This only really affects d/d builds that are designed to burst someone from 100 – 0. Didn’t play much wvw last night but I didn’t see much of an issue as s/d at least.

How van anyone say shadow shot is a utility skill, its probably the hardest hitting non conditional skill on that set. The tool lip is far too greedy for what it does.
I quite often hit 5/6k with this skill and at 4 inative it also ports me from.900 range blinds enemy and it’s unblockable.

i really dont see an issue with this, i think most of use only “spammed” stealth attacks where we predict enemy stealth player is. you still get a 2nd chance before 3 seconds of stealth wears of anyway.

well out side of the fact that zerg did not engage in to that convex instantly wipe you. you could of chain CnD walk around in the zerg to find a target

I don’t think it is really possible with today’s date of gw2. There a a lot more passive defence and blocks denying cnd, not to mention the amount of aoe dropped. Also people are a lot wiser since when you could chain cnd back when d/d meta was shadow arts.
On the contrary about there isn’t much left with d/d. Started playing it again and it’s actually a pretty good dueler, it struggles a bit vs ranger who know how to play or anything pew pew ish. You can toe to toe vs warriors as long as you death blossom their burst and kite with dash. Recording some fights so i will post them

Is this how this is to be now? Unattainable unless you want to submit yourself to the waste of time that is WvW? Is there another way I am missing to gain this.?
I have been kicking my heels around gw2 since release and gw1 for 7 years before that. These pathetic attempts to push me into this waste of time for a legendary may well be the last straw. If I wanted to play WvW I would already be doing it. I simply have no interest.
I have been enjoying the collections for building spark, jumped the hoops, wasted time building mats but it was all in a game mode I am happy to play. Now i find it was all a massive waste of time and gold since it offers no variation to the final stage of how a legendary is built.
This is not my first legendary, so far I have built Rodgort, flameseeker prophecies, dreamer, meterologicus, but this reward track is just a step too far for me.,
If I want incineratot I need to grind wvw. as far as I can tell.
I wish there was a reward track for gift of explration, some of us wvw players who dont like pve and never monaed but still did it.

Take escapist absolution and dodge into clones and also use the trait improvisation for double stolen skill (it has resistance). You could try shsdow arts instead of da though and opt for shadows embrace

Most of them duelers are actual roamers just having a good scrap. Sometimes yes a fight club does happen around sm but it’s never at the main gate. They are normally down the slopes away from enemy npc archers so they can’t even get agro. Duels also happen with out any planning or warnings they just happen, I went to do daily bloodlust capture and when I got there, there was a fight going on, being a sportsman guy I let them go at it only for the Victor to back away from the other downed guy to self rally. After 10-15 mins of duels we took it in turns in capturing the blooldest then went on our own separate ways.
Interupting duelers with a blob is a silly idea because the dueler will just call friends and chase the blob around and gank their back lines. I know because I have been summoned my self
if they are on a path or literally out side a keep/tower then that’s their problem but going out of your way just to get a cheap gank with 20 odd people is just as Sas as them duelers in the wrong spot.

It’s annoying but not game breaking. It’s more of a troll build then anything, stun break the trip wire then cleanse the rest. This build is no real threat but just an annoyance at best.

Obi’s build has 100 less power 100 more toughness and like 5 mote crit dmg so they hit pretty much the same but you also get bonus from dura runes where as I think, 50% before fury is good enough anyway (at least I run 50%) I see no reason why I would use pack runes, maybe only 1v1’s but that’s about it.
Might even give dura runes ago my self as I mainly use it for wvw raids and that’s the meta now anyway.

Yeah, spamming #3 skills is such a game breaker. They might put an icd on impact trait, and may be nerf dash but I can’t see what else they will do, unless they also do something to shadow shot.

I mainly play wvw and as s/d thief. I win most of my fights vs mesmers (power or condi) though I find condi a bit more easier to fight thanks to double consume ectoplasm thing. How ever if I miss my steal then it’s pretty 1 sided for 21 seconds until I get a 2nd chance with steal. Power mesmers I find more scarier because they bust a lot harder then thief can (unless they go signet yolo bust) I am talking about 3x 4k mind wracks, mirror blade thing and mind stab, executed from stealth ofc and at point blank range so I didn’t even see the mirror blade to dodie but at the same time if I dodge that and bait out distortion its game over for them most of the time.
ChronoS have a lot of tools to fight us though can pull of more complex combos

For every day use, there is no cons as to going marurder over beserker stats… That being said I would only going for weapons and armour and keeping Trinks bersker. I persoannly use scrapper runes over other offensive runes as I still get added power bonus with some nice defence stats too. I will post a link of my current gear and stats but it is all ascended. The stats are my preferred min/max so don’t worry about the odd cavalier piece.

Charrs look silly as casters but I like they say when swapping atuments. Rat casters are better because they are less obvious with animations.

Just because i said tha some people can not face tank em or have invul it dosnt mean that I have issues with them, although I am not going to deny that thief always had it rough vs medi guards let alone dh trapper.
The good thing about traps is that they trigger then the dmg happens apox 1/2 or 3/4 seconds later so you can still dodge them and the daze is also a pre earning to dodge as well.

Staff is a very good weapon if played well. Try not to vault spam, anyone who is avg will be able to either dodge 2 vaults and tank the 3rd or just interupt them. #2/3/4 are the main skills to use and yes, staff is great vs dp but not so good vs s/d though you hardly see many of them anyway

how ever, if the wall is too high then there is nothing to counter it. i mean no one below can aoe , what if all it takes is 1 long range seige at outer bay that can not be hit apart from enemy long range siege, that has a window of vale and ruins. ok enemy can treb from briar. seige wars are just boring.

