I would wait for SAB to come back, that’s when the skins were at their peak and odds are once new skins drop, people who missed SAB the first time around will want a crack at the old skins and may pay a premium for it.

On the other hand, you are probably 1 of 1000+ people waiting to post their SAB weapons at that time so it may very likely get into an undercutting war and thus less value.

It’s very hard to predict the future value if you don’t know what the supply available actually is. I know I personally have a GS, 1h sword, staff, shield, backpack, and scepter waiting to put up and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I feel this exact same way. That’s about the inventory I have (sans backpack).

The other issue I’m worried about is that Josh might be wrong. He said, at the time, the skins were one time only, but that it wasn’t his decision. Somebody else (most likely higher up) may choose to bring them back, which would mean a completely massive dump of skins, probably GS going to 5-8gold if lucky.

I started off agreeing with you but the more I read, the less I agreed.

I do agree that they need to split PvP and PvE skills. This is by far the single biggest reason for the imbalance (maybe other than dev laziness or lack of testing).

However all the stuff you mentioned (nerf farming spots, wp fees, TP %) is to keep inflation down. This does NOT drive people to the gem store, because the gold to gem ration is based off a set amount. If it were a constant 2g=100gems then you would have a point. But the gem prices inflate and deflate (indirectly) with gold.

Those are all good choices. Mesmer is good for roaming in wvw but not running with 10 or more people.

Guardian is a front liner who provides a lot of boons (you can blast combo fields for allies) and had a lot of toughness/tanky builds whiel still doing damage.

Eles are on the same lines of guardian, where you can build for a tanky spec and run D/D or scepter/D, or be a back liner with a staff.

Thief is more of a roamer as well. If you zerg you can either go tanky and spin to win (dagger storm) in a zerg or pick off weaklings on the side of the opposing zerg. Spot a ranger pew pewing, stealth in, kill him, stomp, stealth out.

You can’t scream this is an exploit.

Lets look at this rationally. She spurts poison when everybody is spread out ranging. She does not spurt poison when everybody is stacked in a corner. Me thinks that the boss uses poison when she detects her target (or an enemy) is at range.

Therefore it seems like stacking on this boss was intentional, the stacking at the stairs keeps her close.

If it was buffed, I think it was a slight buff and not incredibly noticable.

My guildie got about 6 rares while I got 2 from fotm 38. Nobody got a skin, one person got a bad-stat infused ring.

I usually party with guildies and sometimes we need a 5th, or even 4th and 5th. We don’t troll people by kicking them at the end (except once, but wasn’t a troll, he just showed his true colors on maw). With that being said, if somebody is playing poorly, not listening, or just being a jerk, it’s extremely easy to kick them.

The problem with Stacking in a “safe” place.. Is too often they are not “safe”, yes you will not be hit by the rocks, but the entire team will take every cleave the boss does, and may even be knocked out and still get hit by boss.

So much better to run in with Grast, heal him when he takes damage. Fire off stability when he puts up the bubble. And possibly have a stunbreak or shield in case you do get knocked outside.

This is true now apparently (haven’t done it for awhile) but Grast used to not pop the bubble reliably. Therefore it wasn’t skill at all, but mostly buggy RNG to see if you would wipe or kill the boss. That’s why people started stacking in the corner by the pillar, instead of relying on the not-so-reliable Grast.

Get the point? Sure, mesmers can take you 1v1. But what do I do when I get to a tower? I sit there trying to pull off an unsuspecting enemy, that’s it. PvE, usually more than 1 mesmer is a waste, all you really need is the utility.

Mesmer’s aren’t “OP” because more often than not you lose to one 1v1.

Those are bad rules. Many high DPS/fast attacking parties might choose to focus on getting some of the adds down before focusing on the shield, especially if it’s in the middle.

You need to learn the boss/encounter. Most of these “bosses that one shoot you” have ample time before to switch to weapons.

I also have an ele. You are only locked to one weapon set during combat. I’m mainly D/D but will switch to staff in wvw if we are coming to a keep, or switch before a boss that I know is easier/safer to range than melee.

