Toxic communities existed before LoL. In the MMO industry, it started with minor griefers and moved to extremely competitive games, such as DotA (where the game was extremely elitist) and FPS’s.

From DotA, the players moved to other games, like LoL. The reason why LoL’s community is terrible is because, no matter how hard you try, you fall into their ranks when playing with them nonstop. It’s usually always someone elses fault, so you call them out. But you don’t do it nicely because you’ve had a terrible day where everyone called you out in a very rude manner, so you call them out in a rude manner.

It’s a self-revitalizing (or bashing, in this case) cycle.

In GW2, the community CAN be toxic at times, but it, as a whole, is not toxic. Additionally, the vocal part of the community barely scratches the surface, whereas in LoL the vocal part mirrors the majority of the community itself.

I dunno, a lot of people that I know who did Light Up The Darkness did it to challenge themselves (and complete all the LS achievements), not because they wanted to brag about it.

Well, considering I only use Basics for salvaging Whites and Salvageables (not blues or greens… yet), I don’t see the point. Until salvaging greens becomes worth it, missing out on an upgrade doesn’t do anything to me…

Then again, neither does buying this as I still have (just under) 7,500 salvage uses from Lionsguard Lyns.

At the rate that I salvage, it’ll take a few years to break even, much less make money off of this (and that would mean me salvaging greens and blues, because when I salvage blues + whites + salvageables, I go through about 1-2 salvage kits a week).

So let’s say that I salvage everything I get (except Greens, Rares and Exotics). Let’s say I salvage 500 items a week (over-generous salvaging).

It’ll still take me 1111 weeks to break even. If you want that in years, that’s just over 21 years of salvaging.

Thanks for overpricing an item that worse than what we already have, Arenanet. And with that said, I might still buy it just because it says stuff and I’m too rich for my own good. :3

At the current market price of Gold -> Gems of 3.61g per 100 gems, it will cost 28.88g to buy this.

The item it mocks costs 88c for 25 uses, meaning 3.52c per use.

At the rate of .52c savings (yes, 0.52c savings per usage), it will take you 555384.615 salvages.

So yes, just like all the other infinite items, this is a convenience item, but it’s much less of a convenience item than the other items (since they pay themselves off a lot faster).

Better get salvaging, folks!

As a locust, I don’t disagree with the time-gating, and I’m glad that they put it in.

Level new character to level 80 using new keybinds in PvE only (no dungeons, no crafting, no WvW, no Living Story… okay maybe a little Living Story).

Change what does and does not work only every 10 levels.

I got the MF conduit and love it, for 50g, it helps keep me from going to town when my inventory is filled. Also towns/merchants are everywhere, but the mystic forge is only in LA. So having your own portable & permanent MF does come in handy. Also it’s resellable after using it, & there will not be any more produced, so the price will eventually rise. It’s a convenience & an investment item.

Actually the MF is also everywhere.
You can use the one in Heart of the Mist. The main drawback is losing your stacks if you happen to be using one of those sigils.

Yeah but loading the pvp map for the sole purpose of the MF is hardly convenient. Yes, it will save you a couple silver, but it’s not anymore convenient or more accessable then lions arch, because you have to load the map traveling thier and wait for it again to load, while traveling back.

I prefer going to the side borderland. There’s banks, guild banks, repairs, crafters…

So because you’ve completed every limited achievement so far (all of which have been ridiculously easy bar MKC) then for Arenanet to have the audacity to release a challenging achievement that is MEANT for only the toughest of veterans to challenge themselves with (see hardcores) is clearly, CLEARLY, CLEARLY too much.

I agree, content that requires dedication, perseverance, and, most of all, an abundance of skill have ABSOLUTELY no place in this game. None at all.

I feel like the stat cap should be something that you can achieve (and surpass) with just one armorset.

This would make it viable to start running Carrion AND Rabid together and would improve diversity in builds. The only downside is it would come at a huge damage cost to the entire game.

Stat caps wouldn’t make a difference unless the stat caps were at ~1800 for any given stat. It still wouldn’t make Healing Power anymore viable.

The reason why I pulled 1800 out of my kitten is because it then forces players to mix and match their gear with nomenclatures to get the most out of it. You won’t have people running full-zerk because they’d just be wasting power/precision. It would also allow traits to make a difference in itemization instead of getting traits in addition to stacking certain coughzerker*cough*] gear.

Let’s give you a setup:
MH: Sigil of Battle.
OH: Sigil of Hydromancy.

2H: Sigil of the Geomancer.

Say you’re on your 2H weapon and you weapon swap to your MH/OH set.
The Sigil of Battle will proc putting Sigils on cooldown.
The Sigil of Hydromancy will try to proc, but Sigils are on cooldown.

Now, you wait for the weapon swap cooldown, which is the same as the Sigil on-weapon swap cooldown (9 seconds) and then you swap to your 2H weapon set.

Your Sigils are now off cooldown, so the Sigil of the Geomancer will try (and succeed) to activate.

Mounts are in the game already.

You don’t need to purchase Transmutation Stones as they’re already available by completing maps (which you should be doing if you’re PvE, anyways). If you’re plopping the skin onto a level 80 gear, you should be sure of your build beforehand, anyways, so there’s no point in buying Transmutation Crystals unless you’ve been Stoning your armor (but that’s a personal choice, just like wearing Cultural armor while leveling is a personal choice). Lastly, how would making people not spend money make Arenanet money?

