Even if you don’t choose to take the trait now, will Mesmers be unviable and weak? Most definitely no. Get over it and move on.

Warriors are amazing but most people tend to play them wrong or misunderstand their purpose. I use my warrior for fast far pressure at the beginning of the game usually killing 1 or 2 people at far with ease then switching to close/mid roamer. I run 0/10/20/20/20 and you must be like whaaaa?! No glass no cannons. But believe me when I say dropping bunker eles in seconds, murdering that mesmer at treb before he could fire his first shot and stomping the enemy roamer thief with 100% health remaining never felt so good. With the new patch my build will be stronger yet again. Only thing warriors lack right now is condition removal which will soon be solved. Don’t listen to me tho I only have ~50 games played on warr but I do enjoy stomping those Champion Illusionists and Paragons in 1v1’s. But wait there’s more! Spiking targets at mid and frenzy stomping people with around 80% stability uptime is also pretty nice not to mention I also have 60% reduction on soft cc and 25% reduction on hard cc and dots.
Warriors are not tanks, they are berserkers. They do what thieves do only warriors do it better, faster and with more team support (stuns, immobilises etc). Play aggressive and you’ll have much more fun!

Actually I’m fairly sure Thief is one of the only classes hardly anyone at Anet plays. I will play devil’s advocate and ask here:

I tried fighting a PvT Amulet thief once, sure they never died, but they did kitten poor damage and were basically ignored the whole fight.

If this patch does nothing about warriors, wich right now they suck , i will be questioning myself if i really want to play a game where im going to be forced to play another class just because the one i like its just bad designed.
The best thing to fix warrior IMO would be to overhaul traits/abilities to amplify incoming support (like a trait that increases the duration of incoming boons from teammates, a trait that lets you use your healing power for outside healing sources, maybe even something crazy like receiving an outside boon causes a stunbreak or creates adrenaline etc) . Giving the Warrior too much of its own sustain like some are suggesting would put the class dangerously close to being a “better/selfish guardian”.
Also I do like that Warrior is going in an anti-condition direction but I don’t think the way they are doing it works well, it’s too passive. Instead of flat reductions like that -33% CC dogged match trait and passive abilities to bleed off conditions with the new patch, they should focus on burst immunity/cleanses that allow the warrior to quickly close gap, put in damage, and GTFO in a well timed manner.
Guardians are not selfish. Why should warriors be not only worse then them, but worse in everything else as well. Did you /NOT/ read our original class description?

I was on pvp today and fought with a ranger that was using a Great sword, he was doing melee not attacking from distance, so it was a melee fight, with his damage and the pet damage i was suffering a lot fo damage mostly from his pet, but not only that, he actually had a lot of sustain he was recovering his life a lot, and eventually i died, this was just so disappointign because how a ranger can be better at melee than a warrior, really warriors are terrible, i cant think anything worse, even if you play them good you are at a lot of disadvantages, and you know something its really wrong when a long range class can beat you in a melee combat, this can not be right.

