we have people exploiting the spawning system for dynamic events by preventing the event from finishing in order to farm.game.
That is not an exploit. You are not capitalizing on a game bug. You are using game mechanics perfectly within the realm of normal gameplay. Anet never said that every event has to go to completion as fast as possible.
If you start going down your method of thinking, using clerics gear instead of zerk gear is exploiting because you’re killing the giant slower therefore allowing more mobs to respawn.
Being a ranger is an exploit because you could be killing it faster as a warrior.
lol Try to get a totally awesome feature into a game to make it more convenient and watch how people complain just for the sake of complaining. Classic~
Thank you, Anet! This is a totally great feature!
Lol, nailed it. My thoughts on most of the threads on the forums actually.
Great list OP. Thanks for the diligent work. +1 vote for sticky

LOL! But the search feature requires SO MUCH WORK!
Everybody likes to call out Arah. People didn’t farm Arah for money.
Farmers will find the new Meta farm (probably CoF p1&2, CoE all, AC all, TA up) and may even be more money, who knows.
Thanks for all the [Fang] love. Anybody who is interested in joining or wants more details please feel free to PM me on here or in game.
Just for the record, transferring to SoS (awhile back) was the best decision I ever made. EVER!
Holy Whine Batman! You little spoiled brats will complain about everything. Get your head out of your butts and you’ll realize that this is better for the game.
People didn’t grind Arah for money. This is better for Arah runners because they will now be rewarded more for doing what they were already doing.
CoF p1 was what was farmed for money. This was stupid and boring after about 10-15 minutes. They are now giving you more incentive to go out and do other dungeons. It would be incredibly easy (and more exciting) to do CoF all paths, CoE all paths, AC all paths.
The only people getting hurt are the baddies who only ran CoF p1 over and over again, forgetting what dodging and teamwork is.
FYI I’m not slamming all CoF runners. It’s good money and some talented people do it. But it was way too easy for baddies to make a lot of money that way without learning how to play.
If you don’t think cof p1 requires teamwork then you’ve never run it in an optimised group. Sure, most of the teamwork was just everyone utilising their own muscle memory, but it was still a factor, and doing what you want will just make the party get wiped.
And yes, the incentive to do other dungeons is a good goal, but the way they’ve done it seems to leave a bit to be desired because of the one word:
daily.
sigh FYI I’m not slamming all CoF runners. It’s good money and some talented people do it. But it was way too easy for baddies to make a lot of money that way without learning how to play.

CoF will still be done more than Arah, but this will lessen the reward difference.
Also, if you have enough time, maybe you do CoF p1 & 2, then you go to CoE all paths, then you go do AC all paths etc etc
I agree. I don’t really see a downside to this.
This obviously has to be a mistake…. right? If it’s intended, no clue what to do with these zerk hammers on my mesmer
Is anybody looking into this or has anybody encountered this?
I would just like to know if you should or shouldn’t be able to. I’d hate for it to be considered an exploit if I just use PTV hammers. Also, now I have 4 hammers just sitting there with nothing to do
I bought 4 wvw exotic hammers with soldier stats. I put them in the MF and got back Knight’s Pearl Crusher. That’s all good.
I went back and got 4 wvw exotic hammers with zerker stats. They do not show up in the MF. I can’t drag them over and use them. Why would one weapon stat set work and another doesn’t?
I bought them from same vender in EB. I bought them from the same page. They aren’t skins as they have the zerk stats. Any ideas?
*reported in game as well
Full zerk.
Use dodges and invulns/evades/prot to mitigate damage.
Bloomhunger is easy to melee. If you don’t have aggro stand behind him.
people are just going to tell you what they need to sell quickly to make them selfs profit and by the sound of how you look at things i wouldn’t blame them for trying have you ever played a Mmo your not being forced to play thats your choice and your not paying a subscription Monthly fee of currency this is a game your choice to play daily all if not most mmos have a daily aspect to them if they didn’t people would get bored fast because they could complete the ‘weekly" they need to do in one day dailies keep people hooked go play wow and then tell me you don’t like to play P2P games
Have you ever used a period?
Also, what are you even saying?
Haha, I’m glad you’re not serious.
RHCE made me chuckle, although a crucible doesn’t have to be hot.
