Yep, at first that wasn’t clear at all for me too.
Revenant is without the best class to play sword on. It’s basically a must.
Gifting holiday themed items during the holiday season of gifting? Are you mad?
This is almost as outlandish a thought as actually earning holiday themed items by playing the game during the holiday season.
I do not mind the higher difficulty much, at worst it’s mildly annoying if you want to get anywhere quickly.
Actually, that’s the real issue with HoT and thus GW2 in general that I have. There is nothing left to get quickly. Everything, I mean everything is a long winded slog nowadays.
Oh you want item X? Well here’s your collection. Better go grind out that mastery and buy an item that only have value as part of a collection with your slowly grinded map specific tokens! Oh right, you want to get item Y too? Well you need more tokens for that, look here is your collection for that.
You know what, we’ll throw in a lot of expensive materials for good measure too. Just to be sure you ain’t getting diddely-squat anytime this year.
Logging into the game these days is like checking in at work. All right, let’s see what’s on my to do list for today…
If you want to get anything in this game, as it is right now, you’re not supposed to have any fun anymore.
Aah, on Reddit. Of course, makes perfect sense. Where else could there be any communication?
And then some public shaming your community instead. Yea, I can see how this is going to keep being a thing.
I don’t even care what the message is, i’m not interested either way. But the sheer disrespect in the medium they choose to communicate and public assault on their customers is frankly unbelievable.

No, but put some more vivid gold on yourself and you could be a fancy Fabergé egg.
They must be pretty desperate getting people to stay playing
Legendary weapons were pretty much available to anyone, given a variable amount of time. I like that, because it gives everyone a thing to work towards, whether you are a master at the game or simply a casual player having fun.
Legendary backpack is locked behind fractals. That’s already a big difference in the sense that some people will be locked out of this because of their skill level. Is it fair that these people get no shot a the legendary backpack? What if ‘git gud’ doesn’t work?
Then legendary armor is locked behind raids, without a doubt an even harsher, much more difficult part of the game. If you take a gander at the collection, you’ll see that one will probably have to beat all bosses in several raid wings to get the precursors. That’s just not going to happen for a lot of GW2 players. Anet even said as much.
Is this fair? I don’t think it is. I feel that legendary gear must be available to all, but the rate at which you gain it should or can be skill gated. I certainly approve of skins locked behind raids, i approve those auras being a raid thing.
But legendary items were supposed to be a “journey”. Now they are not. They have truly become something for the elite, and to me that is disheartening.
All I want for Christmas is… going to be locked behind a, for me, insurmountable wall requiring unhealthy amounts of grind in any or all game formats.
That’s pretty much what the game has been for me lately, I expect nothing more.
If you ask me it’s out of sheer ignorance of the mechanics of that fight. This collection is in complete and utter contradiction of Anet’s stance on dynamic events in which they state that failure of an event should never be the goal.
Al right, that was in the light of exploits, but a stance is still a stance darnit!
She is dead
Yes. She fell thanks to the power of love.
It is said she is good at predicting things, but not that she is perfect at it.
However, she lived a long life and thought of a legacy. She foresaw her death, as told to us by the Exalted. If she foresaw it, then she could have worked to prevent it.
She didn’t. Why?
I want to say because it is part of a greater plan. Maybe she did see a future where she didn’t die that ended up far worse.
There’s a great emphasis on ‘empathy’ with Glint, I think it fits her character to choose the greater good over her own life.
I would counter by asking how it makes sense to plummet to your death off a cliff, when you have a glider on you. My biggest peeve with no gliding in core Tyria is just that, I often forget I can’t and fall to my death.
I’m also very reluctant to buy any glider skin, considering new expansions might not allow gliding either.
Revenant, and it’s specialisation in particular is also a very solid choice. Good damage, easy enough mechanic and useful party boon support.
Really, Herald is king in pve. Perma swiftness and regeneration for gathering and running to places, perma fury and might for combat. Decent AoE, very good dps…
It’s lack of versatility is pretty much it’s biggest vice, but that seems to be a virtue to you. I’d say give it a shot if you’re buying HoT.
I wonder what the inspiration for Facet of Elements could have been…
A great suggestion, but not a very profitable one for Anet. So don’t get your hopes up.
BLC keys have never been worth buying. Yes you could get lucky, but let’s face it, you probably won’t.
Revenant is the prime example of this. The fact that only two core legends work underwater is bad enough, but even the elite one doesn’t! They don’t bother anymore.
Revenant is a profession I do not want to play then, solely for this reason.
That’s a shame, because as underwhelming as it is underwater, herald is so overpowered everywhere else. But I admit, I have a soft spot for Glint <3