- Burn, Bleed, Poison and Torment = Regeneration (DOT = HoT)
- Weakeness = Vigor (low endurance regen = high endurance regen)
- Paralise = Aegis (unable dodge and escape of skills = block incoming attack)
- Chiled = Might (skill usage/mov spd reduction = extra dmg)
- Criple = Switfness (Ok!)
- Blind = Fury (Ok!)
- Fear = Stability (Ok!)
- Confusion = Retaliation (Ok!)
- Vulnerability = Protection (Ok!)In atual mode, warhorn #5 are useless cause chiled and bleeding grant vigor, and warhonr #5 alredy grants 12s vigor with 16s CD. warhorn #4 alredy cancels chiled/paralise/criple and grants perma swiftness, there is no reason for more swiftness in warhonr #4 and #5. I’m probably going to get nailed for saying this, but I don’t have a problem with the ranger changes. The long bow did need a bit of a buff, the short bow was always a bit OP, and I don’t think the pet changes, over all, will make that much of a difference.
I know there are people who compare ranger damage to warrior damage and scream bloody murder, but in the open world, I probably have more success on my ranger than with any other profession. Dungeons are harder, but still doable.
I guess if you’re not min/maxing…or not in the I have to kill everything in two seconds camp, rangers aren’t nearly as bad as people say.
There are those who think rangers to completely under-powered, but I’m not seeing this myself in my own game play.
Neither do i when i see inmortal rangers that regenerate to everything and insta reviving (idk how they do that), and actually the pet damage nerf was really needed, they were more dangerous than my warrior, they could just kill you while the ranger was siting regenerating to everything.
I think Anet want make GW2 what NCsoft made Adventurer, Duelist and Grand Kavatary in L2, giving insane power to 2 or 3 classes for gain fans or adepts.
I prefer leave the game that join Thieves or Mesmers.
I have a mesmer wich i like because its effective and its somewhat easy to play, but i dont like a lot his gameplay style, i like my warrior more, but its like playing in super hard difficulty with him at least in spvp , in pve i have no problems with him, i keep playing both but the warrior its clearly underpowered and not a bit, by a lot, and really hate that in order to enjoy the game i should play another class just because the class i like its really poorly designed or underpowered with no justifications.
Thieves on the other hand are for players that explot things, yes, thieves tend to exploit perma stealth, super burst damage from stealth too by the way, and now they are giving them a new condition, so we can not move to try to avoid their burst, if any class its really OP its thieves no other class its capable of perma stealth in the entire combat and then just burst you down with 1 or 2 abilities.
But like you, im not going to make a thief i find them boring, and my mesmer… meh i really dont like a lot his game style either, so ill guess im going guardian since they recieved buffs that were not needed but, well thay were already a balanced class now they are going to became OP for sure and they are melee so.

Warriors are underrated, they are still a good class to play and still dish out the most damage. That’s why most cof p1 runs are with warriors because they are still #1 damage dealers.A lot of high rank players play warrior for a reason.

They were real, because if not someone would have told it already, and there is nothing, and worse, because they are already threads about this deleted, but still no info, so they know the issue but not saying anything because they are for real.

Ok i will bring my worries/thoughts about these info we got there:
-First condi removal for warriors on burst, It is good, but not that good if it is going to be a trait, worse if it is a major trait, why?, because we are now going to be forced to trait that, because one of the great weaknes of warriors is condition damage, everyone its going to feel forced to get that trait, and if it is in the last traits its going to be worse. This would be better if all burst abilities had this remove condition utility for everyone and no need to trait for them.
-I hope one of those traits complete removed are the minor traits on the tactics line, they are a waste of trait points and bring no us,e no value to any build in the game, warriors rol its not to sit and revive people, they are just really bad designed.
-My thoughts on the new condition as a warrior/melee class:
Warriors are going to die so fast to the new necro condition, we have very little oportunities to stay in close with range classes, they ususally snare us or slow us down wich that means we are going to keep walking to them, which means more damage taken from that condition, this is going to be bad you will see.
And this torment condition comes to thieves too?, cant be true, they dont need buffs they need nerfs and severe ones, first of all to stealth mechanics they need to be reworked, then nerf their burst damage or do something so they can no longer one shot people 2 shot or 3 shot if you have thougness from stealth, and no more reset the fight when im going to die. They get this and now they are going to be more OP, this is not fair.
This is for now the thoughts i have, if i have more i will post it on another post.

Anyways for everyone else that seems to be worried about Torment… burst skills removing conditions. Plural. Conditions. Albeit, we may have to specc for it… I think warrior condi removal will be better than just average.
Now like the elementalist wea re going to be forced to trait that.
My prediction is 20 points in Discipline. Discipline is all about bursts and most of the 20 point traits were boring/underused.
So, now its going to be like the arcane traits in the elementalist tree. Bad design.

