Human Ranger, no Speed Buff, beat it 4 times.

Just requires a LOT of patience.

If you are in a group with someone and you right click their name, you should get an option if you are in the same area to join their instance if they’re in an overflow.

Also, Bobo, could you give me the quote or at least the area where you got that from? I’ll even look it up for you if I can cause that doesn’t sound like anything I’ve heard before, and I pretty much lurk the forum’s and blog’s waters constantly. :P

What happens is that each kid rewards you with 8 personalized bags for 50 pieces of corn. Normal trick or treat bags have corn in them. Open the normal bags, then use that corn to buy personalized, then you get corn from them and slowly get more bags as your supply dwindles by about 50% each round.

I don’t think so. I think it was just a reward for the Act 1 quest.

Personalized seem to have a better loot chance for items than non-personalized, however they do seem to share the same loot table.

I think if you want it for that char again, you’re outta luck. :<

Did you try logging on to your GW1 account? This bug seems to happen a lot when you change your email address for GW2. That’s what happened with me at least.

As far as I know, this is one of the recipes. Superior Sigil of night has multiple different recipes though.

Ya, sounds like your specific character has something wonky with it. I’d suggest a support ticket. As long as you keep the item, they should be able to eventually fix it! Just don’t destroy it in your rage. :P

Senoph, I actually agree with your points. While I feel a good portion of the game are blowing the ‘need’ of participating in the gamble far out of the water, I can appreciate a logical, well written post that discusses the issues fairly and in a way that isn’t antagonizing towards Arenanet.

Well, certain skins. Scythe, Shield and Chainsaw specifically are the high rollers, along with the skull shoulder pieces, though those not as much.

As far as I can tell, skins will stay in the game after the event ends, just no more availability of getting new ones.

So, best thing to do is watch the market and find that sweet spot between people putting them up since they don’t want them and people buying them up because they view the market value rising. So watch the market a little bit before the event ends and see if the prices start to rise.

Event ends on the 4th or 5th of November? So they might?

You seem to be mistaking rarity for diversity. I never said anything about diversity and that wasn’t any part of my argument.

If you want everyone to be diverse, having all the clothes available is the way to go, you’re correct.

That has nothing to do with why LE items are released the way they are.

It will depend completely on supply and demand. The chainsaw skin has dropped from 45 gold to about 30ish last time I checked? Scythe is down to 23. Just watch the market. The prices will rise again as new players come in who couldn’t get the items want to buy them. Thus the draw of LE items to those who play the marketplace. It’ll take a while though.

No, here’s the thing. I didn’t get any unique items off of the chests. Literally, they just dropped SO MUCH of the yellow Halloween crafting stuff that I was able to sell it back and make myself a good chunk of gold back.

People are saying the lottery gives you nothing. It doesn’t. Each chest gives you something. People are just blinded by it not giving them what they want that they will whine and complain until they are blue in the face.

We’ll see what model they go with. This one seemed largely successful to be honest. If they do it again and it’s not as successful, they’ll look at the profit versus potential profit and rethink it.

Most likely, if it -is- a one time event, it’s literally just fluff. You get to watch an NPC puppet show. And that’s not too bad in my mind.

Yes. To make a permanent version, you have to craft the recipe for the gift for that specific weapon, craft the gift and then combine the gift with 3 other items to make the permanent version of the weapon.

Except that reduces the value of the item if everyone can get them. That’s the problem. They want something rare and that people can be different for having.

If this model actually stops people from buying things, then most likely they will change up the events. But since they have the numbers, our speculation on it won’t actually help.

As for the lottery thing, I made 7 gold off of the things those chests dropped. Arenanet pretty much handed me back a nice chunk of my money so I was quite happy with how they did it.

You had your ‘dagger’ and two weapons.

You transmuted the ’dagger’’s appearance on to the first weapon. Then you transmuted that again on to the second?

So, by the sound of it, it’s working correctly unless I totally misread. When you transmute two items together, you only get one item. So if you wanted two priory daggers, you needed two tokens.

