Wish I could take them out of my bank and throw them at people’s heads.
That would be funny.
Buying a precursor on TP doeasn’t feel really legendary to me.
Legendary grinders or legendary lucky maybe? Make it feel like its an achievement in game at least, not because you simply borrowed daddy’s credit card.
THERE IT IS!
Skyhammer captured in one beautiful moment.
What I really mean is that it doesn’t really hurt or negatively affect new players.
That’s what I feel. That veteran players have invested their time into this game and as such have an accumulation of game items, such as boosters.
The fact that they can simply just take it away and that its not an issue is a failure on their behalf.
I’m really disappointed.
Last count for me was a straight 150.
I’ll try and work on that but I open chests and keep getting more…..
Anyways, I may have asked this question elsewhere but I am genuinely curious how many boosters people have left over that they are about to lose?
I’m sitting on 149 glory boosters….. no wait, make it 150 I just opened a chest………
Anyways, how many glory boosters have you guys got?
I’d seen WM doing some GvG awhile ago and more havoc orientated stuff on the maps when they mobalised in more recent times but it was obvious interest had dried up for them.
TBH I feel sad. Back in the day it was impressive to watch (rendering?) the organisation and discipline they carried themselves with.
Guess it just reminds me too of players I used to play with and guilds I used to see that are no more.
Sigh
Guest to a higher population server, you can use this feature on the character selection screen for free.
I recommend selecting one of the full servers to guest to.
Hope people from AR feel the same way…
Since Anet doesnt use a PTR the changes will go live without community feedback. This will mean that it will be a patch filled with gambles.
So it could be really good or it could be really bad (or anything in between).
It will be bad.
That is to say that even if its good the community isn’t clear on the logic or reasoning behind the decisions being made and will respond as such.
Not that a PTR in and of itself would make things better. They did that for EotM and people ended up complaining about that too.
Personally I’ve not been impressed with PvP for the longest time (Conquest only? Really?) and with glory boosters simply just disappearing it reminds me of the FotM reset. ANet <3 temporary content, it can get cut out just like that.
I tried eating my left over glory boosters for breakfast.
Unfortunately we cannot grant retroactive rewards
I’m so surprised by this.
…
No I’m not.
I’m not sure spoken accents misspell words like stick. o.O
You missed all is vain?
I expect before tournament (or just on top of it).
Mass PvP in a new to be released game is considered good. ANet need to manage their game to ensure people don’t leave for what some consider better mass PvP.
I expect a few updates around this time. Commander tag possibly? Mainly to try and keep the masses on side, not necessarily because they want to do it.
As a filthy casual I can only really comment on losing all of the glory boosters I have. It seems ridiculous that there’s no system in place to compensate for that, they’ll simply just be gone.
Doesn’t look like it gets better the move you’ve played either….
How promising do people feel about these upcoming changes? Given the state of PvP since release? The current way they are handling the transition? Does it bode well for these changes?
I thought it was just because they were having TS3 troubles based on the forum posts I was reading…
Other servers got hit just as hard, they were just more pro active about it.
QoL things we would like more YES
Rushed buggy zergy content NO
I dont think it is a “plan” to get more guilds, just that they like to pretend they are weaker.
…
I made an engineer at launch because as a GW1 player I wanted to make what I saw as the Spirit Spamming Ritualist alternative in GW2 a turret engineer (are you laughing?).
Anyways, it hasn’t happened and my turret engineer farms the easier world bosses now because turrets are hopeless.
The OP derailed himself by making his post have such a focus on GW1 players.
As a former GW1 player who had EVERY torment weapon its unfortunate that the torment weapons have been released the way they have. But not because of what the OP said but rather what has been alluded too.
Torment weapons were hard to acquire in GW1. They are not hard to acquire in GW2, in fact the system behind GW2 is about RNG/gemstore or simply use gold to buy off TP. Anything that was special about torment weapons has been lost, in GW2 it’s just a skin.
There is nothing sentimental or special about these weapons anymore. Its a repacked skin that was sentimental but ANet decision to to take what was special and completely disregard it has changed all that.
My issue is that this painstakingly reminds me of all of the skill-requiring content in GW1 that just doesn’t exist in GW2.
