Yeah Yifang it’s possible you aren’t experiencing the same issues everyone else is.

- and it is definitely an issue that is isolated to OSX. I play in bootcamp and the game runs smooth as butter, Anet recently did performance optimisation which has helped a bit. If you know people having issues in Windows then those issues are being caused by something else completely.

Just because large numbers work in another MMO does not mean they will work in GW2.

Look at how combat works, look at how combo’s work. There is a balance that Arenanet needed to strike between requiring players to use some skill in battle, and having content that was both slightly challenging, but still easy enough for the average player to complete.

The larger your party the less you have to strategise. Suddenly the chance of an enemy attacking you becomes much smaller and the threat to your party if you die becomes non existent.

5 is a good number for GW2. Stop complaining. If it was 8 you’d probably complain that it needed to be 10 because not all of your friends fit in the party. They had to pick a number, they picked one, they designed their game around it and it works well.

Just because you want something doesn’t make it correct. Last time I checked they were the developers and had been to University and studied things like game design.

A couple of things.
The inquest were there because they are part of the Aetherblade alliance – an alliance between pirates and inquest. Scarlet was once a member of the inquest which is likely how she recruited some of them into that alliance.

The Pale Tree is NOT a dragon champion. That theory is ridiculous and has been disproved numerous times on the lore forums.

It’s highly unlikely that Primordius is underneath Lions Arch. He was initially, as aequitas says, underneath the Central Transfer Chamber – if he is no longer there he’s more likely to be where there is a destroyer presence, e.g. near Mount Maelstrom.

Dragon minions are mindless – if she were a minion she would not be able to make a plan to free herself, much less enact that plan. The only instance we have of a minion having it’s corruption removed in Glint – and the Forgotten used magic to do that. Killing a dragon does NOT remove it’s corruption – hence the numerous walking corpses that are still around after Zhaitan’s defeat.

They would only do that for something that they had on their catalogue. Game novels aren’t really known for being widely available in book stores. (Which is not to say that they aren’t and that there aren’t major chains which do stock them)

Definitely not… There is no way player housing would work in a zone like Lions Arch. Besides if player housing were to be implemented it would be as an addition to the existing personal home that is found in your races city.

I know something like that SEEMS really simple from the outside – but it’s a lot more complex. Because then every single time someone hits 100% the game is having to do a check – ‘have they had 100% before’. That’s unnecessary code.

They’ve already added at least ten new PoIs and a few waypoints for the releases of Guild missions and several LS installments. Each time, it lowered the area completion of the respective zone from 100% to 99%.

It’s already happened numerous times.

And the exact, current fix is for you to get your PoI, 100%, and no additional reward.

That was the per-zone map completion though. Anyone who already had 100% stayed on 100%. and a couple of those were simply replacing existing points.

I assume that once Scarlet’s living story arc is complete they will be giving a plan for the year.
They’re close to the launch of GW2 in China, so I expect that once it’s launched there they’ll start outlining some of the upcoming changes (and there are changes that they’ve made for the Chinese client which will also be implemented in our client – changes to tutorials and hints, rather than adding grind thankfully).

They have running water, toilets, and a sewer system.

Well Elona has a villain who is far superior to Scarlet – Palawa Joko.
But as for Villains in Tyria, I don’t think they have to top Scarlet. Something can still pose a threat and not be quite as dangerous as her – a threat is still a threat. It’s not like we’ll go – oh well Scarlet was harder to beat than them so lets just not bother.

I don’t have any problems with Weyandt’s Revenge – the area is pretty open so there’s nowhere for the camera to get caught.

But yeah I expect them to scrap and possibly redo troll’s end – it’s a good opportunity for them to do so. Although I find it such an easy JP to do

Also as RedStar points out – we know Pale Tree’s aren’t evil since Malyck comes from another Tree. Whilst Malyck is not quite as peaceful as our Sylvari, he is by no means evil.

I didn’t say the pale tree was male, I said Malyck was male. Also you don’t know all pale trees are good. Malyck lost his memory, his tree could be evil, he didn’t know – in fact he didn’t know what a pale tree was, let alone its level of good vs evil.

The Pale tree being female was aimed at SirBigMark, not at you. You posted while I was writing my response, so yours ended up on top of mine even though I hadn’t seen it before

Also, Maylck is not connected to the Dream, which suggests that the Dream itself is unique to our Pale Tree and that other Pale Tree’s are not sentient (she uses the Dream to communicate so without the Dream it would make sense if she couldn’t talk to the Sylvari). So I’m pretty sure any other Pale trees are completely neutral in that they don’t have an alignment, are not sentient in the same way that our tree is, and don’t have a connection to the dream.

Even if one of our Sylvari lost their memory, they should still be connected to the dream. Otherwise the Soundless would have a much easier time of things.

@SirBigmark, yeah Malyck had lost his memory – but he is still proof that there is another Pale Tree. We KNOW that he is not from our Tree, otherwise the Pale Tree would know him – and she does not.

With regards to dungeon paths – go read the wiki. You should be able to remember what happened in the paths you ran so just look for the relevant information.

