I rebooted my router and restarted the game, and it seems to be working again. Very strange as the rest of the game was working fine.

I cannot buy, sell, or see my list of items for sale. The trade screens do not show my cash on hand either. GW2Spidy is still showing listing data so it seems like the problem is local to me. Is anyone else working or NOT working?
None of my characters can buy or sell or list items for sale. It was working like 15 minutes ago, but now it’s like my account has no gold anymore. Other vendors work fine.
Cant even sell things now, just get an error. If you don’t get an error, you can see your cash on hand go down by the listing fee, so you know the sale went through, it’s just not ever giving the OK. I don’t think anyone’s stuff is being lost, it’s just failing when trying to report success.
The TP is a common instance that all servers share so this should be affecting all servers.
Took me many attempts just to see what I had for sale. Is there server maintenance going on?
I play WvW a few hours a night a few days a week, and in less than two months I have two Gift of Battles, and 1000 Badges of Honor. I suck at PvP, and if I can do this, anyone can. I have only done the JPs a few times.
Yes, this is an MMO, and ArenaNet has done a WONDERFUL job in GW2 fostering player cooperation implicitly with the dynamic events and other open world ’quest’s like Skill Points and the karma hearts, and even WvW. They have not solved that for the instanced events. They did build a grouping mechanism for PvP, but not for dungeons.
Why? Maybe because people want to do dungeons with people they know more often than not. Once you are familiar and comfortable with a dungeon, grouping with randoms is not a problem if they also familiar and comfortable with it. The problem is that there is always a first time and also dungeons require a much higher skill level than the open world.
If I am with my friends, and/or in a voip channel with people I know, learning is not so stressful. Doing that with strangers is a huge turn off because you often end up with people looking to run through the whole thing assuming you know how. The net is that strangers plus stress is NOT a winning combination, and putting 5 man dungeons at the end of a personal story line is not consistent nor a good idea.
I personally have dragged my feet on this dungeon as I have done a number of the other dungeons, but not looking forward to that stress/stranger combo. My guild of personal friends can only come up with 3 players online at any one time, one of which is on vacation for 10 days. I will have to either force myself into it this weekend, assuming I can actually find a group, or leave it as an unchecked box on the achievements panel.
This story has rolled out over months, with tiny amounts of content for the majority of it, and then we only get twelve days for the last part???
My friend goes on vacation tomorrow and returns the 12th. I am sure others are in the same boat. Why put all this work into it and then have it only available for 12 days?
I think a month is the minimum anything should be around, giving players time to get to it at their leisure. SAB seemed to hit the mark all the way around, lets learn from that.
I also considered rebooting thinking my sound card was fragged. I hope it goes back soon as the normal music still thrills me.
NSP beat the tar out of us (HoD) in EB for many hours last night with huge zergs while GoM piled on as well. We where almost down to only our keep. I had to repair my armor so many times I was almost broke. Then they just evaporated (mostly) for some reason. Maybe they decided to beat on GoM for a change or just went to bed. We took back our side of EB and GoM did the same.
NSP was so strong we had to focus on the greater threat. If we leave GoM alone so as to have only one front for a while, I wouldn’t call that evil. I am not a commander, nor privy to their exchanges, but in the last couple nights I know we have cooperated with whoever was NOT the owner of that keep to help take it, but not hold it. On two consecutive nights we both helped NSP push GoM out of it, and helped GoM push NSP out of it. We also failed the attempt most of the times we tried because it was so well defended.
NSP cannot complain about this because they did the EXACT SAME THING the night before to GoM. I have seen two colors split the enemies BL on many occasions as well. It’s simple tactics, take what is easiest and don’t overreach, or you will just end up on the wrong end of a double team.
Once we had GoM or NSP pushed out of EB we broke out the party boxes and goofed off for a while. What’s wrong with that? NSP wasn’t locked in, they could take either side exit en mass and start attacking if they wanted to. The siege we setup was just for kicks, as it could not hurt any of the NSP standing there. We definitely had people itching to attack GoM, but the commanders asked them to hold off as we where in a good position. Clearly there was some temporary deal made, and honoring that allows for future negotiations. You cannot attack everyone everywhere all the time. Being smart about where to draw the line is not evil.
