Tbf, most of the female armour is “over-sexualised” .. … \=
Do you think the same about a naked male chest? Most things are only over-sexualised if you perceive it as such.
I wonder if I will live to see the day when women’s breasts are no longer seen as sexual. Espesially odd blue versions of them. Sure you can do sexual things with them, but so can you with male nipples which are socially acceptable to be on full display. Now I am not saying we should all go through life topless, but it is the choice of the person on how they dress. I can get quite tired of women having to explain themselves and having to decide every time again if they can wear something where no such things happen for men. Double standards much? (And then only for a video game where it is not even real life.)
The mention of w@nkers in this thread shows exactly what I mean.
For now until they have that implemented, you could go to the leaderboards for achievement points, log in, select your guild and check when the achievement points of your members were last updated (shows when you mouseover). It is what I use to track activity until something more solid is implemented.
I would like to be able to queue while in the zone for the overflow I want to join with my partymember when that overflow is full. So I do not have to spamclick “join in …” . When I have clicked that, I like to be put in a queue and being able to travel to my partymember when there is space for me.
Thanks for the answer.
How do you leave a squad in case you want to join another one? Might as well ask here since I am learning so much from this thread.
As an adult, I question the use of ribbons entirely. Whilst they’re there, however, the ease and extent of recolouring options is depressing.
Adults do use ribbons. You can question them because you dislike them, but the adult argument does not really work.
I would also question the thinking behind your statement, specifically the part where you declared I dislike said hair item.
I meant that that would be a better argument, not that you dislike said hair per se. Written communication FTW.
REALLY?
Nobody knows… JOIN SQUAD???
This argument have no sense… Umbra why u are requesting a expensive tag? If you want see the tag, you see, if u don’t… JOIN to your favorite commanderIts simple
To be honest, hardly anybody knows this. When we had our WvW run yesterday with the guild I went like: “Ok, I am going to sound stupid and most likely you already know this, but I just learned this week on the forums on how to join a squad.” Turned out nobody in our guild knew how to do it. There is no information in game on how to join a squad. We are just a small group, so we do not run with a commander of our own.
For me it is not about whether a commander is worthy or not. When there is 1 tag in a map, I can decide to follow or ignore it. No further tools needed. But when there are multiple tags and they all look the same and I want to follow one, then it is nice when I can disable the tags of the other commanders on my screen.
Is this a complaint or stating facts? This is already in the game, right click tag and choose join. All other commander tags go away.
I did not know that. I feel so stupid now :P .

I think an improvement here can be made by not making it more difficult to obtain the tag, but to be able to hide the tag for certain players you feel you do not want to follow. Like the ignore function, but then only for not showing tag. Something in the social panel. I think Rod has a great idea there.

I think they make more money from people who buy duplicates then from the extra people who will buy it when they implement this change. I will only be buying once they implement this change, but I expect to be a minority.
I love the suggestion btw. Or have it mailed to each character once like other account upgrades.
I did not even try to keep up with those discussions. The one or two times I read parts of the thread there were some good ideas, but hard to find if your ideas were already covered or not. If discussions were split more I could focus more on the topics that interest me most and read up on those. Now I already know the discussion is such a giant, that I do not even try.
I love the design of it.
That was my idea as well Flameseeker. And maybe make it so that you can only increase the AR by playing fractals. That way you still have to start at the low levels for your account, but you won’t be limited to the one geared character after having played those.
So was magic find before they changed it.
Ever since the change to make fractal level account wide, I have been playing with the idea what would happen if Agony Resistance was made account wide. Much like the change they applied to Magic Find.
I am a casual fractal runner and overal gamer myself. I don’t expect to see lvl 50, but I am into the levels where agony starts to hit. When I want to play at that level, there is one character I can bring, even though the fractal levels are made account wide. If I want to bring an alt, I would have to put a lot of effort into gearing that alt, as I do not simply get stuff for alts by running fractals. Also I have so many alts at level 80 that I like to rotate and play, that I cannot simply decide on which one to gear up for AR.
