would bring you down to 7 assuming you buy the max allowed.
*8 if you own HoT (remember, hot is given a free one now)
I’d like to see the infinite gathering tools converted into a single set of unlimited gathering tool items and a gathering tool skin
e.g.
Unlimited Harvesting Sickle
Unlimited Mining Pick
Unlimited Logging AxeFused Molten Sickle Skin
Tireless Harvesting Minion Skin
.. and so onThey could then sell the Unlimited tools in the Gem Store for one price, and the skins for another.
Only issue with this is the sprocket pick. It doesn’t fall under the normal mining pick status. So is it seperate that it won’t have a skin, or do I lose my sprockets.
I refuse to give up my sprockets. Otherwise, I support the tool skins.

There was a time where it did cost money. And it is worth it. Otherwise people who just keep dying and rezzing for something instead of trying.
And WvW most certainly needs it.
It’s your CPU having an issue. GW2 is a CPU heavy game. All games you listed are not CPU heavy which is why they aren’t causing it.
Now it might not be a physical issue. It could be a driver issue, or that you need an OS update. It also could be that your CPU is overclocked and not getting enough power.
Oh, support didn’t want you to post here. They wanted you to post in the bug section. Though you would be the first person who would have had that happen to.
No, it’s a first come, first serve if/when it becomes available. But since it is due to WvW population now, that won’t change very often. You could check daily (mostly a waste a time) or weekly to see if there is room.
Edit: If you are just wanting to PvE with your friends, all servers are the same for PvE. Doesn’t matter which one everyone is from. Servers only matter for WvW access.
At launch they were a separate activity, with separate chests and achievements.
3 were needed for World completion, although Josh Foreman said that the original intention was to not need any JPs for world complete. Somehow that changed. Then they were needed for LS, for story achievements, for crafting, collections, lots of content unrelated to JPs put behind them. All of the Zephyr event was jumping/platforming. Then Dry top got a jumping gate on it. More content put behind JPs with each Chapter, then pretty much an entire expansion of platforming.
And now specific JP PvE dailies, when JPs should be in the Activity category. There should have always been a JP in daily “activities” anyway. That is what they should be. No loss to people who like them.
Unrelenting. I stand by that.
I get my dailies in WvW. They are WvW content. I was not asking how to get dailies done. I don’t go to WvW just to get dailies done, even. They happen while I’m playing a part of the game I enjoy and would do anyway. Unheard of, I know. Frightening concept, even.
JPs were originally a sideshow, and should have remained one, not mainstreamed as much as they have been. In my opinion.
And just because you hate them doesn’t mean everyone does. Some people love doing JPs all the time. Now they can.
You have 12 choices for dailies. Not being able to do 1 isn’t the end of the world. And if it is to you, you can suck it up and go do the JP. And yes, that is supposed to be harsh. There was a time when they were just nothing, and those people who absolutely adored them really got nothing out of it. Now, they can.
I did manage to solve the problem by just purchasing the HoT key. So I still manage to log with all my characters still intact. Oh I did not know gems are available from retailers too, thanks ^^
Depends on the country. The country I’m in does not have gem cards in store. If your country has a currency type on the gem store, then there is a better chance you’ll have retailers with gem cards.
They won’t do it. But I do have a question for the OP:
What is considered inactive?
To me, the only account that can be considered inactive is ones where the players had Anet refund something on it and were closed.
I personally don’t consider banned accounts inactive. Those names should stay locked.
Your math is wrong.
free boost lv80 given armors and weapons gone
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Ellieanna.5027
yes, the main character is lvl80 which opened the boost, and the lion key run is different character at most lvl12 after finish, the mentioned character deletion is the lvl12 lion key run character.
So i take that the given gears from free boost lv80 does not have limited life span, and submited the ticket, ty.
The point was, they were soulbound armor, meaning you couldn’t move them to the key run character. The only character that can touch the armor is your level 80 you opened the boost with.
Well, why don’t you try the 64 bit client, seeing as it’s an OOM issue that is because 32 bit client is limited (the nature of how 32 bit goes).
You have a 64 bit OS already, and the download for it is really easy.
You can block and report. And Anet will get to them. Technically, your legal action is going to cost you more money and time then you could even think about it, and most likely you’ll have a hard time finding a lawyer taking the case.
Your other option is to get over yourself. It’s not destroying your personal propery. It’s a nuicence. Block and report. It’s an MMO, I haven’t been on an mmo in like 10 years that hasn’t had gold sellers. It’s the ugly side of the industry. And really, the people who are making it worse are the ones who use the service.
High Ping Spikes for NA Servers on East Coast

If you looked at the picture posted above your post, it very clearly shows where that person’s lag issue is…. Level 3 in Dallas.
Going to cut up your tinfoil hat and destroy it with these simple words: Level 3 isn’t owned by Anet nor their ISP. It’s an issue with the general internet, not Anet.

