Had an octovine event succeed insanely close to the timer. In fact, the timer vanished so we didn’t know if we won.

It was pretty rough as 2 sides wiped, many refused to WP and others were just complaining in chat about ml nerfs not bringing enough people.

But there were those that refused to quit and with some combo of fiery gs and every mobility skill in the book, people converged on the last vine. I was only able to get two hits on the last one.

Despite lack of orginization, nobody overburned any side. Found that somewhat miraclous.

Probaly the most satisfying post event lootfest I have had in a long time.

Also, it always astounds me that no matter how well Auric Basin meta is going, map chat is full of complainers, doomsdayers, and abandon-all-hopers. I mean, I know it shouldn’t surprise me, but it does.

While participating in the leather farm over the weekend (maybe about 4-5 hours in total?) I spoke with other leather farmers, and the majority of them that responded stated that they were there for their own crafting needs, just like me.

Only a handful of the ones that responded said that they were selling the Bloodstone Warped Hides without even salvaging them.

Additionally, the farming squads I were in were either mostly full, or completely full, each with many non-squadded players following along.

EDIT: I know this is anecdotal, but I thought it would be interesting to share anyways.

This is exactly what I’m doing.

Forum “experts” say the new leather farm is a bust, but I’ve joined several farm trains, and I’m getting what I need for crafting and having fun smacking centaurs doing it.

Here is the 38 page [Merged] English forum thread on April Fool 2015 with people complaining about April Fools and accusing ANet of insensitivity for not thinking of that plane crash. Once I read the complaints had made ANet go to the forums and apologize, I figured they would stop April Fools as there’s no way for them to know in advance what joke is going to blow up in their face.

I remember this well, as it was my first GW2 April Fools. I really felt sorry for Anet and I really can’t blame them if they don’t feel like doing other April Fools pranks in the future.

At any rate, I think I’ll be happy with SAB happening in April from now on.

Whatever it is, I hope it doesn’t take away my SAB time.

It must be worth some gain (I have no idea what), otherwise we wouldn’t see these groups of AFK farmers, at the same spots, hour after ahour, day after day, week after week.

I’m all for options, and I wouldn’t object to a on/off toggle. However, it astounds me that someone at my age, and with a muscle weakness disease, barely has any problems with my glider opening during jumping puzzles, yet so many others are.

I don’t think I’ve ever logged in just to get the daily AP. I don’t even think I’ll notice when I hit the cap. I’ll still be logging in to play the game and talk with friends.

They can’t even get all the emotes from Guild Wars into Guild Wars 2, how to you expect them to add more complicated features like henchmen?

I have to agree, this cycle system is frustrating to say the least.

If I had to guess, I’d guess that they did this because they thought it was better for the game overall to handle it this way.

Over the next six months they will find out if they were right, and if it doesn’t achieve their goals, forget about it.

Fixed that for you, based on the usual Anet behaviour.

Which fits tight into their policy of “If it’s not broken, fix it until it is.”

Asura circuitboards.

I’ve been pushing for long hair styles for asura for a while now (all we seem to get are up-dos) and I’ve promoted that artist on this forum before. She posts her work on the reddit site fairly often (The sylvari artwork is her latest offering), but more exposure is a good thing.

Please Anet, pay this artist and give us long hair styles for our asura!

P.S.: 3 Barettes, I must have it!

All other crafting professions are maxed.

Hmm, I suppose all of these folks in the attached picture were called away for real life reasons, or are maybe using the restroom, at the same time. Or maybe they’re all just waiting for nodes to respawn. Two of them, I’ve seen at this spot every day for a week. That’s a hell of a restroom break.

Wow, I’m glad I have all the crafting professions maxed.

This is going to suck for those that haven’t touched crafting at all.

That’s exactly what I did when I found it this morning. Sure enough, about 20 people flocked to my mentor tag after I announced it in map chat. Someone even dropped a Black Lion Trading Post person so people could buy Omnomberry Ghosts.

Be aware, that it does move. It was in a difference location (further up the path and from when I first encountered it), and from what I’ve heard, it only spawns at night, but I wasn’t paying attention when I found it again.

This leather farm is a great idea. Making it impossible to complete map exploration in this area without heading into it, is literally the worst thing that could have been done. Unless you are a thief or can stealth/survive a ridiculous level of punishment, you will not be able to solo map exploration here (or even do it with a 5-man party).

One of my guildies used 10 res orbs to get to this PoI just so she could finish map completion. Lined walls of snipers that can one shot you? assorted champs and veterans and elites in a huge mixture? a wall of charging centaurs pushing you back constantly? Map completion should not be locked behind a material farm. I love GW2, but honestly, this feels like pretty poor map planning.

I soloed my way up to the POI as a staff zerker ele relying on reflects from Magnetic Aura coming from earth 3, rebound, and Overload Earth. There’s a huge but obscure shortcut that takes you to the end of the trail, straight into the POI. Go from the peach tree eastward. There should be a path that takes you to a mastery point. Around that area is a hill that you can climb, full of debris. This debris is a jumping puzzle type of obstacle, and upon climbing it you can run directly to the POI.

I found the path you were talking about, but that final dash is….well I couldn’t get the POI with Elites and Champions just about one shotting me every time.

At any rate, I suppose that area is supposed to be a zerg-dream, but I have yet to see a single zerg go up there.

I haven’t played through the entire episode yet, but I’m going to just leave this here…

I didn’t see it in the patch notes so…~shrugs~