I crashed four times last night during an insane and epic raid on a keep that lasted a few hours. I also crashed sitting at the hunstmen stand the night before, but it was in WvW. Send in plenty of bug crash reports last night.
You got a handle on this issue yet ANet?
I don’t understand why people are complaining. I found the new WvW incredibly smooth last night from the moment I logged in and got through the queue. I saw ridiculously huge enemy and friendly zergs and never encountered skill lock in the biggest of battles.
I also now have levels/achievements/buffs to show some progress for any time I spend in WvW. The per character levels/buffs I think was also a good idea.
We complain because we want to be rewarded for trying to win the match not just capping everything in a never ending 3 way zerg go round
I think you quoted the wrong post but in any case I don’t see how any of the features the patch added changes how hard or easy it is to cap or defend anything.
If you upgrade your structures and place and man siege correctly, you can hold off greater forces and rack up a lot of badges in the process. I have seen it done many times before and after the patch.
Prepatch a 2:1 advantage was defensible inside a defensive structure with siege.
Postpatch a 2:1 advantage is not defensible inside a defensive structure with siege.
Everything drops too fast with a 100 man melee mash 1 button mob.
Defensive structures need to be stronger, wxp reward less with increased numbers and – radical suggestion here – all ‘1’ auto atacks should hit 1 target only to reduce the impact of the ‘charge and mash 1’ tactic.
Are you sure your not comparing apples and oranges? True zerg size was completely hidden before the patch, and populations seemed WAY higher last night than normal. Was it maybe 40 attacking 20 in the first example and 100 attacking 50 in the second? Players can only affect 5 enemies with AoE and that was not changed with the patch. With that many enemies it’s much harder to concentrate fire as well.
From the patch notes what else changed in defense besides catapults hitting rams through doors? I was in many zerg sieges last night and I did not notice any difference in ease of offense or defense.

What insult? I did not call you any names or anything. I assumed you were new to the game due to your vastly ignorant description on what could have happened, ok so you aren’t new to the game but you are new to wvw and know nothing about thieves and mesmers, same thing. I didn’t even call you a noob or anything like that.
I simply stated that if you lack any sort of knowledge on a current topic, you should keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. I by the way was insulted that you tried to explain away what I seen with my own (informed, experienced) eyes away as some NPC glitch as if this was my first day playing the game and I had no idea what I was talking about.
What happend has been explained and is a quite feasible scenario, unlike your description, but you seem to be getting upset and insulted over nothing. Calm down son.
“Shut up idiot” is not an insult? I am not “worthy” of participating in the forum with you? Sounds like an insult to me. I didn’t get exited, I just pointed out your attitude.
Calling me son? There you go again trying to show your superiority. Try pretending your words are coming from someone else to you, maybe then you will get it.
Dear HoD commander,
Whatcha doing on that wall ?
Gate closed , walls up. U got fly skillz ?
I have the same screenshot but I didn’t really notice he was one of their commander. I have reported him and I can post more screenshot if needed. I was impressed by HoD morning push lately but it lost lots of credibility with this commander Hacker.
On a more positive note this is a great screenshot of my adorable back pack!
Have you ever heard of hiding? Last night we took our Garrison back from GoM I think it was because one sneaky mesmer commander hid inside the walls until about a dozen of us came up outside and he jumped out and used a portal to sneak us in.
No hacks, no cheats, just heads up play when the garrison was being taken.First of all it was a t3 tower, there is no way he was hiding in it that long. Secondly I had just attacked the same thief down on the ground outside the tower not 1 minute before that.
What it a mesmer or a thief? I personally have seen mesmer clones appear right in front of me on tower walls and the first time it happened I thought the real player had somehow jumped up, but when I killed it I realized it was a clone.
Don’t thieves also get a form of clone? I think they do and if so, I find it easy to imagine that they are bugged in the same way and can hop up on the tower. Did you kill him? Was there a corpse on the wall? If so, THEN you have evidence, otherwise it’s just an NPC glitch we are talking about.
Yes it was a thief, I know who the player is I see him all the time. I had just attacked the very same guy down on the ground moments before, then I ran into the tower up on the wall. Then I was getting daggerstormed while up on the wall which I thought was quite weird until I seen the thief. We then downed him and spiked him.
No thieves don’t get ‘clones’ they get thieves guild, and the thieves from it don’t look anything like the player. No thieves guild cannot appear on walls. The picture Moutz posted is of a DOWNED PLAYER WITH A COMMANDER ICON, that is plenty of “evidence”.
