Dying? Far from.
The content is coming out fast, sure, but it ’s too little and mainly temporary. People like the game, but with nothing to do, they take breaks.
As said, the Living Story is fine, to some degree, but it’s not fine if ArenaNet believes that the Living Story can replace big patches or expansions.
There’s no way the game will stay populated next year with the coming MMOs if they don’t announce something big soon.
It’s a hell as a Guardian if you go with Shelter.
You can’t cancel your heal. If you press your heal, and cancel it, it will not heal, but it will go on cooldown anyway, because of the block it gives.
I’m just scared that the future emotes will come in books in the gemstore for 800 gems and takes space on your utility slots.
Achievement points are a fail overall because of the points dailies and monthlies gives.
People flexing with their achievement points have just completed all the dalies and monthlies since it got introduced.
People who do not complete dailies and monthlies every day and month will never be able to catch up if not the other player stops playing for a longer time.
I posted this in the Human forum but didn’t get many responses out of it, since that part of the forum rarely gets visited, that was 4 days ago. I know this will probably not interest players that play other races.
The way Human males run with their one-handed weapons out looks rather… okay I suppose, but they seem to flail their weapons around a lot .Some weapons that are bigger makes it look like they are bashing themselves in the head with them.
When I looked at the old trailer ‘’Races of Tyria’’ I saw the old Logan’s running animation when he had his shield and sword out.
Doesn’t it look better? Like he’s running with a defensive position? I guess this is mainly because of the shield that makes it look more cool, and could look a lot more weird with other off-hand weapons.
Thoughts?
Living Story is good, and it’s fine, yes.
However, it doesn’t become good if this is all we will get, especially not when the main things are temporary.
As said, the way Living Story works now, is fine, but it will not work if it will continue like this forever without any big expansion like reveal. It’s not going to survive the next year with the coming MMOs.
You might say ‘’These new MMOs coming looks/are kitten’’, maybe they are, but it will still bring people over there.
I like the game, but nothing since Zephyr Sanctum have had a real ’’HOOMPH’’ behind it, so to say.
The coming Fractured patch sounds cool, but honestly, most of the features sounds more of a minor patch fix.
If you cant doge aoe circles by now you really shouldn’t be doing high level fractals. What would hurt more is if cannons give agony
I want the room to also give environment permanent cripple to make it even worse.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
I happend to be stuck with my Guardian.
I’m not just able to go away from 30 in Virtues. All that cleansing, more boons and boon duration has become like crack to me.
Ontop of that I’m in full cleric armor with soldier accessories.
I just can’t go away from it.
HALP.
I still think Zeal and Virtue are the worst traitlines ever made. Goes back to my suggestion about streamlining them. Part of the reason I work around them now. I’m just not into rewarding bad game design. By promoting it like it doesn’t need to be fixed. With that said I took a few suggestions. And say with some interested gamers over the past weekend.
We came up with 10/25/0/30/5. Also 20/15/0/30/5 both I’m like meh. But then again the point is to carry and be a threat. I do admit the first mention did a excellent job of that. I couldn’t even find a way to dismiss it. But as people know from my past. I don’t just randomly post builds.
So you’ll see it in my videos first for a month or two. Keep in mind new changes coming anyway. So I’m pretty much in no rush to make any build. But it’s fun sitting down with you guys.
@Bas hit me up via you tube or twitter.
I have to disagree with Virtues being bad. It’s a really awesome traitline that enhances our virtues even more with condition removal, stability, and other boons we get when we activate our virtues.
Some traits are meh, and some are great, it’s like that in all our traitlines.
I voted Evon. He felt and looked like a more interesting character. Kiel wasn’t interesting enough to get my full votes.
The fact that Kiel was in the living story long before Evon got him into a disadvantage.
Don’t make me take Phoenix Wright into this.
If they’re resetting the fractal level to 30 do you think there’s the slightest chance they’ll make the fractal level account wide? I don’t see the harm since you can always set your level and all the gear is account bound so we can easily get the agony resist on the character we like.
They are going to make it account wide.

