Smooth Penguin.5294:What I want is for a carrot to be so hard to get, that some people may never get it at all.
Based on your post trends this would be something along the lines of being super expensive that realistically only TP Flippers or credit card users could get. Could such a carrot include content so hard that players such as yourself would never realistically get?
In any event, either way, its a mute point. GW2 has very clearly and distinctivly made itself a mainstream game. As such there is little room for what you want or what people like myself want. Be thankful that you can have multiple legendaries playing your way.
Smooth Penguin.5294:If activity A provides you with a lot of Gold earning opportunities, and activity B does not, then it’s the players fault for choosing to do B over A.
Activity A being TP Flipping? WvW, PvE, PvP would be activity B? I should learn this activity A, but then I remember I bought a game called Guild Wars 2 not Tycoon TP Flipper 2.
The real gold should be made going off on grand adventures, not sitting afk in LA price gouging with a bunch of spreadsheets in front of me.
Does ANet allow leniency for rage on this map?
I’m concerned because I’m usually a very relaxed and carefree person but on this map the chances of me telling everyone to go %$#@ themselves increases dramatically.
With the current trend of skins returning your probably better off asking for a way to gain the backpiece again.
This has been happening since open world content became ANet’s ‘thing’.
The LA events were pretty bad, people could literally AFK the entire thing for a reward. This event scales with the AFKers so close, so maybe its worse.
I got my AP’s then never touched it again.
no, for all the thing I don’t care that ante bring back
I’m beat down.
While I agree with you 100% this update screwed any sense of pride I had in previous rewards.
For example the Fervid Censer was specific to the Secret of Southsun. While it wasn’t particularly challenging or involving it was a mark that I was there and I participated.
That moment is gone now.
I don’t care for the horns/halo because to care is to be only disappointed. Rather I’m hopeful that SAB weapons make a return and I can get the ones I missed last time and don’t have to pay the TP for them.
This is my new attitude.
Just wondering on peoples feedback.
Precursors keep people playing.
A percentage of sure.
For me however, WvW, PvP, PvE is what keeps me playing. Personally I think precursor acquisition in its current form is stupid. Which feeds into your next point…..
It’s important that something in the game be very difficult to accomplish.
Difficult in what way? If I’m not prepared to grind out gold for hours and hours on end and pay someone else for the privileged. If I’m not prepared to sit afk in LA while I price gouge the TP with a bunch of spreadsheets in front of me. If I’m not prepared to use my credit card. If I’m not prepared to cross my arms and legs and pray to the almighty RNG Gods.
Which one are you referring to?
I’ve seen people quit once they’ve achieved their goals.
People quit for a variety of reasons, that would be one amongst many.
Progressing towards these rarities should be a great adventure in itself.
You took the words right out of my mouth. It’s nice to see that I’m not the only peron who thinks this way. +1
No one thinks “Wow, what a great player” when someone pings a bunch of legendaries in map chat, people are more inclined to think “lol”. Good with spreadsheets or even worse, used a credit card.
Just increase the drop rate of the recipe
But if you increase the drop rate it will cost more. Wait! What?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Double-the-precursor-drop-rate/first
Because it’s an ongoing point…….
the sense of entitlement in this thread is pretty effing astounding. you are not going to lose your house or life by having to wait a few days for your WvW rewards, chill out people.
It makes it feel like anything that actually rewards the playerbase is left on a backburner while all the stuff that bleeds the playbase’s wallets dry is pushed to the front and waved around.
They had 9 weeks to resolve this and so had time to get better systems in place and your right about what takes priority. To try and turn it into an ‘entitlement’ argument is pretty lame.
If you want something from the gemstore is it ok to take first and say you’ll pay later? Of course not, ANet have expectations of us, just as we have expectations of them. They said end of season, end of season is here and were still waiting.
Wow.
9 weeks worth of tournament you’ve had to be on top of this issue. You should have done some kind of roll out for tickets as people’s servers had guaranteed their particular position. At least then you wouldn’t have been ‘dumped’ with this problem and playing catch up while everyone waits for their reward that was supposed to come after the tournament had finished.
(edited by FearedbytheGods.8617)
So it’s worth mentioning that the people who post regularly in the blt threads are now soaking up posts in this thread.