You’re way off base. Do some research before you come on here complaining because some mesmer just killed you.
Yes I have 100% completion on my mesmer. Most of it was solo. WvW with the zerg.
Sometimes I partied with other people, but not due to difficulty, more to decrease the amount of boredom.
You don’t need a party, you’re a team of 4 yourself.
I feel like a job requirement should be for them to play the game, that way they can actually make appropriate fixes.
Warrior and mesmers are some of the best all-around classes (as far as pvp, wvw, pve, dungoens, etc). Mesmers are better for sPvP while warriors are better for dungeons. Each party only needs 1 mesmer, but a couple warriors are fine.
Guardians are also very good in almost everything. Very supportive, reflects, bunker builds, damage builds, etc.
Rangers are lackluster in my opinion. If you want it to go pew pew then it should please you, if you want it to be useful it won’t please you.
And thieves have the stealth ability mostly (mesmers have some, but not as heavy as the thief does). They are relatively good for PvE, sPvP, and small roaming in wvw.
Dragon wings, SAB weapons, candy, coffers.
Pretty much anything that get’s ‘taken’ away.
I came here to know more about what you think of it. I didn’t expect to receive hate mails after i left. Also i really had something to do after so i joined for a fast fractal to get the daily. I know there are easier dailies but i’m collecting every AP i can from dailies from 5 days ago while they announced the new rewards so that AP was important to me.
You should have told them, plain and simple. You didn’t tell them because you knew they wouldn’t like it.
Raspin, if you ever need me for a dungeon run, please feel free to PM me. I usually log in at night time (I live in NY).
I believe the same as you, and there are many that believe the same. You are not alone.
I’ll give you an example: The other day I decided to go on an AC run for my daily, none of my guild mates were logged in at the time. I went with a random group on LFG and well, they decided to stack on spider queen. I told them its ridiculous to stack on such easy boss, but they all disagreed and basically threaten me to get kicked if I didnt follow. I just went in for the amusement (I really didnt care about getting kicked at that point). Turns out spider queen slaughter them all, and I ran for my dear life when I saw things blow to hell. I got kicked almost instantly (although I did stacked).
From that moment on, I knew I would NEVER run with a random group, instead I would make a group myself on LFG with the rules of playing the game THE WAY IS SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYED. Man, I found myself a group after that and we slapped spider queen like trash, killed kholer while laughing, and no wipes, downs or anything like that. So much fun.
Good job, that was once instance. I’ve stacked many times on spider queen and have never once wiped. The fight, stacking, takes about 2-3 minutes while I’ve had PUGs fighting normally taking up to 30 minutes due to wipes and running back.
You play the game how you want, I’ll play how I want, but you’re ignorant and arrogant if you’re going to tell me I’m playing the game incorrectly.
@ Colesy, A guardian is a safety net version of a warrior, a Mesmer does even less damage than both. I can’t really add anymore to it.
Mesmer gives timewarp, reflects or portal vs. golem, lets you group mobs together for full cleave and burst or push alpha, gives portal at boulders, feedback on effigy and the pull can relieve pressure at the braziers or even the greatsword knockback.
Sure, the mesmer itself has pretty blargh DPS, but its contribution to the group’s dps through timewarp, positioning and feedback easily makes up for it.
But nice use of “I can’t really add anymore to it” to try and worm your way out, I already admitted my guardian probably leeches a little through reduced DPS, but trying to rip on mesmers too is indefensible considering the fact that they truly serve as a toolbox.
Speaking of feedback on effigy, have you notice a nerf to this? I ran path 1 a couple of times yesterday and everytime I got the feedback off, everything came up “immune” in big red, obviously talking about the knock back, but I didn’t see any damage.
Previously I used to see lots of 2-3K hits, which I was very proud of (depending how many people could actually dodge the attacks).
If it saves time and all you’re doing the dungeon for is the rewards, then you’re the one who is ignorant.
If I want to do a dungeon for fun I’ll play a new one or got to fotm. If I want to make money and get tokens, I’ll do the shortest one possible with the best reward. Let people play how they want to play.
I think parts of it are okay. I definitely think skipping trash is okay. I think pulling bosses, mobs, stacking, LOS, are all perfectly okay as well.
