Man these forums really depress me. I’ve never seen so much QQ and I frequent D3 forums as well. I guess that’s just the nature of all official forums.

On topic:

- Voice acting was fantastic. I can never get bored of listening to the voice acting, especially Taimi. Holy kitten she’s awesome. I want her as a kid, even the asura side of her.
- Episode was too short
- The map is decent but graphically gorgeous. (Don’t take it too personally, it’s just hard to win me over with vertical maps. Especially after the disastrous mess of TD, and even some parts of AB)
- New dailies are cool and wouldn’t mind seeing this type of thing implemented in other maps, especially older maps.

I personally, felt they were incredibly annoying and not fun. I mean really, when I was on that stage it was craft this spiritwood plank and do something else because I couldn’t progress unless I bought from the TP or waited for it to reset. It really was not fun.

I just bought the majority of them from TP. You can either choose between building the precursor faster or cheaper at the moment. I guess it is the only way to do them without making the whole precursor collection meaningless. Collection 1, 2 and 4 is usually low effort you can do in a few hours depending on your luck with the event spawns.

Yeah I totally understand (and agree) with ensuring that precursor collections aren’t meaningless. But why time-gate it? Time-gated content is not fun (it actually encourages logging in, crafting it, and logging off). I would much rather have a grind of items I can farm for. For example, I was fine with all the Elder wood log the Bifrost collection required because it wasn’t time-gated.

I think a little bit more effort could have gone in the collections instead of just forcing you to have 30+ spiritwood planks. However, if the goal was to make people spend money on gems to convert into gold then this is a flawless idea.

That being said, I think the collections should require ascended materials (I know, I know, I’m contradicting myself) just not a huge amount. Like. Part of the collection can literally only be progressed once a day. WOW, HOW EXCITING! /s

My suggestion for a glider is put the one that you already have made! So no extra work! The glider/wings from “chasing the egg” story mission are amazing! Even if it is only limited to just glider and not a back piece I would love this one if it was available.(I’m sure a lot of other people will agree)

I don’t consider it to be a problem until it happens consistently. If and/or when it does happen consistently I will certainly use your advice

I think this is a good idea but probably won’t do much to boost a population. The maps are the main concern.

It’s actually fairly rare for me to get whispered by them. Every time I do get hit, I report and block them. So, I really don’t understand what the problem here is. Keep in mind (due to my work and lack of social life) I occasionally put in more than 12 hours a day.

Great, now I have 3 sets of dailies to complete. Fractals, core Tyria, and HOT…. What game is this? Have I turned on WOW or something?

Edit: Did I misinterpret? Are you talking about adding HOT dailies as additional options to finish the main daily?

Absolutely not. This would turn PvE into PvP (or PvP servers such as those that exist in WOW). I don’t like being forced to do something. When I’m PvEing, I want to PvE. When I choose to do some PvP, I will go PvP.

HOT zones might be the only part of the game I will never finish. In addition, HOT masteries might be the only part of the mastery train I will never finish. I told myself that I will at least get all gliding masteries…. Well, here I am, still not getting exp for the 3rd level of the mastery track.

Last boss in the HOT story line. Reasons are already specified in the thread.

But, the last boss in Living World Season 2 was also kinda of annoying. It’s like you get to a divine thing to start casting and the only thing you’re thinking is “cmon RNG, cmon RNG. Please don’t have the boss pop up”

Unfortunately, we need to remember, that the forum population is not representative of the entire population. To make matters worse, 100 people that signed a silly petition (my self included) means absolute squat. Hell, if I was Anet, I’d look a the list and say “that is an incredibly small list” and disregard it.

So I don’t blame Anet if they never revert back to the old maps. I wouldn’t. The sample size is just too small.

Anet, you need to address this. In my last 10 (estimated) fractals I had two bug out on me on final boss. To be specific, fractal 22 and 24.

On 22 the boss didn’t drop hammer on the final hit.
On 24, the final room wouldn’t open.

Please look into these bugs or build code that let’s us do an emergency reset.

It’s annoying doing a full fractal only for it to bug out near the end, especially if you are trying to progress.

I just started doing fractals about 2 weeks ago. Is this the impression you want to give to new players? I’m not a new player, but to fractals I am, and the impression is quite bad atm.

Like, I actually had an intention to do a fractal marathon. Now, I don’t even feel like it. I’m demoralized.

For drinks, there’s the consume all option to do it one stack at a time. Another option is to get autohotkey and bind the mouse click to your mouse wheel.

Oh I didn’t know there was a consume all for drinks, I thought it was only for magic find. This helps, and is quicker tbh. Thank you:)

I had an intention to get the thirst slayer achievement which is to consume 100,000 drinks. Now, obviously no one wants to sit here spamming (no sorry, breaking) your mouse so I used Aivia Ghost to do it for me. It’s just a macro program for my keyboard. I set it to spam mouse 1 so that I don’t have to sit here doing it and get carpal tunnel.

