What kind of computer are you using and what are your visual specs in game?

You bring your gear in to WvW, which is PvP.

It’s their way of controlling PvP so it’s about skill, not who has the best stats.

Well, you can always check by marking out a node, going with one character, grabbing it, and then logging on to another and seeing if it’s still there. If you could tell us what you find, that’d be awesome, cause don’t have enough 80 chars to do that myself. :P

Second time I’ve had someone attempt a login from china while I was using a password unique to guild wars 2.
I set up a third unique password for the account, but I fully expect a third attempt within the next three weeks, either you guys have hilarious poor protection against brute force attempts with an astounding amount of resources dedicated to obtaining accounts, or there is a hole they are exploiting.
Either way fix your kitten.

That or you really need to run a sweep or two on your computer for keyloggers. Because, again, if there was a hole, a lot more people would be affected than just a handful. Just sayin’. <3

Nah, it’s mostly used to gain items to sell for gold that they can sell online illegally.

Given that it is a bug, I would suggest not using it. I can’t speak for ArenaNet, but it does give you an unfair advantage. However, it’s not like exploiting the karma weapon bug and it’s really hard to track so I don’t think you should get in trouble for it. However I might think about swapping out your runes.

If you enter the Chantry of Secrets and that isn’t what solves it, send in a support ticket to ArenaNet. I’m sure they can offer assistance or at least advice there.

But ya, even if you have been to the Chantry before, go to it one more time and see if it works out.

Nope. You have to be in combat to grant quickness or any other buffs associated with swapping a weapon or pet.

And CRabbit, why would they care? It’s how the game is supposed to work. Beforehand, they changed it because people were switching out pets a large amount of times to grant themselves huge duration of this buff out of battle then going in battle. That wasn’t supposed to happen. Also, given that the quickness lasts 2 seconds, it’s better that it’s in battle since you actually can get the benefits from it.

Thanks for posting that Don. Too many people raise a hell storm while they’re waiting for support to respond and then don’t lift a finger to tell others that they actually got help, thus making this place look a bit bad.

If you see things like this, report the users. Right click their name and select report. ANet has been trying to get them, but there are a lot more of them then there are of ANet, so reporting is the best thing you can do.

Also, a precaution, if you find a botting train, don’t join in. Even legit, it is hard to tell if you are following a botting train as a botter or not, so you might get reported. :P

Just to point out, if your password for your email and your game account are different, there is no chance they can hack your account with the email authorization in place unless you have a keylogger. Just saying, for anyone worried.

Also the karma bug made people leave? Good. Less morons who say “Oh well obviously this can’t be a bug if they put it in there and there are no other items that are priced like this. Not only am I going to buy one cause it’s cool (which people didn’t get punished for), but I’m gonna buy as many as I can and completely ruin the economy for my own gain and then not report this obvious bug. Du-Hoy.”

I dunno. As for End-game, I’m on character 2. Once I go for character 3 that’s even more time, and there’s so much to explore. I like just walking around and seeing the sights. I’ve joined a guild. I’ve done lots of meta-events, jumping puzzles, etc.

Ya, GW2 is lacking the traditional gear monkey endgame. Well… it’s not a gear monkey game, so did anyone expect any differently?

I mean, hell, in GW1 you played at level 20 for most of the game.

And as for the karma awards thing… you get pretty close to that depending on how hard the event is. I can clear Queensdale events in a heartbeat versus Orr events. They do scale up rewards, but if they scaled it up to the difficulty of the area and event.

Er, except Guardians aren’t holy warriors. There are no “You are this if you are this class” in this game. Your class makes a difference mechanically but not story wise. If you perceive them that way, you’re literally just shutting yourself down.

But ya, sorry that you don’t like the classes. What builds were you using with them? I mean, it sounds like you really just wanted as much spike DPS as you could WHILE doing super support, which doesn’t happen in this game really. I’m not sure.

I have a friend who focuses on turrets. He kicks butt with them. Ya, his DPS is low, but it’s not like performing top DPS is all that important in this game. Support roles with low damage are just as important. His heal turret/shield combo has saved our collective butts on many an occasion.

I’m not saying you’re playing them wrong, I just think maybe your playstyle isn’t cut out for the roles you’re trying to fill?

It’s still quite possible. On the character select screen there is a button for it.

Anything from buffs specifically on your bar is added post numbers. So you should be getting the full amount, just not showing that you are.

The trigger is an NPC on a certain timer that when you do her kill event after the timer has run its course, it’ll activate.

