Number 1 is a very bad idea. In the end you will either constantly move up and down in your tiers and roflstop/get roflstomped in the other tier or be stuck for ever as second in your tier.
Everything else looks very nice, even though I guess that the proposed point system wouldn’t change a lot about the current tactics. Take 2 full zerker mesmers that engage completely stealthed, burst down the dolly and stealth away for ever. And inbetween there will still be a 60-70 blob running on the map. The upgrade system is a nice idea but in the end you will have your main keep upgraded and all other incomes will be decided by flipping wooden keeps again. Just besides that the server with most coverage (and auto upgrading keeps) will generate even more incoming points during off times.
Let’s see what the new maps bring. Looking at the past we will have to deal with the new conditions again for ~2 years without any changes…
All we wanted was a GvG.
They are a nice and cheap way to get any armor stats you want to test out with your character, so I will definitly keep mine.

Can’t wait to get all my bags by simply reflecting everything.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Anet logic, lets make it worse and let guilds call airstrikes on keeps and towers…..
That’s just stonemist.
And atm it’s changing owners more often than sentries so some better defense is definitly nice.

thief is fine imo

All we wanted was a GvG.
Remove the rewards because WvW borders are literally overcrowded with people running k-train for those massive and rediculously high rewards compared to other gamemodes?
/sarcasm off
All we wanted was a GvG.
these achievements are a running gag and thankfully the folks who are into wvw can take a joke
It would have been less work to just implement a picture of a middle finger tho =P
All we wanted was a GvG.
Even if the thief specialisation is awesome for pvp i will not buy it at it’s current price, i will buy it wen it’s on discount, even then i will not buy it for more than 20€.
Imo a trate line and a weapon set is not woth 50€.
I’m just wondering what all those people expect?
50$ worth of pvp only content, 50$ worth of wvw only content, 50$ worth of pve content?
I guess I don’t need to go deeper in maths…
All we wanted was a GvG.
From my fighting experience I’d also say that fsp is a good alternative.
But I definitly wouldn’t recommend deso if you want good fights outside of keeps…
Depending on your playstyle I can say that sfr is much more active outside of weekend, so if you have a lot of work and like to play on weekends there may not be that much happening (as you can also see on the actual scores). But Monday-Thursday you ususally got a lot of guild raids running in case you are interested in joining their fights.

Pick Sfr if you want to get wiped allover the place and go for PPT and pvding only.
Pick FSP if you wanna go balls deep and scare kittens like SFR into their towers and keep hiding from all the cruel things we do to them.
I almost laughed a bit.
You never hear a single time in ts that anyone cares about ppt. It’s rather like “Let’s attack that keep there. Maybe they will finally come and fight.” If you don’t come we are of course doing pvd…it’s about you coming to defend.

Seafarer’s Rest almost always goes for good open field battles.
All we wanted was a GvG.
So why are there almost always more burst than condi classes when condis are so op?
All we wanted was a GvG.
Necro sustain ist more than fine.
I’d personally love to have some kind of stability/stunbreak when running wells, but I guess that’s the tradeoff for doing a kitten ton of damage.
I never had more problems surviving than other classes. In WvW my full zerker necro is always one of the last to be alive, if you play PvP…simply don’t get hit, play passive and place your damage where it’s needed. I’m still playing full zerker and even though it got a little harder I can’t complain about major issues.
“Attacking is the best defense” – that’s your credo.
All we wanted was a GvG.
When did you experience ANet giving a kitten about active WvW community the last time?
All we wanted was a GvG.
“Active WvW player” in Anet terms is probably anyone who’s made it to around rank 300 since launch. I think we all know how casual-minded Anet is in these situations.
I bet they take all the active “WvW” players that are 24/7 eotm farming.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Please give us separate weapons as well. It’s so annoying to swap every time I wanna do pvp or leave it.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I don’t think this would be a good addition. It makes stuns and interrupts so much stronger. Imagine this: you wanna cast your healing skill? Interrupt. You wanna cast your elite skill? Interrupt. You wanna do your strong weapon combo? Interrupt.
All this is possible already if you have the skill for it. And it should definitely require that level of skill.
Also it would make stun lock even easier because you could see the exact time when you need to recast it. That would be horrible.
All we wanted was a GvG.
absolutely keen to see this endless dodges/blocks build. please link
Tools traitline?
All we wanted was a GvG.
rip engis.
So true.
All that is left now is massive heals, literally endless defense with dodges/blocks, endless condition spamming combined with quite high condi damage, very good direct damage and a kitten load of cc/kd.
This nerf is definitly not fair for engis. I mean, what shall they do now???
All we wanted was a GvG.
Lucky accounts exist 100% for sure. You simply can’t deny it anymore.
Especially when you compare precursor drops from the mystic forge.
All we wanted was a GvG.
You’re doing it wrong.
Roughly the same build, same exact armor set, same weapons, same playstyle. I’m not the only thief who’s having problems. This most recent patch has negatively affected the thief class, you can’t deny that. Especially in WvW.
Just play differently. You can’t expect everything to work the exact same way like before. Otherwise what would we need a patch for?
All we wanted was a GvG.
Moa counters everything. Pls nerf moa.
All we wanted was a GvG.
I feel quite kiddened by the WvW development as well.
But you have to consider that it takes a massive amount of work to fix those issues. You need to look through millions of lines of code to even locate the issue. Not to mention all the effort to fix it. Especially when it’s something with direct impact on hardware. Think about all the things that happen simultaniously when 2 zergs rush against each other. All the skills, all the effects. And all of this has to be optimized to make sure that everything runs smooth.
I just give them my good will there, and hope that they at least fix everything with the addon.
(And also I guess that there are not many coders assigned to WvW since I suppose that there is not a lot to do)
All we wanted was a GvG.
@OP: you spoke about watching older streams. Before or after the patch?
I don’t like watching GW2 at all. The pvp is just extremely boring (also mostly because of the conquest. But even watching stronghold was boting)
WvW is quite nice to watch because you can at least see the dynamics. You don’t need to know skills or anything. But you can see melee train, spikes, fakes, regroups. You see the action.
Look at some nice gvg or hero’s ascend matches from gw1.they are fun to watch.