I’m concerned however, because I already did it for 4.5k drinks before realizing Anet might consider this botting. So I stopped, and here I am asking the fellow community (and hopefully an Anet employee).

Is using a macro program that only tells my computer to click mouse 1 bannable? Or am I expected to complete this achievement with health care bills?

I miss the vanilla fireball. I remember the first time I shot one I was like “Woah, that’s so sick!” I also remember the first time I shot a fireball post-patch, I was like “WTF is this peanut I’m flinging at them?”

This is coming from someone that pumped a solid 500 hours into WvW when GW2 came out. I played so much that as a result i got the biggest burnout in my video game history. Didn’t touch the game for about 1.5-2 years. Guys… this game was awesome and I simply played too much of it.

Now, fast forward to today. I’ve been playing GW2 again for about 3 weeks or so. Addicted as can be and I predict a massive burnout again…. you know…. eventually.

WvW is really all I played in vanilla as I boycotted fractals and ascended at the time. Today, I’m focused on getting my legendary, an ascended set, and gold and so currently WvW is not on my list of things to do.

With that being said, I tried the new BL. It’s god awful. Not only is it a bit confusing but it takes forever to get somewhere. When I figured out how to get to some place the quickest way, I was blocked by a cliff or whatever the heck felt like blocking me. Forcing me to turn around.

Anet. I’m a loyal customer, your game is amazing and because I love this game, I feel like I need to sign this. Bring back the old BL maps – maybe look at what was so successful in the Alpine maps and compare them to the new BL’s. What’s the difference? Think critically and figure out why we don’t like it.

I’ll give you one of my gripes: It’s complicated – just like some parts of the HOT zones which were quite frustrating.

It it the reason why I don’t play this game any more and only come to the forums to see what the “scoop” is every month or so.

It is also the reason why I have been playing Rift lately and will be playing WOW again when the new expansion comes out. Unfortunately, that means I’m going to have to buy MOP as well:(

“This program cannot be run in DOS mode” usually indicates a virus infection. It’s also possible that it’s another (legit) program that is running. Either way, it looks like it’s creating an Access Violation error with GW2. Disable ALL unneeded startup programs and run full virus/malware scans.

Thanks I will try that. Although I am 100% it’s not a virus. My PC is like 3-5 months old from a fresh format. Have not downloaded anything and I’m not dumb about getting viruses. Currently, I have Precision X to load on start up, I’ll disable that and then report back if the problem persists.

To be clear, this is a forum not forums. Bump. I believe I have the same problem. I cannot play WvW because every 5-20 minutes I crash and then have to wait in que. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to work with your guild.

Please, is there any fix?

I miss being a purely dedicated healer. I loved being a healer, absolutely loved it. This is the reason why I played some Rift when it went F2P but I couldn’t get passed the fact that you had to stand still to cast. GW2 has completely spoiled me in that aspect; the fact that you can move and still cast/attack… I LOVE THAT FEATURE

I stopped reading after OP said “13k-20k damage”

This game is only a grind if you make it a grind. I do t he dailies for the laurels, but if I don’t feel like doing it, I won’t. This game isn’t so demanding on gear such as other MMO’s. I’ll get my ascended gear through laurels, I’ll get the laurels when I feel like doing the daily. Of course, I say this because WvW is what I do for endgame.

This is a touchy topic. I was going to suggest instead of gems, the winning server could receive a few silver (maybe 10-20?) or one of each T6 material, but then this system would give currency and materials to players that don’t even participate in WvW. Furthermore, it increases the chances of more players stacking the winning servers in order to reap the benefits of the rewards. I think the only way to reward the winning server is to reward them with some type of item/currency that is obtainable or useable in WvW only. Maybe add some armor pieces that give benefits for a WvW setting? For example, one of the stats could be “Can carry +1 extra supply” or “Increases run speed by 5%”. It’s just an example, I don’t want to do the math on how this may improve or endanger the WvW scene considering there is already skill points that revolve around this idea.

I miss being #2, it gave a sense of wanting to beat the 1st player, made me want to play. I probably say this because I’ve logged like 1-2 hrs everyweek for the past month or two – dat hardcore burnout.

So now when I log in, check the millenium scores, look at the forums, it feels like I didn’t do anything because I was logged in when we went from #2 to #1. That might be why I miss being #2.

But whatever, I just hope JQ keeps a sense of sportsmanship and doesn’t post this kind of stuff anymore. I’ll be back sooner or later JQ! And I’ll be ready to give myself another harcore burnout!

I love it, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. Anyone can go 1st place, grabbing 2nd place takes dedication, commitment, and hard work. Second place gives you the greatest satisfactory feeling in the world, you should try it some time.

And please, don’t use 1 isolated instance of a single player possibly exploitig into a tower to kill some seige if I understand the screenshot correctly as an excuse as to why the fight is close. It has been close before and will be close again. Thats what we all want right? I could post several screenshots and fraps footage of folks from the other two servers doing questionable stuff. But you know what, I just report and contact the relevant folks by PM…..