East Coast (Comcast) still getting clobbered:
Level 3 is your issue. Nothing to do with Anet or Gw2
Because not every class uses every weapon? Where as every class as their armor weight in boots.
It would be worse if you were someone who couldn’t use harpoon gun, and kept getting harpoon guns.
I was wondering if anyone else would want this, or am I just being a lazy girl.
I would like those “Your post has been moved” messaging the forum moderators send to have an automatic deletion timer on them. Deleting messages from the mailbox seems to have a lot of clicking, and you can’t actually go in and mass delete. Some days I can get 10-12 of those.
Just wondering, would any else also wish that those messages automatically deleted themselves after a certain timer?
Because gold sellers could open an account (with a stolen card), use that account to transfer all of their gold sales from, and then have it closed if the restrictions were so short.
It really is there to combat gold sales. Most new accounts will never need to worry about transferring gold back when they are new. Most new accounts will want to hold onto any gold they get for everything in the game.
Considering GW2 is a CPU based game, and not GPU, if your CPU is already maxing out, upgrading your video card might not give you better performance.
Lool people talking like if they knew me. And yet they fail to see a warrior, and some other professions, can be much more tanky than me while being more lethal that I could ever imagine regardless the build or stat combination I run.
Fine, you want to go that route, lets go that route.
Your picture of your states shows us nothing, Doesn’t your build, or what armor runs you are running. All it shows is your pretty attire, and that he had some good crits on you (which, they are a chance hit, those same attacks could have been under RNG and not crit).
Also it doesn’t show what food/oils you were running, nor did you mention if he had any or did. You also don’t even say what weapons you are using. For all we know, you are using the weakest weapons for a mesmer and not swapping.
So if you want to really get into the “NOOOO MUH Balance!” conversation AND have people agree with you, you need to bring more then 2 attacks from a warrior.
It would be impossible to give recommended specs.
Why?
A PvP only player would have different recommended specs then someone who does mega events like Teq.
A core-only account would also need different recommended specs because HoT zones are more detailed then core tyria.
WvW players would need different recommended specs because WvW has a lot going on, that is very different then HoT zones or PvP areas.
And about it being optimized: What they see on the test servers will be different then the live servers. It’s impossible to test everything and even if they magically did, sometimes live servers just eat something differently then the test servers. So even if they spent another month on content, sometimes something will still cause lag issues or other issues.
Finally: Sometimes they have to put out a patch, that is to keep up with a Windows update to ensure their game still runs okay. Sometimes that windows update is actually the issue.
I don’t want to even go in and touch the mac client in this conversation because that is another whole can of worms.
TLDR: Have a baseline recommended spec for computers in an even changing mmo is really hard. I would rather they spend the time they would have to spend to figure out what runs the best, and such on other things.
Can we have other metal nodes than Mithril in 80 areas?
It’s as inconvenient as it’s just plain silly that Mithril is the most common metal in the entire game… It drops from all the Heavy trash you find. And all the areas that are filled with players have only Mithril nodes. It’s becoming a weed in this sense…
The current state of metal nodes also encourages farming as it’s only way to acquire large amounts of other metal types.
Fix it! Thanks!
Well, considering it drops from level 80 gear, and is located in level 80 areas….
Oh right, it is a level 80 material. Which, most people are. Of course there are going to be common drops for it. If you really need to find some want to dispose of it, find wvw guilds on your server, they like it for their siege. Or collection 250 and sell it for 2g.
If you want iron, and platinum, you know what zones those are in, and are welcome to go there for them.
And basically, you described farming. Nodes are just that, farming nodes. What else do you do besides go up and farm the node? o.O
Call your ISP. If it’s not your personal connection, it’s a node between you and Anet, which is still outside of their control. Run Ping plotter to the IP you are getting the high ping on, and save it so you can show your ISP where the issue is, and hope they will contact the company with the problem.
And to anyone who thinks it’s just Anet passing off on it. They can’t contact their ISP every time a player has a node issue, who then will contact the person. The ISP needs information about when it happens, if the person hits that node a lot, time of day, ETC. Anet can’t talk on a players behalf about it. The player needs to deal with it. Otherwise it will never get fixed, and eventually other things will start to hit that node and have issues.
I would ask you read my post again. Anet can’t “check their side” because their need your IP address and run it from your house to their server, and they need to see the issue. Which is impossible for them to check every single person’s issue with the game.
So please re-read what I wrote and do it.
Yeah, it shouldn’t be. But things happen, people are human and will make mistakes.
If they do ban either of you, just politely send in a ticket, explain what happened, and they will fix it. They are really good at correcting their mistakes.