Which is what people in this thread, who have never played GW1 don’t understand. Torment weapons actually required a degree of ability to achieve and persistence to obtain.
GW2 took a treasured weapon set and commercialized it. They just needed to throw in some cute babies, a tear jerking song and a conflict that gets resolved so everyone lives happily ever after.
I feel like joining T1 just for epic fights and 24/7 coverage tho :] sounds like it would be fun to play like that for a while.
I can’t comment on what the fights are like in the lower tiers but I’ve seen people from lower tiers come to higher ones and usually after a big encouter I’ll read something like this in map chat ‘omg i never exp this kind of fight before, that was amazing’.
Who knows if that feeling maintains.
Well in FA’s defense, TW also had a giant kittening zerg backing their 20-25. They even asked/forced other SoS guilds to help them push on guild groups. They sure know how to blob.
A good strategy to use against TW is to split your own zerg up into small groups and hit multiple objectives at the same time. They literally have no capacity to break down and handle things on a small scale level.
Why do you assume that those of us that support peoples rights to do what they want as means we also actually do the things you’re complaining about?
Why do you assume?
I don’t know for a fact that Leo isn’t an AFKer
Fixed
Just because you want to stop something doesn’t mean anyone who disagrees with you is doing it.
But then again…
Why don’t you do the math and tell us all about it? This isn’t sarcasm. I seriously wanna know the math.
Why is it always BG players? Is the community really that self absorbed? People are just asking you to contribute, in some way, even if it’s only a little.
Your entire argument is based on I get rewarded for doing nothing, so I do it. That may float on the BG server, but to everyone else you look like a kitten.
I’m so surprised it’s not implemented yet.
…
No I’m not.
I seem to be accumulating a metric %$#@ tonne of them, even after getting my backpiece.
What else can we do with them?
Having played on BG in pretty much every timezone for the last couple of weeks, I assure you its every timezone.
BG is outnumbered in EVERY timezone now…… this thread is going nowhere fast.
That the BG folks are some of the friendliest, welcoming players I have met in a long time.
Then perhaps I should clarify.
It’s typically a BG player that will post a ‘2v1 thread’ or in your case commenting on being outmanned when you come from THE server least likely to not have that problem. It comes across as having no perspective.
Compare PariahX.6970 post to yours. He takes a holistic approach and attempts to give people a sense of the bigger picture and what might be happening on other servers rather than simply saying “On my server…….”.
As an outside observer, watching what happened to SoR during Seasons and the subsequent ramifications of what happened to them following on from Seasons. In short the answer is NO.
Seasons did more harm than good.

RNG screws me in game and out of the game it seems.
If you tell me that only people with precursors drops received the mail I’ll personal come over there and punch you in the kahoonies.
the only people left on the forums are the hard-liners who think that nothing new will improve this game.
Your such a hard-liner.
This last weekend, with the American holiday, it was a zergablobby fest from JQ and TC, particularly Monday night.
You don’t have American’s on BG? Only TC and JQ zergblobby? Why are you talking about Season 1? You were ‘Almost always’ outnumbered then too? You realise you won seasons.
Look……….. if you are ever outnumbered its because your map hoppers left the map and left scouts only and/or your fair weather players have given up. Your server hovers around full status, which isn’t the case for any other server. So you have the numbers on your server, you should get the people into WvW.
I will be honest at this point in that your post comes across as a wall of text substantiated by a group think mentality. I have to say the culture on BG fascinates me. It strikes me as very insular and self perpetuating in its nature.
THAT WAS YOU!?
…
(Not that it has anything to do with me)
This thread is great because you can see all the people that don’t read the OP.
You can imagine them visualising what they wanted to type before they even clicked on the thread.
Yes, BG has decent coverage. We do not have 24/7 . Almost always have Outnumbered when I am playing.
Almost Always? What timezone is that?
A BG player commenting on being outnumbered -.-
I don’t GW2 anymore
lol
Used to be able to post a picture on the match up thread and the enemy servers would deal with it internally but since the match up threads were wiped there has been a huge increase of exploiters and hackers because they know they can get away with it now…!
That’s an interesting point that the community is now in a much more difficult situation to self regulate.