I don’t think obvious bugs like stacking in a place so that the boss does not attack is okay. That’s more of an exploit than strategy.
Even 4 people with PTV gear will out DPS one person with zerk gear. Don’t be that much of an elitist.
You’re in the wrong. You pretty much said your time is more important than theirs and screwed them over just for a 1/5 of the daily. You didn’t even have the decency to tell them.
Also, who goes out of their way to do the fotm daily? There are much easier ones you can do yourself.
Would loooove to see your metrics sometime on how you’re measuring success here…
Cash
So what do you propose?
Anybody who starts a dungeon then logs off gets credit when it’s done? To leave the instance open forever until you log back on?
It sucks but I don’t see a reasonable fix.
Edit: Also, I don’t like your tone. You seem to imply blame at Anet and the PUGs for what happened. As far as the PUG knew, you just logged off.
BAD LOOT, ECTO DROP! STOCK UP NOW!
What Ethics is describing is a way for Anet’s statement to be true as well as having it jive with empirical data.
But what he missed is anet accidentally multiplied by -1
0-9 = 0.99% for a rare
10-19 = 0.98% for a rare
20-29 = 0.97% for a rare
in true anet programming and denial fashion.
However Anet’s statement would not be true then =). We all know that Anet’s programmers don’t make mistakes like putting a – were it shouldn’t be.
jump and say “oh kitten” and then dodge.
Do that in real life and post a video of it!
While I do agree that it would be impossible in real life, likewise, post a video of you shooting a dragon with your magic unicorn bow.
The “real life” argument is always invalid in a fantasy computer game.
Not entirely. Even though it’s fantasy, people still expect realistic aspects. You can’t just say “it’s fantasy!” and completely get rid of gravity. There are certain things the audience will suspend disbelief on , and there are certain things that will upset them. Finding the balance is the key.
I would not like to see my character jump straight in the air, then at the peak roll backwards out of nowhere.
Your ignorance is blocking your mind from understanding the point I was making.
I also like your last statement, in which you state both ranged weapons are relevant in dungeons and not relevant at the same time. No, I said in almost all cases they’re not. Just how on my guard I have used my shield once in dungeons, but that doesn’t mean it’s “relevant in dungeons” just how ranged weapons are barely used, and are therefore not relevant in dungeons on the whole.
Good to know you’re probably some “tank” guardian running trash clerics gear and scepter spamming though, means people on here know to avoid you if they ever want a serious run.
Your ignorance is more and more astounding. I am a mesmer with zerk gear wielding Sword&focus mostly, with GS or staff as 2nd.
so they will eventually be available again someday right ? soon ? i mean i want to buy that dam mining pick asap.
Two months from now: “Missed your chance for unlimited tools? No fear! Get all 3 in a pack for 3K gems!” or “Missed your chance for unlimited tools? Buy this super cool new chest which has a very super duper rare chance of obtaining an unlimited-used tool”
You never use scepter or staff?
I basically never use staff except for swiftness out of combat, scepter I use very rarely.
Blanket statements like this are bad. Staff is great for running in TA. Scepter is fine for when you must range instead of melee. You’re ignorant if you kick immediately when seeing staff/scepter on guard.
So it’s great for skipping mobs, that’s fine. And the amount of times I have to range in this game I could probably count on one hand.
Just to note, the two dungeons I run frequently are cof p1 and all coe paths, so since a guard is only relevant in the latter, if I was hosting a party and saw the guard was using a scepter then yes I would kick on the spot since it’s trash and they don’t need it. Do you know what coe consists of? Skipping mobs (no combat), one-shotting mini-golems (melee) and burning down bosses in full melee. Where is the scepter needed?
You’re ignorant if you think ranged weapons are relevant in dungeons, in almost all cases they’re not.
Your ignorance is blocking your mind from understanding the point I was making.
I also like your last statement, in which you state both ranged weapons are relevant in dungeons and not relevant at the same time.
I finally ran this dungeon for the first time in a mostly PUG group. I’m a mesmer and made the mistake of wearing zerk gear (Like I do for all PvE content) and not knowing what utilities to bring. I, like many of you, brought projectile refelcts which were all for nothing.
