Once i pulled one player in ranked pvp and it catapulted him high in air and he died from fall dmg (he had full health). Esports.

The only way to bring back condi engi/scrapper is reduce shield CDs to make them similar to other profesion blocks/reflects.
Warrior block 30s (24s if traited)
Mesmer block 30s (24 if traited)
Scrapper Hammer block 20s, reflect 6s
Engi Shield block 40s (32 if traited), reflect 30s (24 if traited)That CD are too bigs in comparision with other similar skills. So, till that issue is solved, condi engi will not be reliable in Pvp or WvW (it could be playable against some profesion but not enough consistent)
Dont forget also duration of “blocks”, specially shield 5 is supper short.
Beside its not just shield that is the problem here. If you take shield your weapon will do ZERO dmg. And you will have to compensate with utility spells and lots of traits. The good thing about hammer is you get similar defensive options (better?) and huge damage on its own, that you dont have to put any traits into it. Meaning you can put all traits/spells mostly to utility and survival.
And for shield condi engi to do semi decent dmg you need at least 2 damage traitlines and 1 damage utility spell.
You dont need HoT to get rankcompetitive. Many ppl came without HoT spec to legendary. Only thing you probably wont be able to do is win some esports competitions (cant really say, didnt see anyone seriously try it).
I want/need magnetic aura as core engi (not the poopy random trait one), maybe as healing turret toolbelt!!!!!!!!! And longer immobilize on pistol 5 !!!!!! Just quality of life changes …..
Other than that i expect nerf of -50% damage reduction spells.
Whats the role of this build? As i see it it has very low dmg, no burst and still no better survival. Counting on 1/2 – 1 cast time just to remove 1 random condi i wouldnt say good survival. Also might stacking will not increase your damage by mcuh if your dmg is near zero. Also i wouldnt run mortar, but elixir, it also sync better with traits.
As vs necro the most important thing is to predict and avoid transfers and try to interrupt heal, moa DS. FT actualy helps great here. For warrior i would suggest as condi to keep distance as much as possible and dont be affraid to disengage just to go back few sec later(streamline kits helps this) and dont tank too much. Also for runes there are much better options than mightstacking.

I do agree that removal of amulets would increase build variety much more. But for this they would need to make more usefull traits, so instead of choosing stats as one of the most important thing, it would be traits. Beside why should be 50% or more skills useless just because you dont have any condi dmg/precision/condi duration/power …… + as OP said easyer to balance. Duno why you ppl so against that. Since now you have such choice at choosing what amulet to have (read: forced into meta amulet).
The old chill dmg felt very unrewarding and clunky, for me. I very like bleed replacement, because before necro didnt have such good bleed stack aplication and this improved it and it synergise much more with other stuff.
Well cant say much since its only unranked pvp, but survivability looks fine, some toughtnes + high weakness uptime + shout minions that reduce dmg + reduced dmg from chilleld foes (all from instant cast skills that are hard to avoid and no LoS). You can try and attack npc bosses or lord with this defense and see how much/little dmg they do (not counting protection from 50% hp proc). Dont notice much lack of power, it seems the reaper shroud isnt as affected as core shroud is, where its nice to have more power (and with power easier to go pass diamond skin 1v1). The only thing i miss is some form of swiftnes, maybe i will try traveler runes.
But meh hard to talk of viability now, but atm it does the job for me and its lots of fun. Only problem i had was vs better mesmers and moa.
And i think the new change to chill dmg/bleed is amazing, making necro much more fun to play.
It happened to me once. And no, i wasnt in party with him prior match or ever.
I have also seen noon meta builds in legendary. Some did great, some did not so great. Same as meta ppl, some are pro, some are poop. No difference here. What i did notice is that “meta” ppl who think they are good, starts to flame and blame non meta players if they are loosing, even if non meta player contributed much more to the game than meta peeps ever did. This thread belongs in line as all those “i always get noobs on my team and thats why i have 50 loose streak”. And those ppl that usualy starts to complain or flame are weak link in team, even with meta build.
Did developers forget about it? We had it in old traitsystem. Speaking from pvp standpoint its prety much a must to have since so much pve poop running around, from clones to pets you wont hit anything in teamfights.
Pistol pierce needs to be baseline. It needs to happen. Next patch hotfix plx. There is absolutly no reason not to have it (beside lazy devs).