I get that you are probably knew to the game, but you should just keep your mouth shut if you don’t know what the heck you are talking about.
You should be less of a jerk. I was trying to offer reasonable explanations of what was NOT a hack but a glitch. Turns out he was glitched through the gate. I am NOT new to the game, been playing since beta. I have four fully developed characters, but no thief or mesmer. Only recently have I started getting into WvW. I stayed away because I don’t like having to deal with jerks like you who think they are so leet they need to bash others to prove it.
If your explanation wasn’t so laughable I’m guessing he wouldn’t have replied like that.
So it’s MY fault HE decided to throw in that last line of insult? I clearly indicated I was not sure of my explanation, which he then clarified, and that alone would have been fine. You had to stoop again to the same juvenile level and throw an insult just to make yourself feel superior. Does that make you feel good?
If someone says or does something stupid you can just ignore it or even better share some of your wisdom. That is what’s supposed to feel good. Throwing insults just makes YOU look bad unless someone is already throwing them at you. And yes you can still choose to ignore them as well.

^^^ THIS. My Engineer is configured wonderfully to pepper the walls with grenades or shower them on enemies trying to take my tower, but dies horribly when caught alone. It’s also great while zerging, steam rolling enemies with AoE.
I had never seen this before until last night. It does seem to be getting worse. I was in huge WvW zerg battles this weekend and did not notice this, but last night we had a couple of zerg battles in the center of Stonemist, and everyone on our team was unable to use any skills. The other zerg seemed to have no such problems as their AoE was decimating us while we could not even heal.
Could someone from ANet PLEASE tell us what we are SUPPOSED to be doing to get the maximum or NOT NERFED rewards for our time???
All I see is a long list of doing to much of something means you are wasting your time.
This DR system was built to prevent ‘exploiters’, but has really just made playing the game a huge waste of time for all the rest of us who really have nothing else to do for end game content other than farm SOMETHING to get closer to attaining a legendary weapon.
I park characters in Orr to farm the T6 nodes every day and save on portal costs, but apparently that is exploiting as sparks have seemed to stop dropping lodestones since I started doing this. I do my dailies every day with another character, but that does not seem to reset DR.
WHY DO I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT DR???
I play a few hours a day and have never had a total of 20 gold in my account, yet I am being punished. Why? Doesn’t this seem BROKEN?
On my server, Temple of Dwayna (I think that’s the right one) is uncontested pretty often since the latest updates it seems, so farming them has not been a problem, but the drop rate has. I have spent 15-30+ minutes half a dozen times at least and have not gotten even one Charged Lodestone. Before this I had manged to get seven with about 12 or so hours of farming.
I have been doing MORE events lately but it seems to have made DR worse for some reason for me anyway. Back when I was getting a lodestone drop for every hour or two I also used to get nice drops from the sparks, but not so much lately.
They say we shouldn’t have to farm, but yet they make farming crazy tedious which makes no sense. If farming was easier, prices would drop, and we could afford to buy the lodestones instead of the endless grind, or go out and get our own if we preferred that.
Why is it that Ascended Amulets, which give better stats AND can come with a utility infusion are 30 Laurels, but rings are 35 for lower stats, and now accessories are 40 PLUS 50 ectoplasm for even lower stats?
I just don’t understand this. What am I missing?
This may not be related, but EVERY time I have done the personal story where the bomb maker dies fixing the bomb under the ship, the frame rate is noticeably bad when you first start before going into the water.
Can we please have a saved searches at the trading post? Every time you hit the ‘buy’ tab, it reset back to the top page. I am constantly searching for sigils, or crafting components, and having to type in a search string and filters every time is annoying.
I would like to be able to setup a handful of searches I seem to use a lot.
I swear I saw a spark for a pet in WvW last night, was I imaging things? I am sure it was called Blah Invader Beast.
Other than specialty recipes only available from RNG, why is there demand for crafted exotics, other than to throw in the Mystic Toilet? If I need an exotic, I craft it (once I have acquired the materials somehow). Are there really that many players who do not bother to level up their crafting?
I would like a full set of exotic weapons for all of my characters, but I just don’t have the money/ectos.