Why only 4 baseline Legends and not 5?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Entenkommando.5208
Ventari, Jalis, Mallyx and Shiro would be similar to elementalist’s elements, and could each be more or less tied to a traitline, with fifth as of yet unknown traitline for representing energy management and general utility
We do kind of know that the Legends will cover all possible mechanics in the game.
Jalis is very tanky, Ventari is heal/support, Mallyx represents condition damage.
Shiro would most likely represent direct damage.
Maybe Glint will be something special. Or did I miss something?
All we wanted was a GvG.
I never do badly in pvp, in any game I play.
You need 0 skill (Which I have, 0.)
Just cut out the unimportant things.

Why only 4 baseline Legends and not 5?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Entenkommando.5208
Why do some of you assume Revenant is only getting 4 baseline legends instead of 5?
Each legend provides 3 utility skills.
3*4= 12 utility skills,
Vs
3*5= 15 utility skills. Also elite spec could likely add an additional legend on top of the baseline legends.
Ventari, Jalis, Mallyx, Glint, Shiro

Please ban every engi exploiting this in competitive pvp.
I’ve been running zerker engi for a loooooong time cos I find cele boring.
And now cos ANet broke made barrage I should either be forced to play some condi cancer or be banned?
If you know that you are abusing a bug it should be in your own interest of fairplay not to use this specs until it is fixed.
You’d also complain if all guards GS2 would suddenly trigger 15x instead of 7×.
Blame ANet. But don’t take other players fun. You could be on the other side as well.
All we wanted was a GvG.
It is an obvious bug.
Using bugs knowingly and to get an unfair advantage over other players is called exploiting.
Exploiting is forbidden.
Simple as that.
A simple ingame example would be: “Why are people getting banned for item duplication? The game allows it so you can do it. I don’t understand why people should get banned for duplicating 1000 legendaries.”
All we wanted was a GvG.
Do you know the term “exploit” ?
Since you are using this bug to get an unfair advantage over other players it would definitly be a reason to be punished for, if you are using it excessively.
All we wanted was a GvG.
The pvp needs some small adjustments but it’s very nice overall.
Almost every class has some diversity now.
Mesmer, Guard, Necro, Ranger, Engi, Ele, they all can chose to go damage or condi. And all of them are very well playable at the moment.
Some even add tanky possibilities.
Some players may have to get used to the new combat strategies, and some changes may be a little bit too strong.
But in the end we have a very great build variety now. And this makes pvp much more interesting than before.
All we wanted was a GvG.
1. Everyone uses RF. You won’t be able to stop us from using it, unless you want to nerf it to a point where it will be weaker or equal to Elixir S or Mistform while beeing an elite skill.
2. I played bunker and medi until now but burn guard seems to be a nice option too.
4. Haven’t found a lot to complain about.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Guard as a quick +1 should be easily possible if you know where your limits are.
All we wanted was a GvG.
They could make it like GW1.
Simple command for everyone to give up. (I mean since when can’t you surrender in combat?)
It is just horrible to play 4vs5 if someone leaves at the beginning. You should be able to end this quickly.
All we wanted was a GvG.
First of all waiting to see if and how everything balances itself.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Yeah that’s the best thing to do.
As soon as all you see is non varied meta…nerf the meta.
That keeps up the fun.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Bunker is fun.
They try to burst you twice and then they go away while you are laughing at them.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Necros are not op.
All you need is cc,and they are kittened
Ofc… Lich does a little high damage, but they drop in less than 3 seconds if you actually focus them (which people are just too stupid to do)
All we wanted was a GvG.
Without a meta you can test whatever you want, you don’t know what you are up against, and I’m about to say it… You learn to play.
Everything would be easier if anet understood that pve and pvp need separate balancing and therefore you need to work completely separate on the skills there.
