Well that brings up another question. Why wasn’t the major and minor sanctuary runes changed to frozen as well?
Because the boon duration is only 10%, and they do not have rune 5 and 6 slot, so it balances out.
The fight between the gods that ArenaNet talks about is the very first fight, when they banished Abaddon to the Relam of Torment.
I got some questions I want answers for.
- WoodenPotatoes in his video said that there was one god Abaddon defeated before himself got defeated, what god was that?
- About the five gods that fought Abaddon, was Grenth one of the gods amongst them, or was it Dhuum that helped the gods to banish Abaddon?
- Where in the Crystal Seas did the fight happen? Was it on an island, or over open seas?
- How did the Margonites look like before they got banished with Abaddon down into the Realm of Torment. They were Humans during that time.
- The very reason why Abaddon started a war between the gods was because they wanted to take the magic away from the humans, while Abaddon wanted the humans to keep the magic, why was Abaddon’s feelings so strong to this that he started that war?
I’m far more interested in Evon, because he’s acting like a real pirate while Kiel seems to be that normal good-doer girl, which is so boring.
4k damage without using skills?
Well, how are you supposed to do damage then if you can’t use skills?
The Survival minigame is really neat. But I think ghosts got too much power.
I think they should remove the Karka summon skill, and the torment condition skill, and replace it with something else.
I also think they should remove the orbs the ghosts needs to collect, and instead apply a longer cooldown on the skills.
I think it’s fine that the ghosts can alarm where players are, maybe they should be able to cripple somehow, but I do not think they should be able to summon karkas and apply torment for even more health draining.
Basically, Sanctuary is the name of those floating icebergs boats, which the Kodan lives on.
That is why it got chill duration, because of the overall theme.
And some guildies and I tested it and it’s still HORRIBLE.
I had 1 guy w/ 50% health, at 600 range, and another guy at 90% health, at 300 range, and it consistently went to the closer of the two.
It could be a LOS issue, it could be a 1st check issue… who knows…
Make it TARGET-ABLE already.
Sheesh.
Guild Wars 2 should not have targetable heals.
Items are worth the amount you are willing to pay for them. You seem to be willing to pay nothing. Simply don’t buy it.
It’s not like it’s something new that ArenaNet add weapon skins in Black Lion Chests and such.
Not every guardian is support/heal based, but some people are happy I guess.
Yeah, but it’s a good way to make supporting stronger and more wanted than Berserker only.
It’s a beginning.
The new Guardian changes are up for the coming patch.
It seems to buff Monk’s Focus with healing a lot, in the Valor tree, I wonder if this could be another way to play Healingway Guardian. Though boon duration will be lost, and so will cleansing from using Virtue of Resolve.

Thaumanova Reactor
*Chaos energy in the mists!
*Should affect things outside the fractal!
*Unlimited possibilitiesFall of Abaddon
*see a God in the past, in one dungeon, thats it.Anet wants you to pick the EASY one to make.
Really starting to get tired and annoyed at the sheer amount of Thaumanova Reactor propaganda (most of which is essentially the same as the quoted text above) that you seem to post everywhere and then use “It’s just suggestions for if the reactor wins” to justify your mass of posts that boil down to the same ideas, which you use as though they are hard fact.
Code of ConductAvoid frivolous and duplicate postings.
I’ve seen way too much Fall of Abaddon propaganda. Asking to see something people ALREADY KNOW!
Sure, we knew that Abaddon lost, and got sealed inside Realm of Torment.
But do we actually know where the fight took place? Was it over the Crystal Seas, and perhaps, on an island that we don’t yet know of?
Dhuum was the god before Grenth. Was it Grenth, or Dhuum that was fighting against Abaddon?
It is said that Abaddon actually defeated one of them gods before he fell, which god was it?
What actually happend when he got defeated? Did the sea just vanish and become a desert? Did the Margonites disappear at the same time as him? How did they look like before they got turned into madness monsters in the Realm of Torment?
We know that Abaddon fell, but what other secrets are there that we don’t yet know of? What actually happend? Why did Abaddon want the world to have magic? Why did he want the world to have magic so much that he went to war against the other five gods?
And for Thaumanova Reactor?
*See an explosion, in the past, in one dungeon
You can craft really cool weapons with the coins, that is what they are used for.

@ Harbringer
WTS Real Life.
Power of the credit card.
During the Cutthroat Politics preview on Twitch, the demonstrator talks to a vendor that is selling 1 support token for 14 silver and 10 support tokens for 1 gold.
