Part of me admires the tenacity of these hardheaded tenguists, the other part of me wants them in a nice, extra crispy recipe.

I’m in agreement. This change to two tickets from the standard 1 ticket price on release is…frustrating to say the least.

I wonder how the mechanics would work for Mounts? Right now Gliding is just a re-skin of Falling ; meaning they just changed falling speed and put a glider over it. So how would mounts really work? Would they have strafe and stuff or do they turn and move like mounts in other games?

I predict mounts would be a re-skin of running.

Knowing Anet, I pretty much agree with this. As of now, I wouldn’t be surprised if mounted folks couldn’t go any faster than boosted running, just like riding the Magic Carpet and the Broomstick, and I’d be ok with that.

I guess we’ll see though.

I don’t really go for joke or clever names (but I do appreciate them on other player’s characters), so I go with what sounds interesting to me.

Zerina In Aeternum – Asura Necromancer – She is my first character, and my main, and I decided that she dropped her original Asura name in favor of something more exotikittentle did I know that I would see several other “Aeternum” names out there. (The censorship is lame: “exotic” and “Little”)

Thorsimund – Charr Warrior – I wanted a strong name, so I used the name of a Visigoth king, and switched a couple letters around. I get a lot of compliments on this name.

Jaxxi Deus – Asura Engineer – I liked Jaxxi, but it was taken so added something extra.

Embrace of Midnight – Human mesmer – I don’t play her much, in fact, she’s still only level 44. I do have big plans for her…someday.

As you can see, I don’t really stick to one naming convention.

Wow, what a difference a year makes.

Since my last post in this thread, I still have these characters, but my asura family has grown..a lot.

Bekka, Feyyt, Rissa, Akee, Tylee, Sixx, all nice and proper asura names.

I’ve also added Aeslin just to have a sylvari, and Drifa just to have a norn.

As a weekly key farmer, I wish I had more Tome of Knowledge.

This is exactly how I look at mobs. Every single one of them is a possible precursor drop. I’ll never understand why people run away from them when aggroed.

Southsun has a couple Asura wearing beachwear, if not exactly swimsuits. There’s this one, one of the tourists on Southsun. (This is a wiki screenshot). And there’s another, a little girl who’s wearing shorts and a white top.

I also will point out again that any profession can wear 6 ogre runes and have a pet most of the time. If someone complains they do not want to give up their rune slots? Well, rangers feel the same way about giving up our pets. As to solving AFK farming, well, some people will always take whatever is the easiest option to make money. If AFK farming is of particular concern to you for some reason look at why they are doing it and address that cause rather than nerfing the entire profession. For example, if leather was not needed as much you would see less people afk farming it ….. although they will go to whatever is next.

Before HOT and LS3 the thing was SW, especially the chest farm runs. Should anet have taken away the chests?

That’s a very good point – AB MM was nerfed largely because too many people were doing it and it was “too” profitable (or so it seems to myself and much of the community). Yet nothing has been done to nerf the SW chest farm. You can still make as many loops around the map and continuously open chests as long as somebody has another shovel handy. Why shouldn’t SW chest farming be nerfed the same way that AB multi-map was? (Note, I am not condoning such action…)

I’m guessing it’s because you still have to earn bandit crests to buy the keys, or collect enough silky sand and get a few keys when you refine the sand. Either way, you have to do something to get those keys, they’re not exactly free.

Both of these together are one of my favorite jumping puzzles in the game.

Because there’s already a material storage spot for them along with Petrified Wood, Fresh Winterberries, Jade Shards, and Fire Orchid Blossoms.

I just made my first legendary, Kudzu. I went through the entire precursor crafting process. I’m agreeing with the others. The scavenger hunting was great. The chopping down entire forests to make one magical toohpick part sucked.

I wake up, come to the forums (after making coffee of course) and the first thing I see is this post.

For my small army of asura (see signature) only a couple have stuck to the asura stereotype. The rest are outliers and are more interested in bonding with others rather than ruling others.

So, there’s that.

Also OP, asura can actually sit in chairs, where other races can’t.

Get a Watchwork Mining Pick, then use it one ever mining node you see.

You can also get a Sprocket Generator in your home instance.

Why can’t you just kill the mobs beforehand? You never know what they might drop.