That’s really RNG driven. If your lucky enough to get a rare recipe drop or even a precursor, your rich. If only there where precursor recipes…
Crafting is a way to be mostly self-sufficient in that you can craft rather than buy gear or have to wait for just the right drops. It is a form of leveling, something to complete, and I did actually enjoy that, and figuring out a strategy for having my first three characters craft everything I needed gear wise. I did have to buy more special crafting items than I liked as the drop rates where not high enough to keep up with the leveling. If the XP requirements for leveling where higher, I could have got the materials I needed eventually without having to buy them. The flip side to that I did experience as well as sometimes my crafting would get ahead of my level.
That being said I do wish that crafting would let you learn how to craft different skins, as the standards are not very good. The stupid pearl weapons are just plain ugly and I find myself transmuting to much lower level skins until I can earn dungeon tokens for those skins.
I really don’t see how everyone can be expecting to craft for profit when someone will just craft their own rather than hand you money. Now if there where many unique crafting skin recipes that where hard to obtain, then there would be a way to make a profit, but again, anything you can attain, someone else will also, and competition will drive the prices down.
The primary question is how does the current in game messaging work? Something funky is going on.
Whenever I try and /join those groups I get no response. Not even the join pending icon.
My LA chat on HoD server is often a ghost town. I tried guesting in SoS this weekend and my LFGs went unanswered there as well. I also saw no other LFG’s coming in. A while later a GLF1M came in which I whispered to, and was added to a party. All of the people in that party where on yet another server.
Why does LA chat seem like a ghost town, but the occasional GLF comes through from other servers? I would think if chat in LA is broadcast to all servers then I would see a lot more messages coming in, but it’s mostly a ghost town. What is going on?
Trying to get my 5 dungeon runs in for my monthly has been very difficult due to LFG issues. What is the plan for fixing this ANet?
When I read about the reset last week I was quite happy, though I did not take the time to express it here… Now that the reset has been canceled I’m fairly frustrated.
Ever since the guilds responsible for our current rating bailed from Isle of Janthir we have been sitting with an artificially high rating and have been steamrolled week after week. It is not fun.
Additionally, Isle of Janthir has not been the red team since mid-December so people like me have been sitting at 99% world completion for over 6 weeks because it is impossible to get the POIs and vistas inside the Red team forts when our server is having a difficult enough time capturing towers and forts inside our own borderland… As a guild leader I had no desire to switch servers, and I especially now have no desire now to pay for a transfer just to get the 100% world completion…
I don’t know, perhaps not resetting the ratings was the right decision, but I can’t help but be frustrated with the current situation.
Looking at last weeks scoring, you should turn red pretty soon. We however in HoD have been stuck at red for weeks on end (except for a brief stint at blue). We have no hope of ever turning green because we are WAY above Tier 8 scores, and Darkhaven is WAY to strong during all hours of the day to compete against. The best we can do is struggle in a holding pattern.
Putting world completion behind enemy lines was a totally BAD idea. If the colors where RANDOM each week, then we could sooner or later get our points of interest and vistas.
Rares aren’t rare, Exotics aren’t rare, Ascended won’t be rare, as all players are expected to get them eventually, the only difference is how hard they are to get and their stats. Some exotics do have a nicer skin with varying ‘costs’.
Legendary is only a ‘rare’ skin at this point. I have read they are ‘supposed’ to evolve with game expansions, so THAT is real value. It is NOT really an achievement since acquiring it ‘naturally’ is PURE LUCK. The LUCKY then get rich because they have won the precursor lottery.
If your running around Lion’s Arch with a Legendary, your either lucky, a ‘flipper’, or have done a lot of ‘grind’ to buy one from the lucky or the flippers. Are you Elite, NO, you have just spent a LOT more time stockpiling gold somehow.
All we are asking is make acquiring a precursor REASONABLE and not solely based on luck. The other parts take PLENTY of work so no need to make it near impossible to get a precursor.
But Laurels are a very limited item that I would think should be reserved for Ascended gear for all of your Alts shouldn’t they?
(edited by Elric Of Melnibone.4781)
The problem is it’s NOT about work it’s about luck. Well, luck and achievement. The completion requirements for the ingredients are fine, it’s the Mystic Toilet that’s the problem. How many players have poured how much gold down it with nothing to show for it? Seems like the perfect way to turn someone off from the game.