This game FAVORS melee. D/D ele destorys most content. People prefer GS warrior over longgow/rifle. People prefer D/D ele over staff ele, people prefer D/D thief over sbow thief, people prefer sword/anything mesmer over GS mesmer.

You play one class and one weapon set and that’s how you determine this game doesn’t favor melee? Here’s a hint, if you want to go melee, don’t pick a ‘magical’ based class.

You take berserker gear. Knights wont matter at high level.

I’ve only been using GS now to step back and heal up a bit before going back in with a sword/focus. I wonder if scepter/pistol or scepter/sword would be better.

my fiance also has exotic AC (PTV) gear as a warrior. I keep trying to get her to switch to Berserker gear for easy paths like CoF p1, but she says she dies fast enough already.

Stay PTV until you learn the paths enough to go full berserker. The part that sucks about it (I have a zerk thief and mesmer), is that you really only shine when everybody else is full zerker, like CoF or Fotm, otherwise the things just don’t die fast enough.

The thing is though: at high enough level anything will one-shot you regardless of PVT/Zerk gear, so running PVT at high levels is pretty pointless. The best strategy to deal with higher levels is to find ways to mitigate as much damage as you possibly can.

Do people really go full zerker in higher fotm? I’m 30+ but I can’t see how I can survive trash with 2100 armor. I’m not talking about guild group where you get perfect combination of classes and skills. I mostly pug and I’m currently running 6 piece knight armor w/ everything else berserker.

I rarely PUG anymore but yes, I run full zerker as a mesmer. I try to sword/focus melee as much as possible, but if I get low I’ll step back to GS till I recover.

I do have 2 pieces of jewelry as PVT, because I go PVT in WVW.

I’ve been told (i’m not someone who jumps through the portal i tend to anchor myself on a siege weapon xD), that you can cast some aoes as you launch through the portal and it’ll fire through it first.

My guildies were trying to teach a new ele how to do it with Glyph of Storms, i was just kinda glancing at chat, but that’s the gist of what i got from it, i can ask our WvW person for more confirmation.

Interesting. That would make sense as I know you can start a stomp, portal, then come back and finish it (thanks to osicat).

I wonder how that would work, because most aoes that I’m thinking of our ground targeting, so I wonder if that would switch or not. I guess it would work with some ele ones like D/D earth #4,5

I’m sure i missed it in your video Osicat, but I’m a newer player and have heard the term portal bomb. The term was used when assaulting a towers gates and i had no clue how to preform it. I am no where close to a good Mesmer yet, hopefully with lots of practice one day, anyways can someone give a brief explanation of a “portal bomb”. Thank you all in advance for any help.

Mesmer drops portal entrance. Zerg stacks on it. Mesmer pops veil, decoy, mass invis, torch #4, etc. to stealth up to opposing zerg, blinks behind, in the middle, or to the side of the enemy zerg, and drops the exit portal. The friendly zerg then takes the portal and crushes the opposing zerg because of the culling and sneak attack.

Portal now only allows 20 people to go through, it used to allow infinite.

Edit: Not sure about other tiers, but new meta seems to be chain veiling. 3,4,5 mesmers stagger veil and call out when they drop it. This allows the zerg to stealth rush to the enemy zerg

I would like to see some minor changes to fractals in general. They have been around long enough and could use some TLC. I would also like to see the option of getting amulets and trinkets from the fractal vendor. I do not understand why they are not available to us. Forcing players to do daily and monthly content for laurels just to get these items seems silly since they are needed in order to complete fractals 40-48. I would like options to spend my 3000 relics and 120 pristine relics plz.

6 months ago they gave you the answer, and people still can’t figure it out.

Why greatsword? I would take staff for chaos storm (put it around them for conditions or on your clones for protection/aegis). You can also phase retreat out of it for chaos armor, plus the chaos armor on the staff, plus the phantasm that does damage off conditions, plus the 5sec (if traited) phase retreat, plus the clones spamming projectlis applying conditions.