I thorougly enjoyed the dungeon, even after wiping one or twice on each boss. Both boss encounters needed an understanding of the mechanic and a decent amount of planning. My one complaint is that the mia fight was tedious. The first 1/4 was fine, but should have changed after that. Different phases would have been nice, with different techniques, and if you wipe then you restart the phase, not the whole boss.
However, overall, I think it was well done.
Now stop making kitten temp content and give us some permanent stuff.
I’m getting tired of people rationalizing bad behavior. Like telling people who are problematic enough to be kicked, that the solution is to open the instance and screw the rest of the team over into putting up with them. And acting like the only reason anyone gets kicked is because the other 2-4 people in the team are just big bad meanies.
100% team swiftpaw. My guild group has kicked numerous people around maw, and they probably all went on complaining on forums saying we kicked to replace with a guildie. If it’s 3 man we usually ask the last pug if he wants to invite somebody, if we’re 4 man we usually open it up to guildies then LFG if nobody responds, or finish 4 man. You guys seem to always side with the one getting kicked. All of our instances the person was either rude, didn’t have AR and lied to us, or wouldn’t listen to our strategies and continually made things harder. We’ve all had that ranger or necro in the party where the pets eats the maw’s charges and they either dodge attacks or go down, making it take 10 minutes longer.
I find your ignorance amusing…
I guess that makes two of us.
Equal sign implies equality.
The moment he starts using scepter or staff is when you boot or if it’s not your party, you leave. I don’t ever run with trash like that.
Blanket statements like this are bad. Staff is great for running in TA. Scepter is fine for when you must range instead of melee. You’re ignorant if you kick immediately when seeing staff/scepter on guard.
Really? You don’t know why? Just think about it from a business standpoint.
Friendly donations among friends is off course perfectly allowed, as long as you don’t trade it is still allowed that your friend donate money to you and you donate money to your friend. But make sure it is a donation. Even asking for transfer rates means your heading into the direction of trading.
You could also say that for money. I donated 100 gold to my friend, shortly after that friend donated 30 dollars to me.
Could also be said for certain ladies of the night. She donated 1 hour of her time to me in that hotel, shortly after I donated $50 to her.
My point being is it could still easily be considered wrong.
The special animation doesn’t do the set justice in my opinion, I mean, c’mon, lighting? at least the other two have some sort of connection to what they are, magma/lava + rocks, water/vines + plants, random lightning +trees? It’d make sense if I was trying to burn the tree down I guess, btu then I’d get ash, no logs.
You’re….. you’re serious?
Think about the last couple of thunderstorms that have come through your location. Trees get struck with lightning, that’s a fact. Also, the whole tree doesn’t instantly burn up into ash, in fact it usually splinters and a large piece breaks off.
If you’re going to complain about how things aren’t real, that’s fine, but at least live in the reality with the rest of us.
What Ethics is describing is a way for Anet’s statement to be true as well as having it jive with empirical data.
I’m glad at least one person in here understands my joke/jab.
Not a hardcore farmer. But as soon as I hit 26 I got a trident on my first run. I did another two runs shortly after and got another trident. I have not seen another skin since them. I am 99.99% sure it will be trident next time.
I’m perfectly fine discussing strategy or a mechanic with PUGs, I’m even okay if they disagree with me and we have to pick one or another. I’m not okay when they shut down the conversation with insults. “better than you” completely justified the kick.
Is this a troll thread?
I thought everyone knew that the loot tables don’t scale with level. If Anet says otherwise, they haven’t checked the drops at all. People have been complaining about this in these forums forever.
Anet does say otherwise. However maybe it’s something along the lines of
0-9 = 1.01% for a rare
10-19 = 1.02% for a rare
20-29 = 1.03% for a rare
etc. etc.
8 months ago now. It’d be nice to at least know whether this will ever be changed.
And while we’re at it, why can’t they be forged? (Some soulbound runes can be forged, such as major runes from dungeon chests.) That would let those of us with runes we don’t need do something with them, while keeping the runes themselves exclusive to people who run dungeons or get lucky with the forge, if that’s what you care about. Is it just a fear of flooding the market if we can suddenly get random superior runes for 480 dungeon tokens? (I doubt that this would actually be a problem, but I could be wrong.)
Obviously it won’t be changed. He told them, and they most likely responded “Good, that’s what we wanted”.