There is a ‘group think’ mentality that persists with these people that in the mists of making a lot of gold off of others they will tell you it’s best for the community.
If you believe them, that while they line their pockets they are providing a service that makes the economy for all players in Gw2 better.
WvW = Coverage wins however Mags gets recognition as one of the better roaming servers to go to.
PvE = Some interesting developments (wardrobe) but grinding/TP flipping still the way to get legendary. Lots temporary content.
Class Balance = Warriors have been pulled inline to an extent, people have found something else to complain about now however…..
No they haven’t given an official announcement yet, so it could go either way.
Wow, such a good player. Please tell us more about how wvw kills and PvP rank which you can just farm, liadri which takes almost zero skill, dungeon master which you can just buy and fotm rank which you can just be carried through are demonstrations of skill.
If you’d bothered to read what he posted…..
From what I see he actually plays the game and his comments about skill were related to legendary acquisition and he was asking for meaningful progression.
You must be one of the multi-legendary wep holders he was talking about.
Its prestigious if you had to work hard to get it. Which in GW2 means grinding for legendaries, or getting dungeon armor.
lol
You don’t work hard for RNG…
You can work hard to price gouge and TP flip but you afk the entire time in LA and its no account for skill in actually playing.
NOT playing a game is legendary (and prestigious)?
I didn’t mind the festivals in GW1 but as nekretaal has stated some of the events were hardly impressive.
People tend to look back on things with romantic eyes and recollect ‘the good old days’.
(Wall of text)
Are you trying to convince us or are you trying to convince yourself?
so eventually itll go to the hands who has the most gold or actuall cash converted to gems to gold since its not account bound.
That’s touching on whats becoming something of an issue for myself because its become an ANet mantra.
Precursors are in the exact situation. Multiple legendary holders ARE NOT people that play the game a lot or even play well for that matter. They’re held by people who are good with spreadsheets or (and most importantly) trade gems for gold.
It’s nothing to do with skill or even meaningful progression.
It makes the game feel shallow, unless your the kind of person that enjoys going afk in LA price gouging with a bunch of spreadsheets in front of you.
Same.
I got the sovereign weapons I wanted last time round without the huge expense. So I don’t feel like spending EVEN MORE on other weapons I want less.
Not a huge tonic/mini fan so…
I’ve been playing since release and haven’t missed any previous rewards so….
So yer, I’m not sure what to do….
(stacks disappear when entering water, but not when leaving it).
YES! I can confirm that. So if you get you stacks in the water first and then exit you can keep your sigil on your water weapon only!
ROFL its even worse than ‘PvE before you PvP’ it ‘swim PvE before you PvP’.
Please someone explain the logic in this. Now I’m avoiding the water as much as I can. Sad!
This is why its an ANet fail, it was a positive step to make player kills 5 stacks because it reduced the whole ‘PvE before you PvP’ that was in the game.
The current state means where back doing something similar to that again.
If I see you charging into battle with the gasmask, molten gloves, jetpack, and The Moot, I’m going to think you’re a total idiot.
That’s just arguing an extreme point of view. To assume people with prestige gear will simply mash the pieces together because it’s all unique is an idiot thing to say.
The OP is pointing out that MANY prestige gear is now easily accessible irrespective of how you use it.
Was FotM LS 4 weeks….
As always its the silence that’s most frustrating, either way.
Bump, cause I see some people still attempting.
ANET: Better nerf something that we missed out on that to find a solution to our inadequacies.
As part of the as changes implemented to disallow the workaround for keeping stacks you will now lose your stacks when transitioning between land and water if you don’t have a sigil for both sets.
ANet went full kitten on that one.
The less they tell you, the more you hoard. The more you hoard, the less bank space you have. The less bank space you have, the more bank slots you need to buy with gems. The more you buy with gems, the more chance you do it with real money.
even if we get a huge amount of said item events that don’t realistically fit into one 250 stack, and were forced to consider extra storage (gemstore sales) to hold said items, that’s acceptable.
Both points accomplish the same thing however one frustrates people and puts them on edge with what to do with said items, the other is seen as a healthy trade off knowing you will be rewarded for holding onto them.