They did it in the first game. And they did it well.
All we wanted was a GvG.
The point is: once people understand when you are goint to overwhelm them they can evade it. And then they can counter you. And you will remember it. And then both of you will have to pay attention the next time.
It just needs some time. If everyone knows how to play zerker, everyone know the weak points of a zerker. And everyone knows how to hide those weak points.
This is, for what I’m hoping at least, will make fights more interesting once people get used to it. And who knows…maybe over time there will be a counter-meta developed.
You never know. That’s the beauty of PvP.
(Or maybe I just remember GW1 too much where you could always build up the craziest and most creative counters against anything that was meta right now.)
All we wanted was a GvG.
I agree that necros have been very bad for tournaments. And balance seems quite nice as well (besides ANet’s favourite little warrior ^^)
But I’m definitly looking forward to see the overall changes there. Watching those fights used to be extremly boring for me. Maybe this will change.
And since you won’t see a 5v5 zerker meta there it will be very interesting to see what people will come up with.
As I said: I personally like this kind of challenging pvp rather than having 5 chances to undo your mistakes. It forces you to think about using your dodges, using your defensive skills and it forces you to pay attention to what the enemy is doing. Every mistake will be heavily punished and you may only have one second chance.
All we wanted was a GvG.

Necros are a great support for your team. Just a very agressive kind.
The only problems are lack of movement and low defense against cc. But on a close combat map like Forest and Temple they are a wonderful addition to your team. (I have to admit that they are quite weak on legacy for example)
And I basically just wanted to point out that as a necro main, one of the worst classes considering self defense against cc, I still like the damage changes.
I already got used to recieving a lot of damage and I know how to avoid it. So to come back to your question: I do say l2p..or at least get used to it. It’s not hard.
I do like beeing punished heavily for making mistakes. Now you have to play smart if you want to stay alive.
All we wanted was a GvG.
(edited by Entenkommando.5208)
Are you telling veterans who have been PvPing with years and criticizing the flaws of every Meta/patch, including this one, to “L2P”?
Hmmm…I’m playing PvP since beta, soooooo…..YES
All we wanted was a GvG.
It was really stupid. As of right now I’ve need bunker guards handle a 2v1, but blow up once a third player arrives. Plus a thief can focus down a bunker guardian, although it’ll take a while. There is absolutely no reason to allow a single guardian hold down 3 people.
Not to mention shoutbow alone killed so many possible condition builds and could kill players 1v1 without taking a dink in their health.
_
That being said, bunker guardian is legit now. However, bunker guards need to learn ditch point once they get outnumbered. There is no shame in leaving a point and regrouping with your team as it’s no longer ideal trying to defend a point with 3+ players smashing your face in.
As I said, last meta players were conditioned to not be punished for making mistakes. Trying to 1v3 is always (and should be) a big mistake.
I agree. Why do you think it’s a bad thing if a bunker can only keep 2 people busy? It’s still one guy less for your teammates.
And if they need 3 guys to take you down…it’s 2vs4 for the rest of your team.
I don’t see a problem here. (And maybe there can even be a teammate helping you…just saying)
All we wanted was a GvG.
I just love how all these no-names are suddenly appearing telling pillars/veterans of the community “L2P” because their favourite insta-gank spec/class is suddenly not only viable but faceroll easy to play.
Honestly, anyone who thinks this current iteration of damage/balance is okay has no interest in the health of GW2’s competitive game mode, and is only interested in their instagib fun which is all PvP is right now.
I’m playing necro. I like the changes. I am not roflstomp.
All we wanted was a GvG.
Many people seem to have asked for it.
I don’t see a reason why he should not be allowed to ask for more feedback by the community.