They have banned quite a few accounts so far. So, keep reporting them and most likely we’ll see a sweep of them like in GW1.

And… where does your information pre-release on the costumes come from? I understand your issues, but there is no real validity to your complaints until the 22nd rolls around if you’re specifically talking about Halloween costumes. Primarily because none of us know how they work.

Also, you can wear town clothes outside of town, they just revert if you take damage or go in to the water.

Nope, do just that. What happens is that someone had your password, attempted to log in and then couldn’t get in to your email. Smart on you for not using the same password for your email! So just change your password and you’re good!

Without a backdoor program, you probably won’t have much to worry about, since the game data is stored on your computer.

Also, as long as your password to your email is not the same as to your game and you have authorization up, it doesn’t matter if you give someone your account name and password. They can try until they’re blue in the face and unless you let them in, they can’t.

There is a difference to me.

If I stand still and just let an enemy wail on my and only use skills, I tend to do a lot worse than if I use the same skills while moving.

I can’t say why, but I do better that way. shrug

Primarily because there are non-MF players out there. Quite a few of them.

Just because some that really care about always getting the most out of their drops would doesn’t mean everyone would.

The specific tweaks that are known to cause issues are transmuting, haven’t heard anything about sigils. And because of that, I’d stay on the side of caution if you want Eternity, though I feel as though unless you’re going to get Eternity soon, they’ll have this all fixed by the time it’s an issue.

You won’t need to use the cash shop to enjoy the event. It’s not that big of a deal to me.

Er, no. The things in the Halloween update, other than the event itself, are permanent. The new DEs, the new jumping puzzles, etc.

As for permanent planned things, there is an appearance changing item that appeared in the database, but when it’ll come out, no one knows. They said they have plans for town clothes and they’re trying to fix camera issues. They just also have a lot of more important things on their plate like trying to get a hold on some major bugs.

Honestly, the arguments for it are pretty weak:

People go in with no toughness – People do that without Magic Find gear. If that’s your argument, then all glass cannons should be banned from the game.

People are less effective – Barely. Exotic MF gear may not be ‘the best’ for DPS or whatever, but it doesn’t affect performance that badly.

You -have- to have it to get good loot – Not particularly. Studies on it (Yay reddit) have shown its affect is touch and go. It’s not like 100% magic find doubles the money you make.

It’s a waste – Obviously not, or people wouldn’t be wearing it.

People are greedy – b->_>-b Real mature argument there.

It’s a kitten mechanic and ANet is kitten for allowing it – Okay, we’re done now.

If you don’t like it, don’t wear it. It’s really that simple. You don’t -need- to wear it to make money. If you say you do, it’s because you think you do, not that you need to.

If they made it another slot purely for MF, everyone would just walk around with the best item in it. Which would be an awesome gold sink, but would still run in to the same problem. You “have” to use it.

I played a different MMO recently to check it out.

It reminded me of how much I love the dynamic combat system of GW2.

And for people saying there are a ‘lack of skills’ as if that is something that other games don’t have? Well, there always tends to be a best build or rotation on every other single MMO, so I feel as though this game opens up a lot more in the actual using the environment than any other game I’ve ever played.

Something to keep in mind about GW1 events, they were rarely “If you aren’t on at 8:29 on Wednesday, you miss it”. The Christmas events were on a loop, Halloween I believe were quest based, etc.

Number 2 is no more of a bug than any other weapon that is crafted or forged from another weapon being unbound as far as I can tell.

You sholdn’t need an empty character slot. Once you hit 80 you still gain EXP. So, honestly, once you hit 80, it becomes actually easier in the long run to get this achievement.

This is not working for muiltiple legendaries by the sound of it, but I think they know what’s going on and are working on it.

I’m sorry, but I’d suggest next time searching. There are a few topics like this, where both precursors and legendaries lose their ‘statuses’ if they have been transmuted.

ANet, as far as I can tell, acknowledges this as a problem and is working to fix it.

It happens in only a few cities. The human city is the only one I’ve seen it in myself. If you walk close enough to the exits, sometimes it prompts you to leave.

It also might be a name taken by an NPC. That is something to keep in mind.

Tzko, take a look at the Halloween update. That pretty much answers your question for you.

Or, another translation, is a skin unique to a single item. So there is only 1 way to get the skin, and if it is not a mystic forge recipe but rather a random combine, then it is rare by default.

I’m not sure if it has a unique skin, but it might.

Unique Skins actually tend to sell well.
