“Some” overpowered builds doesn’t sound like concerning the overall damage increase.

I don’t know if it would massively nerf thief or just require a new playstyle, because I rarely play this class.
But really like the idea. It forces you to pay attention that you do get that one stealthy hit you wanna get. That’s the philosophy of stealth attacks. Also it would require a certain amount of skill then.
And anyways…if I block how could I not recognise the enemy? ^^
If it is possible with the playstyle I’d definitly appreciate it. But maybe only if it is evaded. If the skill misses I would say that you hardly actually recognise the enemy. Maybe you could just reveal him for 0.5 seconds and let the stealth go on normally after that.

I’d say Warri and Guard are both equal.
Spot 3-7 are all possible, if well played.
Thiefs just suck.

It’s been 3 years.
I was hoping they finally fix invulnerable finish.
But no.
I simply don’t get it.
There are only 3 classes that can become completely invulnerable. That’s a huge imbalance, especially in pvp. I mean your downed skills are supposed to help you against finish.
Why don’t you finally fix it?
All we wanted was a GvG.
I don’t think that stealth is op but I think every class should have 1 skill that gives them at least once the chance to counter stealth.
That wouldn’t be too op imo. (Also nice against mesmer burst or such)

RAM Speeds (Lowest CL on the highest speed possible for your OC)
Highest Single core IPC (4790K stock is the FASTEST cpu, period)
Fastest PCIE bridge (Version 3)Is what makes FPS faster
OT: none of this will give you a noticeable performance boost in real world usage.
RAM never limits anything graphic wise.
Even the 4 year old 2xxx Intels deliver enough performance. It’s always the GPU power that limits first.
There is no difference between pcie 2.0 and 3.0 because you never have such a huge data transfer in simple games. 2.0 bandwidth is more than enough not to limit your fps.
Don’t spend too much money on fancy CPU or RAM. It’s still the GPU you wanna care about most.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I agree. Big reason I won’t be buying the HoT "Expansion. Not worth the money.
So funny to see people saying it’s not worth the money and people saying it’s not enaugh information yet in the same thread.
All we wanted was a GvG.
The timeframe is after the announcement of the expansion.
The FAQ back then said specifically that you will need the base game to be able to play the expansion. They wanted to clarify this so people don’t mix it up with the earlier standalone campaigns in Guild Wars 1 or things like that.
So people thought that they should buy the game now in their sales, because they will need it for the expansion.
But since the expansion comes with the core game included they never needed it. And that’s why they are getting a refund in that timeframe.
Veterans (purchase before this date) get a character slot worth the exact same like the core game on sale that new players are getting the refund for.
Now everyone pays 50$ for the expansion and gets a bonus equivalent to 10$.
So in the end everyone gets the same value for their money.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I’m not an IT expert, but maybe it is because of the age.
Remember Guild Wars 2 is running an over 10 years old engine that as only been modyfied…maybe it is simply incapable to do this? (Pls correct me if I’m talking bs ^^")
All we wanted was a GvG.
That’s the way ANet goes.
All the different features should make sure that the bit less content always feels different from each other and is more fun to replay as such.
And I’d rather have 9 different maps than 20 that are all the same…but people are only looking for numbers unfortunatly.
And for example I don’t want to know how many hours it took them to develop the glider system with all it’s physics and stuff to an engine that wasn’t even designed for 3d usage. It’s a feature that took a lot of effort and that will hopefully deliver lots of fun in the future and will be used much more often. (ArcheAge style glider wars? Just sayin…)
But it took some time…and that may have to be compensated with a bit less content.

HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

The core game has been in sale for 10$.
As a veteran you get a character slot worth 10$ while new players get the core game, that cost 10$ before (as ANet states it’s even 100% free now)
Problem solved.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Same here ^^
3 char slots for 1 new profession… Yaaaay
But hey, maybe the elite specialisations give you a reason to have multiple chars because all of them are awesome
All we wanted was a GvG.
I can tell you why I pre-ordered it. Its true we have no clue how much content there is going to be but we know what Anet did so far. They spent 2 1/2 years releasing content constantly while working on the expansion. Content thats heavy on story which is something I like. That contrasts with other MMOs I’ve play were you hardly get any content updates while they develop an expansion and the content you get if any is generally dungeons you’re meant to repeat over and over and thats content I personally dont particularly enjoy. I am happy to buy the expansion just based on that premise never mind that chances are this is going to be repeated for the next 2-3 years.
Then there is what they have revealed so far. Guild halls are big features with lots of goodies (new crafting profession, Arena, decorations, huge map etc..) Specalizations that if you factor in skills and traits they provide they’re like 2 new professions (each specialization is 1/5 of a profession (1 heal vs 4, 4 utility vs 20 , 1 elite vs 5 1 trait line vs 5) with the revenant thats like they’re releasing 3 new professions (the equivalent) and expansions generally dont have more then 2 in my experiance. Then there is the whole trait and skill system rework which many expansions dont even touch.
So while yeah there is still alot that I havent heard about but what was revealed so far appear to be well done and plentiful.
This.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Just wait until the game releases and buy another char slot.
So pre purchase gives you a 10$ advantage if you trust ANet. Seems fair to me.

Guild Wars 2 HoT Release Date? [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Entenkommando.5208
Regardless of when it is, I find it disturbing that people are so willing to pre-purchase something with no release date. Hopefully after the community address they will reveal that soon. Wouldn’t a proper release date encourage sales? If you’re doing beta weekends then why isn’t a release date set in stone and ready to be announced?
I used to scoff at people who would try to encourage others not to pre-order a game, especially since it is becoming an industry standard to push this but now….maybe the consumer really would benefit more from waiting a while.
It’s a good thing that there is no release date. It gives them all the time they will need for open beta testing.
What would you prefer: waiting for a release date because they actually want a good game to come out or have a fixed date and start like ESO?
All we wanted was a GvG.
The question you should be asking yourself is, would this have been the result if we had listened and kept our mouths shut ?
YW for being loud and obnoxious, enjoy your character slot.
Well ok I should specify this…I totally agree with the right to complain about things.
But imo there was absolutely no reason to call HoT a complete desaster or things like this at that point.
And definitly this complete blind hate against everything was not justified. People acted like a mob in the middle Ages who blindly burned down anyone who was accused to be a witch.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I just find it kind of hilarious if people say that they are kittened, because they have to pay the full price for each expansion when it’s included for free after like 2 years.
They basically say “Whenever a player purchases GW2 they have to pay 50$ for the actual existing content. Since I already payed 60$ at launch I deserve to get every single expansion for free, because new players always only pay as much as I used to”
(Nothing personal against you macon, just a general statement)
All we wanted was a GvG.
The game has been out since almost 3 years. You can’t price it with 60$ anymore.
It has been on sale for 10$ in the last few months. 10$ are equivalent to 800gems which gives you a character slot.
So as a veteran you get HoT+character slot while new players get HoT+base game.
Both have the same value.
All we wanted was a GvG.
“In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.”
The above line was taken from the release that the company gave out today and I’m a little confused. So if they are going to offer a completed program when all of the material is given (core, expansions, etc) does that mean the people that are buying the products early could get shafted in the end by paying more now then later? Ecspecially consider that in buying the expansions we would be in fact purchasing the game again?
You will most propably get a gift as a veteran to balance the difference, just like now.
But there is nothing wrong about putting everything together with the new expansion. You will pay more because it’s new and you can play it now.
Or you wait 10 years and buy all future expansions for 50$ if you think that waiting is worth it
All we wanted was a GvG.
I don’t feel like necro beeing nerfed. (I play well ’o mancer)

The only thing I really dislike is the healing skill…but we’ll see.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I didn’t think you wanted to criticize me, I just wanted to state my position.
Though I really wish people would stop pre-ordering and buying season-passes and the like. Companies don’t make these offers out of the kindness of their heart but to more or less exploit the enthusiasm of their customers. Oh well, it’s a losing battle it seems.
And if that reads like criticism, it probably is
I also mostly stopped pre purchasing anything. But as he said…10 wonderful years without any major flaws is enaugh for me to trust them.
Just like I trusted them when spending 150$ on the first game without even knowing a release date.