It’s possible we won’t see a lot of Destiny’s Edge – the voice actors are apparently very difficult to schedule since they’re all rather high profile individuals.
That’s part of the reason we have the new characters that Ema outlined.

The problem with saying that PvE doesn’t need conditions is that it discounts a lot of things that are already in game. PvE needs conditions to be more viable otherwise there are a lot of traits, weapons and armour that just may as well not be in game.

The mac is not your problem – it’s the network – i’d be pretty surprised if it was only when you’re guesting since all US servers are hosted in the same place.

Conditions, especially ones that stack a lot, are somewhat problematic.

The game basically expects you to have condition removal in your utilities – but it also expects you to have breakstun/stability. The idea of having customisable utilities becomes redundant when you’re forced to fill two of the three slots with specific skills.

Scarlet’s Lair has been confirmed to be sticking around.

Not sure about the Marionette – I have a feeling it might be gone with this patch since it would be odd for Scarlet to still be testing the Marionette whilst attacking LA.

People ahve already hit 100%, if you add new things in their percentage would go down. So then what happens when they hit 100% again, you can’t give them more gifts of exploration…

The idea is to keep everyone on the same level and keep the achievement consistent – so everyone who has 100% map completion has had to do the same things. There’s always the possibility of new map completion achievements being added on later in the game when more zones are added.

When I stumbled on them it was 2 allies and 1 enemy. Obviously one of the allies was sitting on the sidelines – but how was I to know that just from looking?

The service will definitely be moved. They aren’t going to make dungeon armour unobtainable and render dungeon tokens useless. So yeah, this will DEFINITELY be moved and I would not worry about panicking and spending all your tokens.

It specifies a NVIDIA GeForce 320M “Or better”. If you mean you talked to GW2 support and they said that – throw that back at them. The 650M IS better than the 320M and therefore meets the current system requirements.

As to the graphics card dying – not a chance. If the graphics card is dead then the computer wouldn’t show you anything on screen at all, from the second you booted you would see either black or jumbled colours.
- The graphics card is a necessary part of a computer that handles how things are displayed on screen – the graphics – so if it is dead then the computer doesn’t really know how to show you things. (simplistic explanation).

Sorry my mistake I misread your post/your post wasn’t completely clear. All you said is that we know of Sylvari who were not effected by Ventari’s teachings – and for someone I interpreted this as you saying that this meant that our Sylvari hadn’t been effected because we’d met another Sylvari who acted the same.

The Facet’s are tied to the forgotten though, it’s possible that they simply take that form because in the Tyria that we knew Glint was the only (not undead) dragon and the form of the dragon seemed powerful and unequalled within Tyria.

Actually lordkrall the Sylvari WERE effected by Ventari’s teachings – or did you miss the fact that our Sylvari often going around saying things like “Where life goes, so too should you” (or whatever the quote is).

Malyck is shown to be quite a bit different to our Sylvari. He is not quite as peaceful as a dreamer – he’s quite open to the idea of revenge and is sort of more like a mix of both Nightmare and Dream. That implies that Ventari’s tablet has influenced the way our Sylvari grow and the ideals they have – I mean of course it has, any ideal that is held THAT close to you from birth is going to have a massive impact, whether you embrace it like the Dreamers or reject it completely like the Nightmare Court.

Soo the new patch comes out tomorrow and OS X players are probably going to have a lot of trouble playing it? Unless the issues are fixed and will be rolled out with that patch, but I feel like someone would have said something about that already.

I had people start swearing at me for breaking up a duel – what I saw was an enemy attacking an ally and I’d just come running along so there was no map chat to specify it was a duel. The enemy started attacking me and wouldnt leave me alone so at that point I just had to kill them.

Some hearts are completely based around it – they cannot be changed, because no Lion’s Arch means no lionguard, and that means all those guard outposts should just end up abandoned. And there’s a lot of those.
Think for example of Wayfarer’s foothills. There are two lionguard keeps there, at least 4 hearts, and a whole event chain (assault on Svanir dome) there. Without LA support all those keeps would not be able to withstand constant svanir assaults anymore and should just fall. Or be evacuated.
And that’s only one map.

I don’t see why no LA means no Lionguard or that the outposts would be abandoned.
Personally I would think it would be a good reason to keep the outposts open.

Technically all heart quests in game occur before Zhaitan’s death while the living story occurs the year after (going on the official timeline).

So they could leave all heart dialogue since it is essentially not rendered incorrect by the living story – it’s just happening at a different time.

Most people don’t need to game on the go. and often don’t.

I know students who have laptops for uni, and a gaming desktop, because you get much more out of it, for less than a laptop.

You’d be surprised how many people don’t think about having the two. He already has a laptop, mentioned it’s old but not broken. Said he was getting the next for the game. I mentioned desktop, because I’m used to people not even considering one. That’s all.

Yes but if someone is looking for a cheap laptop then they probably don’t have the money to buy a desktop AND the laptop – and they presumably need the laptop for something, which means a desktop is a no go because it would mean they wouldn’t have the money left over for the laptop.

He says “my old Asus worked fine for it”. The key bit there being “worked” which is past tense and therefore implies that he no longer has the laptop or that it is broken etc.
