Cute.
I’ve been playing since beta and I can count the exotics I’ve had drop on one hand. If you want consistent exotics, go run dungeons and use your tokens. Also, you haven’t earned a single gold from all your adventures to buy exotics of the TP?
Sketchy.
Also, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
He could very well use any other language, but it seems it is still expected that any European citizen can understand English instead of French or German.
The problem is, what people expected! The most time, i don´t expected everything.
Yesterday, I used the tool first time and my groups were different at all. I never joined in a german group, it doesn´t matter. I had a really good time and my english is worst.Off topic: So may i can looking for “native english speaker” to explore gw2 and help me to speak english better. I am a german player, so please pm me, like you want.
Lukrezia, your understanding of English is clearly more than sufficient to cooperate with other people. You don’t have to worry about these things, least of all spend your entertainment time studying English. It’ll better just by using it.
I learned most of my English from video games. Back in the old NES age, and following on, games were in English (or Engrish is some occasions
) and if you wanted to play you had to adapt.
Indeed. Had they not bothered to call it Living Story, no one would even care. But now everyone seems obsessed about the story they don’t even bother to read anyway.
Who cares? Would you rather have nothing change for months in a row? People just assume this LS is taking away time from an expansion but that’s just not true. This is the fluff that keeps you interested in the game. That keeps you logging in and that sells some store stuff to the casuals.
However, you can’t deny that English is the business language of Europe Ouroboros. You will find that even the European president, who happens to be Belgian like myself, and speaks both French and German too, will always address Europe in English with that horrible, horrible accent of his.
He could very well use any other language, but it seems it is still expected that any European citizen can understand English instead of French or German.

The problem Southsun has is that there is no incentive to go there. The area is as you mention a pain in the bottom to traverse and there are just no rewarding activities. At the very least they should add a few more Orichalcum and some Ancient wood nodes. It would also help tremendously to have a native resource that actually is wanted. Hardly anyone is waiting for Settler stats ¬¬
Introduce Assassin gear in this zone, that would help a bit.
And if all else fails, press ‘F’ to revive.
Mmm there’s nothing quite like opening a topic and having your attention drawn to the crotch of a giant cat.
Four: Guardian, Warrior, Mesmer and Engineer.
I have one of each profession though and I intend on maxing them all eventually. I just don’t play that much.
In Europe, you’ll find that many English productions for television and even movies will be dubbed in the native tongue. This is certainly the case for German and French. Many people in these countries will not have an elaborate English vocabulary.
Some other countries like the Netherlands and Belgium however, where they speak Dutch, usually find such dubbing horrible and will have none of it. They generally have a better grasp at English.
However, make no mistake, the business language of the EU is most certainly English. It’s not German, it’s not French, it’s not Spanish.
As for the situation at hand, if they promote their party in a different language, don’t join them. You will most likely not understand each other which will just end in frustration.
Mind you, the argument works both ways. It’s also very frustrating to start an English group and have someone join who speaks some language none of you understand and doesn’t understand English themselves.
Well I expect them to be released within the next 3 months. I hope that clarified it somewhat.
I doubt this is going to happen, but I do have a gut feeling that Scarlet is not the mastermind behind all of this. Considering she has such an issue with “not belonging in any group or predetermined fate”, it would be so cliché to make her turn out to be the puppet she desperately tries not to be.
^ Most likely due to the fact that they wanted it to make sense.
A dragon suddenly turning up 50 times stronger than he was for no reason whatsoever would be quite weird.
They had no problem changing the other world bosses without said explanation. Granted, not as drastic as Tequatl, but still.
Yea the T6 is the worst part for me. I only have another 400 materials to go and that will still take forever at approximately 25s a piece.
Since the game has just celebrated the first anniversary you’re basically saying you’ve come back from leaving after the very start of the game.
Well then, what’s different now…
Mmmm, how about everything?
Tequatl is not getting removed, this new encounter is here to stay.
I do hope his boss achievements stay after next week too though, that I can’t say I’ve read so far.
