S/d is pointless.
Why? Don’t tell me you spammed this bug as a mimicked version of shadow shot. I don’t understand why people can not, and or accept that if some one got away then they ‘won’. I have know about this bug for years like everyone else but stopped using it after a few weeks later. S/d is is still powerful as a defensive/offensive weapon set and vs a non d/p, it’s a very good dueling set. People crying like they are now reminds me of when flanking strike got nerfed so that it had to land to proc LS, why? There was no tactical play when that was around… 90% of the people used the FS in the open then bursted with ls.

Erm, you don’t need boon share mesmers to melee train. 50% boon duration on guards and front line heralds with durabilty runes is enough

Full berserker Trinks, full marurder weapons and armour. Runes is up to you but I use scrapper.

Shadowstep in CnD is needed that’s why CnD->Steal works very well. That combination should be in CnD. Then again, that’s just a lame idea because what I really want is a completely 5 different skills exclusive for D/D (and P/P) using the Dual-Wield mechanic.
That would make s/d way too broken. They should maybe give cnd blind.
There’s no damage benefit for S/D to go in stealth. Sure they get an extra mobility, but how is that broken?
Expect there is, the impact trait with the combined back side tactical strike dmg will be close to the same dmg as what back stab is.

Yeah there are a lot if silly things that no 1 cared or complained about on all classes that got “fixed” I am experienced with this set, have been for a good year now…started playing it seriously since around April last yeah now how ever most of my fights were duels where I didn’t need to chase said person or, I used shadow step/steal along with IS if I knew I would get the kill other wise they can run of and reset and come back for round 2. I have never been 1 of there’s thives that will go out of my way, burn all of my resorces just for a cheap gank.
I will watch his streams tonight, intrested in why people used it.

Chasing targets that try to flee. S/D right now has no way of catching up if someone decides to run away. It’s just another dead weapon set without a reliable gap closer.
SHow me a video of this lol, I would love to see how or why people did this. Dancing dagger is bad but it never failed me for keeping up with fleeing people and if said person wants to fight you he will come back for you, come to think abut this, this was just a way to gank people who are 2K range or fuether away that was either fleeing a fight long before anyone noticed or is an enemy thief on short bow.
Of all of the sd thives I have seen I have never seen 1 do this bug, even in pvp, so that’s 5 inative used up, are there’s the sort of s/d thives that only use #1 and #2?

Staff I would say is more fUn then sword (asume you spam pistol whip) and sd isn’t really meant for pve. At least with staff you can use all 5 skills effectively.

Ok, this has nothing to do with balance and or builds, its about the new UI, its terrible.
the pop up on the start of the match is very annoying, and there is no way to “dismiss” it like you can when Q pops in lobby, 2ndly same thing as above, the pop up after the match is very annoying too, 3rdyl why can i not just leave the game when it ends, instead i have to “bug” the join team option then decline… i assume that this is still in beta but it is pointless having said above things popping up (when people want to duel before the match starts and this thing covers the screen with no x button)
I how ever like the small char faces on the start of the game where you can at lest see the enemy’s look’s.

Atm my warrior is mainly used as wvw front line melee train so I have had to hop on the bandwagon and use durability runes (it’s the meta!!!) But for roaming I find it subpar to what I use to run (str/pack)
What do you guys use as either small scale or solo roaming wvw or even pvp rune sets?

Can’t see any point in going that lotus dodger as a power thief (rest of the traits seem to aim that it is power) and I dunno if I would want to drop bandit’s defence for that signet. Looks pretty standard to me…Not really tried out weakening strikes on s/d.

exactly that. all weapon sets that use different weapons between main and off hand are “good” but both p/p and d/d that use the same in both hands are trash. luckily p/p now has bound so they can stealth but apart from that, its unload that carrys the set wich can get shut down just by reflects.

This nerf wouldn’t of been half as bad if they did something to off hand dagger. I once used dancing dagger on an engie and it was obstructed but he was able to pull me using magnet…Seems legit. Oh and was both stationary too. Anyway dancing dagger needs a better projectile path because atm it misses far too much using it on people coming at you head on, misses 90% of the time when using it vs people at a different angel
Really can’t think what to do with cnd, someone suggested some sort of port wich I think is bad because other s/d already has a port and p/d you could just spam that and shadow strike for easy torment stacks.

Not played this map, but if understand this correct it’s fine for bunker or ‘tank’ builds with good sustain to sit on a point that is surrounded by obstacles wich makes it easy to use Los so said thief/ranger has a hard time to get at you but it’s totally wrong for the thief ranger to have a bit more freedom with the space they have now?

I can upload a small example tonight before someone interuptd the duel. Thief isn’t the same as it was last year because of the trait changes. I use to run 2/0/6/0/6 d/d, shadow arts were “masters of stealth” yet it’s mainly us the gets screwed over by enemy reveals. At least mesmer has f5 f4 or even f3 or is f2? To interupt the enemy. I watched madvision on s/d and I watched how he used FS on nearly everything hard hitting attack and I also did that too but now I am mimicking the style over to d/d and on some class it works, other it dosnt (yet, thats a l2p but I will get there)

Best thing I have done while playing d/d power is to remove all stealth utilts, focus on stun breaks (I run with shadow syep bandits defence and signet of agilty) and disable aa, that way you can focus more on usig death blossom to evade big hits with out being delayed from the aa chain, also your only stealth is cnd wich is used for bs only tbh. There are some mu that are impossible to win like dh, wich counter us anyway and some driods are hard too (lb staff) but once you get use to not hiding in stealth all of the time it’s actually a nice fighter. Dash has more then enough mobilty to out manuver warriors revs are very tricky though, hammer revs are easier to deal with then duel melee rev.

I duno, the path findings are crap I once stole to a warrior on a hull in wvw, teleport ed to him but did not “steal” nor did mug trigger because he was “obstructed” … go figure lol
