The people in this game are some of the most helpful people I’ve ever met. I’ve -never- met a griefer and I’ve been in a position for many.

A user above pointed out that tagging, rezzing, etc, reducing community feeling? Sarcasm?

Having shared loot and exp on mobs makes people -want- to help one another. Incentives for rezzing makes people not just run by your corpse.

If people -choose- to run through the game completely on their own without anyone else, that is their choice. But they can’t say this game, which stresses cooperation over anything else, lacks the ability to build community.

Just because you haven’t tried to build it doesn’t mean the ability isn’t there.

Achievement doesn’t work period. It’s kind of a well established thing unfortunately. This is for anyone who wonders if it’s actually broken or not, I’ll second what she’s saying.

Here’s the thing. The only time AWESOME GEAR matters is either in WvWvW or dungeons.

Both of which are doable without max gear. They’re easier without max gear but I’ve completed every dungeon on – level (albeit not easily).

I mean, end game gear, compared to other games, is ridiculously easy to get a hold of and a lot less necessary than other games.

The extra Karma you get doesn’t show up in the quest completed prompt, but you still get it. :P

Over 4500 Botting accounts were disabled recently. There -are- less bots. They don’t have them all, but they are slowly going down.

There is also some funniness with the higher level crafted jewels, but I don’t know what they are specifically. Just watch out once you’re 80.

Other than some sexually dimorphic fur things, like lions, very few felines have sexual dimorphism in an actual physical sense. A shaved male lion looks a lot like a female lion.

Besides, I’m sure if GW2 did what you wanted, they’d do it to the full extreme. I think I remember a dev post saying that 4 sets of boobs on a female character (cause cats have that many nipples) might be disturbing.

Yes they do.

Every maintenance.

A thread like this appears. And because people notice a “noticeable drop” in the rate of X, Y, and Z with every patch, I can safely say that it’s psycho-symptomatic 99% of the time. That or you’d be having to pay ectos to salvage at this point if it was true. :P

May I ask that you space out your post a bit more? It was really difficult to read.

Something you seem to completely ignore though is the fact that you can switch weapons. Having high condition line that gives bonuses to a non-condition weapon also gives bonuses to your condition weapon on your other set.

First tree is Power and Condition Duration = This doesn’t only help long bows honestly. Vulnerability and opening strike are affected, piercing arrows can be killer for any bow, and in general, the traits are good for any bow type if you want to spec in to that.

Second, I can kind of agree, but again, it isn’t specifically just to those weapons. Quick Draw applies to both long and short bows and Trap Potency is good with a crit build.

Third line… I don’t see your argument. The skills for your thing are pretty arguably fine. The 20% faster on off hand weapons is killer, so sword works well for that build. Greatsword not so much, but eh, you can work it.

For the forth line, Spiritual knowledge helps a lot with the entire not proccing bit of spirits, and if you combine it with Unbound, Vigorous or Vengeance, you have some pretty nifty little meat tanks following you around.

The fifth line is the weakest unless you really build around your pets, but that’s the entire point. I don’t feel like it’s really lacking though. The shouts -are- kinda useless though, at least from what I’ve found. Of course, that’s from me not knowing how to really use the properly and not having the want to learn, so that’s my issue, not an issue with the game.

I dunno, I’ve always like the ranger trees and found no real issues with it.

Finish her dialog.
This should open a portal.
Kill what comes up.
If the event timer has refreshed, then it should start the chain events that lead up to Mr big boss.

In general, green armor comes attached with a minor rune, yellow comes attached with a major and orange comes attached with superior.

Heh. I follow the suckers and make sure I’m doing something different so no one reports me. But ya, they definitely -are- doing something they about it. I’ve noticed a large group of bots that has gone missing. Just be sure to report them.

Submit a support ticket, I’m sure they can help you change your password back via that.

As for not knowing the two were linked… I agree with ya on that. Should be stated somewhere if it isn’t.

If you wanted it for the skin and the stats, you can simply find another orange sword and trasmute it. But, other than that, there are no exchanges or refunds, sorry.

Thanks Endless! And I actually used logistic regression to test for significance; since I had a continuous explanatory variable (magic find) and a discrete response variable (rank drop with 5 levels) I used logistic regression to find the odds of getting different drop ranks with changing levels of magic find (if that makes sense). The p-value was about 0.25 from memory.

I also tried other ways, like simple linear regression using the drop rank as a continuous variable (1-5) and testing against the hypothesis of no slope. P-value there was like 0.93 haha.

And your point about needing more data… the thing about p-values is that they only measure if there is a difference from 0 and the more data you have (as p-values are a function of how much data you have) once you get into the thousands you’re almost guaranteed to get significant p-values! This is a trick with statistics! A difference of 0.1 is different from zero. 0.00001 is different from zero also. So getting “significance” by getting more data isn’t always the answer… if that makes sense! :P

Actually it does. Like I said, I’m a little more than a wee bit rusty. :P I’m mostly familiar with the basics of t-tests and such that you use in Biology.

But don’t p-values of .25 or .9 something seem a bit…. I dunno, too different? Though I mean, depending on the type of test you can get different results. I guess the thing would be finding the perfect type of test for the data.

Actually, wait, better question: What was your null hypothesis? Was it that Magic Find did make a difference or that it didn’t?