I used to get this on a Logitech G500 when holding right-click. I would target random objects. Tested in the Logitech utility and found my right-click was releasing and re-clicking quickly. Switched to a Corsair M90 and it has worked since. Expensive fix though.
Must add that it was only an issue in GW2, but the Logitech utility definitely said the right-click wasn’t holding. Maybe need to address how targeting with right-click works? Seems to be a common problem.
Logitech stuff is a nightmare for me. I have the G500 too, as well as the G700 keyboard and as of late they just constantly crash. Apart from that, yes, pressing the right button usually loses target and camera movement is laggy too.
Switched back to an old basis keyboard and mouse, and apart from feeling prehistoric, everything is working far better.
You honestly believe that it would be impossible without Dulfy?
Within hours after a patch, the new spawn locations of Orichalcum, Ancient wood, Omnomberries, etc etc are spread all over the internet. What makes those needles less hard to find in the said haystack?
Two whole weeks to find 10 clues in 3 maps is surely not over the top. You have never searched for Guild mission bosses or that one elusive point of interest then?
Too much drama, too little sense.
There’s something I forgot in the OP:
Update notes
Something’s gotten into Tequatl the Sunless. This ancient dragon, scourge of the Splintered Coast, has become more formidable than ever with an kitten nal of new attacks and lethal tricks at its disposal. To stop this rampaging beast, players will join forces with old friends and new allies in a desperate battle where failure is a very real option. Tequatl has risen, and it will take an army of players to bring it down!
Summary: Same as before, but something interesting to note – Tequatl’s called an ancient dragon.
That just enforces my suspicions that Tequatl might be Rotscale 2.0.
Is this a rhetorical question?
Did everyone go on test day yeah this bad kitten something we can’t beat?
I have no idea what you are trying to say.
Besides the unique skin, FSP has only two defining features. Three if you count “Lore” but when you’re comparing that to everything else that seems “hip”, Lore doesn’t carry much weight except maybe to other Lore buffs … and how many people play this game for the Lore? Lore isn’t something the average joe can see with the naked eye. Instead, Lore is something that is often sought after looking to become more knowledgeable in the world around them. For the average joe, they just want to play the god dang game! If they want knowledge, they’ll probably read a book or attend a training class.
On this part I just wanted to add that lore does have more value than you give it credit for. In fact, despite the low visual characteristics the shield has (which you explain very well), I am in the process of making it simply for the reference to my main character’s ancestor and namesake. I would rather say replace Lore buffs with GW1 veterans.
I completely agree that it should not be included in the evaluation of the visuals, most certainly, but it still gives the shield that little oomph for me. It is a very niche trait, but a nice one nonetheless.
Technically, “the pacts offensive in Orr” does not necessarily mean that Zhaitan has not yet been defeated. After the death of Zhaitan, large chunks of Orr remained heavily occupied by undead. They could very well still be on clean up duty, which would still make it an offensive in Orr. It’s not like the other undead surrendered after the death of their “king”. Furthermore, the death of many troops during the attack on Zhaitan, the theft of many airships and the events in the world may have weakened the Pact’s forces even more after their big victory.
But they are really skirting around the edge of their paradox rule though.
Unlike you, I have actually played Farmville so I call BS on your little statement.
Actually, I dont know how true this is, but I’ve heard that ascended materials, like bloodstone dust, only drop to level 80 characters.
I do not know if this includes the boss bags nor do I know if it is an issue to you because dust gets really abundant eventually. However, it’s something to consider.
Well, Maw and Wurm died in a couple of minutes of hacking. Surely some more beef and fiercer attacks aren’t out of place there.
Now the Golem was always beefy, and the patch notes actually don’t mention a hp increase on him (unlike the others). Out of the 3 I could only see the Golem becoming a chore as that one already did take a lot of hacking before. The other 2 needed that increase tbh. If you did the Maw and closed the portals, sometimes you wouldn’t even get back in time before the boss went down.
What I’m trying to figure out is how this in any way relates to Mario Kart =/
I feel cheated by the topic.