So for me the fractal level being account wide did not change anything. For me it looked nice on paper, and that was that.
Personally I think this game is very alt friendly. You can decide what you do on which character and exotic gear is good for all content and easy to obtain. This is just the one small area where I would love to see a change to AR being removed from armor and be made account wide in favour for my alts. There are ofcourse details like what to do with the infusion slots, but I am confident those can be worked out once the decision for the change is made.
Before I felt the same about the ranks in WvW, but those are going to be account wide in the near future too
.
And it is such a bad thing to be a nerd
.
My wish list in no particular order:
1. Story mode unlock for dungeons to become account wide.
2. Agony resistance to become account wide, similar to magic find change. Nice to have the fractal levels account wide, but I am still stuck on that one character that has AR equipped.
3. More guild managing tools.
4. Guild halls please.
5. More love to our home instances please. Even with the added nodes I don’t really go there.
6. More ways to obtain ascended weapons and armor than just crafting.
7. Wardrobe for all skins.
Am I the only one feeling that with the fractal level having become account wide, agony resistance would benefit from being account wide too? Like the change they did for magic find. That would make the game a lot more alt-friendly in my opinion. For the other content it does not really matter if you are in exotic or ascended armor.
We do not mind if people are still levelling or are level 80
.
We are still looking for a few more players. Guild activity will be low during the holiday season ofcourse, but we want to be ready to pick all our activities up again at the start of next year
.
I think they can sell more skins when they apply this change. Now I can’t change skins back, so I am not using more than one look on any character. If they give them endless use on your account I expect ArenaNet to sell more of them instead of less, as people will be changing looks more freely.
Hello andhaha,
We could be the perfect guild for you if you can play on Desolation. Have a look at our recruitment post and feel free to poke me if you have questions.
Number 4 while playing the music of Sweeney Todd…
I finished it 8 times, have 2 ready for Zhaitan and more alts coming up
. You can call me crazy, but I like to play them (by that I mean the stories).
1. Dungeon story mode unlock account wide.
2. Better guild management tools.
3. Dungeon story mode unlock account wide.
Hello Aomame,
We, Modern Family, are not a LGBTQ guild, but we are friendly in the sense that we do not care about anyone’s sexual preference. You can expect respect from our members and patience while running activities together. We have a very mixed group covering ages from 18 up to in the 50’s, a lot of countries across Europe including, UK, NL, Scandinavia, Portugal etc. and quite a few of our members are female (including myself).
However, we are not superbig, with about 35 members at the moment who are mostly active in the evenings and weekends due to real life. So it is not always possible to find a dungeon group to jump straight into. But our members like to jump into dungeons and don’t mind running paths for people who still need them. Some of the longer paths are preferrably run by our members on weekend afternoons, which is quite easy to organise on our forums.
We organise weekly guild events, for which you sign up when you feel like joining, but there is no obligation to attent any of those. We run WvW on Monday (don’t expect skill from us in that area ;-), guild missions on Tuesday and organised dungeon runs on Thursday.
We play on Desolation and want all of our members to be on that server and represent us 100%.
If this all sounds interesting for you then please check out our recruitment post. And feel free to contact me here with a PM or in game if you have any further questions or are interested in joining.
Hello Synatics,
We are a medium sized guild full of patient members that like to help eachother. We play on Desolation. However, we mostly use our mumble during groupplay and use guildchat outside that. But whenever teaming up we easily jump onto there. Please have a look at our recruitment post. If interested feel free to send me a PM here or contact me in game on Esya.3427
If one cannot perform for whatever reason it is inconsiderate/unfair to hold a group back. This is true in GW2 and beyond.