It implies with its poor wording that Anet is thinking of changing how hundred blades works. Most likely we will not be seeing any changes.
Anet has made no mention of this ability in recent discussions/interviews and is likely to stay that way.
Greatsword is already too good of a weapon right now, any more buffs would render every other weapon in our arsenal useless.

im a thief and my 7k backstab isnt more OP than your 15k killkitten. dont even get me started. LEARN TO PLAY.. you can easily land all of 100 blades if you play smart and not like a dumb warrior. You can immobilize on cripple when you throw your greatsword and if it hits them from behind aswell thats a good 3-4 seconds of immobilize. you can also throw bolas or oh wait…. stun them for 4 seconds with a sigil on your mace burst. learn to play

I’m sorry but I couldn’t hold my laughter. It is very obvious this guy is a former wow player, trying to apply those mechanics in gw2. I imagine him as a backpedaling, greatsword swinging zerker himself. He most likely played a roflstorm warrior. I’ve played wow for 5 years at least and rogues were always OP, yes I mained one for a long time as well. They had a low skill entry and high skill cap. Hell be glad thieves aren’t the evasion, CloS ing, vanishing, prepping, immortal things rogues were.
The thief community did it’s thing once more, pick out the bad apple. If people have such a problem vs BS thieves, why not test and improve instead of yelling every thief is OP. I am a thief, and I can avoid backstabs 50% of the time.
What also cracks me up is that he is asking for extra armor “because real life”. I’d be fine with that if you moved at 25% speed of other classes!

You know what is OP, to go in stealth every time you want without any penalty, go into stealth any time in combat and not getting out of stealth if you get hit or if your attack its blocked, you know whakittens more OP?, the ability to OHKO someone from stealth, NOW THIS IS OP.
In WOW you cant do that, NEVER, its not possible, rogues were the less populated class because they were very hard to play, specially because the armor thickness in WOW mattered, it was not the same to wear leather, tha to wear plate, it was not the same to have 2 daggers than a 2 handed weapon, the rogue was in a dissadvantage there, HERE, thieves dagger attacks does more damage than a 2 handed weapon, the armor in this game is not really that importat as it was in WOW.
Now , rogues cant stealth anytime in combat unless they used vanish wich was 2 min cool down with talent points, or blind you then try to stealth themselves, if during stealth they got hit, they were revealed no matter what, same if you failed an attack from stealth, there is no way, it never happened, they would OHKO someone from stealth, their more offensive ability from stealth “ambush” roughly did damage an even less if you were wearing plate, rogues in wow were pretty well balanced and clearly only good players had the ability to kill the real OP classes.
Thieves in GW2 are just a joke, really if they were under the mechanics of WOW 95% of them will reroll another class.

Yes this is pretty much the best solution, like the f1 skill of sword.

Blurred frenzy its good as it is, is not a very damaging ability at all, im sure the people that hate that skill are thiefs that hate they can not backstab when blurred frenzy its on… Really the damage its no great even if you hit glass cannons like thieves backstab—— > ;heart seeker spamers.
Well i used this in spvp and it was very good at first when people dont expect a bunker mesmer, i was tanking like 3 people and they dont even knowing what was going on in there, sadly the build weakness its condition damage, low damage output and its too dependant on stealth and chaos armor, if you find yourself with any of those you are as well dead.
But it is pretty fun i have to say, you dont expect to survive a lot with a mesmer and this build does that well, you can stand in a point and hold it tanking a bit, then if someones joins (someone good) then the enemy its not going to take the point unless they are very good players.
I came back to the usual phantasm build with a few personal tweaks and i like it more than bunkering, it is fun but reling in someone else to kill its too painful to me, not saying the build its bad, just its not my style, there are other bunkers that do a lot more damage and have better sustain like the engineers, even if you put berserker amulet the damage is istill bad, and using torch for the stealth gimps you a lot from usefull skills, and staff its not a very good source of damage.
Up to this, still needs attention.