Yeah i did bring that point up lol, that’s the whole point of p/d because you know, shadow strike gives torment and they have to chase use, (asuming they are melee) Oh what ever. No, going d/p is the easy way out. I practice s/d with out using #2 so I have the same mobilty as you apart from that now I have 4 skills instead of 5 but I will use #2 to clear a condition.
Now I see why people lose intresting in you, you put words into other people’s mouths wich are completely opisite to what’s originally been said. I never said condi d/d had nothing g to do with hot, I said lotus training made it stronger wich it did. I also said pre hot condi d/d was arpund but i also didnt say it was as common, if anything it was a rare site. I don’t need to prove to you anything because I have seen it with my own eyes.

You don’t have to get to your enemy, in fact I let people come to me, that’s how I used p/d same as d/d I dunno why you think it is vice versa, may be that is you who had issues fighting people now. Refusing to adapt and constantly sulking because d/d is trash teir when in fact it’s the as it is before hot it’s just dd line is so much stronger as a defence and offensive.
Why would i of wanted to record condi d/d thives in the first place, let alone pre hot but i can asure you that they did exist. Perhaps it is you who should be posting videos to us and show how hard you have it?

You don’t spam flanking strike at all…May be 3 years ago, it’s used defencevly and kiting. People who spam that are asking for trouble. It’s stupid but for what shadow shot does and how it cost ofc people spam it but that’s only because of the blind, as p/d condi? That was a cheap way to get torment up and I dunno how you spam it when you’re sent back 600/90 range? I forgot now.
Things have changed a lot as we all know, it’s the same thing with vualt spam, people will soon work out how to burst them and they will become trash again and can only kill tunnel vision people and or baddies.
Lotus training just made it stronger, people ran that build way before hot was even thought of.

May be not everyone has a reflect or block or invul but everyone does or should have a chance to counter react back. For me I would steal to them and interupt (asuming they are not sitting in smoke feild)

My take on d/d. I have played all sets through out my experience on thief wich is now close to 3k hours. D/x is fine I mean the aa is strong and Hs can crit for 7k as well so the dmg out put is I think good. Now, /d is also in a good spot although I think dancing dagger could do with a projectile movement polish up as quite often I am seeing “obstructed” or “out of range”for none of thows reasons, it’s just poor path findings anet has made. CnD should not cost 6 inatuve for what it does and how hard it ‘can be’ to land the skill, I would like to see no power creep on anything by the way but may be add another 2 vul stacks or lowing it to 5 inative would I think be a nice tweak.
This leads to combination of d/d, the #3 skill is flawed and premotes very poor and simply game play that anyone 1 can do with hardly any risk involved. I see a lot of there’s d/d condi spam videos and I just can not see the point of such trashy play style, is this what thief has become? You could probably write an Ai program to play the build for you in ranked pvp lol, back on topic…
I can not think of anything atm but I think that death blossom in today’s date of thief is srsly hurting the d/d weapon set as all other #3 duel skills do a lot of nasty things, I think a total rework on that skill alone is needed but it should fall into the wrong side like condi #3 spam is, I don’t think anyone wants to see a power version of repeating the same button over n over.

Not that i disagree with this post, i support that a blob should not be unstoppable unless meeting another equally large if not larger blob, question is how do you break that? What i do strongly disagree with is your rev statement…my friend..are you going to ignore mesmers which are beyond broken and even daredevils? I know i know you said certain classes..but still i am annoyed by the fact people jumping on rev, which is slowly becoming what warrior was pre last seasonal patch, nerfed into the ground. and completely overlook mesmers which as you stated…completely broken as kitten.
I can’t say much about mesmers because I do not play 1. Regarding daredevil though??? I main 1 and the only thing we are broken at is Ganking low health people and or running away, not doing stupid high aoe dmg from 1200 away and also not sharing passively 8 stacks of might or protection. Guild grps are running around with 40+ seconds of protection and high uptime resistance, something a broken daredevil can not do.

Dancing dagger is pretty good. I care not for the cripple nor the dmg although it can crit for 2.3k on another low armoured build a d also air sigil procs. I use to burn enemy’s passive defence. Pop bv and throw a dagger. Good bye tempest defence, necro fear or even rev taunt. Most builds use signet of agility so most fear/taunt is removed instantly.

I dunno. It can be easily done with practice. I taught a guildy how to interupt vault with point blank shot with a very high success rate just by telling him when to use it on me we was dueling.

Tactical Strike doesn’t require you to be behind or flanking your target. Ofc you would land it. And you will also land your Backstab but you won’t necessarily land the double damage. That’s what is hard to land. What’s more, it’s hardly worth the effort.
this went strait over your head mate. when i say tactical strike i meant the dazed version, so yes i am behind said target…who uses it to blind people :p, how ever it is a bit faster at ‘casting’ then back stab is.

D/d was all about dmg and landing cnd. I guess It can still wreck power warriors and maybe sone eles If they don’t run stone heart and even some mesmers but it would take too long

Don’t bother. Although how satisfying it is to kill someone with d/d most of the time you are out classed in every way. There is far too much aoe flying about theres days to be able to sit toe to toe as you once did and there has been a lot more defence added to some classes. Scrapper hammer for example is a huge offender here. I struggle sometimes as s/d because I lack the burst dmg… Unfortunately d/p is the most powerful set and 99% of thives in wvw use that set.

I really can not see any point in running 2 trait lines that give out so much endurance. Dd alone with bountiful theft is more then enough endurance, now include signet of agility into the build and you should have no problems. Acro is also a huge dmg loss too, would be much better going cs or da.

We use face you guys with much bigger numbers then us, a lot of the time GH had the outnumbered buff when yu came to our bl.