To be honest, none of these new ’’features’’ gets me excited. This sounds more like something that should’ve been in a patch fix, except maybe the new fractals themselves.
Because of the new Leaderboards. It wouldn’t be fair for you to be at the top of the Leaderboards from completing it on easy mode would it?
Feels good to be forced into leaderboards.
“personal reward level for the Fractals of the Mists is above 30 will be reset to 30 so the competition can begin in earnest..”

Nay.
He was useless. And only got promoted when you appeared.
He was old and close to die anyway.
I think you mean Swiftness and not Quickness.
1) Yes. I got 80% boon duration (with food) and I apply 36 seconds swiftness on both myself and others.
2) Sadly, boon duration does not work that way. It only works with boons you apply.
I’m probably speaking out of profession pride but Guardian is one of the key-professions for a good working WvW group.
Most likely linked before, but, yeah.
Shield is abysmal on guardian.
Although the style would be great, it’s unfortunately this. The shield, as a weapon, is just useless.
I disagree.
The shield is great for teamplay situations, especially in PvE and PvP. WvW can be discussed.
The Guardian shield is more for to help your allies with protection applying and knockback with a small heal, while Warrior shield is more selfish defense.
I got The Flameseeker Prophecies yesterday. I knew from the beginning that aegis would destroy some of it looks because of the clipping issues.
It doesn’t look too bad though, but I would be happy if they changed the aegis appearance into something else.

I hate it when I always think that I’m green and nothing else
ArenaNet released this milestone infographic at their anniversary which was August 27 this year
https://d3b4yo2b5lbfy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/1c2c9GW2_Anniv_Infographic.jpg
16% plays Warrior
14% plays Ranger
13% plays Elementalist
13% plays Thief
12% plays Guardian
12% plays Necromancer
10% plays Engineer
10% plays Mesmer
My Guardian is gold, not black, thank you very much.
Guardians seems to have a lot of problems with their visuals.
Aegis, obviously. I completed The Flameseeker Prophecies yesterday, I was already well aware though that aegis would clip into it and destroy it’s look to some degree.
It dosen’t look too bad though.
Maybe you have another on-swap sigil attached to another weapon in the same set? Could even bug with an extra on-crit sigil due to the cd.
That could be it then. I got Superior Sigil of Battle on my shield.
Made a video to show, not that there’s much to show.
Superior Sigil of Energy gives you 50% of your endurance back when you swap to that weapon in combat.
However, I have tried many, many times now to swap to that weapon in combat, and I never regain my endurance.
Yes, I have checked many times, and it’s the right sigil, and I have been in combat, and I have swapped the weapon.
Anyone else having the same problem with their Sigil of Energy?
Original Guild Wars did so good with Assassins. They didn’t have stealth, they had shadow steps and good mobility.
- and now with Guild Wars 2 they just had to cater to the already bad stealthing classes…
I wish World of Roguecraft videos would’ve reached out more than it did.
It’s known that Tengu was considered being a playable race with Guild Wars 2 release but they scrapped that idea.
Now we at least got updated about what’s going on behind the wall, and it seems that Destroyers are appearing behind there.
If not playable, we might at least get behind the wall soon.
Some threads have been posted about this already.
Here’s the reddit thread though.

I don’t agree!
Also, we had a PvP minigame where you choose weapon, and your weapons did different things, like the heavy gun made you slow, but really tanky, and the slingshot made you fast but fragile DPS, etc, etc.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Maybe.
That’s all one can say.
WvW is mainly a battle between zergs. Zergs are a lot of people, and the reason why they did this nameplate thing was because of culling. Culling made characters invisible, because their models haven’t loaded, and because of the amount of players, the models took a really longtime before they loaded.
Some players barely knew what they got killed by because the zerg was invisible. The nameplates got added so you could see how many there actually were, and where they moved.
I take this nameplate thing over any “hiding behind trees 1vs1 battles”.
The community on Reddit (that_shaman most likely) datamined some interesting codes some days ago. The codes showed consumables, journals, that will tell the story, and keep track of your progress as you build your precursor.
I don’t have a Legendary yet, so in my case, I’m going for The Flameseeker Prophecies. Here are some codes that shows the journal for The Chosen.

Double-click to recieve the materials needed to begin your journey to become a wielder of The Chosen.

My Journal: Seeking The Chosen
In this journal, I will track my progress as I seek out my destiny to become a wielder of The Chosen.