I’ll probably be sinking a lot of gold into Evon.
EDIT: Upon further thought, buying support tokens is probably an even better thing for the Evon campaign, because the people who would vote for Kiel for the WP cost reduction probably don’t have much gold to spare.
You can straight up buy the election? WoW! That’s a new low even for ArenaNet. How kitten ed would you be if you sank 100+G into supporting Kiel only to see Evon win in the end? ArenaNet is obsessed with this idea that people need to lose (RNG) for players to have nice things. This is probably the dumbest gold sink to date.
Then don’t simply buy votes?
it’s just my opinion but i think you are thinking about it too hard. Fractals aren’t happening over and over. We are merely replaying history. We are reliving a singular event in history and can do so because Asura technology allows for it.
No, I’m not overthinking, I know fractals are just shards of the past, that we can see.
Still, to be there, to see a battle against a god, should be a rare sight, nothing they throw in that can be repeated over, and over again.
There are of course the avatars, this might be a solution
They are having a battle against each other, why should they send avatars to battle for them?
Maybe they cant be seen from a first person perspective but we see the world through a third person perspective so we should be fine. maybe they only couldn’t be seen when they first appeared cause they didn’t want gawking believers following them everywhere. Your points are nulled cause you never got to meet the gods in GW1 for confirmation of rummer of what other npcs said.
So I guess your point is so much better because your forum posts says so?
There are scripts written on stones in the gods favour, on scrolls, in books, that says that mortals could not see the gods except only one, and that is Malchor, who built the statues.
I take written lore over your forum post saying that my points are nulled.
I suggest -everyone- to watch WoodenPotatoes video about this, so you actually know what you are talking about.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
and when did you hear this news that gw2 will launch in china?
Pretty much anyone who follows ArenaNet everywhere and different community websites.
Yes, ArenaNet are preparing to launch Guild Wars 2 in China, they are in the beta phase at the moment.
I don’t know we will see any Cantha weapons just because it is released in China.
Story-wise, I’d vote for Ellen Kiel (and that’s what I’m gonna do, probably).
Bonus-wise, I’m indifferent. I neither need cheaper waypointing nor BL keys.
Fractal-wise, I’m more interested in the Reactor, so again, Ellen Kiel.Seems like a done deal, right?
But then my boyfriend pointed out something this morning that I hadn’t considered. The Abaddon fractal might come with new models/textures while the Thaumanova story wouldn’t require them. But I would like to see new models and textures. It’s still speculation, of course.
Anyway, before you lot welcome me to the dark side: I’m still going to vote for Ellen; however, if Gnashblad wins, I’m going to have fun with the new content anyway. And PS: waiting for him to d evil things and eventually removing him from his position will be fun, too.
If you mean new models and textures for the gods themselves, I will be really disappointed.
As WoodenPotatoes (lore guy) pointed out in his video, no mortal can look at the gods without going blind, and that is what made them mysterious. You can’t look at them.
There was only one mortal who could see them and that was Malchor the Sculptor.
So, I’m torn between wanting this fractal or not. Battle with a god sounds fun, but remember that the fractals is a small thing that you repeat over, and over, and over again.
To battle with a god should be special, and not something you do over, and over, and over again that you don’t even want to do the fractal anymore.
This also leaves me wondering if ArenaNet remember things like these, that the gods can’t be seen, and that the fight was over the Crystal Seas, and that makes me wonder how the fractal will be done if you can’t see the gods.
Just to let you know, Shield of Absorption stops absorb projectiles if you use the heal. So use the heal the the very end.
What is a “GA”?
I like log in screens, it gives me the feel of a ‘’Welcome to our game’’, and I think it should return. I absolutely loved original Guild Wars log in screen.
But I supposed they removed the log in screen because of how long it takes to actually load into the game, especially if you logged out in Lion’s Arch, so they removed it to remove as much time possible trying to log in instead of playing the game.
The He-Man guy who sings ’’Heyyeayyeayeayea’’.
I don’t want to play as a god if Evon wins, because bad players would just die and make the gods look bad.
Think everyone’s gonna copy this look soon…
Most likely.
I looked at some other armour pieces though and made this kitten.
They could replace it with % boon duration.
The party will be transformed into the gods and gain special abilites.
And then the whole map is a big jumping puzzle that you will be forced to jump.
huehuehue
Are you sure that you represent that guild you want to represent on your alts?
When you represent on one of your characters it does not always represent on your alts.