They also have a higher drop rate (seemingly) of non-candy corn.

Event ends the 4th of November. You have 11 days left. That means getting 250 candy corn a day and you’ll have some left over. Not that difficult.

That is the recipe for superior sigil of night and you can get the recipe off of Random Trick or Treat Bags.

If you are in anything that is time sensitive, you will be given time to finish it. If you are in a dungeon and it resets, you will have 3 hours to complete the dungeon, more than enough time.

This isn’t the place to discuss how unfair your banning was. That’s for you to discuss via a support ticket with Arenanet. If you were falsely banned, they will unban you. If you weren’t, you won’t. But whining her will do you no real good.

Ah. Ya, they have issues with campus servers. It’s odd that you don’t have them with other games though. Lucky.

If you go in to the Chantry of Secrets and walk around a bit and get nothing, send in a support ticket.

When you switch weapons on your secondary, off-weapon build, it will switch your stats to that build at times. It is a bit buggy, but at least for me has corrected itself when I go in to combat. Have you tried taking off one of the daggers and re-adding it to see if this will auto-correct the stats? Or just switching? See what happens with your stats when you enter combat.

Also, Kepas, that is not a bug. You can only have 1 “on kill” sigil active at any point in time. You will only get one buff and as long as you have that buff, you can’t rack up any other buffs.

M’not her, but the only way they can help you is if they know what the code is, so send in a ticket giving information about what item the code was for, the code, and when you got said code and they can help ya out with it.

Yes. FOR NOW, you can take a soulbound item, transmute it to a white, hand that white off to another character (you can’t sell it on the TP), and they can transmute the appearance on to another piece of gear.

As to whether this is a feature or a bug is unconfirmed, but we haven’t heard heads or tails about it yet, so…

Hm. Have you tried deleting the Gw2.dat file from your GW2 folder? Ya you have to repatch the sucker, which takes forever, but if you’re down to the point of uninstalling, you’d have to anyway.

Also, are you running a Mac or Windows? If in Windows, have you tried the “Run as Administrator” option? I doubt that would be much of a help with crashes, but hey, I’ve seen wierder things.

Sounds like a firewall issue potentially. If it blocks the downloader, the downloader would most likely register that as not being able to access the internet because the firewall is preventing it. What kind of security do you run on your computer?

Could you give a bit more detail? Is there a specific error message that you are running in to? Is this with the original game download or the patching?

Did you change the password on one account? I know that reset it for some people so they never got the announcement. Did they share the same password? If they did, then you getting it on only one is really really strange. Had anyone outside of you tried to access one account but not the other? That might have something to do with it?

I’m not sure exactly what the idea behind it was, primarily because I never got the message myself. It might have been due to certain password strengths or perhaps history with that email.

So might of just been random chance and a specific password that the blacklist wasn’t happy with.

The reps have stated that they can’t give items on to accounts unfortunately. The only way would be an entire account roll-back, a system they have not implemented yet nor do they want to use for minor things such as accidentally deleted items. Sorry to hear that you lost the tokens though. :/

I deleted my posts. People were right, had no real reason to be posting here. I appreciate the last three posts in at least their tone much better than the original ones, and hope you guys can come up with a reasonable discussion with ANet on the issue. I do agree that it was a problem, I just had serious issues with the way you were addressing them. But again, wasn’t my issue.

For any posts referencing mine, people can assume correctly that I was being pretty bratty and out of control and I apologize. I just figured removing them would probably be best for this thread not being closed and you guys actually being able to start up a discussion.

Not sure about the GW1 thing, but as for the GW2 thing, due to security measures, they want everyone to change their passwords to make sure people with password databases can’t hack in to their account. It’s just for an extra level of security, since they don’t know if people have or haven’t changed their passwords.

Ah, okay. Sorry, there is some discrepancy in that from time to time as sometimes I get more karma than appears above my head, so I thought that might be the issue of not displaying correctly versus not showing up at all.

I mean, it’s still a bug, but if you did out the calculations and it didn’t work out, that’s even worse.