From what I have read, wine will upconvert anything, but the cost is not worth it. Charged lodestones remain out of reach for the casual player.
well anything that uses many charged lodestones shouldn’t be in reach of the casual player.
That’s bull kitten. It may take me much longer to level up a character, explore the world, tour the dungeons, etc…, but attaining any one ingredient should not be as hard as it is. RNG should NOT decide who get’s a Legendary.
Precursors would like to have a word with you…
See my rants on the other thread about Precursor Elitism ;-}
Legendary weapons are promised to ‘evolve’ with the game so if you do all that work, it’s not wasted. THAT should be the main reason for wanting a Legendary, although the bling factor is just as important to me. Prestige is really just a nice to have. That being said I want to work for it to feel better about that prestige. I will value it more if it was hard to acquire.
I DO NOT however want to grind mindlessly for years to get one. That is bull kitten.
Clovers are account bound, why not make precursor as well (IF THERE IS A REASONABLE WAY TO GET ONE). You should not be able to just buy a Legendary.
You have to earn many of the gifts, why can’t we earn a precursor? You can earn one. You buy one.
Buying is not earning. I do not think the market players and manipulators should control who get’s a Legendary.
Buying is not earning? Only if you bought your gold with your mom’s credit card. Look, right now there is really no skill involved in getting a legendary (and please, beating a 5-man easy-peasy dungeon is not skill). In fact, I’d say there’s more skill and thinking involved in TP flipping than in PvE grinding. Grinding, now that is something any monkey can do. Hey, bots can, see?
Gold is so easy to come by in this game, it’s not even funny. There are so many things you can do besides just grinding ‘till your fingers bleed to get gold. Just accept that it will take you several months of smart playing to get enough resources to get a legendary, and if that doesn’t suit you, wait until ANet rolls out that scavenger hunt (though I wouldn’t bet on the system being that much different from the current one).
Five hundred gold for a precursor is ridiculous. I buy and sell all the time when the prices are reasonable. This is NOT the case for Precursors and Lodestones. If something is not done then these prices will continue to rise and saving will be pointless.
The most any of my characters has had is like 10 gold as getting all the gear up to exotic is quite expensive. Crafting 12 Mystic Clovers chewed up my main characters funds just recently.
It may be ridiculous to you, but there are people out there willing to pay more than you. There is no reason why a seller should sell to you when someone is paying 200g more.
The price is so high because the supply is to low because of RIDICULOUS RNG. Standing around dumping tons of gold into the Mystic Toilet is NOT EARNING a Legendary. It’s a freaking lottery and the winners are instant millionaires. Legendary should NOT mean only 1% of the population gets one. Just because more people want a Legendary shouldn’t mean they all have to keep working harder.
If the Precursor procurement method yielded an Account Bound item, no more Mystic Millionaires.

Lodestones and precursor are the two ridiculously hard to get ingredients needed to craft a Legendary weapon. These weapons are supposed to represent a great achievement in the game. The problem is the only way to get one is to get lucky or play the market. This is supposed to be a role playing game, not a financial game.
Are those people who are fortunate enough to be running around with a Legendary really great achievers? Or are they market manipulators? Or really lucky kittens?
If charged lodestones where say 50 silver, that’s 50 gold for part of a Legendary, and if the precursors where 50 gold as well, that would be a total of maybe 150 gold for everything needed. That would be a reasonable amount of gold to accumulate doing ‘normal’ game play, but instead it’s more like 1500 gold for a Legendary.
The big gripe is being at the mercy of the RNG, which is COMPOUNDED by Diminished Returns, which is what REALLY ticks me off.
Why make something REALLY hard to get AND THEN PUNISH US FOR TRYING ALL DAY LONG TO GET IT!!! I think I have spent like 6 hours now farming sparks and have ONE lousy Charged Lodestone.
I know the next response, “Go run CoE”! Well guess what, Lion’s Arch is a ghost town. WHERE IS THE LFG system we need to form a dungeon party? I can either be out in the world earning gold to buy from the lucky people, or I can stand around in Lion’s Arch looking for a group, wasting hours accomplishing nothing.
40 tries, 12 Clovers, 3 Destroyer Lodestones.
Seems to me that infusable rings and amulets are the best use of Laurels, until all your chars have a full set, why waste Laurels on harvesting tools?