To represent a guild, press ‘G’, target the guild on the tab and press ‘Represent’.
I have stored it in the bank for now.
I only got one profession at level 80 and that is a Guardian, and the second highest is a Ranger on level 48, and then I got two others at level 14 – 16.
I don’t really know what profession I should use it on, nor what race I want either, since most of my characters are Humans, and I got one Charr.
I hope they don’t add greatsword to elementalist.
Greatsword is a powerful melee weapon and also dangerous to use for a cloth user. Mesmer using one is almost bad enough.
Did you know Elementalists already have a greatsword?
It’s called conjure fiery greatsword. Note the word greatsword.
If that elite was trashed and simply made into a weapon set. I would like my elementalist a lot more than I do now.
Yes, I knew every much of the conjure utilities, and I still think it’s fail that cloth professions should be running around with a greatsword.
Well I hope that if/when they are taking this god kitten long to implement guild halls, when they eventually do, it will blow our minds.
Personally I’m hoping that the guild halls will be “integrated” into the open world and not instanced, but probably not.
It’s most likely going to be similar to your own personal home instance. An instanced are for your guild.
I hope they don’t add greatsword to elementalist.

The gods aren’t dead. They’re just AFK. Don’t go spreading false rumors.
They got turned into Elder Dragons.
Huehuehuehuehue
I got the 400 gems and the 15 gold. I converted 13 gold to 400 additional gems and bought the flute.
I do not regret.
I find doing Zelda songs on the flute really hard.
I’ll keep practicing that Morning Mood song…
Come on guys.
Let’s go to hell and kill Satan!
I’m running around with almost full healing power, works great for me.
But yes, they should somehow fix the Berserker spree. Not with a nerf to the playstyle itself, but to make dungeons require more than just pure damage.
Perhaps making mobs a lot harder to stack up and AoE?
I don’t really like these permanent speed increase signets and traits.
Why? Well to begin with, these professions that do have them, already have loads of escape abilites and what not.
I play a Guardian, and they are pretty strong, but I’m not able to catch any profession that is running away, at all.
If I solo roam in WvW, and I get a Thief on me, I might be able to take him down, but the moment he decides to get away, there’s nothing I can do. Same with Elementalist, the moment they decide to pull their knees on their back and run, they can do so with ease.
So yes, I don’t like these speed bonuses, because of escaping, together with teleports and whatnot.
Magic Find gear was horrible to begin with to have on gear, it punishes yourself and the ones around you if you decide to join dungeons.
Gaining Magic Find through bonuses from achievements and as potions from salvage and drops is great.
Exotics will still be as much as viable, while Ascended is a small step up to have something to do.
But true, that doesn’t stop idiots from gating non-ascended geared players from dungeons and whatnot.
People already gate professions if they are geared and traited ‘wrong’.
Nicholas the Time Traveler \o/
And no one mentions Guardian?
Guardian pretty much sacrifice his virtues for the greater good.
Need more overall damage? Use Virtue of Justice to make everyone around you take a bit of extra damage. Your party needs healing? Sacrifice your passive healing for a good heal on your party members. The enemy is making a big AoE? Use Virtue of Courage to apply a block on everyone around you.
Then of course you can build your Guardian to be very, very selfish and not help anyone, but I would say that the Guardian is the profession that sacrifices himself for the greater good the most.
A Class who Sacrifices his/her Pride for the Compassion of “The Under-Achieve”- “Lesser” class.
This, however, does not fit the Guardian.
But yeah, I am hoping that the actual “fall” is the first one since the other ones has already been done and over with.
Colin confirmed on the stream that it will be the very first fall of Abaddon, when he was fighting against the other gods.
Just remember that the Fall of Abadoon fractal will be the very first fall, when he was fighting against the other gods, not against the heroes.
That looks more like confusion than retaliation yes :P
Longbow for Guardian, shooting blue spectral arrows pew pew.
I’m voting Evon because he’s portrayed as this mischievous, ’’evil’’ Charr who just plays good to get what he wants.
I’ve seen Kiel in all these Living Stories and she just seems to be this regular hero of justice and happy quaggan candy yum yum with some countrside girl attitude, it’s not interesting to me at all.
I know barely anything about Evon, and that makes me interested in how ArenaNet will build his character in this Living Story and upcoming ones.
I don’t care much about the promises at all, but I take the Abaddon Fractal over any waypoint reduce cost for some weeks.
I’m sure you love your sword.
That screenshot spam tells me no different.
The Charr is also black, the same colour as the armour dye.