Yea i know, but thats is total of all games, but there are people that are claiming % ratios for specific season only. I guess taking picture of every 10 games as suggested might be only option. At least pre seasons we had leaderboards where it said that.
I seen lots of ppl saying their win/loss procentage for this season or last. So i am just asking where can you see it? All i can see is last 10 games and overall number/procentage of all my games. Is there anything i am missing?
Tempest alone makes matches bunker meta 2.0 , even if others are pure dps. It increases survival of others too much.
I have 12 wins in a row as condi engi, not even HoT. Too easy.
I dont like class stacking restriction, since with 1 class you can make so many variations and builds that in the end it can look like 2 seperate classes. With class restriction you are eliminating this diversity.
For me it was fun, but it was prety boring to wach teamfights. Spam AoE everywhere and cant see a thing.
Also if its dire, you can transfer condis to pet.
I am prety sure its connected to druid, 2 more games, happen again both times. It happened after druid used some cc/imobilize.
And no its not taunt.
Happens almost every match, specialy if fighting druid (as engi, duno why). The bug roots you into place (no imobilize) until you die or use some movement skill (if you have it). I know this is old bug but srsly, its so frequent lately. Fix plz.
Hey, was just wondering how does this skill work? In my tooltips looks like it does 1 stack of burning, but in reality it does no burning. Also the tooltip on this site is different http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ .
Mesmers arent underpowered and need no buff, its few other classes that are outperforming and need nerf (having lots of sustain and dmg and utility at same time), that making, not just mesmer builds but also other, not so viable. Mesmers are still very strong vs other.
Nice points, can say i agree to most of them (if not making them viable at last its about balancing anoying/frustrating mechanics to play against), just not inrease in necro auto attack speed, since its sluggish enaugh. Would rather nerf reaper shroud instead, to bring it to death shroud level.
Remove all amulets and give us static stats. Let make traits do bigger difference on our rolles.
Remove amulets and introduce static stats for each class. You can modify stats only with runes, sigils and traits. Not only it would be much more effective and easy to balance, it would open more build diversity, because you would be able to use any spell/utility and not restrained by condi/power/bunker stat specialisation. Also its better design to be able to use your class 100% than like 33% because you dont use condi dmg or power or something else. Let the traits decide your role not amulets.
I have been stuck in never ending loading screen for pvp maps few times since last patch (hotjoin).
What i hate is that they make shroud traits same for both DS and RS (like dhuumfire), while balancing them on only one of them (usualy based on RS since its performing stronger). So first they should make traits with double effects.
I really think the function of DS is near perfect.
If anything it would be better for RS to be nerfed to DS level than other way around. And if ppl want to have more stability (like RS have now), it would be more apropriate to create trait for it instead.
But if DS buff is the only option (not RS nerf) i would much rather have effect similar to distortion instead of extra stability somewhere, making shrouds even more distinctive from one another. Beside this they could pop some finisher here and there.
Also pulsing cripple on DS 5, if the enemy is linked to you, also sounds nice and general reduction to cooldowns, as mazut suggested.

You ppl forget hammbow and afther this shoutbow warriors and before this also Dhuum necro and spirit ranger and hgh engies and phantasm mesmer and dodge sword thief.
I also use Krait runes with carrion amu for condi pvp (curse/spite/soulr). I dont use signets tho (or reaper), tried all other runes you also mentioned and krait seems to offer the most.

I stay in combat many times on respawn as condi necro, no minions. Maybe something about staff mark trigers?
MoC makes also corruption spells instant? No more healinterupts <3.
Or MoC make also corruption spells to inflict (self inflicted) condis on enemy instead of player.

Thief for me the hardest, since you need different mentality for it. Ele would be the hardest also, but jsut because it woul be soooo boring, i would strugle to keep playing it.
The easyest for me is necro, since i main it.
They should create variations of ds/rs 1 traits, its imossible to balance it for both together since they are vastly different. Atm i also feel those traits are more balanced with rs in mind and not ds.

My favourite condi build, very dynamic, if you dont like corrupt boons, try changing it with Well of Corruption.
For condi necro, blood magic doesnt have many benefits as it does for more power oriented builds, so i would rather take other two, preferably soul reaping, since as condi necro you would need some better lf generating and free spectral armour isnt that bad.
Congratz Axelwarrior, was fun, hope to have more events like this, just missed some other necro names. Next time i will be prepared for minion onslaught.

FLESH WURM
Sometimes when you try to cast it and you are already CCed or are just going to get CCed (wurm already precasted) you get teleported but still stunned, doesnt stunbreak you.
ENERGY SIGIL STAFF
Sometimes it doesnt replenish your energy when you swap to staff. Also have it on scepter and never noticed any problem there. Sometimes also happens like 50% of the time per match. Dont know if its conected to necro staff or sigil in general.
Yup cele should be gone from pvp, amulet thata lets you do everthing at same time and making it viable just calls for balance issues. Not to mention those proffesions are very boring to play against. For me ele was much more fun when hey had to specialise to power dmg, condi dmg or cleric survival, now they do everything just with one.
Reason is old condi necro, soul reaping/curses/spite with swalk/cboon/wurm is still tons of fun and still competitive, best necro spec ever (for me).
Scepter 3, beside what is doing now, corrupts 1 boon into condi and gives you basic life force even if no condi on enemy. Shorter cooldown?
Scepter 2 needs shorter casting time (and cooldown?).
Scepter 1, when applies the poison, it also transfers 1 condi from you (if no condi on you than it gives also bleed, as basic auto attacks do) and has better power scaling/base dmg (more hybryd friendly for those that chooses).
And all ranged targeted autoattacks (not just necro scepter, also naxe or other proffesion weapons that doesnt have projectile) need to do dmg in front of you if you spam them with no target, since they are at huge dissadvantage vs stealth targets.

Since we dont have much burning this is, or more was, our primary burst (as condi necro) and trait that was making condi necro viable at all. Atm damage it does is very very small and our fears (even traited with 50% extra duration) are quite short in duration. You need 2 different traitlines for it and its still not good. While everything else (not condi necro related stuff) got boosted (dmg and survival) since patch, this trait does almost same amount of dmg, leaving condi necro, as whole, behind in viability, beside the nerf of slowing condis on movement skills.
With 1638 condi dmg and 50% extra fear duration.
Staff fear: 1,5s ->one tick -> 32s cd
DS fear: 1,5s on far away targets and 2,25 on close ->2 ticks if you use the close one -> 17s cd traited.
Both fears combined -> 3 ticks
No extra dmg for overflow time (3,75 s fear duration, does only 3 ticks, for 0,75s it does no dmg) -> 50% extra duration doesnt contribute to dmg.
732 dmg with no condis, 1099 with condis, per tick -> potential “burst” 3300 dmg over 3 sec -> similar as 3 stacks of burning over 3 sec.
Trait competing with other potential (boon coruption -> fear) synergy traits, cant reach its full potential.