Implementing a combat system like TERA’s would not make people spend money on the game.

It was purposely ridiciously childhood, it’s based on old video games, when games were first made they were more happier, think like mario, banjo kazooie, sonic. You missed the point. He’s saying that while SAB was liked by some players, it was not enjoyed by all universally. Some GW2 players do not like jumping puzzles; others hate how immersion breaking it became to see those pseudo 8-bit skins in their world. I personally am fairly indifferent about it and did not indulge in it a great deal.

The point is that if you do not like something, there’s no reason to complain about it or ask for its removal. Some players clearly enjoyed the Queen’s Arena and what it offered.

Seriously, don’t just think about yourself and how YOU felt after these changes. Think about how other people feel. I understand that Liadri is hard for a Warrior who’s used to pressing 2 keys. Mystic, everything in the top part is above the armor. (This is simple algebra, if you multiple everything together and divide it by one thing, it’s the same as re-writing it as all of it divided by that same thing. As long as you don’t add or subtract.)

The equation is…

([([Weapon Damage * Power] * Skill Co-Efficient) + Skill Base Damage] * Damage Modifier) / ([Toughness + Defense] * Armor Modifier)

This can be shortened to…

Damage Modifier(Derived Attack * Skill Co-Efficient + Skill Base Damage) / Derived Armor

Derived Attack = Power * Weapon Damage
Derived Armor = (Toughness + Defense) * Armor Modifier

As for Healing Power’s effectiveness, most Professions have a scaling of (on average) 1:1. Warriors have a healing skill with an effectiveness of 1:5 (Full Adrenaline Healing Surge).

The maximum amount of Healing Power able to be obtained is 1935 (25 stacks of Sigil of Life + 5 Healing Power Runes + 1 Healing Power Rune + Full Ascended Cleric/Apothecary Trinkets + Magi Backpiece with Magi or Cleric Jewel + Cleric or Magi or Apothecary Armor + Cleric or Apothecary or Magi Weapons + 30 Traits in Healing Power).

Using that, if you have a 1:1 scaling, you will get 1935 health from your skill.

If you have a 1:5 scaling, you will get 2902.5 health from your skill.

Healing Surge has a 30 second cooldown, and most healing skills with a 1:1 ratio have a 20 second cooldown.

I’m going to calculate the health/sec given by going full Healing Power (so we can compare it to rune of the dolyak).

With 1935 health/20 seconds, you get 96.75 health/sec (in addition to the base heal of your skill).

With 2902.5 health/30 seconds, you get 96.75 health/sec (in addition to the base heal of your skill).

Rune of the Dolyak gives 30 health/sec.

So, by speccing ENTIRELY around healing, you just made yourself 3x more effective than a single runeset at self-healing. This doesn’t count regeneration or AoE heals. Also, you will do very minimal damage with a build setup like that.

Let me give you another demonstration of why going full Healing Power is relatively useless:

Restorative Mantras is a Mesmer Trait. When you finish charging a Mantra, you heal in an AoE (~450 radius). The base heal is 2600, it has a scaling of 5:1 (5 healing power → 1 health).

With 1935 healing power, you get a bonus 387 health.
That means that if you spec SPECIFICALLY TO HEAL you will bring your heal from 2600 to 2987. AMAZING~! Or you can go full zerk and just heal in an aoe for 2600 (it’s actually going to heal for 2640 because you need to get some healing power to trait).

The efficiency and effectiveness of Healing Power, in MOST BUILDS, is subpar.

With that said, I’m running a hybrid support build utilizing Restorative Mantras and Boon Duration to apply AoE 25 Might for 20 seconds while topping up my allies. I run Zerker trinkets and Weaponry. Givers armor (old armorset I had from a long time ago) with Boon Duration Runes to hit 46% Boon Duration. + 30% from Traits + 10% from Signet = 86% Boon Duration + AoE Boon Share + AoE Healing + Still deal decent damage.

Think twice before grabbing [too much] healing power.

I haven’t yet figured out what armor she wears, but I’ve got her facial features, skin color (I hope), and stuff down. (Armor is level 14 greens for now because I’ve been leveling her in the Pavilion.)

Made her a Necro because she’s in perma-deathshroud (although some could argue that she’s a Mesmer with her Visions, but I like to think of them as her minions, not illusions).

I play at 15 fps normally.

At Liadri, I have 15 fps.

I have every temporary achievement in the game.

Have you really only ever used invisible bags to keep mini pets out? If that’s the case, they have uses other than that.

Oh, I know they have uses. Most people, on the other hand, don’t.

Step 1 to memorizing the pattern: Use the same arena.

The sigils can proc when no conditions are on you, thus forcing the 10 second cooldown into effect. If you’re constantly getting conditions [re-]applied to you, you’ll see it work.

That works. When applying on-hit sigils, the mainhand will take priority then the offhand (aka, the mainhand will try to proc, then the offhand. If the mainhand procs, the offhand will not.)

I got all my achievements before finishing 100 fractals… o-o, they’re not that hard (The Floor is Lava requires you to not touch the lava fonts that the boss spouts. With enough reflects, you shouldn’t worry about his attacks and then it’s just positioning).