The pre purchase seems to go until July 31.
I’d expect most information to be revealed until then.
With that at least ~4 betas as well as many stress tests again. (I guess there will be a whole lot of bugs and glitches with those new gliders)
I predict release for mid october.
All we wanted was a GvG.
You’re missing his point entirely. He’s obviously talking about maps filled with content, like they were in GW1 campaigns and the core GW2 game. He’s not blindly going to pay for Verdant Brink only. It’s actually a logical decision. He wants more info, and that’s his right.
I really love Guild Wars 1 but….what kind of “content” did you find in the maps besides 300 enemies to kill any maybe some generic NPC’s?
I don’t feel like there was a huge content density.

How would it make sense to explore less than entire Maguuma over time?
And from the streams there have been 2 maps discovered already.
Let’s assume it will be 3 in the end. Each with 3 biomes as A-Net said for a total size of 9 maps. 2 relatively big guild halls, 1 pvp map, 1 wvw map.
That makes a total 13 new maps. How does that sound to you?

Actually if you think about it…it took them 3 years to go to Maguuma Jungle.

All comes down to the cost:content ratio. Therefore I will not be prepurchasing since there is nothing to show how much content will be in the expansion.
It’s not about cost:content ratio, it’s about cost:playtime ratio
Yeah, and seeing how bad the PvE is in the current game, I have not seen enough to show that this feature pack will produce anything better.
As such I have mainly been a WvW player, the matchups right now are very stale, lots of people arent playing much any more; just a couple hours peak time then off to other games.
This pack brings one new map, which thankfully we can play on without buying HoT. But what else will we get? How long before the new maps become EOTMv2?For a WvW player the content and playtime still dont justify the cost.
It’s fine then.
I am a WvW player myself and I am 99% certain that I may only visit the new maps once.
But I am sure that I will spent at least another 1000 hours in WvW…HoT exclusive or not…that’s worth the 100$ for me.

What this address says to me:
Veteran players have to pay full price for an expansion every time.
New players will always have the cheapest deals. Thanks, ANet. Been with you for over 10 years and gave you money for the in-game stuff you release now and then. Instead of rewarding us, you just laugh at us and make us pay more. I can feel the love. I don’t need any more character slots. If I wanted more, I can just buy one with in-game money.
So to sum it up: You want to pay 50$ for the core game and get every expansion in the future for free, because then everything before will be included for new players?
How could someone find a flaw in this logic?

Good work on the Pre-Purchase Community Address. It all seems fair to me. Well done.
I still want to know exactly what I am getting before I open my wallet though.
- How many zones are there?
- How much content is here when compared with GW2’s base game?
- How much future content will require Heart of Thorns?
I’ll be happy enough with my two free slots from the Ultimate edition (I never had much restraint/sense when it came to MMO purchases) when I do pre-purchase it. And I’m 95% likely to.
But before I do that I’ll be waiting for the same information as Iason Evan and a release date.

B2P or not, I honestly don’t know how anyone could interpret what ANet is doing as being anything but a gouge. It would have cost them nothing (we are talking digital bytes here after all) to release the expansion as two versions… the standalone expansion at a lower price point for those who already have the game, and the bundled version at 50 bucks for the new players which saves them from buying game plus expac separately.
Because the expansion IS worth 50$ in their eyes.

He cant die. Traherne is like a virus, try to kill him and he’ll just mutate. He’s already replicated into an Asura (Gatt I believe he calls himself). He may be able to hide his appearance, but he cant hide his voice.