… So much pun to make …
Personally I don’t mind them releasing new skins. If the animation is the only thing that differs then complaining by the people owning a molten pick would just be nitpicking.
However, if they are cheaper or gasp account bound, then yes, they would have a bone to pick with Anet.
It would make sense. It’s about time the Pale Tree decides to intervene in some manner with the whole Scarlet fiasco.
She did declare war on Scarlet after all.
I’m not convinced that the added health is the problem, it seems pretty neglectable. Granted, I have only played the Fire Elemental so far, but I noticed the health is just about the same. It’s just that you cant stand on it spamming HB any more. People need area awareness now, and that is why it takes longer.
That’s far from a bad thing too. World bosses should be impressive and dangerous, and clearly they weren’t anymore. I’ll enjoy the new difficulty for as long as it lasts, because undoubtedly the community will find ways to exploit them sooner or later again.
It most certainly needs a time increase. How silly is it that the Claw of Jormag gets a 30 minute timer when the new Tequatl takes much more coordination and placement, yet only gets half the time.
At 30 mins it will still be very challenging!
If you purposely want to restrict yourself by only using auto-attacks Charak, that’s your choice, but you shouldn’t come complaining about your self imposed boredom. Perhaps if you made yourself a bit more useful it would have gone faster and you’d have a bit more fun at it.
I respectfully disagree. I had a blast watching the lazy farmers getting blasted yesterday. The encounter went something like this:
Boss: Flame Elemental
The clean-up is almost complete and I observe the regular posse of warriors migrate to the centre of the room. So, helpful as I am, I tell them in chat that the new boss will burn anyone too close to it.
Obviously I get ignored. With a couple of seconds left before the abomination appears I repeat my warning, only to be mocked.
And so the Fire Elemental appears, swiftly burns the whole group to a crisp in a couple of seconds and the rest of the fight gets accompanied by comments like:
“What is this crap!”
“This is too much!”
“OMG, another part of the game ruined, thanks Anet!”
“This sucks!”
No gentlemen, you suck!
I got much more enjoyment out of that than I should have really.
No they don’t?
I’m fairly certain they drop as prefix-boxes which allow you to pick any weapon type of that prefix stats.
I see no problem with Giver weapons though. By the time ascended armour is released they can very well change the giver armour.
The fact that the main attribute is condition duration means that the weapons would need a different colour, which would fit the Tequatl weapons.
@Evans:
I feel ashamed for that. May the gods have mercy on my soul.
May Dwayna embrace you with her all transcending compassion.
No seriously, I find the whole berserker of gtfo mentality asinine. I agree that there are extremely poor stat combinations which a player can theoretically pick, but the whole game is built on mechanics which make player choices fool-proof.
To be fair, ascended weapons have the whole concept of different looks for different stats going for them.
If the ascended Tequatl weapons indeed have a new stat combo (preferably giver) then the new look is completely justified.
But to be fair, I got to lv 40 using Mad king gear. Yes, that is an MF gear.
Repent Sinner, the end in nigh!
etc. etc.
I firmly believe that they will drop as an Ascended Tequatl Weaponry box and will have fixed stats where you can pick the weapon you like.
Considering some research and the looks of the weapon, I also believe they will have the missing ‘Giver’ stats. I’m excited to see if this would be correct.
I see you’ve taken the hint so I’ve bothered reading your rant. What I make out of it is that you are frustrated in the game for many reasons that are perfectly valid for you.
The trap you fall into however, is effectively starting to blame the game and other players for it’s casual nature. The message I get, in a very generalised manner, is “it’s not hard enough”, “when it is hard it’s in a cheap way” and “there are too little hardcore players”.
I’m sorry to say that in most cases there simply is no need to go full berserker to make it through the content. The fact that I for example decide to roll Soldier gear on my Guardian in AC, while running a blinding blade build, makes little to no difference to the total time we spend in there. As a matter of fact, full berserker PUG’s are usually the first to fail, because each individual is weaker if the group as a whole doesn’t work together.