Ooh semantics, I’m instantly transported back the the Queen’s “Jubilee”. Anyone remember that?
Aah, memories…
First let me say that I love the harvesting flutes, I really do.
(I wished they had fish underwater instead, but that aside)
However, the firefly mining flute is currently bugging out over half of the time for me, only harvesting 2 times instead of 3. This gets pretty annoying after a while.
Could you please look into this? Thanks.
Salvage it.
Or you know, transmutate Twilight on it and stick it on another character. I got tired of swapping weapons around real quickly anyway.
You only need to make 1 mithrilium a day. You can upgrade those to Deldrimor steel at any time you’ve gathered enough ore. I try to make 1 of the ectoplasm refined materials daily, regardless of needing them.
Have you tried going to the location without the piece in your inventory? I’ve done that step, and after I ‘fused’ the star, I still had every individual piece in my inventory, so I wonder if you even need them in your inventory, or simply added into your collection.
looks like crap for a legendary armor
~Every other Guild Wars 2 player, regardless of what it will look like.
All infinite gathering tools should give something extra.
For the people that don’t want to convert gold into gems to obtain them, in-game vendors or MF should offer a new tier of tools with more uses and the same benefit. Something like “deldrimor tools” that have 250 uses and give you some kind of extra mat.
This is exactly why the Silver-fed salvage-tron failed, too little benefit to justify the gem cost. Introducing such new salvage tools would absolutely kill the gemstore tools.
Glint was on good terms with the other races. She was a sort of prophet. I’m sure at some point, someone would have addressed her gender. She had babies after all.
But maybe dragons are genderless and she just adopted the female gender to simplify interaction with other races. Who knows?
Elder dragons are more referred to as ‘forces of nature’, not really as individuals.
Lets face it, this whole fiasco is the fault of the Pale Tree. She should have informed Trahearne, at the very least, the moment Mordremoth stirred. Precautions should have been taken accordingly.
I suppose Anet lives by the principle of “less gives you more”.
Can’t say I agree.
What bothers me mostly though, is that everything they did add is locked behind huge grind walls. Seriously, pretty much everything is either rare drops or expensive collections.
I’ve passed the point of caring about the functionality. Mostly.
Yes I have a watchwork pick. I also have a fused, a miner-tron and the firefly flute. While I agree that I will always use the watchwork if i’m going to do a mining run, I prefer the thematic sets on my main characters.
Fantasitc. i did Spark. Vol.1 collection cost absolutely nothing becuase it was collections and running here to there to find things. Vol. 2 was okay 10 of eahc blade 10 of each handle, 250 Mithril daggers, 20 Deld.ingots 10 leather, ( allaround about 2500 mithril ore. And thats pretty much it. Vo. 3 was just a collections again running around mixing parts together. So only 1/3 of the adventure required some gold .
I guess because I play the game and keep what I craft instead of selling it on the tp everyday (such as 90% of those complaining) it was super easy and fun. Started by 2nd now for some profit but its bugged so that sucks. First people where complaining “I’ve thrown over thousands of gold into the forge and not gotten a pre” and now its " The guaranteed way to get the pre costs too much compared to the OTHER guaranteed way." The expansion released and the market is going to be fluctuating for while on alot of stuff. You aren’t the only people trying to make these things so guess what, people are buying making prices go up and people are selling at higher prices because they know people wil buy them. If the cost of crafting is that bad for you then don’t buy the materials FARM THEM. Boo-hoo you can’t have your percursor within 1 week since release; some privilege you got there.
Your arguments hold no water. Just because you can farm the materials doesn’t mean they’re free. In fact, as prices of the materials increase it becomes all the more interesting to just sell them and buy the precursor outright from the TP.
People seem to forget that getting the precursor is just a single step in the hideously long journey of a legendary. Apparently, making a precursor by itself should already take you half a year. This is not what we wanted.
It expect it’ll be a raid. Surely it’s too big of a plot hole to leave hanging?
There is no way of telling if the Pale Tree actually has this power. One could argue that a large chunk of Mordremoth’s power comes from the consumption of Ley energy, something the Pale Tree might not have access to.
But even so, as she considers the Sylvari to be her children, not minions, it would be pretty unethical of her to just replace them with a newer version. It sort of drains the emotional attachment.
My my, people are really getting batty over this Nightfury business.

There’s always those who are late to the party, but I think at this point you are actually early for the next one…
Can I just say, after HOT release this forum has been so negative, you guys set your hopes too high. And, to the people who have 30+ mastery points and have finished the story, you need to stop rushing things. One other thing, THE STORY HAS BEEN RUINED FOR ME, because SOME people don’t put spoiler tags on the spoilers. So thanks, ?I now know the ending.
Oh my dear BaconReaper, you should know better than to visit a forum if you want to avoid spoilers, you really should. But the silver lining is that now you do know.
Also thank you for your topic, I am ever such a fan of irony.
The crafted precursors are account bound AFAIK.
Considering they are invisible shoes, and the treasure mushroom’s only redeeming qualities are that it can run very fast and is invisible, that sounds like a decent place to start…
However, surely it would have been found by now even if it was a rare drop from those.
Is this a question or a statement?
At any rate you can’t be cheated on the TP, as far as I know.
The normal acended back item looks a lot better. At least add the same amount of glow to the legendary one..
You mean this one?
Looks okay for me.
If a legendary doesn’t inflict seizures, it’s not good enough apparently.
By asking for good ranged AoE damage you pretty much limit yourself to elementalist and engineer, you know.
Wardrobe people…
At least it wiggles satisfactory.
+1 for fun factor
Also, if I may chime in, I’d like the magic carpet and broomstick to be a gliders too
The only complaint I have is that night takes too long without having as much of quest chains as day has, thus it becomes a chore easily.
The snipers are a bit too much. They almost down any class in one volley.
The rest is fine.
My sylvari mesmer heard mordremoth’s voice in the story instance at several points, all other characters did not.
For good measure, let’s add the actual theory:
A bold New Theory:
Cepha: An exhaustive study of Tyrian physiognomy led me to derive what I call Cepha’s Constant.
Cepha: Multiplied by the mean ratio of body mass to brain size, it yields an important racial metric.
Cepha: Namely, said race’s importance as a factor in the Eternal Alchemy.
Cepha: Asura scored highest, naturally. Then, in descending order, we have sylvari, charr, human, and norn.
Omg leave Celestial alone
I tried to resist, I promise. But the flesh is weak…
Light armor has the winged armor set, which is based of mantis wings.
Well I haven’t taken the risk, nor is there any mention of this being true on the wiki. So for the brave, they’ll have to take your word for it.
Regardless, it’s pretty pointless to reskin anyway if you plan to evolve it further.
