I agree with Macon, I am a PVE player. Am trying to make Bolt and now am being punished and condemned to WvW in order to finish it. Every time I get into WvW either there are no CMDR tags or the ones I group up with seem to think being out numbered 3 to 1 are good odds. Last weekend I spent several hours and managed to get about 1k exp towards the 20k needed. at this rate it’ll take several months worth of weekends to get it. Please, please, PLEASE go back to beeing able to buy it with the commendation things. I don’t like WvW, what did I do to deserve this punishment? : )
Punishment? You have it easy! Why should us wvw players be punished to farm the crap out of pve for mats and not to mention gift of exploration.

I didnt say its standard for pve but My point is that you shouldn’t really have issues in pve unless you’re in green/gold armour or doing raids/high end fractals. Full berserker stats does enough dmg alone with out traits so going defence line won’t matter a thing but has a lot of defence/sustain for pve so picking this is a no brainer. What build would suggest then?

Well, once in berserker mode, kill shot becomes gun flame… so yeah the cast time is reduced even before the quickness. Kill shot even with quickness still does have a telegraphed action but not 30 mins lol

Sorry, I never said there was, was just replying to jana. And I didn’t mean there was no interupts back before hot, ofcorse key skills like you pointed out were a must to interupt, I meant that head ahot/pi is used a lot more.

I think d/p has changed since when them people left as it dosnt rely so much on pi, before it was about back stab but now it’s interupting and keeping out range of certain skills (rev sword #2/3 as an example) stealth and mimd games were still there but PI seems to of over taken the weapon set and made it even more powerful. And that’s the power creep not just from pi, but from other hard hitting over tuned abiltys other classes have. You can do enough dmg at range intempting people now instead of risking going into melee.
On topic, I think staff is only good if you play acro and bunny hop all of the time, and quite frankly I feel that people are just rotating between dodge, #3, and dust strike but that’s all it can do, why use this for team fights when you could bring a dh trapper or something else wity high sustain. Staff thief is only really at dueling and I have had better success at it then s/d and d/p but that’s only in wvw or GH fights, probably wouldn’t bother using g it in spvp much

There is a reason though why 9/10 are dd now. Because as previously said, run dd and you can do wonders, run core and you can’t do anything (unless you play yolo 12k+backstab builds)

The biggest problem is runaway matches, playing 10 games and having all but 1 of them as total whitewashes one way or the other.
That’s probably down to class stacking or bad Comps. I noticed a lot of games were very 1 sided due to that and not the actual players them self’s.

what about the common moments where you can proc this from AA? thats the problem with this trait, it has no icd, work on ANY action and cost’s only 4 inative @900 range (in most cases)

Alright, as a thief main in pvp, I’m curious:
Does anybody else feel like thief pistol dual wield is a little too good? Especially given the removal of the more bunkery pvp trinkets recently, it just feels like a low skill, low interest, high payout ability. Lately I’ve seen not a single thief not equipping double pistol in pvp (yes myself included).

So, most people run full bersker. Might swap some for marurders just to push 60%crit chance. Also what runes, using pack for roaming and dura for wvw raids.

Sorry I miss worded my sentence. I didn’t mean that’s all you did (rotate bound/vualt/#3) it was more of a figure of s peach. Ofc you can’t just do that and I notice you did use #3 quite well and wasn’t random. Was just saying that it was the play style of evading a lot. I play s/d a lot and I doubt I could pull of them sort of out numbered fights as I mainly rum dearly arts and lack the aoe.

An outrageous idea and suggestion. at least a lower the dmg by 10-20% and an icd on it. Not power creep the hell out of it.
To the above post, it works on AA… that’s just 1 example of brain dead spam. I said this before that I agree inteups should be rewarded but really with how inative works and at 4 inative per head shot. Some class’s like rev can get rekt alone just by keeping the gap open and ‘spamming’ head shot.

^ also remember that he is using acro, so he has 60% swiftness time which helps with bound and vault (evade frames are still present though) 90% of this game style is pretty much rotae bound/deliberating arc/vualt, very effective wihch is why he beat that dh, and probably a hell of fun but it’s no longer risk vs reward anymore with builds such as this.

A lot of talk about headshot spam or headshot PU proc being a focal point of defeat in this thread. A lot of thieves, myself included don’t use Impacting Distraction. I barely use headshot as is, and especially not against a rev. I’d rather save the initiative for re stealthing frequently to confuse and disorient them.
Headshot spam generally only works against opponents who mash skill #1 when other skills are on cooldown. You don’t win player vs player fights simply auto attacking.
On the contary, a lot of thief vs thief fights have become more about head shotting, even vs aa then anything else. It’s sad but PI is just too op and easy to use (ofc stability counters this)
Sindd posted a video fighting s rev from zen and he beat him 4 times in a row, just by head shotting and keeping the gap open, very rarely did he stealth.

Hammer is perfect for Backline wvw zergling and or pve maps (I don’t mean fractals or raids.) Cor already hits for over 8k+ as well has 5-6k other other hammer skills

They changed the sound file about a year ago so now the sound pitches from hi to low like everything else. Also shortbow #5 trigger the sound twice which is annying

i main s/d thief and lack any of the stuff d/p can do so its still a tough MU, i do agree that the trait is stupid and there is no need for it, hammer revs are probabaly the biggst threat, even the AA can deal up to 3-4k, wouldn’t worry about trying to land the skill’s them selfs though. also the sword of had a pull dosnt it?

The point is, having an elite skill that acts as a finisher dosnt actually count towords an achievement, regardless if said finisher is easy mode or hard.