It’s a shame they make so much money from the current process, otherwise they would have fixed this last year.
LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD.
If they don’t become deposit-able after the event, we know to trash em.
True and even if we get a huge amount of said item events that don’t realistically fit into one 250 stack, and were forced to consider extra storage (gemstore sales) to hold said items, that’s acceptable.
It becomes a nice trade off, rather than MAYBE you can use.
use Wall of Reflection and use Shield of the Avenger to destroy the meats.
Just wanted to highlight this, using Guardian made this achievement super easy.
The Marionette event is probably the only one that efficiently broke down the zerg and always had something for people to do.
EDIT: Just noticed the OP deleted his post, dunno why. Just an FYI.
(edited by FearedbytheGods.8617)
The Inquest rub you a lot?
stop saying the skill is buggy when the fault is obviously lag and nothing to do with some weird bug.
oh
I have not, nor have I ever experienced any of these problems with any of the aspects. The only thing I’ve experienced is the somewhat inconsistent landing of lightning pull.
huh?
my “light dash” and “light pull” are spazing out all the time. PS its not my connection. Im running w/ 50 fps and a solid 23 ping.
-.-
Its not the lag.
I had assumed it was a ping issue (like most issues for those not in NA) reading this thread has made me see otherwise.
You post starts off as talking about what can only really be described as the philosophy of GW2. That is combat is dynamic, especially compared to other MMO’s, which I don’t disagreeing with. What you seem to be arguing is the ‘degree’ of skill learnt.
So in that sense its worth mentioning that Liadri’s degree of skill is much more than say killing the average centaur. Both of which can kill you, if you don’t show a degree of skill. One just more than other.
Some things also are not actually L2P, but simple memorization.
For example in Liadri fight the pattern for Shadowfall and the bright twirls seems to be a totally static arrangement.
Elements like that are still in the vein of a learn to play issue. You have to be aware of it and therefore it places PRESSURE on your ability to use your profession. If your not aware of it, don’t memorise it, it affects your ability to perform. So knowing how to counter or work around memorised content is still L2P and once you HAVE memorised it, it’s still a dangerous obstacle.
Also the fights are not a realiably identical as some here stated.
For example in the Liadri fight, the Cosmic orbs do not follow a realiable pattern. They may spawn very favorable for you or simply void your chance.
So while the other part of the fight seems to be made as a game of memory, this part can hit you like a lottery.
From about this point your posts start to look like its just being argumentative. You complain about memorised elements and in the next paragraph complain of random ones.
While you define it as ‘lottery’ which is REALLY feeding into the mindset of someone that’s not prepared to try it’s not considering what you DO KNOW. That is that they appear at a set time after one is eliminated. Therefore it plays back into the point about memorised events.
The fact that you KNOW that at a certain time the orb will reappear and MUST counter it makes it a L2P issue as far as the mechanics of the fight are concerned. The fact that WHERE it appears is testing your ability to see it quickly and respond. While its location and your situation that that time may help or hinder you is simply part of the mechanics that may or may not be over come depending on your ability, L2P. In any event it’s not some arbitrary event that you had no idea was coming.
KNOWING the best way to counter these mechanics is a L2P issue. The better and more optimised your profession is and in particular HOW YOU USE IT will see you victorious.
Saint has rebutted other pints in your post.
I’d just want to finish with the fact that you gave us a wall of text trying to state that its not L2P.
What kind of fighting mechanic would be L2P for you?
I’m determined I will do it.
Nice Danikat and make sure the world knows!

With the Season (finally) wrapping up at the end of next week what would be better than a ‘Best of’ summary for the Tournament.
DO NOT use ‘match up’ style information, please consider this before posting. This is not a match up thread.
With that here are some Best of:
Best Thread: The Non-IoJ (jojojoon.8607 was lead detective).
Best Guilds: MERC (Those guys would always pick up the pieces and leave SEA with a solid foundation EVERY SINGLE TIME) and KnT (because Zikory is one).
Best coordinated 2v1: JQ/TC (Even when both were sick of it a BG poster would lift their spirits).
Best Surprise: HoD (Judging by some of the QQ posts others were to).
Best QQ Server: BG (Words are not needed).