Ive been playing since release. The main difference between hackers at release and hackers now is the degree of discretion showed. Hackers don’t hack as obviously.
It come down to a number of things hackers getting better at hacking. Hackers have legitimate concerns about their accounts and not wanting to lose them (the irony).
From a pragmatic perspective ANet care mainly about hacks (or bots in particular) that damage the economy and impact directly on their bottom line. They’re the ones they respond to quickly and efficiently.
There were a number of threads that were closed around release that discussed hacks that investigated solutions to hacks (Punk Buster etc). None of it came to any obvious conclusions and subsequently only ANet has any real idea of numbers and how successful they are at stopping them.
Remembering of course that a lot of information is handled client side and so therefore Anet are unable to directly determine if someone is hacking or not. Its a combination player video footage, player reports and as much information as possible that will get someone banned.
Make and using a thief running solo while in stealth, you tell me are they hacking? Even ANet doesn’t know.
prove that.
You want it to be proved, not that its untrue.
All things that ain’t important and only consider these 3 servers and not WvW as a whole
I saw an ANet representative respond to a post about having a similar up/down vote to reddit. The reply being they wouldn’t allow it because they considered every persons post valid. This is a shame I think because the number of times I’ve seen a silly perspective that never receives any thumbs up votes but gets attention just because its at the top of a thread is unfortunate.
What that means is that those that are new or have enough rage or even just time can make the same tired arguments again and again and again with walls of text that dominate the threads. The reset of us, are tired of seeing it and have to shift through it and usually don’t reply because were sick of seeing it. In the end were left trying to ignore it.
Nowadays if I see a topic that interests me and its a long thread Ill scroll down the side to see whose getting ‘thumbs up’ and read those posts in particular, but there’s still a shifting through process.
The only real QQ I’ve seen is from those that care about PPT, perhaps too much.
I care about PPT but not enough to start a QQ post about people in EotM.
Why? Because EotM is FUN! It’s even done a good job (to an extent) of breaking down the efficiency of a zerg which I hope persists.
EotM is a welcome addition to mass PvP, is their room for improvement? Ofc but lets not cut off the nose despite the face.
EotM is new and exciting and people are trying it out so there’s going to be a period of flux. A lot of the ‘Doom and Gloom’ points in this thread appear from BG players which is worth pointing out. Most people however are taking the new changes in their stride.
It will be interesting to see how things progress over the next few months. But calling WvW a problem with the recent addition of EotM is a big unnecessary QQ.
People have been asking for additions to WvW -.-
Guys, please discuss matchup threads at www.gw2wvw.net
Someone referred to that site as a ‘cesspit’. I am inclined to agree with him.
Yes all the forum trolls and players that liked to write bad comments on the official forums that caused the official forums to get shut down migrated there. Now all the trolls just troll each other because they have no one else to troll anymore.
Seigfried was one of the first to sign up -.-

Ranger: These posters don’t like to get in the middle of the argument. Usually stands back from the center of it and throw in a few mild observations. When serious will quote others and send those ideas in front to face tank others.
Hi Ahmrill,
You’ve been a great advocate for an improved commander system for some time now, which I admire.
Concurrently Sacrx’ NDA leak has highlighted why they have dragged their feet on improving such things in WvW for sooooooo looooong. Heaven forbid they make it easier for people to enjoy smaller group activity and not always zerg.
Anyways, I may be proved wrong yet, but you shouldn’t your breath.
I think the forums have gotten them self into a situation where they can be called out for asking for something and then getting it and then complain about the very thing they asked for.
It’s cause the majority of players are content and doesn’t visit the forums until something upsets them.
That’s what I’ve observed. People complain they don’t like this or that so it gets changed then people complain it was made worse.
The more balanced people feel that GW2 is in a good position especially compared to other MMO’s, those people have perspective.
The biggest complainers seem to be those that have no perspective or those that come to the forums in rage mode for whatever reason and complain ie. it’s bad game design.
All the skilled PvE players in game are gone due to light weight content.
We’re left with PvF players, who are better at bragging about their current ban on their alt account and leaving one liners in the player fail thread.
Is it any real surprise?
They been doing things like this since release.
I’d still rather WvW than PvP xD