This is an amazing study! However, Karina, if what people are saying is true and it has such a low effect of 1% to 2%, then 1,000 might not be enough to actually have low enough margin of error to be able to tell the difference between the two. I mean, using a t-test, in order to have a low enough margin of error to tell between a single % requires a ridiculous amount of data points.

I’m not sure if this was something dealt with before (tried searching but nothing came up), but I assigned my pet switching to a hot key on my mouse. Whenever I use pet switching, I get a targetable AoE on the ground that does nothing upon clicking. I tried switching it back to another key and then to F4, but I still get the odd ground targeting circle.

It’s not game breaking, just a bit of an annoyance I guess?

The odd thing is I have a Norn Ranger and it’s not happening with him.

Details:

Human, Level 24, Ranger
PVE areas, such as Kessex Hills, Lion’s Arch, etc.
Pets: Krytan Bloodhound, Juvenile Jungle Stalker, but repeatable with other pets
It only happens above water
Does not happen in the Heart of the Mists (These two lead me to believe it’s equipment or skill based?)
Happens on any attempt to pet switch other than manually clicking the pet switch button on the UI

After some testing, I think I’ve found the cause.

If my character has the skill Prayer to Lyssa in the third Utility slot, this green ground targeting circle happens. If the prayer is moved to the first or second slot, it does not.

A minor bug, but figured I’d point it out.

Also, when Prayer to Lyssa or Prayer to Kormir are on the bar attached to the first utility slot, any skill attached to = seems to have a ground targeting even if they aren’t. Pretty sure might be related since I had pet switching attached to =.

I don’t know exactly what it is, but it’s a minor something.

And when one of the prayers is attached to the second utility slot, the F3 key does the ground targeting thing.

So, in summation:

If there is a prayer in the first utility slot, F2 causes a ground targeting effect that does nothing.
If there is a prayer in the second utility slot, F3 causes a ground targeting effect that does nothing.
If there is a prayer in the third utility slot, F4 causes a ground targeting effect that does nothing.

This happens even if F2-F4 are rebound to different keys mind you. If I use any keyboard or mouse shortcut instead of directly clicking the buttons on the UI, it will activate this.

The skills still activate properly, it’s just the random green targeting thing is odd.

But only seems for rangers so far as I can tell.

I’d submit a support ticket. There’s nothing they can really do from these forums specifically, though it does sound like a bug.

Keep in mind, however, that each server has it’s own instance of the guild. So you have to re-earn influence and upgrades for each different server. This is due to people in various guilds being on different servers.

Did you write a ticket to ANet to try and talk to them about the issue? That’s the only way they can really communicate on a per account basis.

Ya, I think the major issue is that with the new patch, it doesn’t disappear with log off so if people don’t remember to move their character around, it can have some disastrous results.

However, as a plus, you can get orichalcum and gossamer from whites.

The major issue is that similar enemy types spawn DR. And… everything in Orr is similar type. o.o; I mean, it varies, since Risen Spiders don’t seem the same as Risen humans, but still, I do notice that you hit it a lot faster in Orr.

Darmaku, have you just been leaving the character in Orr and killing nothing else in between? I suggest having your character go somewhere else and clense its sword on some other creature type. That might help your issue.

ANet, I believe, stated once that it had no real interest in introducing mounts in to the game. I can’t be 100% sure, but I don’t forsee them in the future.

As long as GW1 exists, you can continue to play it and get achievements.

Try logging in to Guild Wars 1, especially if you changed your GW1 email when you got GW2. This normally causes GW1 and 2 to realize that the other actually exists and fixes up most HoM problems.

No. ANet has been pretty obvious in stating that if a banning happens, it normally happens with them looking at each individual instance and judging it on a case by case basis. They aren’t ban happy they aren’t quick to the draw and most likely the large lock out is due to something either buggy or them hitting a large amount of botters at once.

This is potentially a bug with something or other. We’re not sure. We’ll see soon.

However, he reason they aren’t replying right now is it’s 7 in the god darn morning my time, 4 in the morning their time. They’re sleeping hopefully.

Yes, this is definitely something wrong. I would suggest you submit a ticket and they will look at this issue as quickly as they can. That is the only way they can deal with issues like these.

That’s fine. I’m just stating what I’ve seen in the forums over these last few weeks. Most tickets are gotten to before 72 hours. 72 hours means they missed it or something went wrong, thus you post and tell them something went wrong.

They should get to you in under 72 hours however.

Unfortunately, ANet can not refund mistaken purchases at this time. They plan to implement rollbacks later, however those will only be for serious account issues.

72 hours. If you don’t have a response within that time, post on the forums in the specified topic and they will look in to why. Until then, posting here does nothing.

You’d need to submit a ticket in order to get in contact with them.

If it takes more than 72 hours to get a response, then there is a thread to post in, but 72 hours is the usual maximum wait unless something has gone wrong. Minimally it can take only a few hours sometimes.

Step 1: Read -every- other topic just like this in the Account Issues Forum.
Step 2: See that every official response says to submit a ticket.
Step 3: Submit a ticket.

File a support ticket. That’s your best (and honestly only) option.

This isn’t really the proper place for this. However, there are also items that grant pure + crit %, so that might be it.