See, this is where your argument is flawed. You use this argument believing everyone joins a group for the most efficient run. This is not the case. Some do, others prefer a more laid back approach like myself. When I am in a group with more hardcore players I try to adapt or leave. But when you are in a group with more casual/laid back players, you should try to adapt or leave. Your way of gaming is not better or worse than our way of gaming.
except that it is your argument that is flawed not his. You say you want to play casually and laid back. I would argue that this is not what you want at all. You say it is but it isn’t.
There is nothing currently in the game stopping you from getting a group together of all casual laid back people and having all the fun you want. Your method of playing isn’t restricted. However if I want efficient skilled players I have no method of finding them. If the majority of the group is casual laid back people then they won’t care about the DPS meter and they won’t have enough votes to kick you out.
A DPS meter changes nothing for you. You can still find people who are casual and laid back and group with them. However now I would be able to also find like minded players and we could hold ourselves to the standard we want for our group. It in no way effects you since as you stated you want to play with laid back people.
But that’s not really what you want is it? You want skilled efficient players to carry you and not kick you do to your subpar performance. You pretend to be an advocate for “fairness” and what is “right”, but really you just want to impose your playstyle on everyone and forbid anyone from playing in a way that you deem “wrong”.
I know what I want and it is a laid back relaxed way of gaming. Not rushing and aiming for highest DPS. You do not have to tell me what I want, as you would not know. That you cannot imagine that people prefer this, does not mean that we do not want it.
You have as many ways to find people that like your gaming style as have I. By asking you will find out. We do not know either before joining a dungeon too, unless people give that kind of info in their LFG beforehand or by asking them.
Also you do not know if my performance is sub-par. We never played together. Just because there are people who want a relaxed gaming session, does not mean their skills or performance is sub-par or that they need to be carried. I carried way more people than who carried me, if I ever was.
And I never said that a certain way of gaming was wrong. I used to be more hardcore in the past and enjoyed it then. As I said, different people, different likes, play with those who have a similar preferance.
So according to you I am judgemental and have a sub-par performance, just because I suggest that likeminded players should play together and I prefer a more laid back approach? But according to the last paragraph of your quote it is you who judges me without knowing me at all.
If one cannot perform for whatever reason it is inconsiderate/unfair to hold a group back. This is true in GW2 and beyond.
See, this is where your argument is flawed. You use this argument believing everyone joins a group for the most efficient run. This is not the case. But when you are in a group with more casual/laid back players, you should try to adapt or leave. Your way of gaming is not better or worse than our way of gaming.
This always gets a heated debate as we are a lot of different people with a few different playstyles. Best advice that I can give is to not try to convince eachother of your attitude, but appreciate that we have different ones. Try to find likeminded players and play together with them.
In that sense it is not fair for 4 hardcore gamers having to carry a what they could call “an underperformer”. But it is also not fair for 4 casual gamers having to take the comments of 1 hardcore gamer when doing a dungeon together or having to rush after him. The first view is more accepted than the 2nd one, but they are really the same. Both type of players are right.
Now for DPS meters, in the end they do more harm then good. They tend to segregate the community more than bringing it together (as already shown by this discussion). I understand there are people who want to theorycraft, for that personal meters would be good. It should not be used as a tool to pass judgements on others, as noone is wrong by enjoying a game the way they want to.
And in my opinion if you are hardcore, you can see who is not pulling their weight. You can see who is on the floor more often, has difficulty getting out of aoe, stays in water attunement when everyone is full health etc. Also if you are more laid back and not going for only highest DPS, you can see who cares or not. You can see who has a likeminded attitude as yourself and who has not, but lets not judge. Try to find and play with players who have a similar attitude so that we can enjoy the game alongside eachother.
Yes we are still recruiting, I sent you a PM.
Hello Betleebum,
We are a small (about 40 members of which a few have become inactive and will get removed soon) that is chill and casual and play on Desolation. But I am not sure if we are too casual for you. We only have one person at high level fractals who runs it with people outside our guild, the rest of our members prefer to run them at lower levels (my level is 12 :P ).