Legend of The Flameseeker Prophecies
The epic tale of how this legendary weapon came to be.
Either way, I’m wondering how the building part of the precursor will be. Will it be time gated? Will it require loads, and loads of gold? Another set of Tier 6 materials? Or will it contain new set of materials and/or items only for the precursor? Will it be as ‘hard’ to build as the Legendary itself?

The only thing I had against it was that the fight was taking place in a bubble above the zergs. The moment you looked down your frames started to drop.
Otherwise, really interesting fight with pattern memory.
Moto and Tixx, Moto’s super holographic technology and Tixx’s plush toys.
The Super Cuddly Alliance
Mo lten Alliance
To xic Alliance.
MoTo
Moto confirmed being the ’’Joker’’.

There are some interesting datamined codes, yes.

As examples.
So we had Molten Alliance, Toxic Alliance and some smaller groups like Aetherblade. But it seems Scarlet likes to manipulate people into alliances.
What do you think will be the next alliance?
I want Karka x Zephyrite Alliance. Lol. And then making some Hybrid. Huge Karka x Human thing that can – despite being that huge – move fast with aspects power. Then a map like Sanctum Sprint with that boss at end where you need to sprint up fast and destroy him before he finishes a ritual that makes him too strong so he could devour the whole world.
On the way up “small” champs will try to knock you down.
Aetherblade was allied with Inquest.
So, Pirates + Inquest.
Maybe.
That’s all there is to it.
Renewed Focus
Focus, making yourself invulnerable and recharging your virtues.
Conditions still damages me though
Living Story content is fine.
However, it’s not fine if ArenaNet believes that the Living Story content they give out can replace the worth of an expansion pack.
So far, ArenaNet have not made any stance for expansion packs, and the time is ticking. If they continue giving out similar content like they do now with their Living Story, it looks rather grim. The content gets rather uninteresting and stale, and they are always very similar.
As said, Living Story content is fine, but it can’t replace an expansion pack.
I didn’t like how we all just stood there and watched her walk away. Why did we do that?
Was that her? All 3 times i did that instance last night, it didn’t look anything like her. It looks more like Mai Trin or some other Aetherblade.
Perhaps Scarlet is evolving, too. Maybe that’s why she’s suddenly wearing a hood.
She wore a hood the very first time we saw her which was in the Queen’s Pavilion. But she was called ‘’Mysterious Figure’’ or something in those lines back then.
Green.
Bane of my existence.
There’s nothing Legendary about the current Legendaries, no.
The moment they could be put up on the Trading Post, their Legendary status disappeared.
Simple solution: rename them. Instead of “Legendary,” rename them to “Mythical” or “Fabled.” Then people won’t be crying “There’s nothing mythical or fabled about my journey to get it!”
(In case you didn’t get the metaphor, the word “Legendary” is NOT supposed to describe your journey to get it. It describes the weapon as being legendary in lore and history, a named weapon that is famous in Tyria. So yeah, any argument about this word’s use is irrelevant.)
I agree though that they lost worth/significance once they were put on the TP. -1 point ANet
The sad part is that there is no story for any Legendary except maybe Rodgort and The Flameseeker Prophecies. But even those weapons have no story in Guild Wars 2, only ties to original Guild Wars.
However, our friends at Reddit datamined stuff as ‘’My Journal: Seeking the Chosen’’ which is the start of the scavenger hunt for the precursor.
They also datamined a story book for the legendaries, and how the weapons came to be, apparently, so they might get some kind of story in the end.
Still, being able to put them on the Trading Post, is still a big, big minus.
There’s nothing Legendary about the current Legendaries, no.
The moment they could be put up on the Trading Post, their Legendary status disappeared.
SAO was a bad anime and you should feel bad for liking it.
Let’s be honest here. If they just had gone with the concept of the tower and the 100 levels, it could have been pretty cool.
But yeah, the anime just fell and sucked big time after half the episodes.
Nah, people are overanalyzing as usual.
ArenaNet just thought it was cool to add a creature with six eyes, nothing more, nothing less.
There’s no connection to either margonites or Abaddon.
Stealth is not actually stealth either.
It’s total invisibility.