Best Poster: SFShinigami.2015 (If everyone listened to him the world would be a better place).
Best PvF server: BG (The ‘match manipulation’ threads were ingenious).
Best Server: TC (They’ve gone from strength to strength and have every right to be a Season 2 winner next week).
Want Season 3?: No (Best answer of season 2).
Feel free to add more ‘best of’ and I’d like to hear from EU too.
I remember this post from 9 months ago about Liadri:
Zaeon.3846:I think this content have alienated those who aren’t lucky/aren’t rich/don’t have as much free time.
The reason it stood out for me is that he hadn’t beaten Liadri at that time and was complaining about the inclusion of the Gauntlet.
Later he updated his post:
Zaeon.3846:I finally got it! All the stars alligned in the right moments. All my phantasmal warden casted at the right moment both took away 80% of Liadri’s hp. And an orb spawned in the right time to rally me up!
He then heavily edited his post so that it talked about the issues of camera angles etc. But one thing was clear…..
…..he was happy or perhaps more specifically, satisfied with himself.
What he didn’t understand and what some people this time around still don’t understand is that it’s a learn to play issue. That means understanding your profession and using it as efficiently as possible.
People can take a hard look at themselves and L2P or walk away and enjoy some of the other content that has been made. However some stand by the mantra ‘I play how I want to play’ and cling to it because it’s their lifeline when people point out their builds are not very good and it’s in their interests to learn to play better.
9 months ago I L2P my professions better fighting in the Gauntlet. It was frustrating but ultimately the SINGLE MOST satisfying piece of content I’ve experienced by ANet.
If your unhappy with it and can’t let yourself learn from it, don’t play it. But don’t QQ about your inability because there are those of us that would like to see more of this content.
We don’t want more boring zerg fights against bosses that are sponges for damage, because there’s nothing skillful about that……
…but for some there’s no L2P either.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/jubilee/Liadri-alienates-a-lot-of-gw2-players/first
Sigh, the “prestige” argument again. “Forget them, I got mine!”
Your right.
We should dull all content down, make it so that everyone gets everything they want and completely shaft the veteran players at every opportunity.
Oh look! A slippery slope! Or is it a false dilemma? Or a straw man? Or all three?
I think you broke the legal limit of logical fallacies that can be contained in a single argument.
/sarcasm
Then you’d probably get it.
Once again newer players get the short stick.
lol? Gems into gold is your solution and what your also missing is that veteran players aren’t exactly rich either unless they’ve been grinding gold, tp flipping, or got lucky with a precursor.
If anything veteran players have been regularly punished. Glory Boosters removed, FotM reset, just a few examples of things being taken away.
THIS is exactly what happens if the devs listen to them, and thats how it works out.
Just put everything on easy mode so that people get everything they want with no challenge?
Sigh, the “prestige” argument again. “Forget them, I got mine!”
Your right.
We should dull all content down, make it so that everyone gets everything they want and completely shaft the veteran players at every opportunity.
When GW2 was released it had nothing.
….it still has some of it left.
Interestingly I made a thread in the same vein:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/livingworld/fotfw/Trophies-mismanaged/first#post4047431
I feel the management of these items atm is very poor.
I make this post because I feel it is but ask the community for some feedback.
So, FINALLY we can get rid of Blade Shards but given they still drop from Atherblades and Watchwork sprockets should we hold onto them?
Fortune scraps are now useless so there is no point to hold onto them anymore, or should we? However Gauntlet tickets are still useful so it was worthwhile holding onto them.
SAB baubles were easy to farm W1 but by W2 were heavily restricted. This one I benefited from as I’d had a lot saved up from W1. But still…
Getting back to Season 1, I had collected a bunch of heirlooms that I failed to trade in. In cases like this it was communicated there was a time limit, assuming of course you check the forums regularly. But even this I still see as a dilemma, should I hold onto them on the off chance they make a return?
These are a few points that came to mind, people have others. Do others feel that Trophies are unnecessarily convoluted and created a faux pas of trophy management. You may note that i asked questions during this post, the GW2 community can only provide a ‘best guess’ at this time.
EDIT: Just realised Blade Shards aren’t trophies and are considered mystic items??