We are however nice people who do not kick players who are learning and are patient. If interested you can have a look at our recruitment post.
If you find us too casual for your liking then no harm done. Goodluck finding a guild that suits you!

Hello Presac,
We, Modern Family, play on Desolation and have weekly WvW, guild missions and dungeon night. During dungeon night we do the dungeon of preference from the group and a lot of our members don’t really mind where they go anymore. Outside those activities you can always ask for a dungeon group. We use mumble, but mostly during group play and guildchat outside that.
Feel free to have a look at our recruitment post.
Goodluck finding a guild of your liking!
Activity is really picking up. We succesfully completed a guild puzzle and are pushing for guild challenge too. If you are looking for a social, casual friendly and active guild on Desolation, then we would like to have you!
Don’t fall for the trick of small talk about town clothing. Ofcourse she wants us to be in town clothing when she strikes!
I am happy about this change, but I am still not buying them. But I would make them so little money if they implement the change that I want, that I will just keep using the tools available in game
. I would like the tools to go to all my characters, existing and new, via the mail after purchasing. Like an account upgrade with the hero’s band. It is so not worth the hassle for me with the amount of characters that I have, as I will be at a node without the tool at some point.
Still happy to see they make changes like this.
The gold whispers are picking up at the moment, therefore I assume that so are the bots. They first need to be there and reported before ArenaNet can act on them. I don’t know what happened that caused their numbers to go up (4 whispers in 2 days where before no whispers for months).
We are steadily growing and are still looking for a few more players.
Heya Redguard, we are based on Desolation and you can find more information about us in our recruitment post.
Hello Lukh,
What kind of guild are you looking for? If you are looking for a somewhat smaller guild where people know eachother, then we might be a good fit for you. Our members like to run dungeons on a regular basis. They do like to run fractals every now and then, however do not care to progress far. I think the majority gets their fractal lvl up to 12. So if you are looking for a laid back and casual friendly guild, then please check out our recruitment post.
Hello Andurin,
Sounds like we could be a match! For information please have a look at recruitment post.
We are on Desolation, so no need for a transfer. We mainly focus on PvE and our members don’t mind to rerun dungeons for anyone who needs. We do not require you to speak on our voice comm, as long as you can listen in. Our guildchat might be a bit quiet during the day when we are busy with our real life or when we are on mumble during guild events. We hardly use our voice comm outside guild events and rely on guildchat then.
Sylvari: VS Zombies
For the Dutch people: Beau Ter Ham
Charr: Paw Pawpaw
We recruited a few new members who are currently settling in. We are still looking for more players to strengthen our roster. We had a first attempt at guild puzzle last week and almost made it on our very first try!
We, Modern Family, are looking for a few more players to strengthen our roster. We are a guild that has been around for a long time that cares for its members. We run with a medium size roster (30-40 members) in order for people to get to know eachother. Our members focus on PvE mainly. Currently our biggest challenge is to get enough players join our weekly guild missions run, so that we can try the bigger content (guild puzzles and guild challenges).
What do we require from you?
- Be on Desolation server. We have offered guild spots to people on other servers in the past for a trial period before changing server, but this has not worked out for us.
- 100% representing our guild.
- Be 18 years old or older (the average age within the guild is around 30).
- Be able to atleast listen on Mumble (we love people talking too, but we do not require this).
- Once accepted in the guild to register at our website.
What can you expect from us?
- Weekly casual guild WvW run on Monday. As long as we are having fun.
- Weekly guild missions run on Tuesday. Guild missions done depends on the amount of people joining.
- Weekly organised dungeon runs on Thursday.
- No obligations to attent any of the activities, sign up when you want to join!
- A relaxed atmosphere within the guild.
- A website to stay in touch outside the game.
In case you have more questions or are interested in joining, feel free to PM me on this forum or when I am online (Esya.3427).
