Use to play an open world pvp game, it was pretty kitten fun when you have abut 20 v 20 People over a map boss, normally the fights last ages and sometimes the boss never gets killed as everyone would get whiped. That being said the population was no where near that of this game and I am sure people would qq in no time at all.

the only time a thief can 1 shot anyone in pvp is another thief. even bersker ele can react to a solo 1 shot if not under presure, use invul and port (lag might still get them killled)
thief has no passive defence/invul.

sort out your path findings, how am i not able to use any (projectile) including siege disable in some locations but a DH/thief/engie/reaper can pull me from below at the same location as where I throw’ed the siege disable.
how can I use head shot (x/d #4 thief) at melee range and the shot was obstructed ? how can i steal to someone as a thief and also become LoS error (no target path found) but they can port to me and or, use projectiles.
the texture are so out of whack, its pretty sad playing sometimes, dying to people because of said above issues is so stupid.

Hitting said person isn’t the main issue man, it’kittenting them while a passive defence pops up which are sometimes nie in possible to predict and cancel, what ever if its a block, a blind, an invul hell I am pretty sure bv can stop your own bs (pretty sure the stun happens before the dmg).

And yeah pretty much what cynz says. If you’re in stealth and use #1 skill and for what ever reason it does not connect then it goes on a 1sec cd, wich is a bumber if you see a window as soon as you enter stealth but no much of a problem is you use it just before stealth runs out.

I’d like to see a weekly event in the middle of dbl now that there is only 1 dbl. It could be a big final gambit to turn the tide before reset, and it could help provide players with ascended gear without grinding content outside WvW.
That will juse attract pve players though. Although it’s not a bad thing as newer people might actually like wvw, but it might encourage the same mentality as eotm where people come to just farm this event and thats it.

See I asked this thief about how he makes D/D viable, and he replied, “You have to cut the cord from the SA trait line. It’s a crutch that bad thieves rely on because they have no reaction times.”
He the told me he runs Acrobatics, Trickery, and Daredevil.
That’s more of a crutch build than SA ever was. $10 says the guy runs IR, too.
Daredevil is the epitome of crutches for thief. Actually, I’d reckon it’s probably the most potent set of crutches out of every profession/mechanic in the game except for dire geared-condi mesmer.
In all seriousness, nobody gets to brag about dropping crutches until they move to builds like DA/CS/Tr.
Does Da/Tr/Cs with P/P count as no crutches? Lol
Trick is a crutch that bad thieves rely on because they have no mental capacity to manage their Initiative pool.
You have to move to CS/DA/Acro to remove all crutches.
Is this a joke? Because it’s a pretty bad 1. Preparedness isn’t the main reason why people take trickery :-/

You also need to take into account of players that do not have passive defence. Thief vs thief is already a joke for example. Mug alone does 2230 ish dmg and would crit up to 5k easily, now ad pi that’s another 4k asuming steal interupted the target, and air sigil. That’s 10k before backstab. I say no to crit on mug

s/d and shortbow is the way to go, that is ofc, you play s/d. i dont believe in this crap about chasing targets down, if they got away then let them go… they will either come back and or give up but you’re both reset so whats the problem…if i wanted to keep them in combat i would go shortbow and pace my self because any smart person being chased by a thief will have a counter burst plan in mind…although you can surprise them with los advantage. I have played s/d for 3 years now, but milked it since hot. i have never used/bothered witht hat bug exploit of infiltrators return and jump…
i do not play pvp much anymore but i play a lot of wvw, my traits are DA 2/2/2 tricekry 3/1/2 DD 3/2/2.

its all good n all using there’s gimmick builds to solo camps but vs a player with braincell’s it will not work. i would run a build that takes more then 2 mins to solo a camp (i know thats not possible) but can fight people then some cheap crap build that can only mow down npc’s

Soloing a camp the other day on my thief playing d/p (nc) I was in melee range of an npc who used their heal skills so I used head shot to interupt it, only to have red writing saying (obstructrd)… how does that even work?

Rev can reveal us and can keep up with our mobilty to some extent, I often hit around 4k but I am not built for high dps. Rev hurts us way more then this skill does.

But some people see that as a loss because his opponent got away, nothing worse then having a good fight only for you ‘lose’ because they managed to leg it, and that freindly /salute would be flipping them off more then anything.

There is probably more pve players now in the pvp arena just to farm the backpack. This is why you see so many people rolling fotm builds and class’s. Even thief players are now playing the faceroll/gimmick condi d/d, there is no point in trying to ‘play’ pvp when it’s just full of aoe/passive and more aoe… So just play what everyone else is and go with the flow.

the thing i, 1 team does skill balance and the other does amulet, how can that even work? you can’t have 2 ‘balance’ teams fighting each other and expect pvp to prgress into esport, it just dosnt work. The problem with pvp is that its all about conquest…afking on nodes to farm points, so ofc people are going to run easy, most efficient builds going (aka DH or condi chrno) the balance is crippled beyond repair.