So in answer to your taboo I’ll state that full berserker will only out perform ‘balanced’ stats if the entire team works on the same level and is organised.
Furthermore, I agree with Marnick that at the end of the day, just as you do, I will play this game the way I want it to. There are no rules that state otherwise.
Finally, I’m at the least angry at you. I would say that your posts as a whole come off as angry themselves. If you are so frustrated because of this game, I suggest you take a break from it. In the long run that would be better for your health.
Yes, that’s it.
Well that’s your choice I guess, though a strange one in the light of all your info you’ve given.
What I see is a freshly created character in the typical ‘one dye is enough effort’ scheme. I think it is highly strange that one would transmutate a whole set of end game gear (with over 1000 hours gathering stuff at it) over the basic starter armor, in a single dye.
I blame the internet for making me so.
(edited by Evans.6347)
Well you can take that approach or you could have edited your original post to make it more appealing and make everyone eat their words.
But if you want to act, as you put it, bum hurt, by all means.
It would help if you post a picture of your Guardian. You see, the concept ‘guardian’ doesn’t really help if what we suggest clashes completely with your looks.
That said, a couple suggestions are:
Aureate staff
Ebon Vanguard staff
Ghastly staff
Zodiac staff
Bifrost
Your picture confuses me.
Too many big blocks of text do not appeal to me. Does that make me lazy? Sure does!
Italic and bold are your friends, use them!
As for the content I didn’t read, I’m going to go with I somewhat agree but often don’t. I’m sure that’s vague enough.
The annoyance people have is because it seems like a daunting task to do right away.
Personally I haven’t bothered in the least with it, and I have gathered 75% of the ascended stuff I need simply by playing the game, very casually, as usual. If I bother starting to craft my first ascended in a month of so, I’m sure I will have no problem with the resources I’ve gathered effortlessly by then.
Obviously few people still visit Hoelbrak becauese that place has, without a doubt, the most annoying vocal NPC in the entire game.
Take heed! I haven’t taken leave of my senses! I’ve seen creatures of metal and steam!"
Take heed! I haven’t taken leave of my senses!
Take heed!
Take heed!
Take heed! I haven’t taken leave of my senses!
Good grief woman, you say you haven’t but I’m personally getting very close!
ahmmm I did it 2 man in the past… is it different now? or is people forgetting how to play this game due to excessive farming?
Yes.
I tried him yesterday and I didn’t notice anything different other than a lot of players who stand still and auto-attack dying in painfully obvious AoE circles.
Didn’t get hit once myself by simple movement.
But it should be account bound, and preferably with a simple interface button available to all your characters.
I’d very much dish out for that.
As far as I know, the only thing those tokens exclude some players from is a couple of runes, of which I believe only the Superior rune of the Monk is popular, perhaps certain specific stat combinations and legendary weapons.
Why all so negative?
“Trendsetter”
“Winner takes it all”
“Armed to the teeth”more like jolly sarcasm :P
I guess it is
However, it irks me because in a couple of weeks/months, Ascended is going to be the standard and no one will even question it. It just takes a bit more time to convince the first sheep to start moving.
I guess the owls aren’t the only things that aren’t what they seem to be…
Anyway, I feel such a topic always deserves following ‘clarification’:
Angel McCoyAre the illusions created by mesmers visible to anybody or only to the caster and the spell target?
This depends. Casting an illusion that can only be seen by one person is an extremely advanced skill as it requires getting directly into an individual’s mind. Only the most skilled of mesmers can do this, and mesmers don’t talk about this ability. If people were to find out that mesmers could do this, it would prejudice people against mesmers and damage the trust and love mesmers work so hard to inspire in others.
No documentation of this ability exists outside the Mesmer community because the targets of this kind of spell don’t realize they’ve been duped. No one else can corroborate their experience either, so…it’s often explained away as battle fatigue. Even within the mesmer community, knowledge of this kind of spell is “need to know” only, which means only the most elder and experienced are initiated into the circle.
I always get a couple of giggles out of that.
